Benzdey4u:If you haven't booked your flight already, I will advise you take a strategic position on it and do the following: 1. Change your VPN to Canada. This will make cookies see your location as in Canada. 2. Search around 12am and 4am EST for cheapest flight tickets. 3. Focus on AirCanada, British Airline, AirFrance and KLM. 4. You will be able to book for around CAD 500 and CAD 1,300 if you have CAD or other foreign currency to pay. 5. If you do not have CAD, and you are able to get a cheap flight from AirCanada, they have partnership with British Airlines, they most probably would want you to leave Nigeria on a British Airlines flight because they don't ply Nigeria route, call them and ask if you could come to their office to make payment using NGN, they will charge the official rate of around $1/330. Ask before taking this action. This is my advice. This information/method is proven as I have booked a flight in the past for a family of 3 traveling from Nigeria to Canada within 4 days interval between booking date and flight date for just $3,888-- I believe you can imagine how much this would have cost. It would have cost not less than $10,000 as that was what I found. I even saw flight tickets as high as $15,000, $20,000 etc. Kindly do not take this as an advert or professional advice. I only shared what I know and have tested which worked for me. It may not work for you. EDIT. Do not board a flight having stop over in the US if you don't have US visa. Flights going through the US are always cheaper; do not be tempted to buy this tickets if you don't have the US visa. Also, if your journey is having more than one stop over in Schengen region, do not board if you don't have visa. You can board if it's just one stop over in Shengen region. You can pass through the UK and the Ireland without a visa if you hold a Canadian visa. |
Jeffi7:Kindly find the link below; https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx As for the medical report, even if you didn't upload anything, your profile would be updated as soon as the panel clinic uploads it for IRCC to access. You should still upload it though. |
Omarjaygold:No, it won't if the school doesn't require you to pay anything. Just ensure your POF has all the funds needed. |
Zeed13:You can do it for whatever amount of money insofar you are showing the statement from which the transfer is coming alongside the other and provide explanations that both accounts belong to you. Both account statements must be for a period of 4+ months to prove you are not attempting to conceal the source of a lump sum. |
Newww1:Please send any additional documents via webform. They will honour and add it to your application. When sending a webform, do not use the one specifically meant for Nairobi, use the general webform. |
kennyjoy:Yes, digital photo is needed if you are applying through GCkey. You can use your phone to snap. The dimension needed is 35mm by 45mm or follow the instructions here thoroughly https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/temporary-resident-visa-application-photograph-specifications.html |
cadno:Whether or not you are Nigerians, dual intent is welcome by IRCC. No disadvantage for Nigerians. I wish you can elaborate more on what you mean by "My Wife is also applying directly for Express entry via the Visa route." 1. Does this mean your wife has been issued invitation to apply (ITA) from the Express Entry pool and has applied? 2. Does your wife just apply to be in the pool? 3. What do you mean by "Visa route"? My knowledge of Express Entry is if you apply to be in the pool but have not got Invitation to Apply ITA, you don't consider yourself as having applied for PR via Express Entry. Also, there are only three sub routes for outland applicants in Express Entry, namely; PNP and FST and FSW (direct-- if your CRS is up to 492+ currently). There are various ways to get PNP which is province-, territorial-, municipal-, or rural-specific. |
Okudi23:Sending emails and web forms can do alot at any stage when an application has stalled for too long. It is stated on IRCC website. Web forms and emails are welcome when an application has stalled longer than the stipulated processing time |
Awesomegod2023:No one can give exact answer as this is totally dependent on IRCC. You should be hopeful of receiving a PPR soon. If your application timeline has reached 12 weeks or updated timeline, you can start sending them emails and web forms. People have received PPRs a week/month, or more, after medical updated to pass; while some got after 24 hours |
tenderjunkie:Tuition fee : $36,000 ($18,000 x 2 years) Living Expenses: $20,000 ($10,000 x 2 years) Miscellaneous Expenses: $3000. Total : $59,000 (NGN 20,119,000 @ $1/341) Do not be scared by the calculation up there. There have been people who showed minimum expenses for 1 year with undoubtable explanations of how they would pay for the second year with sufficient evidence and got visa approval: but from experience, this is difficult for Nigerians. With high probability, your fund will not be sufficient except you do well in proving how you will cater for the second year expenses. |
AbionaT:Request for your GCMS notes; from there, you will know the next line of action. |
Queenfunlola:While you cannot base your application timeline on another's and it is not even up to 12 weeks since you applied, I think you should not think much about it; you should instead focus on how you can shorten the timeline by submitting upfront medical examination report. This act could trigger IRCC to focus on your application, although there is no guarantee. |
jaydave:I quite understand you. Showing funds in applicant's or sponsor account is enough evidence. You don't necessarily need to buy GIC or pay when the school has not asked for it. VOs do not assume what your intention is without demonstrable evidence to back it up. This is why they created some metrics (Eligibility Criteria) to determine approval or refusal. Even if you have ulterior motive, but you have your applications prepared well and prove beyond reasonable doubts that you are a bonafide student, VOs have no option than to approve your application. Breakfast is due to one or more reasons. On reapplication, if addressed competently and all eligibility criteria are taken care off, applications are always approved. The low acceptance rate for Nigerians that I am talking about is about not readily having subsequent years' tuition fees or strong evidence but give explanations instead. Some Nigerians have done this successfully but the rate of success is low. VOs don't take explanations without evidence. I hope you understand me clearly now. |
jaydave:Scholarship is a good evidence and explanation. VOs don't know or accept you don't have a mean of paying for subsequent years. If you explain you depend on working to finance your education, you are shooting yourself in the foot. I will be willing to learn if you can show me a good number of people who got visa from Nigeria without providing good explanation or evidence on how they would pay subsequent years' tuition fees. If you present any "paparazzi' as POF, you also get 'paparazzi' in your visa application decision. Although I don't know what you mean by 'paparazzi.' |
drealsahmy:You may want to add $3000 as Miscellaneous Expenses. Also, if the duration of your study is more than one year, you must in addition either show subsequent years' tuition fees or explain beyond reasonable doubt and provide solid evidence on how you would pay for subsequent years. While it is easier to provide evidence of and explanation on how to pay subsequent years' tuition fees, the rate of acceptance is quite low for Nigerians. This is why it is advisable to provide and show the tuition fee for subsequent years. |
drealsahmy:I do not know how much your tuition fee is and the duration of your study. Without this piece of information, it will be difficult to answer your question |
drealsahmy:Recent CBN exchange rate is C$1/341 |
Jafian:Yes, she needs either a US transit visa or visit visa. |
hayoBams:Form A is approved at two levels: firstly, at branch level; and secondly, at disbursement level. If your account is empty or has insufficient balance, it'll not be approved at branch level at first. Whether or not you would be called cannot be determined due to intermittent availability of FX except you have a rapport with an insider. Although some will call you naturally without having a rapport, it cannot be guaranteed. There is not enough FX to entertain calling someone: they move on with whoever is ready. |
sunkanmi562:While it is possible for a Master degree holder to go for a lower qualification, it must be on the basis that the lower qualification is a critical addendum to the prior higher qualifications. In my opinion, you cannot have a MSc Construction Project Management and still wish to go for PGCert Project Management within just a year of completing MSc. This does not show academic progression nor career projection at all. You could have MSc Maths and go for PGD/PGCert Business because you are a business manager with 2 years work experience after completing your MSc. with an intent to be grounded in Business which is crucial to your professional goal. You could have MBA and wish to go for PGD/PGCert Data Analytics because you need the knowledge of IT especially Data Science to excel in your current role. Construction Project Management is way too closely related to Project Management. Also, I will ask if you have a work experience between the span of the time you completed your masters and now. I hope you understand my point. This is not to be misconstrued for professional advice. This is just my opinion. It may be totally not correct. |
hayoBams:It takes between 1 week and 90 days depending on the bank, your turnover and your influence. When I say influence, I mean how far your voice can go. If you know the strategies, you can get it done in 30 - 60 days or less. Choose UBA, Access, Globus ( if for Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degrees only), Jaiz, Taj and Heritage. Some banks would call you to deposit money while some banks won't. It is safe to let your money sit in the account. |
Enddystar:1. Police Clearance Certificate is not necessary for Study Visa. 2. You can do upfront medical and submit with your application or submit later or wait until they request. Upfront medical examination pays more because it drastically cuts down on the processing time. 3. Police Clearance Certificate is valid for just three months and not mandatory for Canadian Study Visa. You can submit your application without it and get a decision earlier than those that submit it. It's absolutely not necessary and has no impact on the processing time. |
bucceryor:I guess you mean you have Biometric Letter and Confirmation of Application Submission Letter: if yes, you need not worry much, all you need to do is order for GCMS notes and choose the one that will supply all documents submitted. |
bucceryor:While you may not have access to your application, you should know your UCI number and application number. Kindly ask for the Confirmation of Application Submission letter and Biometric Letter. You should have access to these two documents. You should also ask for the screenshot of your application profile page. Also, you should have only one application number (Sxxxxxxx in a case of study visa, Exxxxxxx for Express Entry, Vxxxxxxx for visit visa etc) and a UCI number for an application. |
I just wish to make the following pieces of information known to those who will like to learn new things and probably who have always held on to some beliefs and myth. 1a. You must submit a birth certificate from NPC or LGA— Myth. 1b. You can use an affidavit (a document signed in a law court of any jurisdiction usually done for a token of #200 – #500)—Truth and confirmed. 2a. You must submit MyBankStatement or printed and stamped bank statement only—Myth. 2a. You can submit a stamped and signed e-statement as well—Truth and confirmed. 3a. Your SOP must be in a particular format or addressed to someone or organization—Myth. 3b. You can write your SOP in any format that best conveys your message and may not be addressed to anyone or organization. The fact is you are literate, write it as you would a letter— Truth and confirmed. 4a. Once you submit your application, you cannot add, fill or correct IMM forms or other documents again—Myth. 4b. You can add more documents as you like and fill, correct or change IMM forms— Truth and confirmed. 5a. You cannot go for a credential lower than what you already have— Myth 5b. You can go for any program level as you desire. All it takes is convincing and tenable reasons material enough to substantiate your claim—Truth and confirmed The points go on and on. I like to try new things and think in ways that are sometimes not in tandem with the majority but are intelligent and wise if given second thought. All these are all I have tried. They all worked out. |
Chubbyface:You can apply for PTA ($4,000 maximum) using the CBN Trade portal if you have bought two-way ticket. |
adeyemieee:I have requested to send you mail concerning the accomodation issue you talked about, please reply my email request. Please note that you may not be able to begin classes before the extension is granted: act fast now, you have up to 90 days to remain in Canada though: the school might resume classes before the 90 days elapse. Applying online will get your extension approved in no time— probably this month. The following links might help you: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=490&top=15 and https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/extend-study-permit/how-to-apply.html |
Good Morning House, I am looking for someone who wishes to share an Airbnb or a rented apartment with another traveling to London, Ontario so as to cut expenses. If you are interested, kindly send me an email. Thanks. |
CornOak:I understand, but this wouldn't have been possible if it were to be in Nigerian universities where we have professors that don't want to hear the word "HND" out of what I call "academic illiteracy". |
Ocool:My brother, whether or not it's easy, she would not have gotten admission for a PhD program in Nigeria. This is to show that something is wrong with us. We are not thinking straight. Here in Nigeria, we just hate to hear the word "diploma" to the extent that many here cannot differentiate between Diploma, AdvDip, HND and PGDip. I once said it here that in the US, one can get admission into Master's degree programs with HND (Pass), some people here disagreed. |
I saw this and thought of posting it here. Our HND is quite different from the UK HND. Don't underestimate Nigeria HND. Even Canada rate HND as equivalent of PGDip. PGDip is higher than Bachelor degree, I hope you know.
