Hello Good people.
I have a dividends that i want to get from an investment company and i intend to use it for my POF. However, I am not using the vendor bank asking me to provide to get my dividends. I told them them i am not using that bank and i dont want to open a new bank account to use for my POF even though they said they are going to give me a letter explaining the lump sum in my new account. Dunno if this is right please
It is right. All you need to do is provide explanations with evidence. Someone could have invested so as to further in his/her education. The important thing is for the funds to be readily accessible and unencumbered

PLS I NEED UR ASSISTANCE MY FIRST SUBMISSION FOR VISA APPROVAL WAS DENIED FOR A FAMILY OF3 STUDY VISA DUE TO INSUFFICIENT MONEY . SO I REAPPLY WITH MY SON USING MY HUBBY , MOTHER AND MY JOB AS HOME TIES.
DID A FIXED DEPOSIT OF 40M IN MY 1ST SUBMISSION AND AM STIL USING THE SAME FIXED DEPOSIT . DO I NEED TO PROF THE MONEY IN THE FIXED DEPOSIT.
I advise to pinpoint the main reason for your visa refusal using the GCMS notes. A fixed deposit is not a cash asset readily available. This might be the obstacle. Instead of guessing, get GCMS notes.

I thought you would ask how. If you send to Nairobi direct, they might not add it.

Ensure you submit using the webform. Ensure you use the webform not designated for Nairobi. Use the general one.

Alternatively, send the documents in an email copying Abuja, Lagos, Accra, Beijing, London, Nairobi etc.

Intelligent analysis with GCMS notes will profer a solution.

If you claim you had sufficient funds and were refused visas due to financial reason, this may be an indication that you did something wrong or not in a proper way.

Please can anyone suggest a cheap school in Canada where I can apply for diploma certificate? Also, is advisable to do a one year diploma course or 2 years
The word "cheap" is ambiguous, you may want to define what you call "cheap."

You should do a one-year course if you don't have funds for a two-year course.

If after the first one-year course, you have saved up enough to pursue a second course, you can pursue it. This is what we call 1+1 method.

Note that a one-year course will get you a one-year PGWP and a two or one-plus-one year course will get you a two-to-three-year PGWP. Some 16 months courses can also get you a two-to-three year PGWP.

Meanwhile, if you get a one-year PGWP and you are able to get a qualifying job after your study, you will be able to become a PR earlier than those who study a two-year course.

Pls I need help, I submitted my passport through ups to VFS last week Friday, am yet to receive mail from VFS Lagos that they received my passport, pls am worried, has anyone experience this, what should I do
I want to comment not only for the purpose of the post above only.

IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE YOUR PASSPORT BACK ON TIME (2 - 3 DAYS)
1. Anywhere you are, send your passport to VFS Abuja direct.
2. If you didn't do your biometric at VFS Abuja, pay #9,910 or close to that amount for transmission fee, you need not pay SMS fee.
3. Pay for two-way courier through UPS (currently UPS, VFS doesn't accept two-way courier from DHL anymore: they might in the future)

You will get your passport stamped within just 1 day of arriving Abuja by IRCC and expect the remaining days for courier service to return to you.

This process should not take more than 3 days if you are sending from anywhere in the South West.

Please my people, I have HND, pls do I need to send my transcript to WES for evaluation before applying for schools for admission in Canada for PGD as a friend suggested to me. Thanks
While a small percentage of schools require credential evaluation, a large percentage of schools do not require credential evaluation for admissions.

This means, you do not need WES evaluation for study purpose.

Good afternoon bosses. I have been reading all through but I must say, I get confused the more. I need people to come to my aide and proffer a solution

My Fiancee and I are HND graduates, we are planning to marry this year and at the same time travel out to Canada through study route.
I have a small business I'm doing and also an external lecturer but my babe has a small business also. We both have our Passport ready. My questions are:
Note: Ikr,that I have to start by searching for schools but still I'm confused.

1) Does PGD allows for dependant or what degree can she pursue as the M.A?
2) Can we both travel out at the same time if she applies as the M.A and I serve as Dependant?
3) Do I need an agent to run this?
4) As for POF please, we are borrowing from this POF agents, but please how do we run the POF if we want to apply?
(5) Marrying and then applying I hope it won't affect our chances please? Or do we need to back-date the certificate and if we have to do that, she has her family name on her passport, won't that cause issues? (We have been together for more than 7 years).
)) What do I need to know please.

Please help me out,we planned for UK before but this UK no dependant problem.
@Headward
Kindly take note that this is a public platform where many people visit from time to time, I will advise that some of the information divulged in your post may be detrimental to Nigerians.

1. POF agents.
2. Borrow from POF agents
3. Backdating of certificate.

As far as I know, there is no POF agents in Nigeria and Nigerians never borrowed POF. Also, backdating of certificate has never been and will never be possible in Nigeria.

Its for M.A and dependant not both students

I read on the IRCC that for student is $10,000 cad while for the second person maybe dependant is $4,000 cad making total of $14000cad.

Well, I stand to be corrected with the aforementioned information of mine.
You are correct.

You can't calculate living expenses 10k for each of them. Are they planing to stay in separate apartments? Remember it's based on assumption he gets a 1 year program and tuition of about 15k which he can easily find.
For PA.
Tuition average of 15k for a year.
Living expenses 11,000
Miscellaneous 4,000
First dependant 5,000(ideally should be 4,000 cad)
Total= 35,000

In naira that's about 12,000,000 using rate of 344
Your calculation is correct, but to make it scenario based, for living expenses, $10,000 is for the main applicant, $4,000 is for the spouse and $3,000 for each dependent child per year.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents.html

More accurately, in a situation where only the applicant will be schooling and the spouse will be a dependant, total funds needed is;

Tuition fee : $15,000.
Living Expenses $10,000/yr for the applicant
Living Expenses: $4000/yr for the spouse.
Miscellaneous Expenses $3,000+
(If a dependent child is included additional $3,000 will be required)

Total $32,000. ( NGN 11,008,000 @ official CBN rate of $1/344)

I would show around 11.5m to compensate for foreign exchange fluctuation and other miscellaneous expenses.

Hello House,

A friend of mine wants to sponsor his wife for a 2-year Diploma programme in CAD. She is a university graduate but has been in business all along after graduation (over 7 years). She studied English Language but wants to go into supply chain management.

Is there any school that will give her admission considering her background and choice of program?
What are her chances of getting student visa?

Thank you for your time.
A diploma is a post secondary credential which requires an O'level qualification as admission requirement. She will get admission. The school reserves the right of admission offer.

Another point to consider is how to prove career progression.

Also, a crucial point to address is financial sufficiency.

Concerning chances of getting study permit, all applicants stand equal chance but what distinguishes one from another is situation, brevity, satisfactory provision of required documents, financial capability and facts proven beyond reasonable doubts.

No school charges $1,000 for admission processing. Perhaps you want to type $100 application fee.

There is nothing like processing fee except he/she is the one charging this amount of money.

The two year program is Diploma program, but the duration is just 16 months, but for the advance Diploma which is the 3 years program is 24 months.

I applied to a different school last year and I started the online class, but my application took 8 months before I could hear back from IRCC and I was later denied, because by that time they ask me provide my updated LOA within 7 days, but the school already revoke my admission due to late payment of tution..I later paid and the school still requested I pay for the courses I have to retake before they could reinstate my admission, which I couldn’t provide within 7 days.

The course I applied for then was Business in Digital Management.

So I’m just skeptical about the 3 years diploma and the amount of POF I have to provide and also if I’m addressing my previous refusal I will have to give VO a good explanation on why I’m switching course.

What do you think ?
If a program reads 3 years, it is a three-year course. When they say 1 year, they don't actually necessarily mean 12 calendar months.

Before you apply, I am already seeing gray areas: viz, academic/career progression and financial insufficiency. It is a wise decision to eliminate or mitigate against any seen and known risk. You will do well to address them.

Please stop and get the analysis of the deep water you want to jump into.

If you applied to a three-year course, are you ready to provide the POF that can cover the three years?

Let us suppose that your yearly tuition fee is $15,000 and you want to take out possible risk of visa refusal due to financial resources, are you aware that you would need to show that you have $45,000 to cover your tuition fee for the three years? Are you aware that you would need to show $30,000 living expenses for the three years?

Since you have HND in Marketing, why not apply for Post Graduate Diploma? How do you want to justify the relationship between Marketing and Graphic Design? Is your current profession graphic design?

Kindly take the above calculation and instances into account, compare with your 7m and make a decision.

The agent was one who got the lawyer for me… and I don’t even have access every time I talk to him his always telling me to relax that work is going on
For what purpose is the lawyer employed?

Is it for the purpose of study permit or to fight the PFL?

For whatever reason, you need no Nigeria lawyer. You also need no lawyer for study permit application.

The only time you need a lawyer is to address a ban or inadmissibility or to challenge a decision. Only a Canadian immigration lawyer can do this and not a Nigerian lawyer.

Meanwhile, if you believe you cannot competently respond to the PFL, you can seek the advice of a professional and not necessarily a lawyer.

Hello Guys

Please I would appreciate your advice on this

I studied Management and Accounting

I got an admission at Fleming College to study Business (BNT), which is a 2years program without co-op and also an admission at Seneca College to study Business Administration in Marketing for 3 years program with co-op.

My concern is that won’t the duration program be of a concern to the VO when assessing my application and also another concern is the large POF I would need to provide for the 3 years program.

Which one would you advice me to with ?

I will appreciate everyone input.🙏🏼
I suppose the two-year program is a diploma program and the three-year advance diploma.

If this is true, you will be ready to address two issues alongside others: viz, academic or career progression and large POF required.

Since you have had a bachelor degree, why not apply to a post graduate level courses?

Post Graduate Diploma or Post Graduate Certificate is a 1 year or more for some courses.
Master Degree ranges from 1 year to 2 years.

Pls I need honest advice for someone who already has a Netherlands MSc degree with no solid work experience since 2015 but has a small start-up company in Nigeria and want to relocate to Canada, can he apply for a Postgraduate Diploma course and not have issues regarding visa grant? Cos he cannot pay for another MSc and would like to go for a programme without thesis since he already has acquired SUCH in Netherlands. He just needs a professional certificate but should be recognised by the Canadian embassy for visa. Can someone please say if he should apply for studies again and is it true that students who do not make an initial deposit for their tuition will be sent back home at Canada airport even if it is a no=deposit programme ?

Can someone please post the new full requirements for study visa application if you want to self fund or use a sponsor?

For example, will the sponsor have to provide evidence of landed property and tax certificate if he already has CAC document?

If it is a limited liability company, will the sponsor have to show evidence of relationship ties with shareholders and attestation of birth certificate/ notarized relationship affidavit with the sponsor?

If it is self-funded and you have your own company, but you have zero balance in the current account but money in your savings and will you have to show proof of former employment places that were listed in your CV before you set up your company etc?

I am just reading different requirements requested here and there please I want one or two persons to please list the detailed requirements for Canada Postgraduate Study Visa (single person), Conference and Tourist visa (single person) as of 2023 so I know how to prepare the documents and which pathway to choose based on the availability of documents for any of the visa type.

Thanks
You have many CFA questions packed in one post. I will try to answer as many as possible though.

1. Pursuing a lower qualification program is not a problem if you can provide convincing explanations to back it up, although it is not easy but it is doable. People with master's degree have successfully applied for diploma courses-- a two-year post secondary program-- and got visa approvals in the past.

This means your wish to go for PGD or PGC can be justified. Not everyone wishes to invest 3 to 4 years to pursue a PhD. PhD should not be seen as a must have.

2. If your school does not require that you pay a tuition deposit, you don't need to pay it; but you will find it difficult to point out one school that doesn't require at least $500 or something to reserve your seat.

3. As per the requirements, each person's situation is different. Generally, you need to provide your admission offer letter, tuition deposit receipt if applicable, your proof of funds (bank statements, GIC etc), transcripts and certificates, Statement of Purpose, proof of ties to home (marriage certificate, landed property document, business etc), medical examination report if ready, international passport and digital photo and many more depending on your case.

Ok so what diploma course can one do with just BSc?
If you have a bachelor's degree, you should enroll for post graduate diploma, post graduate certificate or master's degree.

Meanwhile, if you wish to go for a diploma course, you should be ready to provide convincing explanations as to why you have a higher qualification and choose to pursue a lower qualification.

However, if you are applying with just O'level, you should be fine applying for a diploma course, but you will hide your bachelor's degree forever which you don't want to do.

What’s the best way to approach this scenario!!

A friend has gotten admission into a Canadian college. Her dad is late and she’s being sponsored by her guardian who is based in the USA.

The guardian has been responsible for her education for the past 5 years in Nigeria and has paid 70% of the Canadian tuition fees using his credit card and is willing to also drop his bank statements, notarized letter of sponsorship, employment letter etc. However, he is not willing to send the pof and balance of school fees to the student nigerian bank account due to nigeria foreign exchange issues.

What is the best way to go about the visa application to proof that he is obligated to make all the necessary funds available to her?

Asides the notarized letter of sponsorship, evidence of payment of fees from his American bank account, what other docs should he provide to help solidify the application?

@ShowYoung @macsilver @bullstriker and every other member.
My take on this is to eliminate all possible risk. Your guardian can buy you a GIC to further prove his commitment.

Let us suppose that your total tuition fee and living expenses is 25m, your guardian has 30m in his/her account with 5 children still schooling. Automatically, it is evident that the guardian cannot sponsor you. The VO would dispute your guardian's ability to finance your education. Nobody would give someone 25m out 30m when there are still other responsibilities around his/her shoulder.

The only time it will be good to have the funds reside in your sponsor account is when the ratio of your finance is way less than the remaining balance after deducting your cost of studying. An example is if I promise to be responsible for someone studying to the tune of 25m and I have 50m in my account, it is understandable that I have the financial capability given that that person I want to sponsor is closely related to me because VOs know that I won't be so generous to give 25m to just a brother of my brother that is given birth to by another mother different from my mother's mother.

I hope you get the gist.

I was denied today even with 15m
Compound reasons given were based on finance even after paying 50% of my tuition😞
Kindly request for the GCMS notes, 15m that is your own is different from 15m that belongs to your sponsor.

There are ways to address issues and arrange documents when it comes to sponsorship.

Each case is different.

Also, your program cost, program duration among others are crucial factors.

Another thing to consider is whether or not your sponsor deposited that money into your account and back it up with valid documents.

Also, does your sponsor have an unexplained lump sums?

People who used sponsorship with just 10m have gotten visa approvals. Everything depends on your approach.

Thank you for ur feedback, no lump sum. I worked for every penny I have legally. I only decided on paying my full tuition upfront and using a GIC hopefully it will increase my chances as I don't want to apply a 2nd time

IRCC does not intend to investigate the source of your funds so long it is not a lump sum as study permit application is quite different from Express Entry. Only the source of lump sums are required to be addressed.

You just need to explain that your funds emanated from past savings which you have accumulated from your past and current jobs which can be evidenced by your employment contract, offer letter or employment reference letter.

You need no paystub/pay slip, it is only in Express Entry they need those to justify your work experience and the fact that you really worked for the employer you are claiming to have worked for and not for the sources of your funds.

Meanwhile, you must explain the source of LUMP SUMS if any because they don't want you to go borrow this fund.
You are ok to go

Yes, they keep records. You must be consistent with the information you give out. In fact, they will ask you in your application.

You can imagine if they can go as far as investigating your past visa refusals/applications with the US, the UK, New Zealand, Australia etc, how much more do you think they would do with information at their fingertips.

Is it advisable I go through the PR route as it enables me become a citizen as at when I will be done with my PhD or I should just go through the student route?

Thanks
If you have time to wait to get your PR before starting your PhD, going the PR route is the best because of the followings;

1. Low tuition fees about 1/3rd. PR holders and citizens pay way less than international students.
2. Bursaries.
3. Study loan from the Government of Canada.
4. Scholarships for Canadians and PR holders.
5. Free health insurance.
6. Subsidized housing.
7. No struggle in bringing in your family members. All of you get PR at the same time.

I have a BSC in computer Engineering from Sweden but I got admitted to Fanshawe college for a PGD in Business Analysis, although I worked as a customer support representative in sweden for about 2 years after completing my BSC in Computer Engineering, but I don't have employment letter or anything to show that I actually worked as a Customer support representative here in Sweden. I currently work as a production worker in an Automotive company also in Sweden for 1.4 years, I have my work contract, payslip, employment letter from this job.

Do you think not having my previous employment letter or payslip, etc is going to have a negative effect on my application? How can I bypass this and get a PPR
