Topgags:You emailed me twice and I responded twice. |
Chiziteremary: Nbv1:I wouldn't have put my mouth in this if not for the purpose of people who may be willing to immigrate, study or work in Canada but haven't found a way. @Nbv1 While I understand your perspective, kindly allow me to show you how you could have conveyed your message more constructively. I think the first three lines of your post sounds uncomfortable. Also, you are correct in saying people should travel to Canada with a lot of money. @Chiziteremary I understand your perspective too. You may want to omit "...don't listen to any negative..." Although it does not sound discomforting. It is a word of encouragement. I do not judge anyone. Both of you are correct in your opinion. My perspective. While it may be expensive to live in some part of Canada, I think it is not wrong to say Canada is worth trying to immigrate to, work in or study in. Toronto is just a small part of Ontario. Bills may be expensive in Toronto but not the same in St Thomas, Woodstock, Sarnia, London etc. These places are in Ontario. Even some people are running away from Ontario because they say it is cheaper to live in other provinces and still get the same thing or more than you can get in Ontario. Let us talk about Nova Scotia, Halifax per sé, the same 2 bed apartment you pay $2500 - $3000 for in Toronto costs just $1000 - $2000 in Halifax. Even, it's $1000 - $1300 in some small cities in Ontario. Meanwhile Halifax has a population of close to 920,000. This is a big city. Not everyone wants to live in Toronto. It is known that Toronto and Vancouver are expensive and can be compared to New York. You can get in Calgary what you can get in Toronto. Calgary has a population of close to 2m. Life is not as hard in Calgary. Meanwhile, you don't need to live in a 2 bed if you just need to live in a 1 bed, you can even rent a 1 room and jettison 1 bed. It all depends on your lifestyle. Let us do some analysis here. Wage: Minimum wage in Ontario is $16/hour. Minimum wage in Alberta is $15/hour. Rent: Rent in Ontario (Toronto) for example 2 bed $2500 (the price may be higher). 1 room in a shared apartment is $1200+ Rent in Alberta (Calgary) for example 2 bed $1700 (the price may be lower or higher). 1 room in a shared apartment is $700+ Population: Toronto: 6.3m. Calgary: 2m. Let us choose, where would you like to live with just those simple data? Many people are home owners in Regina, Calgary, St John's, Oromocto, London etc yet the same wealth would not buy a home in GTA. You choose the kind of life you want to live. Also, I would accept a job that pays $30/hr in St Thomas, Ontario instead of a job that pays 35/hr in Toronto, Ontario. One fact to note, Toronto, Vancouver and other big cities are not for people earning minimum wage. People should get that fact. If you are earning $30/hr, why would you find it difficult to live in Toronto? What kind of life are you living? You will enjoy Toronto without being stupidly rich if you can take care of your rent. The truth is one can earn more and live a more comfortable life in Ogun State than in Lagos or Abuja. This is a practical fact and not an assumption. I hope my analysis and analogies are clear enough to understand. |
Willie3040:It takes 21 to 45 days to process. Transfer the money into an account in a commercial bank and back up the lump sum with the microfinance bank account statement and provide valid explanations to back up everything. Then you are good. This is my thought and may be incorrect. |
Phamoxy:19.5m may not be enough considering the sharp increase in foreign exchange rate, the second year tuition fee, the balance of the first year tuition fee among others. While many but an insignificant number have been able to get visa approvals with just a minimum of one year POF, majority are not favoured by this in this part of the world. This is why it is always better to show POF for the whole 2 years. |
Dessymond394:19.5m may not be enough considering the sharp increase in foreign exchange rate, the second year tuition fee, the balance of the first year tuition fee among others. You will agree that the situation of things in May is quite different from today While many but an insignificant number have been able to get visa approvals with just a minimum of one year POF, majority are not favoured by this in this part of the world. This is why it is always better to show POF for the whole 2 years. |
Fredba:I consider you have paid tuition fee: hence, 1. Living expenses: $20,000 ($10,000/year) 2. Miscellaneous expenses $3,000+ This is for an individual-- the applicant only. |
Oyesquare10:Admission into Nursing program is highly competitive. You should start your school application now for the next academic year. You should also note that it may be difficult to secure admission into 3rd year of Bachelor of Nursing degree. If you want this, you can search for 2-year Post Degree Bachelor of Nursing degree of the University of Saskatchewan https://admissions.usask.ca/nursing-post-degree.php#top This is designed for degree holders. It is a post degree program. Or Start afresh from year 1 of normal Bachelor of Nursing degree. Alternatively, you should note that B NSc will make you an RN and Diploma in Nursing Science will make you an RPN. Both are professional nurses. You can enroll in a Diploma course to become an RPN. RN:-- Registered Nurse. RPN:-- Registered Practical Nurse (should not be confused for Registered Psychiatric Nurse that requires a bachelor degree to get) |
Phamoxy:You should focus on POF-- form of POF, presentation, sufficiency among others. People who have refusal reasons like yours have high chances of success upon reapplication if they work on and tidy up POF aspect |
Oyesquare10:Anyone can study in Canada so long you meet the eligibility requirements. Some of the concerns you may need to address are: 1. Your status in the UK currently. If for example it is established that your work permit will soon expire and it would be difficult for you to remain in the UK, it is logical to assume that you are trying to gain entry into Canada to escape returning home. This will put you at a disadvantage. 2. Proof of Fund. 3. Purpose of study cum Career Progression/Academic Progression etc. You will do well to address those concerns and more. Kindly note that this is my thought, it may be incorrect, outdated and may not be good for you. It should not be regarded as a professional or immigration advice. |
Fredba:Firstly, I will like to make you aware that nobody can tell you that you can get visa irrespective of your POF because visa approval is a privilege and not a right: while you can have more than enough funds for your study, there is more to having successful application. To reduce to a great extent the risk of refusal due to financial insufficiency, you need the following: I consider you have paid tuition fee: hence, 1. Living expenses $10,000/year. 2. Miscellaneous expenses $3,000+ If you are able to provide more information like the duration of your program, how many people are accompanying you etc, you will be able to get close to accurate value of POF needed. |
Sterling289128:Are the two children eligible for free education? Are the two children minor? Are the two children intending to enroll in a post secondary institution? My response will be based on your answers to the questions above: but generally, if I consider the parent to be either an international student, PR or worker, and the two children are intending to enroll in Grade 1 - 12, the C$ 19K is enough. Tuition fee: $0. Free education till High School. Living expenses $6,000 ($3,000/child/year) Miscellaneous $3,000+. Total : $9,000+. |
subzheero:Yes, it will be enough provided that tuition fee is not included. Living expenses for you: $10,000/year. Living expenses for your child: $3,000/year. Miscellaneous expenses: $3000+ TOTAL: $16,000+ Multiply this value by the prevailing official CBN rate to get the equivalent value in Naira. |
Andreconium:Your post is more of an update about what you intend to do than asking questions. You may want to rephrase your statements. Perhaps, someone who can understand your post better may comment. Kindly wait for others. |
daisy1:Good. At least you know where your passport is now. Those guys can be difficult at times. Without the chat feature, you would have got one response a day which is so tiring and frustrating. |
bennaz:Do not worry much about this. They are suspecting that you may have tuberculosis. This happens especially when you have had TB in the past even if its 30 years ago. The X-ray captured the scar which is interpreted to be TB bacteria. They want to be sure. The sputum is being incubated to find any signs of growth in TB bacteria. Effect. Scenario 1. If there is any sign of growth, you would be required to start an eight-month DOT therapy to cure the TB. Your application would be put on hold, if you meet the eligibility requirements, until after the eight months and it is established that the TB bacteria is totally dead or latent. Scenario 2. If after three months, none of the sputum specimens does not have any growth, you will be called in for another chest X-ray to compare whether or not there is a difference between the first and the new one . If there is no difference, you may or may not be asked to meet with a recommended TB specialist for additional test. If you are cleared medically, your application will be approved if you meet eligibility requirements. Visa approval will not happen until after at least scenario 2 happens. All the explanations above are for when you are in Nigeria. If per adventure the scenario 2 which is the best occurred, when you get to Canada, you would be asked to go for another chest X-ray and speak with a doctor for further assessment. |
francophone134:In my opinion, nobody is certain about the rate they will use. It would be unfavourable if they use the new rate for people who have submitted before the surge in rate. You should also note that they own the right to make their decisions. You should hope they ask for updated POF instead of outright refusal. One thing is close to certainty: those whose application has favourably passed eligibility review before the surge in rate will not be affected. Meanwhile, these people should prepare for updated POF at the point of entry. |
daisy1:While something may have gone wrong on your part too, I believe you can get hold of them quickly using the following methods; 1. Log on to VFS website and use the chat feature to get quick responses. 2. Also, send emails continuously-- 10 times daily-- to Customerfeedback@vfsglobal.com and Canadang@vfshelpline.com 3. Ensure you fill the customer feedback survey by clicking on "contact us", then click on "Submit a complaint" on their website and give a bad rating and write your complaint in the box provided. They must get back to you, although they are slow in responding. 4. Call their customer care line on 2348150199900. The first option is the best and you will get result faster. |
MightyRance:You would say your study permit conditions do not warrant you to apply for study permit inside Canada. It does not apply to all visitors inside Canada. I am not giving you theory. You may want to read and understand section R215. If R215 applies to you as a visitor, you can apply for study permit inside Canada while on a visitor visa. Another point is you didn't understand my post. Did you understand the following sentence in my post? "You didn't even need to leave Canada to apply if you could still stay based on the condition of your visitor visa" |
MightyRance:Provided that you abide by the conditions of visitor visa, you should be fine applying for study permit. You didn't even need to leave Canada to apply if you could still stay based on the condition of your visitor visa. |
IamAlexander: It is difficult to give you a definite answer about financial sufficiency due to the limited information you have presented.@IamAlexander First of all, I didn't say what you quoted with my name. You edited my post by infusing the last paragraph. Although I understand you are trying to pass a message with the statement; I think you should have replied with the statement and not add it as if I was the one that made that statement. To answer your question: Both ways are good. Whether you buy GIC or move the money into her account, it all depends on your case and what will go well with your situation. I know GIC gives the best impression that the fund is solely for study purpose and cannot be easily diverted for other purposes while still in Nigeria. Also, kindly allow me to comment on what you said about getting visa by showing POF for just one year for a course with a duration longer than one year. I want to ask you if you know the percentage of people that got that kind of opportunity-- very few and insignificant. I never said it is not possible but it is risky. I said I am sure that if you show genuine POF covering your program duration, you would have eliminated the risk of refusal due to financial insufficiency. Also, a great percentage of applicants from this part of the world have not been favoured by IRCC for showing one-year POF for courses taking longer than one year. |
IamAlexander:It is difficult to give you a definite answer about financial sufficiency due to the limited information you have presented. However, I will try to answer using the limited information you have provided with the below analysis. Your USD 45,000 = CAD 58,950 @US$1/C $1.31. Living Expenses for spouse $20,000 ($10,000/year). Living Expenses for child $6,000 ($3,000/year) Miscellaneous Expenses $3,000+ ( may be more but $5,000 is ok). TOTAL FOR LIVING EXPENSES: $29,000+ ($31,000 should be enough) If we deduct $29,000 from $58,950, the remaining will be $29,950. This will be used for Tuition fee. This means you should look for a college/university offering your desired course which goes for $29,950 as tuition fee for the entire two years. Judgedment: $29,950 ($15,000 per year) If you can't get a program which has tuition fee of $15,000 per year, your money will not be enough. My analysis is based on 100% elimination of refusal due to financial insufficiency. Normally, IRCC states that a minimum of one year POF is enough. From experience, a great percentage of people in this part of the world has not been favoured by this. IRCC often time do assess applications from this side based on the number of years/duration of study. Meanwhile, some people have been able to get visa approval with just a minimum one year POF for courses taking longer than one year. |
jaymay222:Rejection or refusal? Get GCMS notes first. Before you get the notes, you could pinpoint why you were refused based on some information. In fact, you have identified why you were refused. You know it yourself. However, you can present your case in a better way in your next application. |
segzyndpep:Yes, it is a must because you will not be given an 8-month visa but a minimum of 11-month or 1 year study permit. |
kenoja:Sure, you can. |
Ayobamiaz:Thank you for this information. I used to pay $5 to get it within 10 - 14 days but will try this option out if I am not in a horry (when I can wait for 30 days). Thanks. |
Profdavvy:Thank you for this information. I used to pay $5 to get it within 10 - 14 days but will try this option out when I am not in a hurry (when I can wait for 30 days). Thank you. |
Acknowledged. |
gbengz101:This is for someone residing in Canada currently. If you know someone living in Canada who can request on your behalf, then you can pay $5: else, you have to pay more by using one of many websites. Just type the word "...order for gcms notes..." on a search engine. |
Olugbemi1:If you state out the application details here, people can give you good advice-- although not professional. However, I think you should delete your name from here for privacy reason. I implore anyone who may have copied the post with name in it to edit the post by deleting the name. |
kenoja: francophone134:The POF is not at all sufficient. The reason for not approving the visa is justifiable if you look closely into many factors in this application. Next time, if you tidy up POF among other factors, your chances of getting a positive decision is high. |
Mrblaqjaym:Your GCMS notes reads three refusal reasons. I didn't mean you have applied twice or more time. Even though you applied without accompanying spouse and/or children, your POF is not still enough. Using the old rate of CAD 1/345, your 7m will only be equivalent to approximately $20,000. This is what you need for living expenses for the two years. Where is the money for miscellaneous expenses-- at least $3,000? Meanwhile, if you should reapply, you will do well to take into account new rate of $1/485. Your 7m would only be equivalent to approximately $14,400 and not $20,000 again. Also, you will do well to explain your motivation for going for MPOWER loan to the tune of such amount-- how the program is so important that it can be a reasonable investment etc. |
Mrblaqjaym:From this GCMS notes, I think you also applied for accompanying spouse and/or children and/or your course of study is not one year: if all or either of those is true, your POF is not enough at all. Did you make provisions for enough miscellaneous expenses (3rd refusal reason)? Did you calculate your living expenses based on the duration of your program including those of accompanying spouse and/or children( 2nd refusal reason) Failure to address the 3rd and 2nd refusal reasons gave birth to the 1st refusal reason. This is my thought and not a professional advice. It may be incorrect. |
