Army2022: Good evening good people. I'll appreciate everyone's idea on this question.
IS THERE ANY PGWP ENABLED SCHOOL THAT OFFER'S BUSINESS COURSE IN ALBERTA, NOT MORE THAN 14k PER YEAR.
Or in other parts of the country. I'm asking because if I find a cheaper school, I may change after my first semester or first year. Please share your experience or ideas 🙏 If you wish to remove the filters, I will suggest you check out NBCC, NSCC, CNA, UofSask, UNBC, UofNew Brunswick etc. They have post graduate courses for less than $14k. You also did not stipulate the education level: meanwhile, you can find business courses at diploma or certificate level for less than 12k/year if you check further in BC, Sask, NFL etc. but diploma courses are two years, and certificate courses one year, in duration. |

oluwashola4me: Hello, everyone. My Canadian Study Permit application was submitted on June 01, 2023. But it was full of some inconsistencies, which made me request for its withdrawal. I addressed and corrected the issues in the request tho.
But after some deep reflections, I raised another web form to retract the already submitted withdrawal request, what do you think about this decision pls?
Thank you. You have already made your decision. There is nothing anyone can do at this point. My belief, although may be wrong, is that you are overthinking. This can be perceived from your going back and forth. It is always beneficial to gather enough true information before applying and not overthink after submitting but hope for the best. If after all this, you got an unfavourable decision, you would have learnt, and it should not be seen as a failure. The worst enemy is never to try. |

seunpinky: What’s the best way to approach this scenario!!
A friend has gotten admission into a Canadian college. Her dad is late and she’s being sponsored by her guardian who is based in the USA.
The guardian has been responsible for her education for the past 5 years in Nigeria and has paid 70% of the Canadian tuition fees using his credit card and is willing to also drop his bank statements, notarized letter of sponsorship, employment letter etc. However, he is not willing to send the pof and balance of school fees to the student nigerian bank account due to nigeria foreign exchange issues.
What is the best way to go about the visa application to proof that he is obligated to make all the necessary funds available to her?
Asides the notarized letter of sponsorship, evidence of payment of fees from his American bank account, what other docs should he provide to help solidify the application?
@ShowYoung @macsilver @bullstriker and every other member. The guardian should buy your friend a GIC. This will eliminate the risk of refusal due to financial reason. By buying a GIC, there will be no loss due to foreign exchange. USD 1 = CAD 1.31 as at 5 days ago. |

tosin481: Wow. It seems I didn't even consider no 3,4,5 questions. I have work to do Sincerely.
1. Yearly tuition is 9kCAD 2. My sponsor is showing 35k CAD and annual income of N25m
So grateful for your input With these answers, it is obvious why your application would be refused because of the followings or more: 1. Your tuition fee for the 3 years is $27,000. How can your sponsor having $35k agree to fund you with $27k out of the $35k? Does he/she have no other responsibilities? If you deduct living expenses from the remaining money of your sponsor, your sponsor will have no more money in the account, even, it will run to negative? Is he/she your parent? Even if he/she is your parent, how will he/she survive? 2. Your sponsor is having $35k, but earns #25m ($72,500) annually, how come the account balance is this low? What is the total lodgements and total withdrawals? IRCC uses account balance, credit total, debit total and lump sums to nullify or justify your claim of annual earnings and ability to finance your education. Kindly note that I am not asking you those questions above, they are there to open your eyes to see how your claims may have been flawed. |

What advise can you give someone that has only a Waec certificate and wants to use the study route, please it’s urgent… Yes, it is possible irrespective of your age and qualifications. There are many things to consider: some of them are: 1. Career Progression. 2. What job/occupation are you into now? 3. What course do you want to study? 4. With WAEC, you must enroll for an undergraduate course. |

tosin481: Thank you for your response, Please can you ask these questions and point out some of these flaws. God bless you richly The questions are: 1. What is the yearly tuition fee? 2. What amount of money did your sponsor show? 3. What is the ratio of your sponsor's wealth to your sponsorship. 4. What other responsibilities does your sponsor have? Examples are other children, business etc. 5. What documents did you show relating to your sponsor. There are many more questions, but if you answer the questions above, you will be able to see your flaws (probably). I still recommend GCMS notes. |

tosin481: hello great people in the house, I have been following this thread, but this is the first time am asking question.
My study visa just got refused and am really disappointed. the reason given was;
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors: • Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
Submitted application on 23rd May Biometrics on 31st May Refused on 8th June
I am going for a 3 years program. My program resumes in September, 2023 i submitted evidence of my contribution as POF which is N5m I also used my in-law as a sponsor and his employment documents and pay slip was included.
Any advice on what more I could do to convince visa officer and have my visa approved.
Am in the process of re-submitting another application. I really trust God to get approval this time around. Thank you and God bless you While GCMS notes is the true source of getting the main reason you were refused visa based on financial resources, I can deduce from what you wrote here, coupled with some questions which if asked will not be in your favour, that your application has some flaws. |

Example of such schools is NBCC, they need you to pay just $500 as an admission deposit only, when you get to the school, you may then pay your first semester tuition fee. |

Beauteroyalle: Contact IDP Nigeria to help you with consultation. You can ask to speak with their staff in charge of Canada. After consultation, they will start the process with you from choice of program, school, getting admission and visa application till you get your visa. All at no cost. The school you choose will pay them. However, you must begin the process with them if you don't want to pay a dime. That's how it works we them. I used them and I got my admission within 3 days and my visa approved within 8days. For their contact, search on Google I.e. IDP Nigeria Contact number. I don't know if it's allowed to share their number here. Good luck Visa in 8 daysCaveat Emptor |

Yemisade: Thanks for taking your scarce time to dissect my case. 1. I was referring to documentations like transcripts and CV to reflect employment. I have been a freelance hustler 2. I got an advert from an agent about "work and study in Canada" and presented that option which I believe is easy for me 3. Realistically, I don't think so 4. I don't have any other purpose than to study and necessary work to sustain
Nevertheless, since the diploma route seems feasible, I think I will consider it. Based on the answers I have supplied above, please chip in any further opinion. Cheers! Thanks. Judging from your response, I can see the excitement in you. I don't know you but permit me to use the following words-- dust your ears and let your legs be ready to touch your back head in preparation of running. You are about to make a mistake. You will ask me how: 1. Your responses labelled 2, 3 and 4 are indicators of failure. 2. What is "work and study," normally, if you are a student, you can work part time for 20 hours a week. Why should that be an advert? Well! No offence in being tactical about advertising. 3. Your response that says "...realistically..." should make you ask the question of "how do I fund my study." I am smelling a foul odour that you will be promised not to worry about that. Bro/Sis. Be wary when you hear something like "...don't worry...," etc. If you allow anyone use fake bank statement for you and you get caught, you will be the one to bear the brunt. You will be banned from entry not just Canada only, but also the US, the UK, Australia etc. You should be careful about this. 4. Your response numbered 4 really shows you did not understand my question or do not understand in detail what career/academic progression is. In conclusion, judging by your responses, I can see that you have high probability of failure except you are the one that cannot explain the discussion you had with the agent well. |

Purpleivy: Please can you advise if I can use student copy transcript for application when the school requested official transcript since my institution doesn’t give students the official transcript but can only be sent directly to the institution and takes weeks to be processed. Only the school can provide an answer to this as each school has specific requirements. I know that some schools will ask you to submit unofficial transcripts for admission processing purpose: later, if they wish to offer or when they must have offered you an admission, they will ask you to submit the official one. |

Examples are ledger balance vs available balance, uncleared cheque vs cash in account, bank balance with "PND" on the account, promissory note vs bank balance etc. "Unencumbered" means to be free of liability or debt. Examples: Savings account balance with overdraft on another; bank balance with debts on credit card; someone whose BVN has been flagged etc. |

My former Pof was my sister bank statement and I submitted all the documents required to prove that she’s my blood sister According to the notes you presented, the followings are the issues; 1. You did not explain the source of funds used. 2. You did not successfully prove career/academic progression. 3. You did not successfully prove your purpose of visit or applying to study. You will do well to address the three concerns above and increase your chances of having your visa approved on reapplication. |

kweje: Hi family, What would be most ideal to do in this scenario; Mum is the intending sponsor with a good personal bank balance. Family owns filling stations but company documents showing only dad’s name. He doesn't want to give his statement. Most property documents are in his name. Mum runs the stations so funds goes in and out her accounts. Can both mum n dad co jointly sign a sponsorship letter and affidavit? Saying both sponsor with funds&assets?
Or what would you do to proof funds in a case like this? I want to assume the account is not a corperate account because if it is, I believe you should have no issue explaining. If this is true, I will suggest you do the followings; 1. Let Dad provide an affidavit that they both run the company and the funds go into Mum's account. The account number and name should be stated. 2. Let Mum show some receipts linking and confirming some transactions with the account. 3. Let Dad present company's documents including the registration ones stating his name. The three points will explain the relationships between Mum, the account, Dad and the company. This is only my suggestion and comes out of my thinking and should not be taken as a professional advice. This suggestion and all contents I provide on Nairaland may be incorrect, outdated and should not be regarded as professional advice. |

Ekeowacollins01: Please can SOP and LOE be used interchangeably?...is there a difference between the words? Statement of Purpose (SOP) is used by first time applicants to explain why the visa application should be approved with respects to home ties, financial resources, purpose of visit among other things including what may seem ambiguous if any. Letter of Explanation (LOE) is used for reapplication to address VO's concerns in the prior application(s). It will encompass SOP and how the VO's concerns in the prior application are addressed. Both LOE and SOP serve almost the same purpose. |

Yemisade: Hello family. In order to eliminate documentation bottlenecks, I am considering taking a fresh degree in Canada as against PGD/Master. My fear is that at 37, do I stand a chance of getting admission and visa? I need your advice on how to go about this my decision.
NB: I have Hnd already.
Thanks There are so many things to consider such as; 1. What documentation bottleneck are you talking about. 2. Why do you want to go for a degree and not at least a top-up degree (1 year degree) which is scarce in Canada or PGD/PGC/PBD? 3. Can you show POF for two or more years? 4. Can you defend your purpose of travel considering your choice of program and education level? I believe the bottleneck you are running for is what you want to go meet. Your HND coupled with your job experience are assets to eliminate risks of refusal in many ways However, if you can present your case well, you can be fine. People who have master's degree have got visas with diploma programs. |

You can submit both the new account and the account that has an history. They must be backed by the letter they promised to give you concerning the dividend payment Option 2. You can transfer the funds from the new account to the account with history. You must be able to link the two accounts with the letter they promised to give you about dividend payment. Note that your SOP must be sound in explaining the relationship and reasons for using dividends to finance your education. |
