hello great minds. please I want to know the possibility of deferment of admission in Canada on the ground of unable to pay tuition fee for the first time ? and can I get work permit to get money to pay tuition fee and start school. I desire to study and live in Canada but I have 1.5 million naira only at the moment and I know is not enough for visa application and accommodation if I got admission eventually. please I need clarification to enable me take informed decision.
In this kind of situation, I will advise you seek for education loan. While NGN 1,500,000 (C$4,600) could pay for tuition deposit (C$500 - C$2,650) in some colleges and universities, you should ensure that you have the remaining fund readily available.

You are entitled to work 20 hours per week and full time during academic breaks and holidays as an international student while in Canada.

I think you should work on getting to Canada first. There are people who don't have the money just like you but found their ways through it either by finding a sponsor or education loan or combination.

Hi

Everyone, please how possible it is for me to do a 1yr PGD programme and then apply for masters while still in Canada because I don't want to come back home, I have searched for 2yrs programme so that I can be able to get 3yrs PGWP but courses am seeing does not tally with my degree course.Pls those doing 1 yr program how do u survive at the end of ur programs if u don't want to come back home.
This is feasible. As you gained admission for one-year PGD, also be looking for another admission in a masters program that will start immediately or three months after your first one-year.

Also, you should ensure your PGD is in a theoretical course or courses that can get you progress to masters.

Additionally, some schools do bundle programs in form of PGD + Masters, PGD + PGD, PostBaccDip+ Masters etc

Also, if you mention the program name, you may get advice on schools that offer the same program for 2 years.

Hello House,

I'll need your help on this one.

I have a Bachelor's degree and I'll finish my master's degree this year. Got an offer at centinnial college for an Ontario College Advanced Diploma. Considering that the course only has Bsc as requirement. If I include my Master's degree in my visa application won't tht be an issue? Maybe I'm suppose to go for a much advanced course (phd or PDG)? Well I need this course for practical reasons, and to assist me with the business I've just registered in Nigeria.

I haven't started operations in the newly registered business, but can I have the documents submitted with my VISA application?

Thanks Gurus.
Since you haven't had your masters, I believe you shouldn't include it. This means you are bachelor degree holder.

A bachelor degree holder should go for a business PGD/PGC or Masters depending on your grade if you claim to need business knowledge to manage your business.

This will convince the VO more of career progression.

AdvDip is a three-year undergraduate study, while PGD/PGC and Masters are one- or two-year post graduate studies.

Also, I don't think a business that hasn't started operations can add weight. Nothing is impossible though.

Hello house, silent reader, i would like to know if a can touch my bank account balance even after submitting my application,
Also is it okay if i sponsor myself for a diploma course in canada, i have been working in the same sector i wish to upgrade myself and add more value to myself , my father is late , so i have save some amount of money and my dad has some landed property , do you think that is enough to use or do i need to use my mother as a co-sponsor to my education
You can be self sponsored. If you have HND/Bachelor degree, you should go for PGD/PGC or Master's degree depending on your CGPA so as to claim career progression.

Although, Diploma too can work, but post graduate study will give you more strength in convincing the visa officer of your purpose of visit.

Pls Good evening Showyoung !! how long will this process take ? Same as Normal form A ?
If you pay through Flywire by card or local bank account, it is instant but with high rate: if you choose "Int'l Payment", you are completing the payment via Form A, and this will take as long a period of time as it can. Sometimes, it's 30 days.

Tanks boss,hw about flywire corporation
There are options provided by Flywire, if you choose to pay by card or local bank account in Naira, the rate is around C$1/455 as at June 12: so, it is better to choose "International Payment in USD/CAD/EUR/GBP", this will enable you to use Form A and pay at the prevailing rate of the CBN—C$1/326 as at June 12.

Good day house, please as a fresh graduate who studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering and want to pursue a masters degree in Canada but does not want to study same Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Please can anyone suggest some masters related courses that can show academic progression aside Engineering management.

Thanks awaiting your input
Do you have some work experience?
Do you have second class upper division?

If your answers are 'yes' to the two questions asked above, I will advise you go for a course that relates to what your job experience as this will show career progression instead of academic progression

Hello plss do you think it’s a good idea for me to go for A diploma instead of university in Canada??
Both colleges and universities offer diploma courses and degree courses, It depends on the qualification you wish to pursue.

If you already hold an HND or Bachelor degree, you should go for a post graduate study—PGD/PGC/PostBaccDip or Masters depending on your grade: if you have O'level, you should go for undergraduate study—Diploma, AdvDip, Bachelor degree.

Another thing to look into is how to show either academic or career progression.

If you have no or little job experience, you should target to show academic progression—going for a higher qualification than what you already possess.

If you have study gap or job experience, you should target to show career progression— going for a higher qualification relating to your work experience.

What if I already got an admission for a 4 years degree course?
Admission shouldn't be an issue but visa.

It will do you great benefits if you listen to the advice given that a graduate of HND/Bachelor degree should go for a PGD/PGC or Master's degree to show academic progression.

Meanwhile, if you wish to proceed with your bachelor degree admission, you should be ready to do a lot of convincing as to why you decided to start post secondary education from the scratch after obtaining HND/Bachelor degree. Nothing is impossible though.

Good morning, ShowYoung.

I have a question, are we only allowed to send webforms to the Kenyan office? I'm asking this because I sent emails to like 10 different email addresses including London, Kenyan, Beijing, Lagos, Accra, Cairo, Pretoria etc about my biometrics not changing to Completed but it was actually the Beijing people that replied me this morning that they've fixed it and I checked the portal and the biometrics was showing Completed. So I'm wondering if I can also send a webform to Beijing office regarding medical not updated as well since they seem to be the only one taking things serious.
You can send to as many locations as you wish; one of them may reply.

Even, sometimes, Abuja responds faster than Nairobi despite the fact that the application is being processed in Nairobi.

Staying in a foreign country as a student and utilizing work permit after your study is not an issue. It in fact would give weight to your application depending on how you package your application.

In as much as you left the country at the right time you were supposed to, you should even build on that fact.

Can I use my bro trms portal to pay for my own school fee deposit?

Because I’m yet to have my BVN linked to my email. Went to bank to do mine but it’s not working and I discovered they even inputted a wrong mail.
This is possible provided the following conditions are met;

1. Your brother must use his account number.
2. Your brother has not utilised his quarterly FX allocation and will not be exceeding it if your payment is added.

I advise you go back to the bank and have your BVN details updated with correct information.

Hello House,

I have a lady in question that has finally submitted her student permit application but she did not manage to do her pre-medicals exam. The application is waiting to be processed after one month of submission. Can she still go ahead with medical exams? how can she do medical exams and send it to officer? Does she has to wait until officer tells her to do medicals before she can do that since she has submitted the application?

I will appreciate any ccontribution. Thanks
Medical Examination does not stop visa application processing unless IRCC has asked for it and it has not been submitted. This means the application is still being processed, when they get to the point where they need medical examination, IRCC will surely reach out to you and ask.

An applicant can submit medical examination report upfront to hasten the processing.

The followings are the email addresses you can send your upfront medical report to:

Hi everyone and the gurus please I need your say on this. Is there any much advantage with the VO by paying the full year tuition or just the first semester for a one year program.
If your school doesn't mandate you pay, it's not necessary.

There are occasions I do advise people to make a full year tuition fee payment: one of these occasions is when the VO is in doubt or has concerns about third party sponsor readiness or ability in releasing or committing the fund shown for study purpose. In fact, I do advice the applicant to add GIC if need be.

These options are fashioned for various specific case scenarios and does not apply to everybody.

Your nephew could get admission to take on undergraduate studies (Diploma, AdvDip, Bachelor degree) with NECO result.

Majority of the colleges and universities in Canada accept NECO result. If I should list them here, I may be taking up spaces here unnecessarily.

Kindly type the word relating to "Universities and Colleges in Canada" in your search engine and start reading each institution's admission requirements.

please gurus in the house, with respect to academic progression
is there a difference between diploma and PG diploma?
i wouldn't want to go for a certificate program, cos its mostly 1year.
so would i be qualified to apply for PR after a PG diploma or Diploma?
Yes there is a great difference.

Diploma is a two-year undergraduate study. It is lower than HND/Bachelor degree.

PGD is either a one- or two-year post graduate study. PGD is higher than Bachelor degree, but less than Master's degree. Sometimes, some PGD are ranked as equivalent to Master's degree.

Both certificates— Diploma and PGD— will get you PR insofar they are taught at a DLI and are PGWP-eligible.

Good Day House,

I graduated with Second class Upper in Soil Science and looking forward for an Msc in Environmental Science in Canada.

I have someone who owns an oil servicing company and he's willing to cover my expenses and fees but he's not related to me. The company is big and worth millions of dollars. This literally means his company will be giving me a scholarship. I am from an oil producing community where the company operates and this could as well serve as compliance for corporate social responsibility on his company's part.

Please what are the possibilities of getting a canadian visa with this arrangement? Do they have a block account kind of arrangement? Please, I'd be grateful for your kind input.
This is possible and can get you visa in as much as you are as truthful as possible. It all depends on how you handle your application.

Scholarship is one of the forms of funding recognized by IRCC.

Hello Guru's in the house, Please I've got a question that's been bothering me. Would a 10 year Gap in my Academics be a barrier? Although I've gained some working experience during this years.
10 years of study gap is not a barrier so long you can show that you have been working and are pursuing education relating to your work experience. This will show Career Progression.

It may be difficult to prove Academic Progression if you want to pursue a study relating to your prior education.

Your work experience overrides your educational qualification. Your work experience is your new reality and that is what defines you currently.

After paying this how much did I still need to pay for prove of fund.
You don't pay for Proof of Fund; you will show proof of funds available for your study and living expenses in your account.

Proof of Funds means "show us your fund that you really can finance your education and stay in Canada".

You are not paying this money to anyone but show it in your account. This tuition deposit is part of it because you will also show the receipt of your tuition deposit as part of your Proof of Funds to the visa officer.
