Politics / Re: Edo: Akpata LP Faction Suspends Stalwart For Endorsing Ighodalo by shrinkchido(f): 3:39pm On Mar 31
It's evident Labour Party are working for APC and will go petty to display their trade in practice. What we are seeing in Edo election is people reasoning aligning with competence, and the principle fairness, equity and justice. PDP members worked for Peter Obi in 2023 election and nobody suspended them if not that you have ulterior motive. Asue Ighodalo is the next Governor in Edo state and He represents Edo central.

Politics / Imo Guber: Why General Jack Lincoln Ogunewe Is The Best Governorship Candidate by shrinkchido(f): 2:07pm On Sep 26, 2023
Imo Guber: Why General Jack Lincoln Ogunewe is the best Governorship candidate to tackle the incessant Insecurity issues in Imo State.

Speaking about capacity, character and political willingness in an executive position it will be of great service to espouse on issues only and state to the generality of Ndi Imo the man we want to govern our state and give us a purposeful governance.

Briefly, let's take a toll on General Jack Lincoln Ogunewe's prowess in his capacity to end insecurity in our state;

Extensive military experience: General Jack Lincoln Ogunewe has a solid background in the military, having served in various high-ranking positions. His experience in dealing with security threats, understanding operational tactics, and planning effective strategies would be invaluable in tackling the insecurity issues in Imo state.

Strong leadership skills: As a general, Ogunewe has demonstrated strong leadership skills, which are essential in addressing security challenges. He has the ability to command and coordinate security forces, effectively manage resources, and make critical decisions under pressure.

Comprehensive understanding of security issues: With his extensive military background, Ogunewe possesses a deep understanding of the underlying causes and dynamics of security challenges. This knowledge would enable him to develop holistic approaches to tackling the incessant insecurity in Imo state, addressing both the symptoms and root causes of the problem.

Ability to foster collaboration: Ogunewe's experience in leading diverse teams and coordinating efforts would help him foster collaboration among various security agencies, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders. By creating partnerships and promoting synergy, he can enhance information sharing, intelligence gathering, and joint operations to address insecurity effectively.

Commitment to modernizing security infrastructure: Ogunewe recognizes the need to invest in modern security infrastructure to combat the evolving nature of insecurity. He would prioritize equipping security forces with cutting-edge technology, intelligence systems, and communication tools, strengthening their capacity to respond swiftly and decisively to security threats.

Focus on intelligence-driven operations: Ogunewe understands the importance of intelligence in combating insecurity. He would prioritize the gathering and analysis of intelligence to proactively identify potential threats, disrupt criminal networks, and prevent attacks. By prioritizing intelligence-driven operations, he can effectively minimize the incidence of insecurity in Imo state.

Empowerment of local security agencies: Ogunewe would focus on empowering and strengthening local security agencies, such as community policing initiatives, vigilante groups, and neighborhood watch programs. By providing training, resources, and support to these agencies, he can enhance their effectiveness in preventing and combating insecurity at the grassroots level.

Something is clear here to Ndi Imo, General Jack Lincoln Ogunewe's military experience, leadership skills, comprehensive understanding of security issues, focus on collaboration, commitment to modernization, emphasis on intelligence-driven operations, and empowerment of local security agencies make him the best candidate to tackle the incessant insecurity issues in Imo state.

Politics / Imo Security Mayhem, One Strike Too Many by shrinkchido(f): 4:34pm On Sep 22, 2023
IMO SECURITY MAYHEM, ONE STRIKE TOO MANY

Experience To The Rescue

How long shall they kill our brothers while we stand aside and look?
How long shall they destroy our lives while we stand aside and watch?
How long shall they destabilise our society while we stand aside and shake?
How long shall they waste our essence while we wait on the government?
The questions could go on and on, but to what end?

It is sound reasoning and commonsensical to think that with less than two months to the much anticipated Imo governorship election of November 11, 2023, the state would have been an improved entity from what it was before, during and immediately after the general elections of same year, at least in its security and ease of life. But like every other area of what makes a state, this expectation remains an expectation.

The least any government, especially, one justling to retain a stolen mandate could do is to improve on what was met on ground. However, you and I know that a stolen item is hardly maintained. But we are talking about one complete state of the thirty-six (36) that make up Nigeria. One that was the safest and envied before this present regime that claims to have done enough for Ndị-Imo.

In all truth, it has done enough, but rather than 'for', it is 'to' and 'against' Ndị-Imo; the height of it being that our security forces now need security themselves.
All Hope is lost!

What happened in Umualumaku, Ehime Mbano, as seen in all media on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 where the men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) on official duty were attacked and inhumanly terminated was one attack too many to tolerate under this shameful sham of a government led by the IMO APC, a strong statement of gross incompetence, utter confusion and a call to resignation of the inexperienced shot callers of the affairs of our beloved Imo. But it remains a pity that we are governed by men to whom power is the primary thing.
Sadly, they lay curses on the people should they choose a better life.
Pathetic!

But there is always a better option; an alternative to hope in. Whereas the hopeless government in Imo lacks knowledge of everything that has to do with good governance, especially, the security of life and property, Ndị-Imo need not be reminded “life comes first” and only experienced technocrats are the answer.
Every state is a reflection of the character of her leader. We have seen the character of ours, and desire so little moving forward.

We condemn and reject, henceforth, the government that is helpless in the face of disorder, mute before a chaos with no clue of a remedy no matter how long it lasted. Leadership is about problem solving. That is what we need.
When the security outfit are unsafe and in need of safety, what is the fate of an ordinary Imolite?

Ndị-Imo, the ball is in our possession now. Let us play well and win happily under the experienced security expert, Maj. Gen. Jack Lincoln Ogunewe Rtd., a seasoned technocrat for result oriented government.

Jack is the solution!!!

Politics / RE: Owerri Youth Council Urges Ihedioha To Drop Guber Ambition by shrinkchido(f): 4:58pm On Sep 16, 2022
...Youth Arise Now urge Ndi Imo to shun distractions and detractors

...we are in support of Ihedioha's mandate back to Douglas house

The days of pseudonym are gone past our political cycle and mediocrity can not be permissible in the moral class. It is somewhat ridiculous to ascribe loyalty to yourself when in actual sense you lack decorum when it comes to integrity.

No wonder all the detractors of a man destined to rescue Ndi Imo from this quagmire brought upon us by a rejected supreme court opportunist, clinge to straws rather than issues.

It is no longer news that evil befell Imo state on January 14, 2020 and the people were left with a directionless toga.

During the 7 months stead of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the former Governor of Imo state, there was a government and it was an all inclusive administration that took to cognizance the plight of Ndi Imo as it took to reforms, projects and putting in place a functional institution which put the state in a trajectory many adjudged as a proactive approach to governance.

Every sector was carried along and development did begin from the grassroots.

It is not only appalling but ridiculous to say the least that a group in the figment of their imagination and inducement will put up gibberish as a call for RT. Hon Emeka Ihedioha to relinquish his duty to Ndi Imo.

The 'Owerri Youth Council' if they exist should as a matter of urgency and sensibility retract from this gutter behaviour.

The questions Ndi Imo are asking this author without context are very direct;
Who is Ekperechi Nnamdi Jacob?(who from our investigation on started existing from 2 days ago)
Who are the members of Owerri Youth Council?
At what time did this faceless group work with RT. Hon Emeka Ihedioha?
Who are the members of Owerri Leaders of Conscience?

It will be unfair, uncharitable and abmysal to attribute the rebuild Imo victory to one person or group, for Ndi Imo was on the ballot and won against all odds handing their fate to an administrator, a deliberate servant-leader, a stallion, a man with love for his people, a man entrenched with purpose and mission to rescue Ndi Imo across board.

It will only be morally right for RT. Hon Emeka Ihedioha to recognize that the people have not lost their belief in his mandate by honoring the call of Ndi Imo come 2023 and will also be honorable not to focus on agents of this inept administration who have refused to provide the people with quality deliverables but deceptive approach towards governance.

We therefore unequivocally reject all forms of distractions and task the good people of Imo state to massively continue to support the beautiful bride that started on a good note in 2019 before it was terminated by the ill-fated judgment that has left Imo state in a retrogressive pace.

We also use this opportunity to appreciate the well meaning people Owerri zone who have continuallt shown unflinching support to the Ihedioha mandate which in no distance time will resume the rebuild process and we assure you it will remain an inclusive mission.

God bless Imo state
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The Lagasa community in Ibeju Lekki is being intimidated by MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED with the backing of Dr Mrs Oluwatoyin Akinlade, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.

The community is calling out to the His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari GCON, The Lagos state government and other well meaning Nigerians who can come to their rescue.

It was gathered that DILLY MOTORS is a known and regular trouble maker , and almost bipolar. He believes in the power of money, hence, to stop Dilly from taking the inheritance and Fundamental Human Rights of the Lagasa Community the attention of well meaning Nigerians to come rescue Lagasa from the incessant mayhem unleashed by Dilly and his associates.

The main issues
(1)MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED do not have any land or landed property in Lagasa Community, and as such he is not a stakeholder in the community

(2)The leaders and people of LAGASA COMMUNITY did not at anytime give MESSR DILLY MOTORS LIMITED a CONSENT (either verbally or in writing) for the purpose of application for a CADASTAL LICENSE with the Federal Ministry of Mines or Mining Cadastal Office in Abuja, so whatever consent he presented to the Ministry is Fake, and should be investigated

(3)AT the meeting convened by the Honourable Minster of Mines and Steel in Abuja where all the Dredging Companies in Lagasa Community, MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED, The Honourable Minister of Mines, All relevant MINES organs /Department of the Federal Ministry of Mines, Community Leaders were in attendance, the Community dissociated themselves from the FALSIFIED CONSENT LETTER to presented by MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED.
Messr Dilly also openly denied knowing the community leaders.

(4)The Honourable Minister however in the spirit of Peace, without paying any attention to the FALSIFIED CONSENT BY MESSRS DILLY instructed that all DREDGING COMPANIES should sit with DILLY and work out a commission for the Transhipment they carryout on Mr DILLY'S acclaimed Land.

(5)MESSR DILLY MOTORS LIMITED has been harassing and terrorizing the LAGASA COMMUNITY with Armed Men (We have video evidences of this ugly incidences)
(6)MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED who repeatedly drops the name of one DR MRS OLUWATOYIN AKINLADE-(Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Mines), who he claims is his "GOD MOTHER AND BUSINESS PARTNER".

He Seldom prides the Woman's Backing as a VERITABLE RESOURCE /LEVERAGE, as reason why the entire Lagasa Community can never send him away from their community or/and the Federal Ministry of Mines & MINES Cadastal Office would never look at any of SINOTECH, Or Jummytec, or COMMUNITY'S PETITIONS to the Honourable Minster of Mines and Steel or the MINES Cadastal Office.

(coolThe Federal MINES OFFICER Lagos has issued a VACATION ORDER on all other Dredging Operators in Lagasa EXCEPT MESSR DILLY MOTORS LIMITED. The FMO is working on the instruction of the DIRECTOR OF MINES - Engr Frank who most likely Issued such directive on the instruction of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.

(7)The people of Lagasa Community want MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED to vacate their community.

PRAYERS
(1)The Honourable Minister of Mines, and the MINES Cadastal Office should give attention to the petitions before them from the community and other Dredging Operators

(2)The Honourable should instruct that the Cadastal License of Mr DILLY Should be investigated.

(3)The Honourable Minister should investigate the relationship between MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, and direct her to stare clear of the Lagasa issues

(4)MESSRS DILLY MOTORS LIMITED should. Vacate Lagasa Community

Politics / Buhari Regime Shortchanging The Nation, Maligned Nigerians ~ Youth Arise Now by shrinkchido(f): 9:07am On Jan 24, 2022
Airing his view on the current political trend as regards the Nigerian Senate's resolution on direct and indirect primaries, Ambassador Ajachukwu Sampson Eze, Convener, Youth Arise Now said, "I quite agree that direct primaries will be expensive but not too expensive for us to get the right leaderships across board that will reposition Nigerian nation in its pride of place among the 21st century nations”,

He further expressed his dismay on the Buhari led government's frivolous spending, asserting that, “by the way we waste more of huge amounts in servicing government officials and functions that has no effect in the development of our dear nation then a bill that will address the long over due problems of our nation Mr President played a needless politics with it, clearly it has becomes evident that President Buhari does not understand the complexities of Nigerian problems and he has no intentions of writing his name in gold in the Nigerian history book!

He added, “Quite a pity we lost a golden opportunity as a result of Buhari colossal cluelessness”.

He also commended that the National Assembly who despite the infamous decision by Mr President, made it optional for political parties to choose either of the direct or indirect but regretted that the earlier clause would have been the better direction to bring about the right leadership that Nigerians have been earnestly expecting to have a political resolve to the nation's decade long electoral reform.

Nairaland / General / Fund A PAD For Our Rural Women And Girls by shrinkchido(f): 9:01am On Jun 28, 2021
Fund a PAD Menstrual Initiative was created to enable us to help people in need by supplying re-usable menstrual pad kits. This is a 100% volunteer run initiative which is funded by donations. We donate our menstrual pads kits to contacts and organizations in Nigeria and West Africa ensuring they reach those that need them the most.

We currently need to fund and make 1000 menstrual kits that are needed by January 2022 and expect that figure to reach well over 3000 in the coming months. I have been funding these kits myself for a while now however the demand now far exceeds my ability to financially and physically supply these. Within 4 weeks of launching The Menstrual Movement Initiative we have gone from needing 200 kits to just over 800!!

To fully fund a kit it costs us approx

$25 Basic Pad Kit (includes pads and bag)
$40 Complete Pad Kit (includes pads, soap, underwear, wash cloth, bag)

These kits provide one girl, woman or menstruator enough washable sanitary pads for full time use and will last approx 6 mdonths.

What will we use this money for exactly? While we have received some donated fabric to help make the kits we also need to raise funds to purchase not only more fabric but also the following:

Underwear, laundry soap and personal soaps, washcloths, waterproof bags, more cutting, running costs and sewing supplies (scissors, cottons, ribbons, needles etc).

These kits are essential for those that do not have access to sanitary products not only in Nigeria but other west African states.

Our mission is to empower, educate and support menstruating humans in West Africa. Working together to remove the stigma around periods and create a period positive movement. To do this we need support so we can continue supplying pads kits and supporting those in the community also doing amazing work in the fight against period poverty around Africa.

Our target we are aiming for will allow us to provide approx 800 fully funded Complete Pad Kits and 400 Basic Kits. For those that would like to volunteer sewing pads or sanitary kits, email us via fundapadinitiative@gmail.com

Nairaland / General / Esther Uzoma: My Fairy-godmother ~ Adaora Onyechere by shrinkchido(f): 4:23pm On Jan 13, 2021
The Activist, The Advocate, The Mother, The Sister, The friend, The Mentor, The Leader
A warrior unlike any other, an army, a voice that could not be imprisoned, liberating the women, mind after mind
Tearing down the veils of stereotypes

I think your strength was made else
Where, how does one explain the inconceivable spirit that was in you and that is you?
The way you defied the odds and looked into dangers mouth and saw no cemetery of death ...
Great woman,The King of Queens
You re that which terrified them... both monster and maiden
You were both our cure and their poison
Yet at the same time Woman.

Defined by no man but God,
You re your own story, blazing through our times, turning history into herstory...
And when they told you of all the things you could not be, all the things you could not do... you dared them, smiled in their face and said I am both war and woman and you cannot stop me.

You are an epitome of what tommorow will be today, for me for the Nigerian woman and the women across the African continent.

For all our dreams, our plans I remember and you must know they re to still become for your legacy will live on as you have lived in us.

You came, you saw, you conquered.

Rest in Power Fairy Godmother.
Love you now and always.

Adaora Onyechere.

Politics / Happy New Year Nigeria And Welcome To 2021 - Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha by shrinkchido(f): 3:28pm On Jan 02, 2021
“Happy New Year and welcome to 2021”.

Another year has gone by and a new year is here with us. We have grown a bit more, we have much more to cherish, many more to love and a lot more to be thankful for.

However, a new year comes with new resolutions, new promises and positive changes in our lives that lead us towards a better and more beautiful future.

New Year is widely celebrated on the 1st of January every year, but the celebrations vary on the basis of culture, traditions, countries and regions.

It is a day that gives every person choices and chances to make changes in their lives that will lead to both personal and collective growth, happiness and positivity.

The Covid-19 pandemic and the unprecedented lengths to which we had to go to keep its spread under check also resulted in never-before imagined dependence on technology.

The entire world was suddenly stuck at home with real life getting an unnerving accent of virtual reality as we tried to get close to friends, family and colleagues without actually being there.

For a change, as everyone uncharacteristically trudges towards a new year with caution, there is a lot we can achieve as nation through unifying our concerted efforts towards proactive nation building.

2020 undoubtedly was one of the toughest years in the history of mankind due to the coronavirus pandemic, insecurity and uncommon mishaps that we were faced with. However, we should now forget about them and cheer up ourselves to welcome 2021.

Every year, we celebrate the new year with our families, friends, colleagues and relatives. However, the celebrations must come with caution as the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, taunts.

it’s a chance to welcome a fresh start to reinvigorate our enthusiasm for chasing goals and dreams. I am so proud of all our accomplishments Iin 2020 regardless of the odds and I just can’t wait to see all we are set to achieve as a nation in 2021.

I assure you that “we will be in it together and together we shall exceed our expectations”.

Yours Sincerely
Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha
Deputy Chief Whip of House Representatives
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Politics / Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Felicitates With Nigeria This Yuletide Season by shrinkchido(f): 9:10pm On Dec 21, 2020
Dear Nigerians, 2020 will be a year seared in all our memories. It’s been a year that has fundamentally challenged long established certainties about what we think is safe and what we believe is healthy in all areas of our lives.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought so many changes and challenges to our working lives that were all but impossible to foresee at the start of the year. It has changed the world of work.

Across the world, workplaces and practices have had to adapt to halt the spread of the virus. For many millions of workers, this has meant working from home. Many others have continued to carry out their jobs under extremely trying conditions.

As the Deputy Chief Whip House of Representatives, I am so proud of us as a nation this year - our resilience as a people, forging ahead against all odds. As the legislature continues to work alongside the Executive to secure our workplaces, ensuring the health sector is sustainable for the benefit of the whole society.

When I look to explain how we have managed to overcome the difficulties and even thrive in this most trying of years, I see a complex picture, But if 2020 has shown us anything, it has shown us that a prevention culture has never been a more relevant goal than it is now.

This year was also for us as a nation faced with incessant insecurity alarms and thankfully, we saw it through, raising highlights where our security apparatus must be rejigged.

Whatever the 2021 brings, I am sure that Nigeria, her partners and stakeholders will keep striving to improve working and living conditions of her people. The pandemic has shown that - by working together, whether onsite or remotely - we can achieve a lot as nation with a common goal.

I would like to wish all Nigerians, a very healthy and happy festive season and an even better 2021!

With warm wishes,

Nkeiruka Onyejeocha
Deputy Chief Whip of House of Representatives

As we commemorate the 16 Days of Activism to end Gender Based violence we understand the need for breaking the barriers on non inclusion in the advocacy against this scourge.

Our environment and culture is predominantly male in narrative and In curbing GBV and SGBV we must build synergy, reorientate and work together with our men to speak out on these issues and speak up for our girls. We need to continue to build and groom the minds of our boys through mentorship while they are young at both the community and the primary environment.

#16Days #16Heroes is a short documentary that profiles some of the men who have been at the fore front advocating for women, lending their voices to the issues that affect women.

The objective is to inspire more men towards breaking the barriers of stereotype when it comes to speaking out. Silence is consent - so it is time for our men to speak for and speak out, put value where it belongs and think inclusion.
