Programming / Why You Need Mobile App Development Skillsets. by shugarush92(m): 4:01pm On Feb 01, 2018
The honest truth is that more and more small businesses to large enterprises and corporations are keying into the world of "MOBILE APPS" rather than the mobile OR user friendly websites as used to be the case in the past.

This means that many small and medium businesses have or are in the process of developing their own business apps. This is because mobile apps have become the potent and useful tool in increasing business income stream and credibility as a newbie. According to online survey almost 50% search results originated from the smart phones. This number shows the steady continuous growth of the mobile industry thereby causing a proportionate increase in mobile app usage by consumers alike.

Today, mobile phones are not used only for just mere communication purposes, you can do many things with the help of these smart phones. That is why almost all businesses are using mobile apps for growing their business all over the world. With the help of the improvement in Android App Development and iOS App Development services, the phones, tablets and iPads have become a great resource for people in making life better.

Any keen observer can see that these applications are becoming very user friendly with flexible and creative designs so they are easily accessed by people without much hesitations and difficulties this is because these apps are developed by experienced mobile app developers. The era of just being able to develop user friendly websites and online platforms is fast coming to an abrupt end. Web developers who realize this are taking required steps in acquiring invaluable and fitting knowledge and skills to not just be ordinary web developers but mobile app developers of repute.

Are you a web developer? A newbie or “baba”? Do you have the required mobile app development skills? No? Do the needful today to be relevant tomorrow.

Business / Integrating Bulk SMS Messaging Into Mobile Marketing Strategy In Nigeria. by shugarush92(m): 1:09pm On Dec 04, 2017
In today’s Nigerian business world, it is virtually impossible to survive without consistent and focused aggressive marketing. But since marketing agencies both in Nigeria & beyond her shores are not inexpensive, it is very important to choose the right strategy from the start. Extensive research has proven that bulk SMS messaging and its allied forms constitute the most inexpensive form of mobile marketing around the world.

Below are a few aiding reasons as to why Nigerian Businesses are better served integrating Bulk SMS Services and its allied forms into their mobile marketing strategies to promote and push their online and offline presence here in Nigeria.

• Cost efficiency. Have a limited budget for marketing? Well, most business owners are faced with the very same issue. The good news is that you don’t have to spend hundreds of thousands of Naira to reach your customers via their mobile phones when you impose Bulk SMS messaging into your marketing system. On the contrary, it is one of the most affordable ways to advertise your products or service, build a brand name and boost loyalty from your customer base.

• Efficacy. As with most things in this world, what you pay is what you get when it comes to marketing too. This, however, is not the case with Bulk SMS in mobile marketing. Unlike other low cost marketing options such as sending e-mails that virtually have no effect because they are deleted without being even opened, mobile marketing such as sending Bulk SMSes in particular is very effective because over 90 percent of mobile phone owners read every SMS they receive on their phones & have a 57% action rate on those messages received.

• Reach the targeted audience. Every business wants to reach a specific group or shall we say niche of consumers to benefit from their marketing campaigns. And this is why integrating Bulk SMS in mobile marketing is one of the most effective marketing strategies. In order to be able to reach mobile users, you need to have their phone numbers and permission to send them promotion material. As a result, only those who are interested in your products or service will give you their phone number. This form of Mobile marketing thus enables you to reach more potential buyers at a considerably lower cost than other marketing methods such as TV or radio ads, billboards, etc.

• Immediate effect. Most marketing campaigns need time to show results. Mobile marketing on the other hand with Bulk SMS infused into it yields immediate results. Most people don’t only have their mobile phone always with them but they also have the tendency to read their messages as soon as they receive them.

• Establish a relationship with your customers in the long term. The ability to be able to reach your customers at any time and at any place allows you to build a relationship in the long term. By informing them about special deals, sales, new product arrivals, etc., you will make them feel special and appreciated. And a customer who feels they are receiving a special treatment from your company is more likely to respond to your marketing campaigns.

Nigerian businesses would o well not to be left behind in this brand new multi universe of inexpensive and extensive mobile marketing integrated with Bulk SMS. It is a nailed down opportunity to save huge amounts in cost while guaranteeing huge variations in customer response and engagement
Webmasters / Benefits Of Having A Reliable And Dedicated Hosting Provider. by shugarush92(m): 10:45am On Dec 04, 2017
Professional, dedicated and reliable web hosting services allows viable online businesses to benefit from technical support and better web security which are not available with free web hosting services. For companies that need sensitive data to operate, it also provides the confirmation that data backup and restoration features are available and provided for by the professional web hosting company.

There are numerous benefits and advantages that are accrued to exposing your business website to a web hosting provider with a track record of reliability, flexible tech support & aid and reasonable billing system.

1) RELIABILITY: There are many web hosting service providers in the pond and the average user would find it difficult to get an unbiased idea of the best place to host their site. Large hosting companies provide a cheap service, but the disadvantage is that the customer is lost in the crowd and no one is actually looking after their particular web site. A reliable and dedicated hosting provider offers that unique customer experience of being the “only one” along with tested reliability that your website is being catered for at all times.

2) CONTROL OF THE DATA/CONTENT: A dedicated and reliable web hosting servicing company gives its clients total access to what they post and what it looks like. This is different from any third-party service that offers web hosting for free. With free services, website owners can’t control some aspects of their website. With professional hosting the website owner has no restrictions on the amount of data or the number of web pages that their website can have. This increases site content, better SEO placing and ultimately much better ROI(Return on Investment).

3) DOMAIN AND EMAIL:A reliable and dedicated Web hosting service provider provides their clients with at least one domain name, this allows a business or company to build a brand that is unique and permanent. Also professional web hosting enables the business to have unique web-mail addresses using the domain name of the brand as reference for example complaints@endsars.com.ng, this is unlike Free web hosting accounts usually require users to use a sub-domain that advertises the website of the free service, robbing the brand of much needed identity.

The list goes on and on about how beneficial, business savvy and cost effective a reliable and dedicated web hosting company is and how it trumps any other form of hosting for websites of businesses and brands who wish to cement a reputable online presence. "A word they say………."

Business / Review Article On 3 Bulk Sms Service Providers In Nigeria. by shugarush92(m): 1:20pm On Nov 15, 2017
I like to think of myself as a growing authority when it comes to critiquing several marketing techniques and methods. The one I am going to be putting under the magnifying glass today is “Bulk SMS Service”. I have been shouting it from the roof tops & even below the roofs that businesses in Nigeria are not taking advantage of the utopia called Bulk SMS; they are to pre-occupied with sinking scarce funds in so called conventional marketing techniques which are outrageously expensive thereby abandoning cheaper and more engaging avenues like SEO, Lead generation, Auto responders etc.

To help me buttress my point that Bulk SMS Messaging is the way to go & also to help me avoid been looked upon like a blabbing wailer. I will be dissecting 3 pre-selected Bulk SMS Service providers to see what makes them tick, how they stand out for me and most importantly how they help support or dissuade my earlier point.

Smsgator.com is on trial first, now I had never even heard of this platform prior to 24 hours ago (how many I go carry for head?). Ermm? Where to begin? First off I love the professionalism and seriousness that oozes from the website, very tidy job, the GUI (Graphic User Interface) is on point because I felt like asking the GUI on a date, yea that was how beautiful and accessible she was *winks*. Another positive aspect for them was their company theme “Innovating Messaging” I really felt inspired by it. Their verification process is the best I have seen, I couldn’t send a message without verifying my contact, also I was amazed at their “Affiliate Options”…you could get sms units or even convert your affiliate units to cash. WOW! I also commend their blog option, targeted phone numbers option etc. In all honesty these guys know what they are doing and I appreciate that but I wasn’t impressed by the meager 5 sms units free after registration (Others offer way more) and there were no other advanced options such as SMS Auto responder, SMS Voting etc. They fall my hand for that side, but all in all I salute them.

Next up for C-section is www.smsmarketingportal.com now this is a platform I have heard of and even come across in my forays online (shout out to their marketing squad). This platform has an amazing website, not your average Iya-Alata Wordpress but I am not a programmer & still don’t need to be told that that site is top notch. The registration process also impressed me, it was very short and concise( no too much long story), GUI was looking nice, site map too. Now when in the client area I couldn’t believe my ears and lenses, the platform is just so easy to use. I mean a sharp 9 year old could use it ( not the ones from kaduna by the way) I really enjoyed it. They offered me 12 free sms units, can you imagine? While I giving me just 5 mstcheeew, They had so many options I found it hard to believe example included SMS Autoresponder, SMS Voting, 2-way Longcode, SMS Scheduling, etc Mogbe! But what did me in was the Instant delivery service…That is better than free beer. The feeling of seeing that DELIVERED as status is divine. As usual I had some not so sweet sightings: some of the options were giving me errors, no company mantra/theme, no affiliate option. Wasn’t happy but I will give them the benefit of doubt because I was really blown away by them.

Last up is 5starsmsng.com. I wasn’t impressed by this guys at all maybe that is why I left them for last. Asides the fact that they had a good company mantra “Simple Interface, Instant Delivery” there was nothing to take my breath away at all. No blog options, doesn’t verify your email by sending an activation link, no affiliate option, the website was dull and crappy, very poor GUI, site hadn’t been updated obviously and in all honesty the whole thing just looked like a huge scam. Very Disappointed.

All in all www.smsmarketingportal.com and smsgator.com have renewed my hope and vigor that I am not just wasting my time & that Bulk SMS messaging as a business and more so as a huge marketing tool has a future in Nigeria and all we have to do is accept it, learn, tap into it and reap the benefits it is willing to offer us only if we key into it.
Webmasters / Comparing Major Players In The Nigerian SEO Industry. by shugarush92(m): 11:25am On Nov 14, 2017
There is an old Greek adage that says “In comparison do we know our strengths and weaknesses”. Comparing brands is an age long tradition in business, how do we know which offers us value for our penny if we don’t compare them? Now don’t get me wrong, nothing is perfect that I am fully and un equivocally aware of but let’s say some are more close to perfection than others.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) in lay man terms is a systematic process of improving a website’s or page’s visibility to users on the internet. Period! Don’t allow any digital marketer or sales person spoil your eardrum with anything more. Since we know that above 90% of traffic is directed from search engines such as Google, Bing, Amazon, Baidu, etc. Your website visibility is dependent on the way it is ranked or viewed by these search engines.

Now that we know that our websites are like beautiful brides that need to be seen by everyone at the Wedding. Let us now look deeper into the so called “Big Boys” in the Nigerian SEO Business and how they stack up against each other.

I am kicking off with Siscomedia Limited’s SEO Services. Now first off, the definition and breakdown did it for me when it comes to these guys at Siscomedia. By going through their site I understood the basics of what SEO was all about, how they could help me achieve what I was looking for as it came to my website’s visibility and much more. They also have a free “Competitor URL Checker(with link, keyword and email options), a thorough break down of their services ranging from Competitor analysis, research for targeted keywords, optimized content creation, submission of articles to directories etc.. But what finally sold me was the Testimonials by satisfied clients and “FREE SEO AUDIT” offer, as a guy who loves awoof! I just couldn’t resist. Then on a not so positive note, I kind of felt that the SEO Picture used on the site could be better and the if the prices stated for the services were even negotiable.

I then looked at another major player in the SEO industry, Crank Digital. I am a very hard guy to impress but the design of their site is just amazing, felt like doing my honeymoon in the site. They did the needful by telling me what SEO was all about maybe not as in depth as Siscomedia Limited. One highlight of their pitch was “Your website can generate significant revenue but without online visibility, it will struggle”, it was like an advice from Aristotle himself…very clear and precise. Then I think they lost my vote by broadening out to Social media optimization, Search engine management (what’s the difference), Content marketing and List building. Aren’t all these meant to be under the SEO package? Or they just wanna double bill? Your guess is as good as mine.

Finally I had the unfortunate pleasure of looking at SEOinNigeria.com, Asides the atrocious name; I mean who ever came up with that name should be deported.  I didn’t see any tangible content as to what SEO was all about as a novice that I am, there we no break down or staging of services to be rendered under the package, no testimonials from happy clients rather they were more interested in shoving their digital marketing pitch by so doing deviating from what their name implies. Plus they had the audacity to advertise Web Designing also, then why name yourself SEO in the first place? Why not SEO AND WEB DESIGNING AND HOSTING IN NIGERIA? So that we will know that it’s their birth right. Let me just stop there as it concerns SEO in Nigeria because I am already pissed at them for wasting my data.

In conclusion, companies like Crank Digital and Siscomedia Limited are on the right track as it concerns SEO in Nigeria…lol. But more needs to be done in terms of awareness of why SEO is so important to business owners who have their brands online and how much they stand to gain from delving into this virgin land called SEO in Nigeria. Someone should please sue those people!... Remember “Without online visibility, your online business will struggle”

Another sweet note i just remembered about Bulk SMS Messaging is: Though there are various types of messaging services provided by telecommunication companies, the concept of bulk SMS has gained some popularity for its simple, reliable and speedy functionalities. Sometimes due to one issue or the other we might not be able to contact a person (client or customer) through phone call; however with help of a SMS, we can convey our message in a short and precise manner instantly.

Webmasters / Why You Need A Trusted Webiste & Hosting Service Provider For Your Business. by shugarush92(m): 1:08pm On Nov 07, 2017
Do you have a business or brand here in Nigeria and don’t have a website or professional blog? If you said yes, it’s almost as if your business doesn’t exist then. In this modern era, people and companies are on the internet for information. Why do you think people visit a website? It’s primarily to find information. And if you’re in the business world, information is critical. You need to have a website for your customers. It needs to contain information about what you can do for them.

Below are just a few of the advantages and benefits of having a website with reliable web hosting for your business/brand:

Less Expensive
Have you ever advertised your business through various forms such as printed media, radio, television or by other means? It’s expensive! Investing in advertising is necessary, but it takes a lot of money. Having a website will make promoting your company less expensive. Many versions of offline advertising available on the internet are sometimes free.

Advertising
A website is more environmental friendly when it comes to advertising and marketing. There are lots of ways to advertise your products or services through the internet. One example is Facebook ads, an advertising feature offered through Facebook. Another one is called SEO. This is a major advantage for your business. Having a good SEO service provider can boost the ranking of your website which quickly results in increased sales and higher profits.

Satisfaction
Having a website will be more convenient for your customers and leads. Make it easy for your customers to purchase from you! Many will be more likely to visit your website, rather than driving a car to your physical location and browsing for your products. From a customer’s point of view, it’s better for them if they don’t have to ask anything. They can just find what they’re looking for on your online site.

Increase Sales
If you are a business owner, more visitors leads to more potential sales. That’s how your website will help you. You can drive more people to your site by consistently updating and promoting the contents of your site. The more informative your site is, the greater the possibility of increasing your sales.

Opportunity
A website gives you the opportunity to prove your credibility. You have to tell your customers why you deserve their trust through your website. This can earn positive feedback for your service and products. Also, your website serves as a place for a potential investor to explore what your business is about and what it can do in the future.

DND is even more than a headache and more like a cancer for Bulk sms service users and even service providers. The even more irritating part is that most network providers put people lines under DND by default without permission of the users. Then opting out becomes another gbege!
Business / Bulk SMS Service In Nigeria. My Experience So Far. by shugarush92(m): 9:37am On Nov 02, 2017
A popular saying goes thus “A prophet is not appreciated in his own land” same can be said for bulk SMS messaging services in Nigeria. In my honest and personal opinion, it is one if not the most underappreciated business & marketing tool this side of the equator. The funny thing is that Bulk SMS Messaging is being used by the so called “Big Fishes” such as Telecom Giants, Retail chains, Companies etc. to such great effect but the “little guy” is still yet to open his eyes to how best to utilize this weapon in assuring success in his business venture.

I won’t lie; I am not a veteran unlike my boss in the usage and utilization of Bulk sms messaging service in Nigeria. I began using this service some 6-7 months ago out of necessity because of my job description but truth be told its been like discovering fire all over again. Bulk SMS Service in my limited experience has been both sweet and sour but mostly sweet. The ease and efficiency with which my messages to clients is astonishing, talk less of its flexibility and user friendliness (if you are on the right platform). Bulk SMS sweet sha! Don’t even get me started on the area of Delivery Reporting system (again, if na better platform you dey use). Then ultimately there is that air of originality and seriousness that comes with sending and even receiving bulk sms most especially if it is toned specifically for you example “Hello Ugo”, the nostalgia is indescribable.

On a not so sweet note on my experience in using Bulk SMS Messaging service, where do I begin? Well, let me kick off with the dreaded “DND Palava”. I can’t remember a worse feeling than that of seeing your well composed message rejected due to DND. “E dey pain well well”, then there is the issue of payment flexibility, network reliability and user friendliness. As most things in life, Bulk SMS service in Nigeria isn’t perfect. But then again, what is?

By and large I still hold on to the notion that more needs to be done to opening the eyes of the average Joe especially small business owners on the untapped potential that Bulk SMS messaging and its allied services have to offer. The world has gone online and mobile, we have to go with it so that we don’t get left behind.

What do you think?

The world is reducing its unhealthy dependence on oil and shifting towards agriculture. Research has shown that in 20years time, individuals who invest in food production and its allied products will rank amongst the richest people on the planet. This just goes to highlight its importance

My company used this bulk sms service and also the seminar autoresponder service when we were planning for registrations for our
summit this year.
www.smsmarketingportal.com in my view is the premier bulk sms and lead generation service provider in west Africa.

We chose this mobile platform because they were the only service provider who rendered instant delivery reports to its users to know when
messages were delivered and refunds when they were not.

Looking forward to trying out their scheduled messaging service though...heard its the first of kind

Thanks again to www.smsmamrketingportal.com for the good job.
Business / Benefits Of Having A Bulk Sms Service With Delivery Reports by shugarush92(m): 10:45am On Oct 20, 2017
First we have to ask ourselves what in the world is a “Delivery Report”? and why is this word so important in answering the question on whether Bulk SMS Service Industry is a Hoax?

If you’re currently using a bulk SMS service provider, you’ve probably realized by now that the SMS industry has not been very transparent with its efficacy and desired results to end users. Each country and carrier has their own rules about what type of traffic is allowed and it is difficult to know the intricacies, so it is always necessary to know if your sent messages are indeed reaching their intended targets or is bulk SMS messaging just a hoax?

When you send an SMS, it first goes to your SMSC, which stores it for you and will try to deliver it. This may temporarily fail if the intended recipient of your sent message has bad coverage or if their phone is switched off. If the message does reach the phone, it will send back a confirmation that it has received the message, back to the SMSC. If you have requested to get a delivery report, the SMSC will create one, which you can request within 48hours.

Some reasons for poor delivery of your bulk sms messages could be;

Using Cheap Routes: Some bulks SMS providers use cheap routes.- this done by shady characters and tactics used to maximize margins by some bulk SMS providers-. Techniques such as SIM boxes and “grey” routes are illegitimate ways for businesses to connect to the telecom network for a very low cost. With sending bulk SMS, the general rule is that you get what you pay for. SIM boxes, due to their illegality, are shut down by carriers and lead to extremely unpredictable and unreliable message delivery.

Filtered Content: If I asked you to think of a few obvious examples of countries with banned or filtered content, it would probably be easy for you to come up with a few like China or Saudi Arabia, where the government controls what information citizens are allowed to receive. Aside from the government filtering certain types of content, there is also the issue of what the carriers will allow. In Japan, for example, if there is a URL in the body of the message then the message delivery will fail. Those messages are classified as illegal, and are either discarded completely or the part of the text that is illegal will be removed.

Incorrect Sender ID: The Sender ID of a message is the “from” field that is shown on the users mobile phone when they receive the message. The fragmentation and complexity of the global bulk SMS industry is also shown here due to different countries and carriers having different rules as to what can be displayed. By Using a certified and verified Bulk SMS Service provider the sender can easily determine if the intended message to be sent falls in line with guidelines stipulated in using a sender id.

Types of delivery report you’ll get if your bulk sms provider offers this feature.

The following delivery report types may be returned by the SMS Gateway:

Type Description

REJECTED: If a message is not accepted by the carrier, the SMS Gateway may make several more attempts to submit the message, according to a retry strategy. If the message still has not been accepted once the retry strategy is complete (or immediately, in the case of permanent errors such as invalid destination), a REJECTED report is returned. Rejected messages could also be a result of DND issue

FAILED: Failed means that the message has been failed after it was submitted to the network carrier for delivery.
DELIVERED Delivered means that the message has been successfully delivered to the handset, including billing the subscriber where this is separate.

Good day pals.... we are gonna continue the series of "Why you need to own a website". Enjoy! and please feel free to comment and also share.

A WEBSITE SAVES YOU TIME

Providing information to your customers takes time, whether it’s on the phone, face-to-face, in a brochure, or in emails. With an online catalogue you can provide lots of information about your products and services. Once your website is up and running, it is available to your customers indefinitely, saving you time. And what is time? Time is money!

IT PROVIDES A MEDIUM ON WHICH TO SHOWCASE YOUR WORK

No matter what type of business you’re in, a website is a great place to showcase your work. By including a portfolio or image gallery, as well as testimonials about your work, you can demonstrate what makes your business unique.

IT IMPROVES CUSTOMER SERVICE

Maybe you sell environmentally friendly products and would like to share tips on how to recycle, or perhaps you’re an accountant and want to give your clients advice on how to simplify their bookkeeping practices. By including a FAQ page, adding articles or uploading newsletters to answer all your customers' questions you can keep them up-to-date. What better way to provide them with value added service than by sharing information on your website.

Above are a few more reasons on why it is pertinent and absolutely necessary that as an individual aiming to make money online or a business seeking to make it to the world stage owning your very own website is non negotiable, Do the wise thing and design your very own high traffic, fully functional website.

Do you have a business and don’t have a website? If you said yes, it’s almost as if your business doesn’t exist. In this modern era, people and companies are on the internet for information. Why do you think people visit a website? It’s primarily to find information. And if you’re in the business world, information is critical. You need to have a website for your customers. It needs to contain information about what you can do for them.

Below are just a few of the advantages and benefits of having a website for your business.

1. YOUR SMALL BUSINESS WILL GAIN CREDIBILITY

Today, more and more consumers use the internet to search for the products or services they need. Your small business will gain credibility by having a website. Without one, potential customers will go to your competitors that do. If you already have a website but it is "home-made", having it professionally redesigned will provide your business with a professional image which will inspire even greater confidence. For home-based businesses, this is particularly beneficial since you do not have a store front to promote your products or services.

2. A WEBSITE SAVES YOU MONEY

As a small business owner you probably think you can't afford a professional website, but you can't afford NOT to. Although the cost of designing a website varies, once it's up and running, a website for a small business generally costs under N60,000 a month and, in some cases, as little as N40,000. Compared with the cost of a newspaper ad, when you consider the potential market you can reach with a website, it is a very cost effective way to promote your business.

3. IT WILL ENABLE YOU TO KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS INFORMED

Think of your website as being your online brochure or catalogue. It is much easier and quicker to update information about your products and services on your website than in print material, making it an effective way of letting your customers know about the arrival of new products, upcoming events, special promotions, or any new services you now offer. Unlike print ads which quickly become outdated, your website can provide current information and news.

4. IT IS ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE

A website is available to both your regular and potential customers 24/7/365 providing them with the convenience of reviewing your products and services when your store or office is closed. With today’s busy lifestyles, this is a great selling point when making a purchase decision.

5. A WEBSITE MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO TARGET A WIDER MARKET

Whether you provide products or services, your website will provide an alternative location to sell them. As a retailer, a website (eCommerce) is a great place to sell your products to a wider market; even services can be made available globally. Don't think you'll be able to sell your products or services online? Don't forget, even cars and houses sell online!

www.siscomedia.com.ng offers the best rates and flexible payment plans for your website development and designs. Looking for reliable and space friendly hosting for your site, www.reliablehostng.com offers your one stop solution for all your domain and hosting problems.
