Termination: like I have explained about termination with gratuity. There are also termination by employer as per article 120 where you loses all your entitled gratuity.
I will list all the article 120 later.
Career / Re: Coming To Dubai by Shukran(f): 3:25am On May 18, 2016
Gratuity is paid after completion of 1 year and above continues services. It is paid according to your contract.
Limited or Unlimited.
Gratuity is 21days per every service year for Limited Contract of 1year and above. Limited contract are mostly 1year or more.
Unlimited Contract are contracts that are automatic renewed after completion. Some contracts are for 2years or 3years.
Unlimited Contract can be terminated by employee or employer. If it is terminated during probation, the employee does not get gratuity. When terminated by employer after completion of 1year and above continues service, the employer is to pay you 21days of your basic salary for every completed year of service. But terminated by the employee in writing as per resignation, you will get 1/3 of 21days ie 7days for every completed year of service between 1-3, 2/3 of 21days ie 14day of every completed year of service between 3years to 5years, 21days for every completed year of service if you have worked 5years on the dot. And 30days for above 5years for each completed year of service and most not be more than your two years salary. All gratuity are based on your basic salary.

I will talk about the Gratuity, termination of contract and the Labour Market.
The Labour market define your contract and how long you can start in a particular job. There are 3 type of sponsorship. Labour, Free Zone and Immigration.
Labour: when hired, you have to complete your contract at list two years before you can leave the company or otherwise.
Free Zone and Immigration: you can quite your job during probation either within 3months, 6months or at any time you wish.

I hope I am posting this in the right session.
I guess it is the right time for me to enlighten my fellow Nigerians on what they need to know before coming to Dubai for a job or paying an Agent to get a job for them. I have also received calls and emails. Nigerians we have a long way to go and to redeem ourselves from the bad imagine we have created about our country. Ideally employers in UAE can hire from any Nationality but they avoid hiring from Nigeria or hiring Nigerians. Before you give any agent money think twice!!!
Coming to Dubai I mean United Arab Emirates, the 7 Emirates.
Lot of people have fallen victim and with my little experience, I can advise you. Come on with your questions and it will be answered to the best of my knowledge. Please do not ask me to get a job for you.
Comments, Contributions and Live experience are welcome.
Let me start by briefing you little about the country: UAE is a rich, beautiful, clean, well organized and disciplined country. 85% of its work force are experts, which makes it welcoming for all. Everything is controlled by the government and they have made it compulsory for basic amenities to be provided for employee by employer. Things like housing, transportation, food, medical insurance, school fees for at list 2kids for those on family status and flight ticket home when on vacation can be yearly or once in two years depending on your contract. Gratuity are paid at the end of your service after completion of 1years continues service and above. The Labour market is diverse.

CeoNewshelm:

Barely 72hrs after the Tiwa Savage video on marriage with TeeBillz. An insider source with Pepsi and some other world class brands confirms dropping the Nigerian music star and Mavins first lady Tiwa Savage later this week as Brand Ambassador.

Meanwhile, sources confirmed that TeeBillz was arrested about an hour ago for questioning by Nigerian authorities on cocaine usage as reported by his super star wife in same video interview where she cleared the air on her marriage challenges.

We can recall that Nigeria's pop star Davido was arrested for questioning by the NDLEA; a Nigerian Drug Law outfit after a substance believed to be cocaine were seen on the footage of his music video "Fans Mi" which featured US rapper Meek Mill.
It not a scam. I stay in the UAE, I did the same to get my job. But I applied here and followed it up here. But since you are in Nigeria thats's how jobs in the GCC(Gulf Cooperation Council) reply if you apply from another country. You applied through dubizzle in Nigeria that's why. Go ahead bro. The 1000 aed is a deposit for your working visa which costs around 4000aed. The balance will be deducted monthly from your salary when you start the job because it's the company that will do for you with their money. Dubizzle is a very safe site. It's scam free. It's virtually almost impossible to be scammed on dubizzle. Go for it. If there's a phone number try to call them first and confirm because they are meant to give you an invoice for your payment. The refund will be given on presenting the invoice.

Good Luck

I work in the UAE too and I work in HR, visa and my ticket was free, I did not pay a dime, moreover visa with the medical fitness will never cost AED4000. I guess you are the scammer!

1. Oman don't use dihrams.
2. Did you register with any recruitment agency?
3. Most middle east recruitment are solely sponsor by the company without you paying for the offer.

Health worker you need to have their license first to practise, which is not cheap. But technical skill can work provided you have experience especially in Gulf Countries. One last time please don't give anyone money to get you job in Dubai. If compAny is hiring you! They sponsor you to dubai including your flight ticket, visa, accommodation, transport and food. Don't fail victim of scammers. I was transfer from Aabuja to dubai, I did not pay anyone. Or alternatively you come on visit visa if you have a place to stay! Look for job and you company will change you status from visit to residence but you must still exit the country which your company, take care of the expenses. Everyone foreign worker in dubai must have a sponsor bewarned! Don't fall victim. not encouraging about working in dubai. As a person on ground there. What are conditions of people skilled health personnels like nurses laboratory technician and other?
Health / Re: Woman Delivered Of Triplets In Lagos, Dies Few Hours (pictured) by Shukran(f): 8:19pm On Nov 07, 2015
vivianblog3:
Obinna Nnanna’s joy knew no bounds last September 23 afternoon, when his wife, Ijeoma was delivered of triplets, two males and a female, after nine months of their marriage. When he returned home that evening, he was already thinking and planning how to put together an elaborate bash, as his resources would permit him to welcome the babies and their mother home; moreso, when the bundle of joy was coming just nine months after they got married.

They were expected to stay some days at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Gbagada, since she delivered through caesarean section. However, the joy turned sour, as fate dealt a crushing blow on him, following the death of his wife about 3am the following day.

Obinna said it was the worst news he has ever received in his life, and thought his world had crumbled.

“She was delivered of the babies about 12pm on September 23. I stayed with them till 9pm, since the hospital management would not allow a visitor to stay with a patient over night, so I left. I was sleeping when my phone rang about 3am that I should come to the hospital immediately. I had to call my friends, one of them brought his car and we rushed to the hospital and by then, my wife was already dead. I asked what happened and nobody was able to tell me anything reasonable. Nobody could tell me what happened to her.

“All my neighbours visited her that day she delivered and she spoke with everybody and they promised to come the following day to see her, but the story changed”, Obinna said.

Narrating to Saturday Sun, the tragedy that is redefining his life, the widower said they got married on December 31, 2014 in Enugu.

“After our wedding, we stayed few days in the village and returned to Lagos to start life together.”

By the time their honeymoon was over, Ijeoma conceived. Obinna said she registered for antenatal care at a private hospital close to them, and by the time the pregnancy was going to the seventh month, she started developing high blood pressure (HBP) which necessitated her referral to Lagos State University Lagos (LASUTH), Gbagada Annex.

“We used the private hospital for seven months and it was discovered that she was having HBP. We were referred to General Hospital, Gbagada. She was on admission at LASUTH for one month until she was delivered of the babies. Her staying in the hospital for a month was at my instance. I wanted her to be there to have a good rest instead of being at home where she would engage and stress herself with domestic chores.

“After one month of bed rest, she delivered through caesarean section. She delivered on September 23 afternoon and died in the early hours of the following day. I wouldn’t know what happened; I can’t explain. I asked the nurses they said they don’t know, that it just happened all of a sudden.

“I was in the theatre with her; so we came out together to the ward. She wasn’t bleeding and the blood pressure was normal before she went for the surgery. There was no complication.

“Immediately she died, we took her corpse home and deposited it in the mortuary, and we are planning the funeral.

The babies spent two weeks in the hospital after their mother’s death, on the directive and account of the hospital management, in order to give them a close observation.”

Obinna is now playing dutifully the role of mother, except breastfeeding. With the help of good neighbours, he is nursing the babies in his room-and-parlour apartment at Alapere area of Lagos. He has learnt to change diapers, keep awake in the night and feeding them.

“Since the babies were brought home, I have been with them, and with the help of my neighbours, my friend’s wife and her mother, we have been taking good care of them. My uncle’s wife also came from Ilorin, Kwara State, to give a helping hand, but she has gone back.

“For now, none of my wife’s relations has been around; their major concern is with my wife. They are the ones causing the delay over her burial; they have gone to hospital to make enquiries over her death, may be they are not satisfied with the explanations. I have given them date for the burial but they are still delaying, may be they want to have their own date, and send to me later. We are Catholics, and are not supposed to delay burial. Before I travelled home, I met with her elder brother living here in Lagos, and he is the one causing the delay. My wife’s parents are dead.”

On how he is coping with the financial challenges involved, Obinna said, God is using everybody around – his colleagues in Idumota market, noting:“Everybody is contributing his or her own quota just to see that the kids live”.

On the issue of taking the babies to orphanage home for him to concentrate on his business, he said, he has received such unsolicited advice, but he is not giving it a consideration.

“Immediately my wife died, that was the initial suggestion by friends and some other people, but I turned the advice down. I said, I can’t do that. Why would I take them away? I want to be with them; where I would be seeing them every time. So, I don’t take the idea. They are two boys and a girl. The boy came first followed by the girl and then another boy. They have been given names: The first is Chibuike; the girl is Chinenyenwa and the boy is Chimezie. They are not going anywhere; they would remain with me.”

On how he would cope, considering that the people around him may have their own programmes, he said he would cope, as he has learnt to change diapers as well as feeding and bathing them. “Now, I keep awake all night. In the night, one or two or all them may be awake. Three of them hardly sleep at the same time in the night.”

To him, it is a great challenge, which he prays for grace to surmount, stressing: “I don’t want them to be taken away”.

On when he has time for rest, he said, “as you see me sitting now is because they are sleeping, that is my rest. Within a short time one of them may wake up.”

Obinna is from Amaigbo, Imo State, while his late wife, from Eziagho, Enugu State.

Very very truth! It happened in my office just last month. The guy resigned and got a 50% increase and got an apartment for his housing, and from surpervisor level to assiatant head of Department. Jumping 2levels (ie assistant manager next to supervisor and manager before assiatant head of departmnet). Is very depressing and not health for organizations.

A colleague of mine threw in his resignation letter sometime ago and immediately got a 50% increase. I have also noticed that after much appraisal, the increment is not always as expected.

You are wrong with no.2 because it depend on the company and it standards. I work in HR... and the standard is and even when we advertise it stated in the advert that you should attached a photo.
ajahexcel:
It is important to know what your recruiter is looking for and ensure that only those things are presented to them.

Giving less or excess can deny you of your dream job.

Here is a list of 3 things recruiters hate to find in your curriculum Vitae.

1. Inappropriate Email addresses

You know that email address that you created when you were young and without a care in the world? Employer do not like them, especially in a case where you are applying for senior management positions. The likes of babyjoy@something.com, sugarspice@whatever.com etc.

If you are still using these email addresses it is time to grow up, trash them and create new professional email addresses that will depict you as being professional and mature.

2. Head Shots/pictures

Has someone told you that the current CV trend is attaching your photo on the CV? This is not advisable unless the company you are applying for has specifically asked you to attach a photo.

Photos put employers in difficult positions as they put themselves up for questions about discrimination in all forms.

Stick to these simple tips and maybe your CV will receive more attention and consideration the next time you apply for a job.

3. Poor Formatting

Is the font in your CV all over the place? Do you have a mix of calibri, aerial and times new roman for creativity? It is time to introduce your CV to consistency. Choose just one format and stick to it. Do not add color or calligraphy to your document.
