Been awhile guys
Shoutout to @lekiboboe. I don’t know how you keep up with Nairaland while studying. You are a rare gem. Congratulations to those that have been granted ppr and all the best to those awaiting ppr.

To those of you that have been granted ppr and already studying online for winter semester, please complete your winter semester in Nigeria.

Adapting to a new environment is already challenging but doing so during winter makes it more difficult. I must say I am coping much better with the cold than I expected, but that’s because I was prepared and already familiar with the system to an extent.

You’re likely to get lost or miss your bus at some point. Believe me you don’t want that to happen to you in the cold.

The winter is brutal but it’s not all that bad when you are in indoor. You won’t even feel it with a good heater in your residence. My point is that arriving during winter is not a good idea.

Best wishes to everyone.

The stuff im saying is that, people should be aware about style of life in Canada, it's a very cold, depressive, dull and uneventful place to live for an average African. Yall should tell them what they can do to help themselves from those ruthless mental torture.
If you are ever feeling depressed, just read Nigerian news and you'll be glad you're here. Canada is not all bed of roses but Nigeria ehn...

So nobody's going to talk about how boring and depressing living in Canada can be. I sometimes don't know the essence of this thread, only talks about assistance of visa applications, and so on.
You can always return to Nigeria where everything is lively.

Hi,

If my flight (British Airways) is transiting through Heathrow Airport, London, enroute Canada, is it possible to see a friend in London if I have some hours layover?
Except you have a UK visa, you can't.

Please is it advisable to use an Ethiopian airline?

I want to book for my flight with Ethiopian Airline or Qatar Airways .
They are both ok as long as flight is not transiting through USA. Make sure you book early o. Don't mind the person telling you to wait for passport to be returned. Book way ahead of intended traveling date.

My gcms notes is out.
See the attached.
Pls, @Lekiboboe, @frankrobbn, @ shupy, @ justmellow, @makano, and other gurus, I need your explanation and advice.
Tnx a bunch!
Write an LOE ASAP addressing purpose of going for the intended program and source of fund. You must answer questions such as; what does your sponsor do? and how did they raise the money?.
And lastly attach proofs such as CAC documents, pictures of establishment, receipts from business e.t.c
NB: Sorry for the late response. It's hard to keep up with Nairaland when you're working and studying. All the best to you.

Thank you @shupy. I didn't even know there was anything like passenger locator form.
The passenger locator form is only applicable to those transiting through UK. All the best.

Canada have a recommended nose mask to use. Those that landed, did they ask you anything about your nose mask? What type of nose mask did you use to cross the border?
I am not aware any recommendations. I used the regular nonsurgical nose mask

Landing gist

Friday September 03, I arrived at the airport around 4:30pm for a 10:55 PM flight. My parents insisted that we leave home early especially because it was raining and Lagos traffic is unpredictable. They were right.

The queue was long. I was approached by a British Airways official and he asked if I have the passenger locator form with me. I was not aware of such. Gave him my phone to search for the link. I filled and downloaded the form only to be told I do not meet the UK fully vaccinated requirement. I had to fill the form again.

Note: Those computer centers at the airport will urge you to come and print the form. That's totally unnecessary. You do not need to print. You can present a soft copy from your phone.

Went on to check-in my luggages, both bags weighed 23 point something kg. The lady was nice enough to overlook the very little excess.
I presented the documents below;
Enrollment letter
Passport
Covid 19 negative result
Receipt of Tuition fee
Passenger locator form I submitted to the UK government
I forgot to print study permit approval letter, I had to show the lady a soft copy from my phone.
I was asked to wait somewhere while they await confirmation from their source. After confirmation I was provided my boarding pass. I chilled at the restaurant with my family till I was ready to board.

The 2 Flights were smooth and the in-flight entertainment was top notch, but I couldn't eat the meals provided. I was literally feeling hungry. I wouldn't have shared the cookies I brought from home with the passenger beside me if I had known.

NB: Don't ever depend on in-flight meals o. That's probably the only drawback from the journey.

At Heathrow airport, I couldn't access the internet properly despite my phone being connected to the WiFi. Some apps and website were inaccessible. Spent 7hrs there. I was indecisive on what to eat and when I finally did, my choices were terrible. I kept myself entertained with series I downloaded.

NB: Don't ever buy canned coconut water.

I Departed London and landed in Toronto around 4pm. The entire process at the airport was smooth as I am fully vaccinated. Immigration didn't ask any unnecessary question. It was more like a conversation.

I was picked up by a family at the airport. Currently recovering from all the stress.
Best wishes to everyone.

Hi everyone,
Congrats to everyone who recently got their applications approved. May we all receive our approvals soon in Jesus name.

Pls I need help with this gcms note. I applied since May 12.

The area of concern is the “other req” as I noticed it usually appears blank on other applicants’ notes whereas mine is showing in progress.

Your responses would be highly appreciated

There's nothing to be concerned about.

Lastly will 15m in my sponsor account be enough for proof of funds after paying tuition fees because my previous refusal on my GCMS notes is that the VO is concerned of the company account (20m+) I used (maybe it he funds will not be available for me) While the sponsor personal savings is low (5million) then
When submitting a company/bussines account, one must ensure a bank reference letter is provided.
The 15m is sufficient but having your sponsor provide you your living expenses goes a long way to prove you have genuine access to funds.
