Hmmm... Thanks for the response.

I'm not the person handling the finances, so I don't understand everything you just said. What is Form A?

I will use Western Union to pay. The school platform's tuition tab connects me to Western Union. I have to input what I'm paying and then get a quote. From there, there are various options of payment, but I want to pay with the MasterCard. If it has a limit, can I pay repeatedly or what? I dont want to use black market rate because that will be higher than the normal Canadian dollar rates.

I hope I made sense. I can explain anything you don't understand. Just in case, what do you think is the best means of paying and how should I go about it?

I believe you're referring to western union global pay. There's an option for bank wire transfer. Thant's Form A. Select it and download the invoice. You will take the invoice to the bank along with documents listed below.
* letter of Offer
* Passport
* Certificate
* NYSC certificate if applicable
It's stated that the invoice is only valid for 72hrs or so but don't worry your payment will be still be processed. Point that out to the bank. Sterling bank, UBA, Union and EcoBank are some of the fastest in payment processing. The estimated Naira equivalent of the dollar amount must be available in the account. All you have to do is wait for debit. Timeframe could be 1 week to a month.

Can I use a Visa card in place of a MasterCard to pay tuition. The tuition webpage says Mastercard, but can I use a Visa card? Someone said I could, but I want to be sure.

Also, how do I show proof of receiving rent from rented properties? I have taken a survey of my properties. Can I just state it in my statement of purpose or do I need additional documents?
There's a limit to the amount you can pay using a Nigerian card i.e 100usd. Your best option is to use form A, however it can be slow. You can also consider creating a virtual USD card using barter app. It's expensive sha. And finally, you can open dollar account in a bank and fund it with aboki dollar. The card you will be provided with for the account, has an higher limit.

Getting a visa as a Nigerian has always been difficult. Lemme burst your bubble and show you why location where you are applying from doesnt have any negative effect on your visa, do you know that as a Nigerian with Ghanaian resident/work permit, you could get 5 years USA visa when you apply from Ghana? Also do you know that as a Nigerian with Ghanaian resident/work permit, you would get a faster German visa appointment if you applied from Ghana? As a Nigerian with Canadian study permit, you can get 10 years USA visa if you applied from Canada. Location is never a barrier as long as you are legal in the country you're applying from.
This is not even about Nigerians. I'm referring to the experiences of Indians and Philippines living in UAE, Saudi Arabia e.tc. home tie becomes a bigger hurdle to study permit when you're an expatriate. One common question people ask on canadavisa.com when an applicant get refusal notification is "where did you apply from?". There's a reason for that. This is not based on assumption.

Thank you for all your messages.

Application submitted (NSE o) - April 14

Upfront medicals was done before application was submitted.

Eligibility review status updated - July 21st

PPR and Correspondence letter - July 26th

Like I mentioned here before, my study visa to Australia was denied twice in 2019. I knew my chances were low because I applied for a certificate program (Post-secondary) despite having a BSC already. After the second refusal, I gave up on traveling.

My sister (sponsor) reached out to me sometime in February and urged me to consider Canada. For some reason, I was of the opinion that masters was the only option. In fact that was the reason I didn't consider Canada in 2019. After some research, I applied for a post graduate certificate in Global Business Management (Centennial College). Got my admission and I applied for student visa in April. The dreadful wait was long despite providing NSE documents. My PPR landed exactly 1:34am. @Teemenzo had stated over the weekend that my
PPR "will come soon like a thief in the night." And sure it did.

I must add that I'm not the most eligible applicant by a long stretch but like I do say, one must make the most out of every circumstance. My profile in it true self wasn't promising but certain things were in place and I leveraged on everything leverageable.

One of my biggest concern was proof of fund. I submitted my mum's account and sister's bussines account. The business account is the primary account. The balance was sufficient but my concern was that funds are never held for long periods (Red flag). She could have 15m today, and in the next couple of days, the balance could be as low as 100k and there was a period the balance was in negative figures -2m. I wrote the sponsorship letters myself, and I buttressed on some point I already stated in my SOP. Such as, Funds are not kept idle in the bank, they're held as inventories. In the sponsorship letter, I also stated my sister has a good standing status with her bank and is eligible to loan and overdraft facility. I mentioned I will be provided a monthly upkeep allowance of 1k cad. In the letter, I emphasized on my genuine access to funds and demonstrated it by having my sister send me 1.5 m to my account as upkeep allowance for the first quarter of my stay in Canada. I stated the date the fund for upkeep and tuition fee was provided to me. I didn't provide my personal account (I no get money sad. ) I transferred the fund provided to my barter virtual card. The card statement and screenshot of my account was submitted. At that time, the 1.5m was equivalent to about 3,200 USD. I would have preferred having the fund in a dormiciliary account of a recognised bank but time was no longer on my side.

In my SOP, I attached pictures where necessary, especially in regards to establishments. I also made my future prospect seem very promising in Nigeria. I disclosed my failures in business. "Setback" was the word I used and how studying in Canada will provide networking opportunities e.t.c I sha try to package myself wella

All in all, I consider myself fortunate and I am thankful to God. The information provided on this thread has been very useful. Special shout-out to @lekiboboe, @justmellow, @Frankrobbn1 and every other person that has one way or the other provided some sort of helpful contribution to this thread. Gracias to you all.

To those awaiting decision, I am wishing you all the best. And to those that got unfavourable decision, I have been in your shoes. If and when you decide to reapply, this community is going to be here for you. We all have the same goal.

Once again, I say thank you for all your messages.

The bold statement is wrong. The most important thing is having the legal right to stay in the country you are before applying. In this case, the applicant has a resident permit which is valid, so he or she is good to go without any difficulty.
Difficult doesn't mean impossible. So I still stand by my statement. If you read other Canadian visa forums, you will realize it's difficult for an expatriate to get study permit. I've read GCMS notes of Indians living in UAE and Saudi. I mean once you're already residing in a more developed country, it means you're already seeking better economic opportunities so that situation makes home tie harder to prove.

Oh okay thanks, then I should be able to battle the home ties with pictures of me and my family coupled with the family business and lands right?
Yes, anything that shows you and your family are well established in Nigeria.

Please has anyone applied for Canada study visa outside of Nigeria ? I am confused on how to go about it especially my statement of account , since I am applying as a resident in Dubai, I am going to use there police certificate, do my medical here, and even IELTS here and I have a valid Resident ID card, but I don’t have a bank account over here, but as a a self sponsored I have the money required in my Nigeria account , does it make sense if I apply from Dubai and use a statement of account from a Nigeria bank?

Thanks
Your biggest concern should be home tie. That bank statement is not an issue. It's always difficult to get approval in a country when you're not a permanent resident, which implies you're not very established in the country.

Hello again guys, my study permit application was recently refused. And this was the reason when I ordered my gcms notes.
What does it mean? And How do I tackle this please?
Meanwhile, I already paid first semesters tuition (3 year course)

Secondly, I’m supposed to resume by September, I’m thinking of deferring but my course is only available for September resumption.
What happens If I change my course? Will I have to write a new SOP, and change all my information??
Whatever you do, don't change your course. You may however get a new Letter of acceptance from another school offering the program or you go ahead and apply with the letter you have. Don't yet defer. Changing course might complicate your situation

Please is the processing time for Form A different by branches? I processed Form A with Stanbic since the beginning of this month, and I haven’t been debited till now. The deadline for my tuition payment is August 15. Would it be better to go to another Stanbic branch to process the Form A again?
It's not entirely dependent on the branch. CBN is involved. Put more pressure on the bank tho

I applied with just 1 million naira available funds
And I have a transaction history of 500 million

Like someone said yesterday, 3rd time is always a banger
My 3rd time

I promised God if my ppr dropped, I would come and be thankful to this platform.

Make I go call my mama, I Dey come for long explanation.
My goodness 1 million balance?. You're very fortunate. Even with a 10 million balance and 500 million transaction history, one can still be denied on grounds that funds are not held for long period of time and low account balance at regular intervals. A very big congratulations to you. Wishing you all the best

What and what are the requirements .I need urgent help and responses

God bless you all
Ma'am I don't know about UK but for Canada, it's very unlikely you will get an approval. Tell us what you do and your level of qualification? People will be able to make better suggestions for you. This your current plan won't work for Canada. You're definitely going to be needing the expertise of Frankrobbn1 or justmellow. Don't do this on your own. All the best.

Hello great people

Asking for a friend, can she use her husband as a sponsor,can she go with her family when she is going,she doesn't have work experience, she just finished her university thus year, will be possible to go for masters next year,she graduated with 2.1

1. Her husband can definitely be her sponsor
2. She can apply with her family but it's not advisable. She gets her own visa then applies for family
3. No work experience is a red flag but in her circumstance it's very possible.

Is it advisable to send letter to MP more than once on the same Study Permit application?
You can but you need to realize they are not obligated to study permit applicants. And just because a very few got a feedback doesn't mean you will. Study permit applications is the least of their priorities.

You've done what you're supposed to do by ordering GCMS note. I hope you made the order yourself and not your agent. You probably still don't have have access to your account. Are you certain this is your refusal letter because I don't understand why you were presented with a hard copy.

Hello Nairalanders. Trust we are all doing great. After waiting for over 7weeks my GCMS finally came in today and I have attached screenshots for the gurus to help interpret. I noticed my deferred admission letter sent via webform is not updated. I also didn't see an update of my medical though it has been updated to pass on my profile. I see the information sharing is still in progress which is a surprise as my application was submitted since February. I intend to send them business registration documents again as we have submitted at the initial date and some current jobs my spouse is handling via webform tomorrow. Please let me know if there's anything I should add. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone

Please i want to clarify something... I have submitted an application for a study permit, Postgraduate degree and my 11 months old child is accompanying me, my husband is my primary sponsor and my brother (A Canadian Citizen) is my co-sponsor. My husband submitted his "Mybankstament" with a closing balance of 10,047,00 and my brother (A Canadian Citizen) also attached his documents including his Salary account.

The questions are;

* What are the requirements for NSE?
* Is the closing balance sufficient for a postgraduate program? Although i have paid 8,600 CAD as part of the tuition.
* My brother submitted the application in Canada, is it a red flag?
And finally
*How long does it take to receive NSE request letter?

Thanks everyone as i await your swift response.
* MyBankStatement certificate and IELTS
* It should be sufficient considering you also submitted your brother's account
* Very insignificant
* The whole NSE scheme is shambolic. However, since you already provided MyBankStatement certificate, they might just request for IELTS if you didn't provide it. There's no timeframe for the request.
