is the job offer in Sur?
If you ask the company they may be able to give you "family visa" and your family can then move to the nearest city to where you would be...maybe muscat, so you can see them more frequently, perharps every weekend.

Christianity EtcRe: I Dont Love Him. But He Said He Heard From God by shushu(f): 9:35am On Oct 23, 2012
my sister, if he has been at it for 3 years, please let the guy go.Allow his heart to be free to love someone else.
If God has not confirmed it to you in 3 years, please kindly tell him, he is not the one for you.
I know you want God to confirm it through people, as you well know, Gods ways are not mans ways.He may or may not decide to confirm anything, he may just expect you to trust Him .
Dont we all wish someone could walk up to us and say God told me about what you are going through and he wants you to do this or that, but, as a christian, i am sure you know that we learn a lot through experience and maturity.

Please stop seeking the "fleece" if this has gone on for 3 years, please let the brother be.

HealthRe: Women How Do You Deal With Period Pain? by shushu(f): 2:12pm On Sep 11, 2012
After suffering for many years, the gp recommended MEFENAMIC acid and tranexamic. These are the best.
Mefenamic acid drastically reduces the cramps and tranexamic reduces the blood flow for those with very heavy periods.

I always had to take the first two days off work when my period started, every 5 weeks because i could not walk once the cramps started, but with the mefenamic, i walk about normally. Its a life saver, please ask your gp for it

FamilyRe: What Is Wrong With Me? by shushu(f): 11:20am On Aug 02, 2012
one door closes, another one opens.
that you had bad experiences with "so called friends" does not mean you should withdraw from the world.
try again to forgive them so that your heart can be truly free.i will expantiate more on this because that forgiving part isnt easy.first when you wake up and recall any wrongs your friends have done to you, make a conscious effort to think of something good they have done for you, pray about it also as soon as the thought comes, then focus on something else. its hard but eventually, they wont occupy your thoughts anymore and you would have learnt how to forgive faster

This life is full off people that will offend you everyday, but you still have to associate with human beings, so its important not too expect too much from people.
Sometimes its good to learn this early in life.My friend, what your friends have done to you is very small compared to what others have been through with so called friends.
Relax, associate yourself wit more like minded people, guard your heart, forgive faster and move on.life is too short

this is interesting.
why dont we respect and honour our own?
i watched that video and to say i am so proud of Mr Kuti and his crew is an understatement.
The pilot saw that a legend was on board and honoured him, yet his own naija people are saying its an inconvenience.who else should we be proud off? something good comes out of Africa, please appreciate jare.people will also appreciate you in the future.

Well done Mr Kuti, if i was on that flight, i would have courtesied to greet you and you would have autographed whatever i was wearing.

FamilyRe: Being Married To A Nigerian Is Hard Sometimes by shushu(f): 3:12pm On Jun 11, 2012
@armyofone
thats worth a try as well.

@op,
please if the sole reason you want to divorce your husband is because of the money issue, then i dont think that is right.Perharps there are more things going on which you do not want to share.
Whoever you get married to will have a different upbringing from yourself-even someone from the same culture as you.So you will still face challenges with whomever you decide to settle with.

Lke someone mentioned above, if there is no case of abuse or anything sinister, surely it can be worked on.Your marriage is still young.
best wishes
FamilyRe: Being Married To A Nigerian Is Hard Sometimes by shushu(f): 2:55pm On Jun 11, 2012
Imagine the scenario.
husband tells his people to call his wife to say thank you.hmmm. imagine what his people will think of his wife.
At the end of the day, the truth is, once you learn to ignore these petty things, you will be amazed that suprisingly, they will start calling themselves and even if they dont, it wont bother you anymore.either ways, its a win win
FamilyRe: Being Married To A Nigerian Is Hard Sometimes by shushu(f): 1:21pm On Jun 11, 2012
desirel,
actually that lack of courtesy is not peculiar to you because you are a non nigerian wife. It also happens to some Nigerian wives as well.It does my head in as well, but, try to ignore those petty things.Everytime it bothers you, if you are a christian ask God to help take that frustration away, After a while, you wont care whether or not they call you, say thank you etc.
RomanceRe: I'm Broken Wat Do I Do, Its Few Months To My Engagement by shushu(f): 3:02pm On Jun 01, 2012
OP,
a man that cannot defend you in the presence of his family is not worth dying for.
If his family can dictate to him at this stage and he in turn cannot defend "why he wants to marry you" and has been dating you for two years yet didnt notice this incompatibility....then dont waste your tears, God has done you a fever which you will be thankful for in a couple of years.

You will look back years later and be so thankful. That man is a weakling.Pick up yourself gradually.pele
FamilyRe: Can You Point Out Where I Was Wrong? A Loose Loose Situation???? by shushu(f): 2:25pm On May 30, 2012
manheem,
a man has got to do what a man has got to do(in a legal way). I have been married for some years and i dont expect hubby to tell me every single detail. He is the man and i expect him to take decisions for the family. In marriage commucication doesnt mean we must discuss everything otherwise the world will fall apart.

In your case, establish yourself financially first before marriage. Obviously your wife does not understand your visa or work issues. Sometimes when you are the person involved in a situation, the other party does not understand.

Don't stress yourself, you did what you had to do

FamilyRe: Ideal Age Difference Between A Couple by shushu(f): 11:13am On May 24, 2012
dear poster,
at your age the ten year age difference seems like a big deal, but as you get older, it really doesnt matter.

There are many advantages to having an older man in your life ( assuming that this is a reasonable individual). He will be more patient than someone who is 2 years older than you and will also have a bit more experience career wise etc than someone closer in age to you. Also because of the maturity due to the age difference, the marriage should be relatively more peaceful.

I do however understand your apprehension-you want to finish school and boyfriend wants to get married. When do you graduate if i may ask.If it will be in about a year then you can both discuss the possibilities of waiting till you graduate.

I naturally prefer for a woman to be somewhat established before getting married because you learn to stand on your own two feet, but life works differently for all of us.So if you have a good man, marry him because it is very difficult to get good men its a lot easier when you are younger....i believe this is what jenny was trying to say.

The truth is that, everyone always says what if.Those who get married younger always say what if i had waited. Those who got married later also wonder and those who are older girls and still not married will also wonder if they should have married that guy 7years ago and continued their careers etc whilst married. So there will never be an ideal situation.

you are still single. enjoy the freedom that comes with it.Buy anything you want in your name now.when you get married, decisions are made at a slower pace... if you catch my drift.
