cc,
i never condoned the mans behaviour, but she needs to move on, ify always gets my drift. Its 2years ago she lost the pregnancy, theres no need for her to compare herself with other families who had kids after them. The man will not change, she has to get stronger somehow otherwise depression and we dont want that

what you have written above i.e taking up a job till you achieve your dream, is exactly what a large part of the human race does before achieving or attaining their dream.
aha you have classical music to keep your soul active, well done

FamilyRe: My Son Lied To Us For Three Years, That He Was In The University. by shushu(f): 6:22pm On Dec 03, 2011
madam,
sorry o. Its one of the many things life throws at families, same happened to my brother.
I dont now what to tell you, but i read the advise from one of the posters blacktide i believe and it seems workable.i have copied and pasted what he wrote below.i alos want to ask, is there any reason why you dont want him to attend open uni online?thank God he has an alternative solution.

"Dear Overwhelmed,

If your family resides in Lagos, the external/part-time campuses of Lagos State University [LASU] at Yaba, Anthony Village, Ikoyi etc are another option to the National Open University. They offer flexible part-time university studies over 5-6 years; classes run during the day and evenings as well. The academic programmes are approved by the NUC. A family friend's daughter was expelled from her university in 3rd year for irregular admission. She enrolled at LASU and eventually graduated with a 2:1

Perhaps, our son can get a part-time job or start a small business while studying. That might help induce a greater sense of personal responsibility in him."

Thats why i wondered if she really understood my post.
Its all good, i know what women go through in the op's situation and tough love is required, only someone else in the situation can truly understand and advise appropriately.
But Jenny sabi insult sha-let me go and look through some of the words again.lol grin maybe i can plagiarise one day

dear original poster,

please grow up a little bit more.Stop winding yourself up more and more. Yes your husband beat you lost your baby-sorry about that, it must have been a painful experience.
However, why are you living all your married life "trying for a child"?Do you really believe that is the whole purpose of marriage? You are comparing yourself to your friends who got married after you and have children? Do you realise how frustrating this is for your husbandhuh?? He has already told you not to worry. Would you prefer a husband who believes your sole aim is to have children and probably kick you out because you dont have themhuhhuh

Please live life and stop all your complaints about not having kids and him not understanding.what exactly do you want him to do?he isnt God you know.
You are being too needy and that is why you husband prefers to spend time with his friends-actually there is nothing wrong with that as long as it isnt over done.

Ignore your own desires to have kids for a moment and look for other people in more serious situations than your present worries-it definitely helps one to be more grateful to God.
Join a focus group or some other group that can get you out of your present situation.

If you do not have kids for another 4years is this how you would carry on.

Darling-get a life
and this comes from a lady who has been married for more years than you with no kids.

Regarding the other issues-back door etc, if you dont like it, dont do it-your husband probably doesnt know you dont like it

Christianity EtcRe: Will I Be Making A Mistake By Becoming A Jehovah's Witness? by shushu(f): 11:12pm On Nov 07, 2011
Hello freecocoa,
many years ago, i was at the same point you are now.I had done the organised christianity and was sick of it all, i had been a church worker and ALL the works.I tried so many other ideologies/beliefs/practises.Read and studied about many religions (i dont want to go into details).
I admired the way of thinking of quite a few of these ideologists and in my mind, was done with regular religion.I come form a background where i am allowed to explore my beliefs.
Well, i didn't particularly find anything wrong with the things i was dabbling into-in fact i preffered them to christianity, but i had no peace in it all.The more i dabbled, the more questions i had.

At a point in all this, i read the book of Daniel in the bible and realised that they did sorcery as well-that heightened my confusion-is God then okay with sorcery?I was thoroughly confused. No church or organisation had the answer.I argued with every christian that came my way-very opinionated bunch. But something happened.I spoke my heart out to whoever the true God is/was out there.

I said if you are really there, you show me what to do.i dont want anyone to teach me, you do it and the change started gradually. God showed me through everything i  was studying from philosophy, to budhism, to everything i dabbled into-too ashamed to even mention some things, he showed me first his love, that it wasnt wrong to seek him and that finding him is a lot simpler than the way we do it now.

The summary of the above is,please stop looking to any organised religion to find God.Speak to him, ask him to reveal himself to you.For now stop stressing out about whether you should become a witness or pentecostal or whatever-who came up with all these names anyway?

God is not in any one sect.I have met genuine lovers of God in the anglican church-even though they ordain gay ministers these days and the list is endless.
You discover God first and let him lead you.God often calls us to heal others in the areas we ourselves have been hurt.so please separate yourself and let God lead you to help others in your shoes.
God bless you and i have prayed for you that God should help you as only he can

With regards to scandinavian schhols, engineerd is right. The quality of education is superior to most countries. They are really thorough.Tax is very high, standard of living very high as well, but worth it.
CareerRe: Llm @ Robert Gordon University (sept 2011) Or I Decline. by shushu(f): 6:30pm On Aug 04, 2011
Like i suggested, you can do one semester, since your family is willing to pay.Pay for a semester and make your evaluations after that.Just for the experience. Many universities are already used to students crossing over and your first semester is usually general courses.
CareerRe: Llm @ Robert Gordon University (sept 2011) Or I Decline. by shushu(f): 7:57pm On Aug 03, 2011
Aare,
i live in Aberdeen and have also done a masters here before in supply chain.i suggest that you do your first semester or at least one semester here and then do the rest via distance learning.
doing a semester here will give you the feel and culture of the educational system here, the expectations and some networking. This will help you to decide if its something you really want to do.

In my experience, i found the education very sub standard-i guess it will defer per individual so dont take my word for it.I noticed that if you are already established in your field of study, you will totally feel ripped off of your school fees-so pls do one semester only first before you pay the entirety of the school fees.education can be completed at your own pace-there is no hurry per se.most employers are basically willing to see a desire/move to improve on your skills, so its not necessarily about attaining a masters.

If you decide to go the whole mile, please have extra cash, aberdeen is an oil and gas city-similar to portharcourt-it is expensive.accomodation perharps a 2bedroom flat will cost about 500pounds and above without gas and electricity.
Bus transportation fare has recently increased and i dont know if there are discounted rates for students anymore.

Have you checked glasgow universities to see what they have, in my experience it is more culturally diverse-you will meet people from all over the world, whereas in aberdeen 80% of your classmates will probably be nigerian, whilst the 20% will be indian, chinese etc.

I have absolutely no discriminatory bone in my body, but at the masters level, you are not going to be TAUGHT as many assume, you are there to share your professional knowledge and network-this is exactly what you will not get in RGU with that percentage of nationals in your class.
You also will probably not get the experience from your fellow colleafues as majority of them will be crossing over from other fields all trying to get into oil and gas, so many of your colleagues will be from the finance sector etc.In my opinion that is an extreme waste of money (i say again) at the masters level where you should be meeting other professionals.

If you attend one of the ivy leagu schools as someone previously suggested, you will get more value for your education. This is why most of those schools will never accept anyone with less than 3 or 4years work experience in the filed of study.

i can go on and on, but the decision is yours.
all the best
