This new minimum wage will further increase inflation and prices of commodity items, we will be back to square one, it might even be worse for some people because only civil servants who are less than 30% of the population are beneficiaries but people dont want to hear this. Politics › Re: Oyo Workers Protest, Lock Secretariat, Demand Palliatives, Others by sigolisis:
This shows that the South Westerners are truly sophisticated and not bias. They speak out and act when necessary. Oyo state is a pacesetter and other states should hold their own governors too accountable. If you don't hold your governor that collect money on your behalf accountable, you have no moral justification for criticizing other governors or the federal government
Politics › Re: NBA CRISIS: South-west May Likely Follow North by sigolisis: 3:45pm On Aug 30, 2020
The SW lawyers want to do to Akpata, what Awo did to Zik. Zik won the election in the west and was set to become premier. Overnight all the Yoruba members of the NCNC defected to Awo's action group.
The SW are the most tribal people in Nigeria. The North and SS should form an alliance and be done with these SW bigots

Just look at what you typed. If you're intelligent enough you'll know there was no sense in what ZIK wanted to do. Was there no slot for a premier in the East at that time. ZIK first secured his own home with "his brother" and came to the west to contest premiership against a westerner as if there were no capable hands than him in the west. How many Yorubas contested to be premier in the Eastern region at the time, would you have voted a Yoruba man as the premier in the Easter region? Think.

Is the standard of education in the north (jos) the same with that of the southwest? Go and read yesterday (friday) punch, two of the three 2014 waec overall best students are currently UI students, they had A's in all their waec subjects, those are the kinds of students that make 1st class in UI and UI has so many of them. If you're good, you will get what you deserve or do you think all those old professors just dash out marks? Don't forget UI has over 300 professors, whether you respect UI or not it does not change its standard

even oxford univrrsity has never given such a quantity in such a short time

you see how these people messed up education the way they messed up phd...keep claiming prof this and that

yet they just sell handouts
Some guys are just too jealous on this NL, what is too much in 222 first class students out of OVER 7,000 graduating students. What is wrong with having a scholar in a class of about 33 students or more? With the quality of students UI admits every year, there's clearly no discrepancy anywhere, i know some of these guys, they can defend their 1st class anywhere in the world.

Don't be a rebel, appreciate excellence and it will come to you and your children

Hi guys, how's clearance going, hope there are no touching stories from your end? cheesy The process looks simple but it's time consuming, it requires being at the centre as early as 6am to write your name and waiting till 9am before they start to call the list. It's a joyful endurance anyway grin cheesy wink.

If you've been admitted, what's next? If your name is not on the list what's next? Decide on time and act accordingly. GOOD LUCK cool

Many thanks to you guys for joining in pushing this thread to this stage by means of following, contributions (questioning and answering) most importantly our mature conducts in sharing views and opinions without belittling anyone is highly commendable, i am not disappointed that we are DE applicants, we really demonstrated high level of maturity as we proffer solutions to problems unlike some threads where freshers just lash out and insult one another over simple matters. I'm happy we all gained and gave to others from this thread. God will enable us to make more impacts than this on the higher level. Good luck in your endeavour, see you at the top.

This is Sigolisis, I Rep PHARMACY UI wink

I was given admission in d two skuls I chose for my DE (federal & state);I hv decided to go for d federal one wic is UI;now I'm unable to print my admission letter frm jamb website because its only showing dat of d state skul I chose as my second choice;PLZ HELP!
You do not have any problem, you have the right to make your choice as long as you did not buy two JAMB forms it's a matter of 1st and 2nd choice and you're fortunate.

First be sure UI has given you admission, print out the UI admission letter and take it to the other school, they will give you a form to fill (admission rejection form) then, they will from there give you further directives. Pay your acceptance fee in UI and start your registration. It will only cost you small wakawaka, you will visit both schools and may likely be asked to submit a particular form to JAMB.

Congratulations and I pray that the joy accompanying your double blessings will not turn to sorrow

Hello @ all in the house. Please , I plan applying for admission next year with both A' level and jamb utme ,is it advisable to choose u.I for both. What I mean is ,when a name comes out under utme (100 level list) can it disturb or prevent a persons name from being released with direct entry list (later into 200level). I humbly await your opinions before making up my mind and going for utme form. Thanks
I think it's better to choose different schools to avoid unnecessary sweat. The most important is that you're admitted through one of the two if you have what it takes. For now I don't know what would be obtainable

Very true, UTME is easier. The list is a lot more than that of DE, you have a better chance of being given a wide range of course aside from the one you applied for, unlike DE where ur initial qualification has already limited you to a fair few related discipline. Also with DE, your chances depend hugely on the qualifications and grade of those who applied for the same course as you, and since there is limited space available, chances are quite slim (especially in the competitive departments), even with Distinction/First Class, chances are that some might have a higher CGP than you.

All in all, it's always worth a try, congrats to those who got in, remember, always look at the number of folks who didn't as source of motivation, so don't lose focus. That's my two penny.

I applied for pharmacy. no admission offered. medical lab is very professional and you can stand alone. work is easy to get with it. but chemistry though not bad is not professional. to enjoy chemistry u have to study upto phd but you can be so lucky to work in industry alternatively to an industrial chemist. all the job I see with chemistry are just teaching for now.
Yea that's true, smart move. But Mayojaspa, forgive me for asking too many questions, it's bcs I have interest in your case and I want to be sure there's no foul play anywhere perhaps something very important about DE Requirement apart from the ones earlier stated is not made opened by UI. Is your Chemistry degree B.Sc or B.Edu, Do you have your O'level @ one sitting or two sittings or may be there are pre-requisite undergraduate courses you didn't do while in sch. I'm concerned bcs chemistry is the bedrock of pharmacy and you should be considered b4 any other with your upper credit from a federal university (unilorin). It also depends on the available space and the no of DE students and their qualifications. Just let us know bcs you have the right to go to the dean and ask, if there's no bojuboju as they claim. I can volunteer to do that on ur behalf, but need the above info first so that others can contribute and learn from it. It's my Faculty, I shared my own experience @ the beginning of this page, I was admitted for Pharmacy but couldn't do registration bcs I used two sittings and one sitting was not even stated in the requirements. Since that time UI has been putting one sitting for Medicine and Pharmacy requirement. So, we need to know what is missing in your own application as good as it is.

Pls others that applied with B.Sc, HND, ND, ALevel, etc and are admitted, let's hear your views and experience for others to learn incase they want to re-apply. Thanks

Really tired of this DE things self. no admission offered yet. applied with my first degree in chemistry, second class upper from university of Ilorin. yet no admission. just thank God for utme. was OFFERED medical LABORATORY here in ui. utme is easier than De I think.
What did you apply for with your B.Sc Chemistry (upper credit)? Sometimes it's not the certificate that matters but how relevant and related the certificate is to the proposed courses. For example, B.Sc Chemistry (upper credit) is a sure bet for Pharmacy, just as B.Sc Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, etc (upper credit) stand better chance for Medicine. Chemistry is more of Physical Science courses than Biological Science courses, I guess that's why. By the way, are you sure B.Sc in Medical Lab will make a difference than the B.Sc Chemistry that you already have. Pls share your calculations let's reason together.
