pappyrose: Well.....for me I believe reading the bible alone does not guarantee hearing from God because you can read out of context and use it to sooth yourself. A portion of the scriptures says the letter kills, its the Spirit of God that gives live. So many people have read the bible and gotten themselves more confused. You cannot separate hearing from God and reading the bible, remember the Holy Spirit and God are one (Trinity: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit). You cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit if you don't have the word of God in you and that is why the bible says let the word of God dwell richly in you, he says as new born babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby. Hearing and listening level of a 1year old baby and that of a 15year old baby are different, it is the word that makes us grow to that level. We need to study the bible in order to know the ''acts'' of God and how He speaks so that when a contrary voice, idea, dream, vision, etc presents itself you will know that God is not involve. You cannot read it too much, infact the more the better You can read the same verse of the bible a million times with different messages, the same scripture can solve different questions in your mind depending on the interpretation by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is activated or invited during meditation on what you've read from the Bible. Remember, this book of the law shall not depart from thy mouth, thou shall meditate in it day and night........ I salute all the bible scholars with great revelations and contributions on this thread. |
Xriss: My sister is a medical doctor and the following is her employment story..... |
Because of the increasing complexity and scope of patient problems presenting to the health care environment, patient care now routinely combines the efforts of physicians of different disciplines, skilled nursing professionals, and other health care professionals. Comprehensive patient care often involves trying to solve problems which are beyond the scope of expertise and training of any one provider. Thus, the organization of professionals involved in one patient's care has evolved from that of a hierarchy, with the physician in a "command" position, to that of a multidisciplinary team, interfacing many different kinds of health care professionals, each with separate and important knowledge, technical skills, and perspectives. In a teaching hospital, team membership becomes that much more complex with the presence of students, interns, residents, and fellows. How do teams work together? Working together as a team, professionals must balance responsibilities, values, knowledge, skills, and even goals about patient care, against their role as a team member in shared decision-making. Because many physicians, in particular, are accustomed to a practice environment in which decisions are "made" by the doctor, and "carried out" by other professionals, it is difficult sometimes for physicians to adjust to a team approach, in which majority opinion, deference to more expert opinion, unanimity, or consensus may be more appropriate methods of decision-making than autocratic choice. Further, physicians who maintain a hierarchical concept of medical care may face serious problems when disagreements arise with other physicians of equal "stature" on the medical team. Interdisciplinary conflicts are seen in all areas of medical practice, but the operating room environment is particularly rich in examples in which patient care involves interdisciplinary cooperation, conflict, and compromise. Who is in charge in the operating room? Isn't the surgeon "Captain of the Ship"? You will certainly hear at some point in your medical training that the surgeon is "captain of the ship" in the operating room. While recent legal decisions have essentially "sunk" the concept, it is important to understand the ethical and legal terrain. The phrase "captain of the ship" was first used by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1949 in McConnell vs. Williams. In that case, an intern at a charity hospital was responsible for blinding a newborn by improperly applying silver nitrate drops to her eyes. Laws in widespread application at the time provided many hospitals with "charitable immunity" from legal damages, and the parents of the newborn were unable to get money from the intern because he acted as a hospital employee. They therefore brought suit against the obstetrician. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court allowed a finding of negligence against the obstetrician, despite the fact that the obstetrician had had no direct part in the negligent act, specifically so that someone would pay money to the parents. In its decision, the court used an analogy from maritime law, in which a captain can be held liable for the action of all members of the crew of his ship. Since 1949, several key changes have taken place. Hospitals are no longer immune from liability in most jurisdictions, in part because hospitals generally carry insurance against the negligent acts of their employees. Courts also recognize that the scope and complexity of medical practice is such that no single provider generally has complete control over a patient's medical care. The diversity of medical practice and the different forms of training and certifications required for specialty practice testify that different professionals have different expertise and therefore diverse levels of responsibility for individual acts in patient care. In this aspect the law is fair: the greater the authority and expertise asserted in a given act, the greater an individual's legal responsibility becomes. In recent years, many state Supreme Courts have specifically thrown out the "captain of the ship" doctrine in disgust. Cases in which the captain of the ship doctrine has been specifically discarded include those in which plaintiffs have asserted that the surgeon was responsible for the acts of nurses, nurse anesthetists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and radiology technologists, and in which plaintiffs asserted that the anesthesiologist was responsible for the acts of surgeons, nurses, and nurse anesthetists. Ironically, some recent law suits have been successfully pursued against surgeons for the actions of other operating room personnel, only because the surgeon himself asserted that he had, or should have had, complete control over everyone in the room at the time of the negligent act! What are the ethical obligations of members of the interdisciplinary team in patient care? Ethically, every member of the operating room team has separate obligations, or duties, toward patients, which are based on the provider's profession, scope of practice and individual skills. Team members also have ethical obligations to treat each other in a respectful and professional manner. Relationships between professionals on the multidisciplinary team are by their nature unequal ones. Different knowledge and experience in specific issues both ethically and legally imparts unequal responsibility and authority to those care providers with the most knowledge and experience to handle them. But also because of differences in training and experience, each member of the team brings different strengths. Team members need to work together in order to best utilize the expertise and insights of each member. Do I have to do whatever I am told by the attending physician, even if I disagree with their plans? Professional relationships not only exist between different professions, and specialties within similar professions, but between students and teachers as well. The student-teacher relationship is also an unequal one, not merely because teachers generally have more authority than students, based on their training and years of experience, but much greater responsibility as well. An attending physician, for example, may be held both morally and legally liable for the actions of students or residents, whether or not she approved of those actions. Ethically, teachers have obligations to observe and control the actions of junior members of the medical team, both to prevent harm to patients from inexperienced care-givers, and to educate students in appropriate care. Students and residents, conversely, have obligations to their patients and to their teachers, to not act recklessly or without the knowledge and approval of supervisors. Whenever a student or resident disagrees with an attending physician's plans, he should seek input from the attending, both about the reasoning to pursue the attending's plan, and about the reasoning for rejecting her own. A respectful exchange of views may provide both parties with new information, and certainly serves to further education. What is meant by "respectful" exchange of views? Precisely because of the inequality of authority and responsibility in inter-professional, inter-physician, and student-teacher relationships, obligations of mutual respect are particularly important on the multidisciplinary team. Disagreements between professionals are common and expected, because of different knowledge, experience, values, and perspectives of the various team members. While disagreements might be settled in a number of ways, mutual respectful behavior is a mandatory feature of professionalism. Thus, while it is not only possible, but expected, that members of the patient care team will disagree at times, it is never acceptable for disagreements to be verbalized in an unprofessional manner. Respectful behavior begins with both listening to and considering the input of other professionals. Ask yourself whether your perception of whether you are respected depends more upon whether the other party agrees with you, or whether, despite disagreeing, they listened and acknowledged your point of view. Respect is demonstrated through language, gestures, and actions. Disagreement can and should be voiced without detrimental statements about other members of the team, and without gestures or words that impart disdain. Both actions and language should impart the message: "I acknowledge and respect your perspective in this matter, but for the following reasons. I disagree with your conclusions, and believe I should do something else..." It should go without saying that disrespectful behavior from a colleague does not justify disrespectful behavior in return. How can disagreements on the multidisciplinary team be handled? In the best situations, disagreement leads to a more complete inter professional discussion of the patient's care, resulting in a new consensus about the best course of action. The new consensus may require compromises from each individual. When members of a team cannot arrive at a consensus of what should be done, it may be helpful to consult other professionals who are not directly involved in the patient's care team for objective input. If the disagreement still cannot be resolved, another resource may be the hospital's ethics committee, which can listen to disagreements and help suggest solutions. olamidey3: I'm just applyin 4 my transcript, pls can u jst giv me d format of d address; is it like dis; undergradute admission office, university of ibadan, (location) i don't knw.THE ADMISSION OFFICE UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN IBADAN, OYO STATE OR THE REGISTRAR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION OFFICE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN IBADAN, OYO STATE Don't bother yourself on the P.O box or any other thing, UI is known, you just need to specify where the transcript should go when it gets to UI |
Spotless180: they said i should write a letter and pay the sum of 1000naira in bank. I nid the letter format.Application method varies from school to school, some schools just give you a form to fill but if your own school insist on writing application, you can use any format, just make sure you give the most important info in your letter. It's a normal formal letter (as we were taught in secondary school) i.e two addresses, title (Application for Transcript). Dear Sir/Ma, my name is........... YOUR FULL NAME MATRIC NO/STUDENT NUMBER DEPARTMENT/COURSE YEAR OF GRADUATION Also, you must state the school (university) where you want the transcript sent to i.e UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN, UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION OFFICE. Some people address theirs to THE REGISTRAR, it's ok just make sure you include UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION OFFICE in your address. Hope you have an idea now? It is not polite for me to give you any format, use any format of a formal letter but make sure all the information your school needs to process your transcript are stated in the letter. I must not forget to remind you that you need to be on their neck in your school to get the transcript on time, it takes time to process |
Spotless180: Pls those who have collected transcript before should give me a sample letter on how to write the application. I want the transcript application template cos i want my transcript to get to ui latest by august ending from my school. So hw do i write such letter requesting 4 my transcript to be sent to ui.Application method varies from school to school.

NO. The info on UI website is for UTME candidates i.e Instruction for Post UTME screening exercise. Direct entry candidates are excluded from Post UTME screening. Meanwhile, a similar screening instruction will be pasted for Direct entry candidates later (after Post UTME screening exercise), where you will be asked to upload your results and passport on UI website. Hope I answered your question? |

Pls note the following: 1. Address your transcript to UNDERGRADUATE admission office when applying for it in your school 2. Confirm from your school whether the transcript has been sent or not before going to UI 3. Ask your school the exact date the transcript was sent and go to UI to confirm it 4. If your school sent your transcript and it's not found in admission office, it's either hanging at the post office (i.e UI has not gone to pick them) or it's been taking to UI POSTGRADUATE admission office, hence need to go to PG admission office to search for it. 5. If your school has not sent your transcript, there is nothing to worry about (UI has not even requested for submission of transcript), but start processing it now so that it can meet up 6. If your school has sent your own transcript, there is need to go to UI and establish that fact and do the necessary as bidey4real rightly stated above. 7. Start processing all other documents you may need for that admission that are not readily available with you e.g statement of result (waec/neco), birth certificate/sworn affidavit, school certificate/testimonial, NYSC certificate (if applicable), etc 8. If you've not yet obtained DE JAMB form and you wish to, there is still hope but ACT FAST. SUCCESS 2 ALL |
thepathologist: can u allow pharmacy technicians with more than 20yr experience to head pharmacy dept? can u allow pharmaceutical physcians to head pharm. industries? pharmacists should lead industries not dragging hospital leadership with doctors. pharmacy is a nice profession.i do not understand while you join hands with drivers and co to fight doctors.I respect you for being sincere that pharmacy is a nice profession. But I also want to let you know that others like nursing, Med lab science, etc are also noble professionals, respect is reciprocal. Pharmacists have roles in drugs production, its control and distribution, administration, therapy, etc until the end user (patient) is TOTALLY CURED of the sickness and stops using the drug substance with no any adverse drug reaction. Pharmacists are not fighting to take over the hospitals but rather to be allowed to practise what they studied and live within the oath they swore to, use their knowledge of drugs to benefit mankind (their patients) as stipulated by the law. So their responsibility is anywhere drugs are used and not limited to the industry, beside industrial pharmacy is just a branch of pharmacy. |
nobilis: The DG of NAFDAC, Dr Paul Orhii is a pharmacologist. The former DG of NAFDAC, Late Prof Dora Akunyili was also a pharmacologist and a toxicologist.I don't have any problem with Dr Orhii if he has the knowledge and is not biased in fighting the course of good and quality drug management in Nigeria. He is trying, building on the foundation layed by Dora WHO WAS A PASSIONATE FIGHTER AGAINST FAKE DRUGS Pharmacology is just a department in pharmacy. Akunyili studied pharmacy and later specialised in pharmacology |
Afrocatalyst: Pharmacists are nt trained to head hospitals like doctors. Why beating around the bush na?Is the training about managing the hospital or the patient? Are you saying only the doctors were trained to manage the patient, the hospital, become minister of health, commissioner for health, surgeon general and consultant?. lol |
thegeneral84: Though I don't want to sound callous but the raw truth is " Pharmacists (or any other Allied Medical Profession) going on strike alone would have little or no impact", the main reason for their coming together to form JOHESU in the hope that their impact would be felt then. Your reason for staying together is the "collective hatred" for Doctors. There is no way a common hatred can successfully keep two or more persons together. You can't decide to marry a girl only because you both hate say "saloon cars". Sadly, That is what JOHESU is.You are wrong and you know it. Can you do their jobs, how well have you diagnosed your patients that you want to do the works of Pharmacists, Nurses, Lab Scientists, etc. Selfishness of the doctors is the reason why graduates of anatomy, physiotherapy, physiology, Radiography etc don't find jobs in the health sector in Nigeria, making the doctors half-baked jack of all trades. If all other health professionals are complaining about you, I think the physicians should check themselves, all of them cannot hate you if you do what is right and act professionally. |
Chidexter: But seriously, reading the scripture through phones e.t.c is a disrespect to God. can u use ur fone to cast out demons? It is not the bible in your hand that cast out demons. IT IS THE POWER IN THE WORD OF GOD IN YOUR HEART THAT YOU CAN SAY OUT TO COMMAND DEMONS. Whether you carry paper bible or electronic bible like ipad, let the word of God dwell richly in you. Text messages and alerts from phone and ipad can actually distract as the man of God has clearly stated |

harrysterol: Plz does UI still do their pharm.D program or it hs been reduced bck †̥o B.sc pharm?UI never offered PharmD but B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy), only UNIBEN does without full approval. PharmD would start soon in most of the Nigerian universities with full approval by the NUC |
Please let's answer one another's questions and proffer solutions. Anybody can provide answers or contribute as long as you have some facts. Even if you have rumour say it out and let others confirm or dispute it. @ Yinka500 well done |
peppy045: Pls I heard U. I doesn't consider 2.2 for direct entry. Hw true is it. Cos I already apply for direct entry in nursing and I graduated with second class lower in anatomy.Hmm... 2.2, is it in B.Sc. Anatomy? I think you should back it up with prayers since you've already applied. B.Sc Anatomy is not far from nursing even medicine. I know UI does not accept lower credit in some courses e.g Pharmacy, Medicine and Surgery. But 2.2 B.Sc in Anatomy no be joke na |

Iwegbadu: Ori e pe jare. Its obvious their course is pure water thats why they are thinking like they have cerebral diaorrheaNo offence but you know you are wrong. Thank God you did at least one pharmacy course while in school, what was your score? Hmm... Diaris God o, all the lies you are sharing |
rotadeco27: In the hospital setting u cant become a consultant wcout having passed through the rigor of residency training programm wch takes 4 to 8 yrs depending on d area of specialization I.e the Dr must ave graduated frm med sch ,done internship, nysc witten primaries b4 the training, I don't seem to undrstan. Y Jhesu want to turn d title to pure water.I will also look 4 drving job in teaching hospital so I can bcome a consultant ambulance driver then Chief medical directorSame in pharmacy, I really don't have time to dissect this. A Consultant Pharmacist goes through a similar training rigour after internship and NYSC @ the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy for a specialty in say Paediatrics or CVD for not less than 6 years. |
bigass: The really reason they all want to become consultant is because they want to become Chief MEDICAL Director of Teaching of Hospitals. That can never happenYou see, exactly what we are talking about ego, selfishness, greed, hatred, etc. In the universities why do all qualified professors have right to contest for the office of the Vice Chancellor? Why not go and fight Jonathan for appointing the new education minister when he is not a professor Nigerians can now see clearly that many of our so-called doctors don't have passion for what they do, no care for humanity as they claim. They are after title, oppression and selfish administration. Go find your calling and make positive impact there. |
1k001: ''The title “CONSULTANT” in a hospital setting describes the relationship between the Specialist Medical Doctor and his patient. It will be a source of confusion if the title is applied to any other health worker who statutorily does not own patient. NMA, therefore, declares with unmitigated emphasis that if “non-doctor consultants” are appointed, it will lead to chaos and anarchy in the health sector. This should not happen.''Consultant Pharmacist and Consultant Physician, are they not suppose to work hand in hand for the benefits of the patient. Will a Consultant Pharmacist strike out a drug from prescription without discussing and reaching an agreement with the doctor? What do you mean by confusion when each of the consultants specialises in different areas, what confusion are you talking about? The problem i see is that our doctors don't want to relate with other healthcare professionals, sometimes even with their fellow doctors when they have cases they cannot handle (this happens mostly in private clinics) , ''ego of knowing it all, anything I say is final even if the patient is being slaughtered'' If I am diligent in my work how can you know more than me in my area of specialisation?. Anything can work if we want it to, it is working in other countries why should our own be an exception. If we see benefits in it, we should look for ways of making it work even if some old LAWS have to be amended, the world is changing except the doctors don't like or care for the patients as they claim. |
