PDP Berates Presidency For Insulting Nigerians
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says that President Muhammadu Buhari’s off-the-point answer to questions at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) interactive session is a further confirmation that he lacks the prerequisite education to hold office as President.

The party holds that President Buhari’s off-the-point speech on climate change, as response to direct and simple question on his plan for the youth, confirms Mr. President’s personal inability to understand and effectively communicate in English language as required by Section 318 (iii) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The PDP notes that President Buhari’s failure to comprehend the question put to him and respond accordingly trashes his claims of attending education to school certificate level and possessing a WAEC certificate, and further brings to light the reasons for his inability to attach any educational certificate as required in INEC form CF001.

The party states that it was obvious to all that because of President Buhari’s inability to understand and communicate in English language (as required by the constitution), he failed to distinguish the fact that the text already prepared for him by his handlers had no correlation with question put to him at the UN.

Nigerians can now see why the Buhari administration has remained miserably incompetent, lacking in tact and desired capacity to manage the affairs of a nation as complex, demanding and multifarious like Nigeria.

Moreover, it has also exposed why the Buhari Presidency overtly lacks the intellect and confidence to engage other world leaders, a situation that has led to the diminishing of the integrity of our nation in the international arena, in addition to the dearth in foreign direct investment under his watch.

The PDP therefore cautions the Presidency over its press statement in which it poured insults on Nigerians for commenting on President Buhari’s embarrassing outing at the UN.

Instead of insulting Nigerians, the Presidency should apologize to our citizens over the embarrassments constantly brought to our nation by President Buhari.

PDP says allegations too weighty to be overlooked

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) demands a system-wide investigation into the alleged siphoning of N90 billion from the coffers of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in which top members of the Buhari Presidency and All Progressives Congress (APC) have been mentioned.

The PDP demands that the Buhari Presidency must not cover this humongous corruption involving highly placed officers in this administration, as it had done in the past.

The party laments that in the face of excruciating hardship being endured by citizens, a government, which came into office on the mantra of change and zero tolerance for corruption, has become enmeshed in atrocious acts of corruption.

The PDP holds that it is pathetic and speaks volumes of the character of this administration that a top member of the cabinet is being fingered in this reprehensible siphoning of monies collected as taxes from millions of already impoverished Nigerians.

Our party notes that this shocking allegation directly borders on gross misconduct and breach of public trust.

The party therefore rejects the flimsy denials and threats being pushed through the FIRS as a belated attempt at cover-up by persons close to the Presidency.

It is therefore held that the delay by the Buhari Presidency in applying established statutory processes and procedures of ordering an investigation into the issue only goes to confirm that the Buhari administration is a citadel of corruption.

This is more so as reports are already in the public domain of how the money stolen from FIRS, was allegedly diverted to private purses and for other extraneous purposes including the 2019 extravagant campaigns of the APC.

Nigerians expect that all our national resources should always be used to ensure the welfare of the citizenry and must be accounted for at all times.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has commissioned the ultra-modern Ogbum-Nu-Abali Fruit Garden Market , which was razed down by fire last year.

Commissioning the project on Tuesday, Governor Wike announced that the State Government will allocate shops to traders who owned shops in the market before it got burnt.

He said: "Let me assure all of you , that those who are traders here will get back their shops. We already have the names of these traders.

"We shall also allocate shops to the host community of Ogbum-nu-Abali. Thereafter, we shall ballot, if there are shops remaining ".

Governor Wike announced that henceforth, the market would be known and called "Ogbum-nu-Abali Fruit Garden Market to reflect the host community.

"We must begin to reflect the names of the communities where projects are allocated. This is important ", he said.

The Governor warned the traders against selling on the road. He said there are shops and spaces to accommodate all traders within the market.

He urged the traders to always pay their taxes because such taxes would be used to develop more projects for other residents of the state.

He recalled that the market was razed down during the campaign period. According to him, several political groups made promises, but only the Rivers State Government was able to redeem its pledge.

Governor Wike stated that fire fighting equipment would be installed in the market to forestall future occurrence of fire outbreak.

Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Victor Ihunwo said the Rivers State Governor lived up to his promise to the traders. He said that the market is the best of its kind.

"The Traders are celebrating the Market and Governor Wike who has kept his promise", he said.

Chairman of the Ogbum-nu-Abali Fruit Garden Market Traders Association, Chigozie Nnolim expressed gratitude to the Rivers State Governor for delivering the Market to them.

The occasion witnessed Traditional Dances and Wrestling Exhibition Matches by women and host communities.

A 300 level accounting student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state has died after she drowned at the Olumo Beach River, popuarly known as Sabo Beach.. and this was caught live on camera.

The sad incident happened at the Popular beach, during a picnic organized by her hostel to mark their hostel week.

In a clip from the incident, Priscilla could be seen going to the deep end of the water and moments later she started calling out for help, but drowned before she could be rescued.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has once again been thrown into mourning.

This time, the ex-Vice President was morning the loss of a stalwart of the PDP – Mrs Toyin Ajinde, who was a leader of the women’s wing of the opposition party.

She was days ago reported to have been involved in an auto crash. She went into a coma and finally died on Wednesday night.

Reacting on Sunday Evening, Atiku paid tribute to Mrs Ajinde, saying that her commitment to a better Nigeria was unparalleled.

The ex VP expressed sadness over her demise and asked that her family be comforted and her soul rest in peace.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped one place in the FIFA world rankings for August/September 2019, and are now placed 34th in the world, down from last time’s 33rd position.

They, however, gained one point, cumulating 1482 points from the previous 1481 points.

In the African ranking, Nigeria maintained its third-place despite the drop in the world ranking, with Senegal and Tunisia also maintaining their first and second positions respectively.

Algeria climbed two places in the world rankings and are fourth on the African ranking behind Nigeria, while Morocco, Egypt, Ghana, Cameroon, Congo DR, and Cote D’Ivoire occupy the fifth to tenth positions respectively.

Meanwhile, Belgium remained top of the world ranking, with France, Brazil, England, and Portugal making up the top 5.

Belgium continues to hold its place as the topmost country on the FIFA world ranking.
Uruguay, Spain, Croatia, Colombia and Argentina are the other countries who make up the top 10 of the latest FIFA rankings.

The next edition is expected to be announced on October 24.
