TravelRe: Appreciation For Departing VO by simi2015: 3:48am On Jul 26, 2015
Dear Ma'am VO,

It's really so sad to know you'll be leaving Naija soon, and especially Nairaland. You have been an angel sent to us at one point or the other through our journey. I remember how you offered most of us support when the US embassies worldwide had the computer issues. What if you weren't there to provide answers to our questions?

I just want to add my own appreciation to those that have been given earlier. Am saying thanks on behalf of myself and my husband. I sincerely pray that God's goodness and mercy go with you everywhere you go and may you ever find favor with God and men all the days of your life. We love you Ma'am.

I remember how you offered most of us support when the US embassies worldwide had the computer issues. What if you weren't there to provide answers to our questions? What really touches one and really commendable is the diligence and compassion you give to the cases as they come.

I sincerely pray that God's goodness and mercy go with you everywhere you go and may you ever find favor with God and men all the days of your life. We love you Ma'am.

PS: Could you kindly post a picture of your beautiful face again wink? I missed the other one. Thanks.

Printed; on its way to the collection center this very moment. It will probably take the center some extra time to sort through everything, though, so please give them a few extra days!
Thanks dear VO.

Good day Ma'am,

How's your day going? Sincere thanks to you and your crew for working the whole weekend to clear the backlog issue.
I would like to know if it is OK now to ask about visa/passport pickup status huh. Case number again is LGS2015526036. Thanks a lot.

Hi Ma'am,

Please know we are grateful for the sacrifice. Thanks again to you all.

Approved; ready to be printed! So it *should* be ready for pickup next week Thursday... although I'm beginning to wonder if the collection center will be SO flooded with cases that it takes them extra time to receive and sort them. But we're on the right track!
Yayyyyyy cheesy. Thanks a lot, dear VO. An angel, you are smiley.

Hi Ma'am,

Am so sorry sad, I just have to ask too. My case number is LGS2015526036. Guess I'd rather read my visa status from you wink. Thanks for a favorable response grin.
TravelRe: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by simi2015: 4:19pm On Jun 24, 2015
VisaOfficer:
My reply to all the recent questions is the same:

Our systems are getting better. However, I can't tell anyone specifically when your particular visa will be printed, or if it will be printed by next week, etc. We are getting hundreds of e-mails from people asking these same questions -- some of the people e-mailing more than once a day -- so many e-mails that the e-mails themselves are slowing things down. Please, don't e-mail us more than once, and really there's no point in e-mailing us today -- it would make more sense to wait until Monday, as Saturday will be our big recovery / printing day here. Also, instead of e-mailing us, you can check your status online or call the collection center.

If your online status still says "Ready" even after you were interviewed and told you were approved, that means that your case looks good but that the computer glitches won't let us approve the case in the system / print the visa. Hang in there. We'll approve and print as soon as we can.

I'm glad to continue answering questions here in the meantime, but I really can't answer questions about whether specific visas have been printed or when they might be printed.
Thank you Ma'am. Am at peace now regarding the status. Thanks again.

Good afternoon Ma'am VO,

I have been checking the CEAC website and my status says 'Ready' but the details also says I prepare for interview which I already came for (18th June) and was approved. ‎Should I disregard the status information on the CEAC website or can it be rectified to accurately reflect my current status? I have sent a similar mail (with my case number LGS2015XXX036) to the IV unit to this effect.

‎I would also like to know how soon it will be issued (printed) and ready for pickup, considering the recent computer glitch. I would be grateful if I could pick it up before‎ the first week in July. Thank you very much, Ma'am.

Then it wasn't me... but I assure you that my hair is MUCH more unruly than that of my colleagues. To be fair, they're much more blonde than I am.
Oh really? Meaning I wasn't able to see you sad. Regarding your hair, I can only imagine smiley Am still grateful the case number issue went well smiley.
If she is the one replacing you, then she is truly capable like you said, but honestly, Nairaland will miss you terribly.
Still, thanks to you, that lady and everyone at the embassy. Do have a lovely day and God bless you, dear VO.

I actually get a lot of joy out of reading everyone's questions and feedback, so, thank you!

Ummmm that does sound like me (especially the "unruly" part). cool When was your interview, may I ask?

I still don't know when visas will be ready for pick-up. These delays are a very very very high priority for us and there are teams of experts working around the clock right now to fix this worldwide problem. I'll let everyone know as soon as we're up and running, I promise!
Yayyyyyy cheesy glad to know it was you, dear VO.

Hi Ma'am VO,

My visa was approved last week and all I can say is thank you. I really was hoping to see you that day, and so I searched the windows to see if I would recognize you. Was it you (lady with the 'unruly' blond hair smiley) who came to meet a lady attending to an applicant (me)? It's like you told her to use my confirmation page invoice ID number instead of the old NVC case number, GUZ2014XXXXXX and then align with my new case number, LGS2015XXXXXX? I remembered the lady was happy with how easy it was to resolve the issue with your advice, and then you waved at me, smiled and even told me thanks while I should have been the one saying the thanks. I did say thanks too (while thinking, 'is she the one?').

I just want to say properly now how grateful I am and pray that you always enjoy unspeakable joy, unending peace and blessings beyond understanding. May you never be separated unduly from those dear to your heart, and them from you. Thanks again and sincere regards to other visa officers.

VO, do you know when it will be ready for pick-up yet? Thanks.

Hi! It seems odd to me that your confirmation page has a different case number than the number on your interview letter. My advice is to e-mail the IV Unit where you want your interview to be held, and ask them (us?) if they (we?) are the post that's processing your case and of the case is there yet.

Your husband's change of address shouldn't be an issue, although you'll probably want to mention it to the interviewing officer. The officer will probably ask you where your husband lives, which will give you an opening to explain. But it shouldn't affect the processing of your case at all.

Good luck!
Good morning VO,

Glad to have you back, Ma'am smiley. Thanks for your response. My husband filled and paid for the DS-260 application form prior to the time we contacted NVC about my change of address (this happened late last year), which is why the confirmation page still has country A case number (GUZ2014XXXXXX). Upon contacting NVC of the change of address, the NVC case number changed to LGS2015XXXXXX, which is why I want to know if everything is fine as my interview date is very, very, very, very close (as I already have an IV interview date). If it would be of any help, I could send my full case number. Thanks and sorry for the trouble. smiley

Good morning Ma'am VO,

I would like to make some inquiries. My husband, a US citizen, filed for me when I was in country A (for studies), hoping I'd be called for interview before I left country A, but I wasn't. Now am in country B (my country of birth) and have been assigned a case number different from the one I was given when I was in country A (that was after we notified NVC). I do want to know if this is already in your records as my DS-260 confirmation page has a different case number from the one on my interview letter?

In addition, my husband has moved to a different state (work related), meaning you still have his old address. My question is would it affect us at the POE or we are good? If not, what can we do?

Hoping to read from you soonest. Thank you very much.
