i agree with you. translations are never 100% accurate.

however, kunle oshob was talking about the books that are contained in what protestants term the bible.
and my point is; the early xtian leaders who chose 4 us us what the bible is today left out some books ont he basis of:
1. proof of authenticity
2. consistency with other books
etc etc
suggesting that some silly pips just sat farting round a table and picked some books at random isnt very accurate.

i think most atheists are miffed by the fact that most religious people claim their views to be the ABSOLUTE TRUTH! but it never fails to amuse me when they post their 'beliefs' about the non existence of God with such conviction. isnt that an absolute view in itself? there are really no in-betweens,  its either the Dude exists or He doesnt.

Most atheists criticise religion as illogical. I quite agree. a lot of our religious beliefs stem from naivete and ignorance but religion isnt science and so its not neccesarily fact based. a lot of questions are left unanswered by religion and that is why its a faith. You just have to BELIEVE.

Science (or if u prefer logic) hasnt anwered all questions either. in fact come to think of it, if the more answers we get through science the more questions are raised. face the fact! Life is amystery and even science has learnt to borrow faith from religion. Even though TOE raises more questions than it answers, most scientists live and die and would swear by it. If thats not faith,  what is?

Nobody knows how we got here; not even the rational anti-creationist pro evolution eggheads who concot more and more elaborate illogically logical theories to explain away the inanity of TOE while turning a blind eye to the mounting evidence to suggest that their theory does not work. When you point this out to them, they re quick to point out to you that TOE might not be perfect yet, but it seeks to make sense of a fact that does not seem to make sense,  the prescence of life!

Scientific approach

Life exists- FACT

We have noticed that life was biochemically much simpler in times past- FACTUAL OBSERVATION

Lets attempt to explain what we have seen- TOE

However, there are still a lot of questions yet to be answered:

How did it all start?

how do we explain the sudden appearnace of complex life forms with our model of gradual increase in complexity?

how come evolution disobeys some fundamental laws?

do we have any real examples of speciation?

why do we pretend like variation and speciation are the same thing?

how come most of our fossil findings are nothing similar to what TOE really predicts?

how come we are always silent about these dissapointing fossils, yet make alot of noise about the few and far in between fossils that seem to strenghten TOE s arguements?


If we weren't created,  how did we get here?


how come blablablayadayadayada?

Religiion isnt that much different

Life exists- FACT

Ok, if life exists, then how did we get here?- *did someone or something put us here?

there is obvioulsy a rationality behind the design of life (blind or not)- how come?

to what purpsose are these designs?

If someone or something put us here for a reason, then what are we supposed to be doing?


If God loves us why are we suffering so much?

If God is so powerful why doesnt He just kill the devil?

Why is God invisible,  why doesnt He just reveal Himslef to us and make us all His children forever> He loves us doesnt He?

If He loves us so much why is He sending most of us (you, if you re an atheist that is) to hell?

Now all theology is an attempt to explain away the questions stated above. ?It is evident from all the verbose that exists in most religious literature that these are not easy questions to answer.

The point i am trying to make from my verbose is that Science and religion are both attempts by rational people to explain the irrationality that we re forced to face in life every single day.

Religion does not make sense!
Neither does Science.
but remember

If i wasnt this much of a Christian, i d probably be agnostic. because the truth is no one knows the truth. Like one of my pastors used to say "when we finally know the truth, we''ll be Gods ourselves.''

See! Do you have proof that Chris Oyakhilome and Benny Hinn perform fake miracles?
If Jesus was alive today, would you believe half of the miracles he performed were genuine?
I am neither for nor against Chris or Benny but until i have definite proof that theyr e fakes i ll be careful what i say about them.
And by the way, there s nothing wrong with a pastor being rich. it s actually unavoidable. Many people actually assume Jesus and his boys were poor. Well, they lived an uncomfortable life thats for sure, but come on, Jesus was important enought to get the attention of the leaders of any city he was in. and besides Judas was the treasurer, would you appoint a treasurer if your income was not substantial? i dont think so.

Once your ministry gets to a certain level it is not practical to take commercial flights. i know people (on a perosnal basis) who charter flights and once they can afford it would buy private jets simply because of the frequency with which they need to fly, not because they want to live an ostentatious life. its just like saying buying a car is a luxury, y dont u take the bus all the time

because maccabes is not included in the protestant version of the bible deos not mean it was not inspired by God. All xtians might agree that my post here was inspired by God, but does that mean it has to be included in the bible?

The christian world would be much better if they at least conceed to an extent that some parts in the bible are good and some parts are devilishly rotten. But trusting my bible wielding fanatics, they will never admit that and never criticize such obtuse passages that encourages slavery, murders, misgomyn and a host of utterly wicked things in the bible. Imagine a story like Noah. After he came out of the ark, the first thing he did was to till the soil and create a vineyard and became drunk. Why don't pastors teach their teenage congregation this beautiful and morally uplifting story?

Most Christian haters tend to criticise Xtians on the basis of hypocrisy and logic, however they tend to unveil their own vapidity through statements like the one above. i m so confused as to where to start explaining stuff to you based on your obvois lack of knowledge. If i was an atheist, or a bible basher i would have interpreted the Noah story as being 'real' in the sense that it does not attempt to paint Noah as a saint,  i.e it does not attempt to create a fairy tale out of a 'fairyer than fairy tale story'. that implies that maybe the writer of the story was actually writing about 'real people' and 'real events'.or maybe the writer s just a really really smart guy.

i watch movies and see really gorgeous women taking it up the ass and sucking and doing unbelievable things to guys without expecting anything else in return. these women are sexy and goodlooking and can speak good english and love to please their men. wonder y 9jerian women are everything these women are not

dinasours? they went extinct (they all died) kid? they were monsters that used to roam the earth. many animals existed in the past that dont exist now. dont see how that contradicts the bible in any way like i'm assuming you are implying. the bible never mentioned dinasours because i'm assuming the writers had no kowledge of dinasours. Im assuming God didnt see the relevance of mentioning dinasours to ignorant Jewish ex-animists. by the way: what are u gettn at?

However, your defintion of evolution is different from mine.

Evolution simply menas change. whan you were born Huxley, you where a baby, now i assume you're an adult i.e you've changed! Thats evolution for me. Your TOE is a bunch of interesting balderdash. And there are a lot of questiions TOE does not answer but the scientific community in its zealousness to be seen as anti-religious ignores these problems and forces TOE on us as scientific fact. to be honest sha, religion produces fanaticsm. fanatics are people who blindly and stupidly follow rules without an iota of initiative. American evangelicals tend to make me sick with their narrowmindedness,  but again maybe its 4 their good,  its better to be safe than sorry. but seriously. we have here a Christian female adult teaching kids like she s teaching grown up men.

What the hell do these kids care about an army and living a life of purity? and 7 year olds they don't even know enough to know about girls yet!

kids at that age should be exposed to theology on their level. they should still be learning bible stories and general morals to make them well balanced adults,  not speaking in tongues and laying hands and all.
You re just confusing these kids. and then scaring them with hell you know how imaginative kids can be and you go on and on about sin and how they ll roast in hell excpet they repent. Modern day Xtians present God like He is some saddist or something.

I mean seriously, these are kids who should be out camping or playing ball or monkeyiong around like kids should and u have them locked up in a camp speaking in tongues and crying and b eing emotional!!!
i'm not saying God or the Holy Spirit can't work through kids but let God approach the kid himself or better still let the kid himslef show special interest in such matters. don't uneccesarilly prod kids into such unkidlike things.

hidden clumsily behind your verbose is the fact that you have a strong bias against Christian evangelists and miracle workers. The truth is, it is unfair to labell anyone a charlatan except you have strong evidence. when Christ was on earth, many Pharisees and saducces and supposedly holy people would have described him with words similar to those you hav used.
Personally, i have my reservations about many of these evangelical Christian leaders but its not my job to crticise them. Except i have evidence that theyre faking their miracles and not living lives worthy of Christ, i would do well to shut up!
