Are you perchance related to Bro. Gbile Akanni of Peace House, Gboko?

Sunday Akanni

I quit the teenage phase of life some ten years ago, and I'm now in my late twenties (although I still look way younger than my actual age. Lol). But looking back, I'm grateful to God for certain decisions I made when I was a very young boy years back that set me up for a blissful adulthood.

For the sake of space and time, let's summarise them into five.

1. Accepting Jesus As Lord And Savior

We all must make decisions every day. However, certain decisions are greater than several other decisions we make. These are decisions that change our lives forever.

The greatest decision I made that transformed my life was when I decided to give my life genuinely to Jesus Christ years back as a young teenager, making the decision to serve HIM and to maintain a good relationship with HIM in spirit and in truth.

2. Discovery Of Life Purpose

My relationship with Jesus set me on the pathway of destiny and purpose fulfillment early enough. Hence, I don't experience idleness, hopelessness, and helplessness. I've never been stranded in my life. Jesus is sweet.

From a young age, I knew I was called to be a minister of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom, and I structured my life accordingly. I started preaching as a child and grew up doing ministry. It's blissful doing what you were created to do from a young age. One of the benefits is you gain mastery while still young.

3. Building A Structure That Promotes Holiness

The decision to walk with Jesus as a young chap changed everything about me and my relationship with God empowered me in all important ways. Despite being a very young chap, I could live above sin, the devil and hell. Hence, I couldn't even relate to addictions and heartaches and headaches that are prominent in the circle of many young folks.

While I'm not yet 100 percent perfect, I was able to build a structure around my life that prevents me from indulging in dirty things that easily destroy lives. So, even now, my life is fresh, devoid of the fatal scars of sin.

Hi Leriebloom,

I read your story; it was quite interesting and informative as well. Had it been Nigerians cultivate the habit of documenting their experiences, we would have gone far than this.

Anyways, I am a prospective corp member and I will be reporting to camp later this week. I have some questions I would want to ask you regarding Benue state. Kindly choose the medium that is quite convenient for you.

Thanks.

Hello great mind.

During registration, I put 2021 as my year of graduation while my statement of result carries the 8th of February, 2022. Should I be worried about this? Will I be sent out of the camp due to this error?

Thanks.
Crime / Re: Miscreants Go On Rampage In Mushin, Set Buildings On Fire by SimpleBea(m): 5:29am On Aug 17, 2021
GerraMeh74:
Having lived in Lagos for sometime now, I can say that the Youruba people have more miscreants and thugs than any other tribe in Nigeria, you will see a young able bodied guy who is not ready to lift a single finger to do anything ,but rather prefers been at a strategic junction and begging passerbys for money to either smoke or drink. You should have seen the level of their hooliganism during the end Sars pandemonium, that is why Lagos had more number of burnt police station than any other state.Did I forget to mention that Police men are now assigned to 3rd Mainland Bridge 24/7,Because of the traffic robbers. Lagos is a ticking time bomb, unless the government finds a way of actively engaging this guy's, aside from the NURTW and RETAN , I can only say that Lagos especially the mainland will become even more dangerous and unsafe.

I disagree with you. Take a look at the composition of these miscreants and you can prove your points excellently. Lagos State, alone, is home to virtually all ethnic groups in Nigeria. Where do you think most of the displaced people in the northeastern parts of the country heads to? Southwest - mainly Lagos. A walk through the mainlands - Iyana Oba, Isheri, etc - and you will found hundreds, if not thousands of jobless youths mostly non-Yoruba there.

So, get your fact right before concluding. Opinions are however free, but facts are sacred.

Education / ENACTUS TASUED Wins National Competition, To Represent Nigeria In Netherlands by SimpleBea(m): 6:54pm On Aug 13, 2021
The ENACTUS team from Tai Solarin University of Education has just been pronounced winner of the just concluded 2021 national competition held as virtual and live streaming event between Wednesday, 4th of August to Thursday, 5th of August, 2021.

Themed Enabling Social Impact for the Greater Good, the 2021 ENACTUS Nigeria national competition saw eight different teams from different tertiary institutions in the country qualified to compete at the opening round of the second edition of the ENACTUS Nigeria online national competition which held over a two-day period and over three stages.

Six of the teams advanced to the semi-final round of competition, from where only 4 teams from Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi; Ahmadu Bello University, Kaduna State Polytechnic and Tai Solarin University of Education proceeded to the final round of the competition.

At the end of the keenly-contested contest, the ENACTUS team from Tai Solarin University of Education emerged as the overall winner of the competition with two of its innovative projects, namely: P’Pal and Fibban.

P’Pal seeks to replace plastics materials with fibers extracted from banana stems. These innovative pads come in two forms: the reusable and the disposable, that are both directed towards eradicating plastics in menstrual products. In comparison with the conventional sanitary pad that takes over 400 years to degrade, this plastic-free sanitary pad degrades in only three months. Fibban also tackles the issue of plastic materials associated with packaging of products through its innovative bag made from banana fibers as well.

The team from Tai Solarin University of Education will represent Nigeria at the ENACTUS World Cup competition that is scheduled to hold later in October at Netherlands. This final competition would features the participation of teams from 34 countries around the globe.

Each team would presents their projects of entrepreneurial action that have the momentum to create new careers, spark business innovation and deliver fresh energy for social impact.

But do you know the idea of 'chilling on' needs to be deleted. Why? For we know not the set time when the bride may come. So, ask yourself if you would want your own Jesus to come and meet you 'chilling on' with a stick of cigarette. Guess no? There is still time for you to drop this. Bury yourself in the Word of God and prayer and see grace arising for you to enable you to drop this.

Grace is here, made available through Christ! Allow it to work over you.

Literature / Have You Read This Book? by SimpleBea(m): 11:18am On May 03, 2021
Hi all.

I have been trying to buy Hard Choice by Sunnie Ododo all to no avail. I need it for my undergraduate thesis, as it deals mainly with the theme of ethnocentric conflict and hatred. So, if you have it or know where I could get it from, please kindly drop a hint. I have tried getting it from bookshops - online and physical bookstores - but I kept meeting a dead end.

Thanks.

NB: The book was written by Professor Sunday "Sunnie" Ododo in 2011. It won the prestigious ANA Drama Prize in 2012.

Well, I have been silently following this thread for some time now and I must say it is a spirit-filled thread, uplifting and makes one crave more for God in an unusual way.

I want to share a testimony about this thread with everyone and to further proclaim the wonderful love of God in every way.

About three weeks ago, I woke up in the middle of the night to do some things online. I did complete those things and I decided to while away time online. I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit telling me to go back to bed and sleep. Well, I decided to ignore the voice and I continued my 'fleshly' journey online. Then I logged on to my WhatsApp to reply some of the ancient messages that have been pending. Little did I know that I was digging my own graves.

Then a particular group I joined days before that day caught my attention. I entered and was reading the messages when I came across an atheist comment about God. The comment was all about Christians prayed to the wind hoping it get to one God that doesn't exist. I thought about the comment and I decided to exit the group, quit browsing and sleep.

Well, it seemed I was late because Satan has struck. He had infiltrated my mind and that little disobedience was the avenue that 'old serpent' had to mess my mind. When I woke up in the morning for my Quiet Time, I knew something was wrong. I felt dry and my mind couldn't leave the thoughts of the comment I saw in the group.

Poor me! The more I decided not to think about it, the more the thoughts kept crawling into my mind. My mind raved ravenously looking for physical proof that God exist. A particular voice kept ringing in my head and mind proofing to me that God doesn't exist. I battled with this for a long time as I kept on praying and praying without confessing my sins.

Deep down, I felt dry. As the relationship I had with God wasn't there any longer. But I never lose track of prayer and studying. I prayed and prayed but the thought was still there. My mind kept drawing back to that midnight when I disobeyed. I prayed for forgiveness and repented. But the thought was still there. I was looking for a way that the thought will leave me. I begged God to remove that thought but the more I begged God the more the thoughts kept drawing back. Anytime the thought was back, I kept reiterating to the voice that I would rather follow God that brought changes in the life of people that served Him diligently. But that was never enough as the thought kept growing stronger.

All of a sudden, I woke up one morning to know that the thoughts has reduced. But the connection I had with the Holy Spirit wasn't there yet. Then, I let God handled the rest though the thoughts was still coming trying to make me doubt the existence of God. I didn't give it to it but it kept coming.

Around last week, I was surfing the net again and I decided to check this thread again. Alas! I have missed a lot. I quickly began feasting on the wonderful comments and testimonies of the brethren. And suddenly, I felt the spark. I felt the connection. Deep inside me, I knew something changed in me. The dryness I have been experiencing gave way to newness. I didn't know when I started speaking in tongues and tears lazily streamed from my eyes.

Though the thoughts didn't stop on that day. Yet I knew that I have been reconnected back to God. The newness! The refreshing and exciting thoughts of His presence! The conscious reality of walking in His presence! The loving mindset that He is always with me.

Then, that thought that kept spurring in my mind making me feeling depressed was gradually fading away. It reappeared today and the Holy Spirit gave me victory. When that voice came in his usual manner today, then, I felt a voice inside of me telling that voice that: 'how do you know that death exist? Every human being will die. We all know that death doesn't separate the rich from the poor. Then if God doesn't exist, then, death doesn't exist because we can't see death. But because death exist, then, my FATHER (God) is alive. He exists.'

I will leave on this note that we should hold steadfastly to our faith this time around because of the great revival that is coming after this period.

Thanks to God who brought everyone together. Thanks to Him for the source of all those amazing contributions in this group. They have been really really helpful. God will continue to strengthen His body the more.

Though we may not meet each other physically on this earth, but, I do know that I would meet everyone when we get to heaven.
May we not fall out of this great race!
May God blessings be multiplied unto us.

Yes i totallygree with this. I rember having a scary dream last night about such.

Had just finished my midnight prayer and in my dream i was coming back from somewhere with some random people ...and suddenly the image of Christ started flashing in the sky, more like in the form of bright Light...not in the human body, it will flash and disappear.... It happened for a while but I kept walking.
And suddenly THICK FIRE started razzing down in the earth from the sky. VERY THICK and giant. Everyone started running halter skater . Eventually I got home and the fire was still razzing and remember asking the Lord what was happening. Then I saw a piece of paper beside me and I read what was written in it, and it said that God is angry with the world and will send fire, but the fire will not touch his children or his own people.

After reading the paper, I remember in that dream I said to my self ' abeg me that have not finished working on how to hear the voice of God grin ( in real life I'm working in how to hear the Holy Spirit ) I am now here believing that I am receiving message from him. undecided cry And I woke up.. Lol, ..i still don't take the dream serious... Like fire will come down in the earth? Nahhh I highly doubt it embarassed

God will surely help us.

But could you please expatiate more on the image of Christ?

This confirm what Pastor Adeboye said when social distancing started in Lagos then. That word kept resonating in my mind. He said the virus has come to stay and God will cut it off it when the time comes.

You cannot have the audacity to engage in fornication and still have the confidence to approach God for prayers. Your decision is intentional.

Crime / Father Allegedly Defiles 10-year-old Daughter by SimpleBea(m): 4:51am On Jun 05, 2018
A 48- year - old man , Tajudeen Adefioye, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling his daughter.

PUNCH Metro gathered that drunken Adefioye on May 18, 2018, returned home around 11. 30pm and allegedly raped the 10- year- old .
It was gathered that when he attempted to have sex with her again on May 27, 2018, she ran out of the house .

The girl was said to have informed neighbours, who called the police.
One of the neighbours, Bolanle Ndukwe, said, “ On the night of the incident , someone told me that a girl was outside my house and when I asked her what she was doing outside at that time, she told me that her father wanted to have sex with her . She said it was not the first time.
“ I called two other neighbours to go with me to meet her father and when we met him , he denied what the girl said and we took him to one of the community leaders , who called the police. ”

But the widower and father of three said the allegation was false.
He said his children had been in his custody since their mother died in 2017.
Adefioye was , however , arraigned on Monday before an Ogba Magistrates ’ Court on one count bordering on defilement.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, told the court that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The charge read in part , “ That you , Tajudeen Adefioye , on May 27, 2018, around 9 pm on Imore Road , Ibasa, Lagos , in the Lagos Magisterial District , did unlawfully defile a minor aged 10.”
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial.
The magistrate, Mr P .E. Nwaka , adjourned the case till July 4, 2018

How come this is on Nairaland and 95% of the school populace don’t know about it, not even a single broadcast message on any of the TASUED group chat or even a picture posted at school gate or anywhere around campus.

The best way to know about her whereabouts is to broadcast it on group chat and paste pictures around schools. At least someone will know something.

I pray for her safe return!!!

We got the information around 12:03am today, if you are on Facebook. It is already on Facebook, Nairaland, and has been broadcasted to over 45Tasued whatsapp group.

Tomorrow, we are launching a strategic awareness in order to bring her back safely. Thanks for the comment sir.
