bibiliscious: Evening All,
I’m back again with a question .
My fiancé applied for his TRV (paper route)
31st May -Application submitted 19th June - Biometrics confirmation email 24th June - He tracked his application online and it shows that his processed passport is ready for pick up 24/06/19 (no it is not linked to an online account)
We haven’t gotten any email advising final decision till now.
Is this normal ? How do we know if it’s approved or not as he is not even available to pick up the passport till friday.
Any reason why no email notification was sent for final decision ? Wow Paper route now faster than online. I believe it's too many application this period, probably the don't have time to send updates. I know as of April, early May..... People got ghost update or account updates for eligibility..... this period, accounts are updated without email notification. Just a humble observations though. Just pick it up. |

prost80: Hello All,
I am a PPR holder and want to apply for a visitor Visa for my parents. Which is the best online or paper? I am guessing online. Also which form should one fill the schedule 1 imm5257 or the other imm5257?
Lastly how long does it take?
I am not keen on supervise for parents , we prefer TRV, as they can have a 5yrs multiple entry as I dont see my parents staying more than 6montha at a go
I am leaving for Canada by next month for a soft landing. Is it advisable to apply now or from there.
I will appreciate any advice or insight Read up here please.. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/parent-grandparent-super-visa.html |

Dual intent should be mentioned if it was considered as part of the decision on the application. It should not, however, be the sole reason for refusal. If the officer is not satisfied that the applicant’s intentions are bona fide, and has dual intent concerns, the applicant should be refused as per section R179, with dual intent outlined as a concern in the application notes. |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by SimpleDimples: 12:44pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
Refusals The existence of 2 different intents is not, in itself, reason to refuse a temporary residence application. If the officer is satisfied that the applicant would leave Canada after their authorized stay, regardless of the outcome of any future potential permanent residence application, the temporary residence application may be approved.
The possibility that an applicant for temporary residence may, at some point in the future, be approved for permanent residence does not absolve the individual from meeting the requirements of a temporary resident, specifically, to leave Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay, in accordance with section R179.
Example of a case for refusal
An applicant for a work or study permit who indicates that they have no intention of leaving Canada has demonstrated only a single intent – permanent residence. Their application would be refused, even if the applicant might subsequently qualify for the Canadian experience class (CEC) or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This is because the applicant has shown that they would not respect the terms and conditions of temporary residence, should they not qualify for permanent residence. |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by SimpleDimples: 12:12pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
Dual intent is present when a foreign national who has applied or may apply for permanent residence in Canada also applies to enter Canada for a temporary period as a
visitor student worker Having 2 intents (1 for temporary residence and 1 for permanent residence) is legitimate. This section addresses how to apply subsection 22(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) to the decision-making process.
Subsection A22(2) states: “An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay”. Dual intent on the part of the applicant is therefore not prima facie grounds for refusal of temporary resident status.
Assessing dual intent A person’s desire to apply for temporary resident status and permanent resident status in Canada is legitimate. An officer should distinguish between a temporary residence applicant whose intentions are bona fide and an applicant who has no intention of leaving Canada at the end of their authorized stay if the application for permanent residence is refused.
In assessing the applicant’s intentions, the individual circumstances of the temporary residence applicant must be examined; refusals of non-bona fide temporary residents may only withstand legal challenge when the refusal is based on the information related to the specific application before an officer.
In assessing an application for temporary residence, an officer should consider, among other factors, the following:
the length of time that the client will be spending in Canada means of support obligations and ties to the home country the purpose and the context of the stay the credibility of documents and information submitted past compliance with requirements of the IRPA and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) that are applicable to temporary residents (visitors, students and workers), as well as information available in biographic and biometric information sharing Assessing an application where there are dual intent implications is no different from assessing any other temporary residence application. Each applicant receives the benefit of a procedurally fair, individual assessment. The applicant must, in turn, satisfy the officer that they meet all the requirements of the IRPA and the IRPR relating to temporary residence, before any temporary residence application is approved.
If an officer has concerns or doubts about the applicant’s intentions, the applicant must be made aware of these concerns and given an opportunity to respond to them. If an application for temporary residence is not approved, the officer will provide the client with a letter explaining why the application has been refused. |

bibiliscious: Good evening All,
I got my final decision today and was denied basis the below
QTE Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your temporary resident visa application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
UNQTE
This is a brief summary of my application.
I applied 10th May 2019- paper route, received biometrics confirmation email on 29th May 2019 & final decision 12th June 2019.
I have 9 years working experience- I currently work in an Oil & Gas multinational company with a good pay (working there for 5 years) and i am also an event planner on the side (Registered my business name). I wrote a strong worded letter assisted by Africholiday giving full details of my occupation, reason for travel and itinerary to undergo during my 10 days stay in canada. Travel history (Ghana, Abu dhabi, Dubai &USA-my American Visa is valid till may 2020 ). All my family members (Mother & siblings) are married and live in nigeria (updated their info on my application form)so i dont understand why they say i have no family ties in nigeria & Canada (I dont even know anyone in Canada)
Documents submitted are as follows * Application form * Bank statement (6months )- Both Personal & My Business account (Over 4m -combined) * CAC document * Letter of introduction from my company * 6 months stamped and signed payslip * Office ID Card * Detailed cover letter for my reason to travel * Copies of my visas and past travel history * Hotel reservation * Flight reservation * Tour reservation & details
I am so frustrated with this, please help as i will like to re-apply(Probably online this time). what do i do next? i dont want to make any mistakes. How do i respond to them or know what the mean by family ties in nigeria & canada.
I am single (though engaged) . could that be why?
PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!! So sorry about that. You can re-apply via online route. Go through these link and see what the VO looks out for in your application. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/eligibility-admissibility-considerations.html |

OmoBendel24: Wrong! Processing times you see weekly are a reflection of the time frame (I think even with a few days transmission time added or so) it took to process the applications of about 80% of the applicant who got decision made mails, etc in the last two weeks or thereabouts. I remember I posted something on this a couple of years ago, don't know how easy I can find that post now. Will try sha Oya count back from the decision date to the application and check if it doesn't tally. Longer processing time more than the stipulated depends on how fast VO verifies your information. For my friends, Applied April 11th and the processing time was 35 days and the got their decisions May 17 which is within the stipulated time. |

Greatg0809: Does this apply to people that submitted since May too wen it was 37 days You have to work with the 37 days if that Was the processing time as at the time of submission. |

Greatg0809: Does this apply to people that submitted since May too wen it was 37 days No it doesn't, You have to calculate your processing time based on the number of days shown during that week of application. This information is based on the previous timing used for my friends' application. However the length of processing time depends on the type of TRV and how fast your information are verifiable. |

pointednose: I will be submitting my application this coming week and my itinerary and the event/fun trip I will attend while on the visit is in the first week of July.
Should I go ahead to apply with the date or make my itinerary a bit later?
Thank you. If your visit is first week of July, is there enough time for application processing. As at today, the processing time is 44 days as against 45 days shown last week. |

How do i start? somebody please help an agent is requesting for 1.5m to help me out.but with this thread i have seen, no more agent Please use that money and add to your proof of funds. Imagine 1.5m where as the highest you can pay for the application is about 62k ( paper route+biometrics + PP couriered to your house). Please to avoid future regrets, I will advice you do it your self. Most times, the collect your money, they submit fake documents and at the end you are either denied or inadmissible. |

Dedzstar789: Not all April applicants have received decisions. Lots of March applicants are still awaiting decisions as well. I agree, it all depends on the type of visa application made. Why i said so before is because 2 different persons I know applied on the 11th April and both got their decision on the 17th May. Just a visit visa |

Woafavour: Hello house. I submitted my TRv application on the 11th of march and i am still waiting for an update. My international passport expires in november, it was 8months left to expire as at when i applied for the visa. Do you think the short lenght of my passport to expire will be a barrier to my application? Wow that's so long. Whereas April applicants have received their decision. |

bibiliscious: Good day All, Trust all is well.
Further to my above inquiry - submitted paper application 10th May 2019 but status via tracking site says " No Record found".
I received an email 29th May 2019 confirming receipt of my biometrics and advising that it is valid till 2029 but still no update on my application.
How else can i track my application? i was reading their website and i saw link paper application to an online account? it says to sign in either by : * Sign-in Partner (SecureKey Concierge) uses your online banking information *GCKey is the Government of Canada credential
Please advise if i should do so ? really need to know if all is okay. cz i dont get why my bank information should be used for an online account.
Kindly assist
Many thanks in advance Expect their decision soon. Sign in using GCKey Ensure you type in your correct details. Congratulations in advance |
