Senate President Bukola Saraki today said he was proud of his role in stopping All Progressives Congress, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu from becoming the vice-presidential candidate of the APC in 2015.

Saraki in a statement yesterday said that he did not mind that the APC leader would continue to bellyache over the issue which he said was prompted by national interest. Responding to assertions made against him at the APC presidential campaign rally in Ilorin, Kwara State on Monday, Saraki in a statement signed by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity),Yusuph Olaniyonu, stated that the APC leaders know that their party would lose the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 16, 2019 and hence the resort to name calling and avoidance of the issues. “As for Tinubu, we have never expected any good words from him. All his life, he will continue to belly ache and nurse grudges over my opposition to the Muslim-Muslim ticket idea in 2015. As far as he is concerned, I stopped him from realizing his ambition then. However, I believe my action then and now is in pursuit of national interest. Again, I supported President Buhari in 2015 because I believe he could make a positive change. I left the party when I realized he lacked the capacity and the desire to make any change. “Tinubu on his own part said though he agreed with me about my assessment of the man, he would continue to support Buhari even if the man had to govern from the hospital stretcher because that is the way he (Tinubu) could become the President in 2023. So, while my position is premised on national interest, Tinubu’s is based on his personal interest and ambition. Now that Tinubu’s new speciality is to hurl insults at people like former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, focusing on me today is okay if it will help him feel good. “It is surprising that a man like Tinubu will be talking about morality and corruption. This is a man whose disrepute is known both within and outside Nigeria. This is somebody who personifies everything that is wrong with the Nigerian system. A Kaduna State High Court, on Friday, issued a warrant of arrest against the Chairman of Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, Dr. Muhammed Isah, for contempt.

The warrant of arrest was issued by Justice Mario Mohammed after the chairman had ignored several summons by the court in a suit between Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i and Today’s publishing Company Limited, and one other. A warrant form obtained directed that police personnel and authorities should arrest the CCB Chairman and produce him before the court on Feb. 13, 2019. Earlier, Today Publishing Company, the publisher of The Union Newspapers, had filed application requesting the court to subpoena CCB Chairman to produce assets declaration of El-Rufai in court after several efforts it made to obtain it from the CCB failed. Justice Mohammed granted the approval based on the application filed by Counsel to The Union Newspapers, Mr J.N. Egwuonwu (SAN), during the continuation of defence at previous sitting. Egwuonwu, represented by Hiifan Andrew Abuul, had written application to the court to Subpoena CCB to tender the asset declaration of the Governor before the court. News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), reports that the governor had gone to the court over a report carried by the newspaper in which it allegedly stated that he had declared N90 billion in his CCB assets declaration form.(NAN)

The Supreme Court, on Friday, upheld the judgement given by the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, barring the All Progressives Congress from the general elections in Rivers State.

The Federal High court was presided over by Justice Omotosho.


On Monday, the Appeal court stayed the execution of the lower court judgement, giving hope to the APC candidates in th state.

First, Buhari is an incumbent. The likelihood that he will return is very high. Like you pointed out, this isn't 2015 and he isn't Jonathan either.

Second, people trooping out to watch Atiku could be one of three things:
1. They actually support him
2. They were paid to turn up
3. They've heard the fella shared dollars during the primaries and they are hoping he'll throw cash around.

I'm guessing it's the third one seeing as these people are really hungry.

1. They were force to be there by there governor, in the case of civil servants,

BENIN—EDO State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, in Benin City, said it had rejected the list of ad hoc staff the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, plans to use to conduct the February 16 presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

The party insisted that the directive was very clear and explicit, saying that university vice-chancellors were asked to provide a list of their members of staff, who would be used as ad hoc staff. A statement in Benin, yesterday, by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Chris Nehikhare, accused INEC of planning to use the list of All Progressives Congress, APC card-carrying members and operatives as University of Benin staff allegedly said to have been provided by the Vice Chancellor.

He said: “The list, we are informed, was written by state government and handed over to the Vice Chancellor for transmission to INEC. This purported INEC ad hoc staff list must be completely discarded as it is a recipe for chaos and poses a great danger to our nascent democracy. “We reject it and condemn the politicalisation of the “employment” of APC members as ad hoc staff to manage the election process. We call on the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof Faraday Orumwense not to allow himself to be used. “He must do the right thing by withdrawing the list he was prevailed upon to submit, and hand over the one made up of genuine staff of University of Benin. “The forthcoming election must not only be free, fair and transparent, it must also be seen to be so.”

Akure—A middle-aged man, Kayode Michael, allegedly caught picking women under-wears and blood-stained sanitary pads, was almost lynched by irate mob in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The suspect, who was beaten blue- black, was reportedly arrested by the residents of Danjuma area of Akure metropolis. An eyewitness told newsmen, who rushed to the scene, that some “ People saw him picking female under wears around the area, but when he was asked what he was doing with them, he could not give any convincing answer so the people thought maybe he wanted to use them for rituals.

Yes I have a prove, watching very closely on the pictures above, no one from the crowd is showing 4+4 slogan which is Buhari/apc presidential campaign slogan. By implication the 4+4 sign is not known to the when this picture was taking. The background image of picture were few individuals are showing 4+4 differs from the background of the picture with crowd. So from my analysis both pictures were not taken on same event.
