slic0355:You are wrong sir. God and the Bible disapprove of lust, sexual impurity and inappropriate relationship between men and women (Genesis 20:6; Job 31:1; Matthew 5:27-30; Ephesians 5:3-16; Revelation 21:. Yes Luke was a Physician(medical doctor). Having become a follower of Christ, it predisposes that he would not involve himself (from the time of knowing Christ) in anything unclean, perverse or immoral. Thanks. |

johnydon22:I expected this from one of the atteists. However, if actually you read my thread and have no problem with comprehension, you will realise that this is not about any part of the body being evil. Every part of our body is good just like God Who made it but some parts are more sacred and naturally kept secretive (at least from the opposite sex) whether by Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, moralists, traditionalists, pagans, agonists, free thinkers, or the irreligious/atteists. It appears you have a beef with religious people and just looking for the slightest opportunity to attack what we stand for albeit with your nonsensical contradiction. I am particular about the born again Christians because we seriously believe and preach about life after death, the need for repentance/salvation from sin and purity of heart and life as a precondition to avoid eternal damnation in hell fire and enjoy eternal bliss after this brief life. Back to topic. Is it proper for a born again Christian to study to become a gynaecologist or to practise such as a profession? Will such a one be pure and heaven-bound? Is such a person not in danger of eternal perdition? 13 Likes 1 Share |

A gynaecologist is a medical doctor who specialises in treating women especially on sexual reproduction. As part of his/her job, he/she has to look at the unclothedness of women repeatedly and occasionally fumble with (sensitive) parts of their bodies. A born again Christian who hopes to make it to heaven and see God must be pure in heart (Matthew 5: and holy in conduct (Hebrews 12:14). Should a born again Christian who is a boy/man study or practise gynaecology as a profession? 10 Likes 4 Shares

me69:My friend, it is bad to wish anybody death. But I think our amiable ailing president made himself a religiously bigoted, ethnocentric, sectional leader instead of a detribalized one with national appeal. The issue of fighting theft to me is a big lie. Apparently, he is fighting his perceived enemies who may be thieves while shielding his cronies who may equally be. If actually he is sincerely fighting theft without partiality, may the Lord Almighty quickly heal him so that he will continue doing the good job I J N, Amen. |

Naruto87:Being tribalistic can never be the right thing. Every leader has equally done some 'right thing' depending on the motive. But being tribalistic spoils everything. It is like a teacher who favours some studends at the expense of others just because of where they hail from. Even if he/she teaches well, can you reasonably call such a good teacher? Let us call a spade a spade. Tribalism and every form of partiality is bad. It is a sin. |

Naruto87:I see. Little wonder the economy has been improving under him. If the people he knows or trusts are mostly northern Moslems, then the president should have contested to govern his state or be a senator representing his zone. He is better being a regional leader. As for being a president of a heterogeneous country like Nigeria, he is too miopic, nepostic and clannish, sorry to say. It beats my imagination that being a former head of state could not make him a detribilised Nigerian. BTW, what has the appointment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria got to do with people he knows? Or do you mean people that will easily dance to his tune? Yet we expect those 'he does not know (or like') to pray for his recovery? Is it so that he will continue to 'order their killing', hate, marginalise and shortchange them? It is only a truly born again person that will pray for the welfare of one who conspicuously hates him. |

Naruto87:Though I don't support anyone insulting the president or any other leader, I think you are off the mark in your comments. The issue is not about the corrupt past or the fixing of the economy. The issue is about the president's perceived tribal and religous bigotry. It is very obvious that he is not comfortable with certain positions being occupied by a Southern Christian. Perhaps Justice Walter Onnoghen is among those who gave him 5% votes in 2015 presidential election. Our president to me is too divisive. I stand to be corrected if I am wrong. Thank you sir. 1 Like |

A lot of people are concerned and perplexed at the same time how Church has been turned to a means of becoming super rich at the expense of the worshippers or adherents. Never mind. God is the ultimate Judge. All the same, money is necessary for Church administration and carrying out of the Great Commission of winning souls. |

Religion / Re: Money And The Gospel by Sinkills: 11:57pm On Feb 24, 2017 |
InsanePsycho:I don't get you. What do you mean? Are you saying that God should personally come down and build worship centres? No, He has blessed many of us with health and opportunities to make legitimate money. So we are bound to reciprocate His kind gestures by using part of what He has blessed us with to serve Him. It is not compulsory though. |
Religion / Money And The Gospel by Sinkills: 11:32pm On Feb 24, 2017 |
Money plays a vital role in the gospel evangelization especially as a ministry grows. Money is used to build worship centres, purchase state of the art public address equipment/musical instruments, organise crusades, print gospel tracts and other Christian literature, pay full time ministry staff, support local and foreign missions, help the needy etc. As such a lot of money is involved in church administration or if you like business. It is only immoral if the money is being misappropriated or used for personal aggrandisement by a particular leader or leaders. Yes, Church is a serious business - God's business (Luke 2:49). The eternal fate of billions of people depend on it. However, it should not be a personal or family business enterprise. The major objective of starting a Church or gospel ministry should be to win souls ie help sinners find the Saviour and be turned from sinners on the way to perdition to saints on their way to eternal life. Then the physical, health, emotional and material needs of the people should also be taken care of through faith building, prayers, counselling and caring. Taking people to heaven should be the ultimate goal of the Church. As such, messages on repentance, practical right-living, godliness, faith and faithfulness, examplary lifestyles, service to God, love and living to help others should be the emphasis of our preachings. Of course, the messages have to be backed up with prayers by the hearers for divine grace and enablement. See you in heaven. |

Religion / Re: Why Are There So Many Different Christian Interpretations? by Sinkills: 9:29am On Feb 23, 2017 |
OLAADEGBU:It is not everybody who owns, reads or even preaches with the Bible that is a Christian. People have their different focuses. Your focus will determine how you interprete the Bible. Those whose focus is about this life interprete it to suit their earthly focus. Those who are after a blissful eternity after this brief life have eternity in view on their interpretations, prayers, pursuits and lifestyles. There is just one purpose of the Scriptures - to convert us from sinners to saints, make us profitable to our Maker, have us fulfilled and prepare us for eternity with God (Psalms 19:7-11; 2nd Timothy 3:16, 17; Ephesians 4:11-14) |

As Christians, we can openly disagree with what we perceive as inhuman or unrighteous policies of the government. But we are not to abuse, insult, derogate or call a leader names. |

If this government is as serious in governance as it is in propaganda, I believe Nigeria would have been better by now. All they do is to blame the past government for any and every failure, divert our attention with how much was stolen under a particular regime. They also play on our ethnic sentiments that anybody who is not happy with the current state of affairs must be an Ipod, PDP bla, bla, bla etc. You can deceive some people all the time, you can deceive all the people for some time, but you cannot deceive all the people all the time. |

Jesusloveyou:To you and your likes, everything is turned into GEJ versus Buhari and anybody who points at your error is an IPOD. Let me say this, if the current president is sincere about fighting corruption, may the good Lord lengthen his days on that seat. But if he is hypocritical about it, may the Lord replace him with a person who will genuinely fight corruption, recover all our stolen money, deal with ALL the thieves, improve the economy and unite this country to become better and greater in Jesus' name, Amen. |
