It will be counterproductive if PMB and his Cabal swallow Father Kukah's bait by arresting him. That is what the Reverend Father wanted. Arresting Kukah will create more problems for the FGN and may lead to unfavourable series of events. The security intelligence knows better.

Arrest him for what exactly?

He has earned because nobody dare question him. BTW, point out one industry he built; name all the development in Uyo (cos dat is the one place been referred to) if it corresponds to one-tenth of the total state allocation during his 8years in power. I criticize him cos I am well informed not because of political sentiments.

I am niether being sentimental here. If he was not able to achieve anyhting for the people, don't you think someone would have questioned him? Besides bro, in policitics if anybody is expecting 100% delivery from polictians, the person is not being truthful to himself and definitely you cannot satisfy everbody at a time. Not endorsing mediocrity here, but there are measures to determine the scale a polictician had performed in the past.

Akpabio is a thief bro. Nothing to pontificate abt him except that he stole and killed recklessly. The only project associated wit Akpabio is that stadium built at overestimated cost.

@ Doodoo10 Sirchino and other guys having issues with petroleum not being on the sol list. Please, in order not to waste your time, apply for PR with engineering technologist. Take my advice very well, so you won't have regrets. EA will happily give you technologist. Ask for it. There is also a queue for technologist but at least, it is on the SOL and also on CSOL. If you cn get your points to 70, you have no stress with getting PR with technologist. No.matter the thousands you pour into a petroleum masters, your pr chances remain the same..You can only hope for state nomination.Take my advice very well and START PREPARATIONS NOW.

@Mctowel01,
Thanks bro for your advise. Pls could you kindly respond to my pm.

Congrats brother. This is good news indeed.

I need the advise of the good people on this platform. I have gone through majority of the post here and i need an urgent advice from the house.

I submitted my EOI on Dec 11 for Computer Network Engineering with 65pts and am also about making payment for a master's degree. Based on some of the testimony here, am having a mind of stopping the payment because it is likely for the money to be deducted from my account by the bank next week based on my discussion with the person helping with the process.

3.5M will go a long way in helping with processing if i got ITA since the essence of the study is also for migration process with my family. What do you advice i should do.

Bro, you stand a very good chance to be invited. You may take a look at immtracker website. Your are on a better stead for invitation unless you are in so much hurry to move then your masters would make it faster. My take, wait n you will be invited

Greetings to all the Ogas on here.

You guys are wonderful.
@ Oga Bellong, Jukeblam, Bnimz, Jamson, mtcowel01, et al. I hail una.

It is quite, what it is having gone through the pages of this thread.
After much consideration and the thoughtfulness of some patriots. I have
decided to switch plans from seeking for student visa to PR route. I must say, i am inspired by the zeal of some persons here for the PR route.
Please, i have a doubt to clear as a petroleum engineer left with NSW nomination, though I undertand WA is a no go area for now.
What is the probability of being noiminated by NSW, with no relevant work history after meeting my basic 60 Points?

Thanks in anticipation for any response.

Sirchino,
I don't think as a Petroleum Engineer enrolling for Construction Project Management (CPM) will help you much. This is because the Construction Project management in SOL is underpinned by courses in Civil Engineering, building construction and in some cases architecture. It is either your undergraduate degree is in CPM or you progressed to that level from those courses i mentioned above. I hope this will help

Thank you for your candid input.

Just thought to diversify my techincal competence and still be on a good stead for o&g sector, same as sol. Though i had gone through the CPM course outline.

Your points are well noted..
Thanks

P. ENGINEERING may return back. Sometimes when the quota is full the course is removed and later returns.

For now, you may want to apply for a student visa pending when your course comes back on sol or carry on into a different pr route.

@WestAfrican , well said and noted.

Thanks...

I think Petroleum Engineering is on SOL list. If you dont meet up with the 60 point mark means you have no choice than to come over as a student and carry on from there.

Yes, it use to be on the sol list but was removed this year July. It is should be on the csol now. I am meaning to improvise as a petroleum Engineer due to this fall in oil price, to breaking into constructuin/project management which i can use to rebound when the oil price improves hence my interest in construction/project management...

Not sure if you could do those profesional courses online, that you have to research. If you cant do it online, mayb you have to get here for your master do the professional course and then apply for your pr.

Yes its possible to apply for any other visa while you are on a student visa here.

Sometimes the government puts a NO FURTHER STAY on student who are sponsored by their government or companies. So theh don't get to stay or apply for anh other visas after their studies. I know it doesn't affect you just for information sake.

WestAfrican, thank you ooo, you are really helping us alot. Now to this; what do you think for me as a petroleum Engineer now coming to run a post graduate diploma in construction/project management one of the courses prsenyly on sol for one year as a more easier n cheaper means, then settlling in for my PR?

If your BSc is on the sol list and you have up to 60 point, you can apply but if not, you have to wait and finish your study so you can claim poin for studying in OZ and use that to apply.

Hope this help shaa

Thanks for your response....
I am getting the idea now

you have to decide what you want ..if your course is listed on the sol ,and you want to go for pr , all you need is 60pts .so what you do is you analyse ur case and calculate how many points you can gather like boss westAfrica said ...
Do u understand?

Yeah bro, i do. Thanks

But i want to be sure, if i could file for my assessment while in Oz as an Engineer on a student visa runing a course on sol, construction /project management for more development in that area to fit in, without having to wait for any employer or state to sponsor my PR.

@Badneat. Please could you make an input on my case based on what you know. Thanks

WestAfrican:

You basically need around 60 point to qualify

+ If your age is btw 25-32years you score 30 point

+ If you are able to score 8 and above in all band (ielts) you get 20 point.

+ Zero point for no work experience like you mentioned

+ Your Bachelor degree will fetch you 10 point.

If you are traveling with your partner and they meet up with the skilled migration visa requirements, you get an extra 5 point. Or if you do a professional course here in australia you can get extra 5 point.

So look into the points and see if you can achieve them otherwise you can come in as a student and become a slave or trapped into paying the huge tuition fees. The choice is yours.

WestAfrican, thank you for your response. I would need clarification on coming for a professional course. Do you mean moving to Oz for the course before applying for assessment as an Engineer and then have some extra point to earn?

Also will it be possible to apply for a one year post graduate diploma in construction management and then then file for my assessment as Engineer while in Oz, to obtain a PR before the end of my Program? Which i think wld be a little cheaper and easier than masters for now. Then later i can go for my masters.
