The world is a better place without him.

TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 3:41pm On May 14, 2015
I can see most people are confused about the online application. for clarification, payment for both online and paper application will be made into a nigerian bank. so if you are applying online, when you get to the payment option, you choose the option of paying at the embassy. nothing will be done on your account till you visit the embassy. when you visit the embassy with your payment slip, your account will be activated and then they start to process your application. I prefer the online route because it is faster since decision on your application will be made in finland and not in Nigeria. about uploading documents, i think you have the maximum of 10 files to load on migri.fi, so all you need to do is to scan all your files and convert them to pdf. so, (all) your bank statement sheets (last 3 months) becomes one document, your sponsors statement (last six month) another one, insurance another one, your letter of introduction (or Sop) and your Sponsors letter of support makes another document.. also include your sponsors employment letter and pay slips then you are fine..
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 3:24pm On May 14, 2015
online is faster. scan all your documents, convert them to pdf files and upload them to your migri account.

ooluseyipa:
Okay. See d confusion here,is dt,which one shld we do. And how many doc re wegoing to upload. If that,i don't know,i will opt for paper application and have piece of mind.

just go to aiico or mutual benefit. tell them u need insurance for a year. they aiidy know all this. it costs around #31,000 or there about and you are good to go.

anthochie:
U would need one year insurance regardless of what is written. Ur insursurance must cover u to the sum of 30, 000 Euro.
I would have advicesd you buy SIP..but the price is expensive. Using SIP means there will be no issue with the verification of Ur insurance document as even the embassy recommends it. However other insurance policies are accepted...but will go through verification and other processes to ensure the quality and the ability of the firm to pay claims in case something does happen to u. This takes time. Whatever one u purchase..must be valid for one year....and be worth 30,000 Euro cover
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 10:07am On May 14, 2015
you dont need all these for finland.. just write a letter.. explaining ur motivation to study and how you plan to finance yourself.. no long thing

billydragon:
bosses, dis is wat i got on line as the major point to cover wen writin sop.....

# Why do you wish to study in d country and in the program for which you have been accepted?
# What is your overall educational goal?
# Why are you not pursuing a similar program in your country of residence/citizenship?
# What research have you done into studies in your country of residence/citizenship?
# How will this program enhance your employment opportunities in your country of residence/citizenship
# If it has been more than 2 years since you have left full-time education, please provide your C.V. (resumé).
# In the case of a minor applicant, what are your reasons for studying in Canada? What is your parents'/guardians' immigration status in their current country of residence?

my question is dis, all this question has bein answered by me in the ole opi application form. is it really compulsory to rewrite all dis again?
am jus tinkin aloud guys.....@all, sirkezman and iceberg54, abeg did u include sop in ur application when you are applying?? ur views will be highly appreciated bosses..tanks

@sirkezman which course did your younger sister apply for at UEF that gave her the €5000 yearly scholarship? And please, do you have any idea what the criteria of the award could be? Many thanks for your expected prompt reply.

PS: I'd planned to apply for General Toxicology and Environmental Health Risk Assessment MSc in the next application window. I have been in contact with one Timo Kumlin (the programme coordinator) and he says they can waive IELTS for me.
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 4:25am On May 13, 2015
she will put the whole funds. but either way is fine.

ooluseyipa:
Yes. His/her name is mari. How is ur sister going to package her own acct. Is she going to put in all d money or na 500k? Becos dts what I am puting in my acct.
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 4:24am On May 13, 2015
lol. i only paid the student union fee when i got to finland. but if helsinki is asking for something diff.. i think you have no other option than to pay

Inufele1:
@Oga Sirkezman and Iceberg54 , Please I don't understand this University of Helsinki people O, they are saying I must pay for students' Union fee (€102) before I even secure my RP. They have made June 12th the deadline for me to accept my study place and July 31st deadline for enrollment. I can't complete my enrollment at faculty without paying the Student's Union fee. Though I can complete all these processes while still in Nigeria, is this the norm or there is another way around dis?
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 1:55pm On May 12, 2015
seems you are in the same department as my lil sis. Mari is the course coordinator abi? i personally sent him/her an email, telling her to sign the scholarship contract and send it back to me but she said it isnt necessary since it has been stated on the admission letter. and yes i think she is right. just package other documents and include the details in your introductory letter/SOP and you are good to go

ooluseyipa:
@sirkezman, @ iceberg54 I ve an issue. My course coordinator said,he won't send scholarship certificate to us,dt he will only inform Finnish immigration services, which she has done. That d scholarship is mention in my admission letter,dt I shld present it like dt.
My question is,won't that have effect on my RP, becos am puting jst 500k to my acct. Am I good to go?
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 2:23pm On May 11, 2015

ooluseyipa:

TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 10:16am On May 11, 2015
oh really? you are the one to select? when did that start? dates was allocated by the embassy last year!

Goskian:
Thanks guys, I will do just that. I just sent interview booking request to the embassy now, I booked 11th June. I think you are the one to select the date of your interview, which has to be at least two weeks after your documents (hard copies) have been delivered at the embassy.
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 9:46am On May 11, 2015
Nice one there bro. kindly let me know the date you were given for your interview

olabode89:
High chief Goskian, It makes a lot of sense to go that route. I think u might have to get a letter or a short term deposit certificate from the bank. Also draft a letter of explanation in your application and find a way of relating the fixed funds in your account to support documents relating to source of the funds that have been fixed.

How far? you don book date for interview... hope u remember say na in 11 weeks time TUT they start orientation. At last I was able to push my SOA to 1.55M, so I sent a mail to Embassy of Finland, Nigeria today.

I don't know how true this is, but someone that applied late last year informed me that the interview date is approximately one month after you request for a date from the embassy. So I don jejely send them mail today. I hope to complete my online application during the weekend.
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 9:45am On May 11, 2015
sounds like a nice plan. as olabode has said, you will need to add your certificate of deposit to it and also explain in your sop. then you are good to go.

Goskian:
Hello Ladies and gentlemen, I trust your weekend was great. I wish us a very great week with interesting and palatable tidings.
@Iceberg and sirkezman, I was just thinking if one can fix the money in such a way that when bank debits the money (1.5-2m) for fixing, it will reflect on the statement of account that such amount has been fixed and it will mature at so and so date which is going to be prior to departure for finland. By this way I believe my money can continue working for me, as a business-minded person na. grin
I called the embassy already but they asked me to call back by 1 pm to make the enquiry. Let's discuss this issue and share opinions. Thanks.

Has anyone booked an appointment at the embassy yet?
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 8:37am On May 07, 2015
nothing to worry about. get a sponsor with a good source of income and you can transfer the whole funds at once. or self sponsor, in the name of your family members and your own savings.

sureb0y:
Hello house, please reply this msg as soon as possible. As things stand, I have 100k in my account. But I'm expecting about 2m from my hustle in the next 30 days (this includes borrowing from people too). I plan to submit my rp application in June. Now, how can I spread the money into my account in 1 month so it won't look like lodgement? I plan to sell my car for like 900k, then split d remaining as cash deposits in family members' names. Please honest advise needed asap, cos I want to start by putting 300k on friday. My account statement is quite eventful. i.e money dey enter and go out but no be regular money (wages) so I no go fit do payment slips and all that. I'll write a convincing letter of explanation that should appeal to logic, I just need advice on how d money should go in. Thanks in advance.

olabode89:
God go punish those UAF peeps, I go the same message from LUT. I thank God that I have been accepted at TUT. I sent UAF a nasty mail this morning.
Take heart bro and please apply to TUT, Aalto and other universities that do use UAF in admission processes.
