yes. they are hard to come by especially in my own city. i heard its better in helsinki and environs. never been there but here in oulu, its a bit hard and thats true, u stand a better chance when people who work take u to their boss.. so u will be considered for the next available position..
adebasket97:
"Jobs"

Do you mean casual jobs are "very hard" to cme by also...like vendors and the rest. And as my peeps up there said na man know man thing o "connection things"
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 8:40pm On Oct 13, 2014

dailydolar:

TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 11:36am On Oct 10, 2014
sure you are expected to have 6720 euro in ur account and with their calculation its an average of 560 per month. that estimate should last a year or at least close to a year. as average house rent where i stay (oulu) is 215euro/month so u have like 300 more to survive so its quite enough

30card:
Guys who are already in finland studying how are you guys surviving?
arr you still living on the money you had in your account? let us know
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 11:12am On Oct 06, 2014
Iceberg have spoken well. Hyva Poika

iceberg54:
I think i need to make it clearer now..

There is no general rule about how and when the money should be deposited. The fact is, u need to have 6720 euros for a year's permit. Hence you need to be able to convince the guy handling your file in migri. However from experience, take note of the following.

* They require SOA for the past 3 months (I noticed 3 months is being mentioned here. It used to be 6 months. Not aware of the change)
* Make sure the account has been active for that period. If possible, intentionally put money in it from time to time and withdraw. Just to make it active. Dont open a new account today and deposit 1.5m there tomorrow.
* Even if u have the 1.5m at once, try to drop it in the account in bits. Like 3-4 installments.
* Make sure that all those deposits are either self deposits or deposited by your sponsor. They will go through every line of transaction and if an huge amount was deposited by someone other than you or your sponsor, they will ask questions.
* Now, when u apply, at the embassy, on interview day, u will fill a consent form. This authorizes the embassy to request for your statement from the bank directly. This means that, be prepared to have that 1.5m there for the entire application period. You can perform transactions on the account but dont let the balance fall below 1.5m at any point in time.
* When embassy receives the application, they dont process it. They forward it to migri in Finland. Between 2wks-1month after you apply, migri will contact u directly asking for some additional documents. This includes your SOA from the date you visited embassy till the date you were contacted by migri. So from there they will know if you actually withdrew the money immediately u applied. So its best to leave the money there throughout. Just plead to the owner of the money and if possible tell them before hand.

When you eventually get your RP, you can wipe out your account same day.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!!

Thanks bro. I eventually chose Norwegian airline. Got a cheaper deal wv them. Thanks once again

iceberg54: Boss, apparently there was a slight problem with nairaland. I replied day before yday but my post disappeared later.

Checked for FINNAIR.

For normal tickets (i.e. without offers), u can check-in 2 bags (max 23kg each), in addition to one hand luggage. For your intended date, the price is around 370 euros. Plus/minus 3 days, money is refundable.

Currently there's an offer to Oulu. Price is about 80 euros. flights cant be rescheduled, money non refundable. Check in allowance of 1 bag(max 23kg).

Excess baggage fee: 40 euros for 2nd bag, 60 euros for 3rd and subsequent bags.

So as a sharp naija guy, if you are very sure of the date, book the offer ticket and pay extra euros if you have more than one bag.

Cheers sir!

TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 2:44pm On Aug 10, 2014
It's mandatory to send ur sponsors SOA. They need to be sure of the source of the funds u get? The best thing is to send all documents they might need to avoid further delay

adebasket97: The 6720euros must be in your account and not your dad's account. Also, to show that you're really capable you can present your dad's S0A but I don't think its mandatory.
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 1:50pm On Aug 07, 2014
Mother tongue just choose English and move on. On d insurance yes do for a yr since ur rp will b for a yr and u will renew it when u get to Finland. Send an email to d embassy and apply for a date. Send ur documents 2 2weeks to embassy. Make sure u attach ur sponsors letter, statement of account, your statement of account, your employment letter etc to ur migri page. To avoid unnecessary delay in d processing of ur application

best2com: Hello everyone, As I was applyinh for RP online, The Mother tongue selection part, there was no "Ibo".. Anyone experienced this before? Help Me please.
And, how did you go about with the whole stuff? Did you apply online, then request for an interview with the embassy to submit the original papers or any other procedure? Thank you

TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 10:11am On Jul 18, 2014
thanks man
i believe too

u in finland aiidy?

iceberg54: Lol......mine was like every 30 minutes.

The online application really made the stuff faster.

The notification usually comes about 2wks after a decision has been made. That is what it takes them to manufacture the card and send to embassy in naija.

Don't worry, if it were negative, u would have been notified already.

Congrats in advance sir!

well if have the funds and a good source of income. then there is no need for sponsor.. just have a good source of income and necessary documents

adebasket97: Yup bro. This is the main reason I asked about the embassy stuff. Is it compulsory to provide a sponsors SOA. If I have the cash in my account and no sponsor, any drawback?
TravelRe: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by sirkezman: 10:25pm On Jul 16, 2014
