Seun: OAM4J is doing a fantastic job, but nobody is perfect. He is fantastic in 99% of the things he does. But no man is an island; we all need help.

I will remove any moderator if I'm presented with enough evidence to convince me that the moderator needs to be removed. Even sexkillz.

Every time I meet with our human resources mod to discuss who to appoint, he starts trying to convince me to follow his direction instead of following my direction. I find that to be very irritating so I have been ignoring him for some time. We need to find a way to resolve this soon.
is it obinoscopy?
PoliticsRe: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by SirTunechi(f): 9:44pm On Nov 12, 2013
Oga seun, make me a moderator and everything would be well in this section. I am an igbo by birth, yoruba by lifestyle and hausa by language. I am so perfect for this position. But if you don't want to consider my request i would advice you keep sexkillz, he is doing a very good job. Thanks!
PoliticsRe: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by SirTunechi(f): 9:26pm On Nov 12, 2013
Seun: Feel free to report their posts if you feel they have broken the rules. They will be banned by sexkillz, afam4eva or OAM4J. At least one of them

If someone "denigrates" your tribe and you insult and abuse them over that, you have broken a rule of Nairaland and it attracts a ban. And so it must be, for so it is written, on the doorway to paradise, that those who falter and those who fall must pay the price. Daz all.
please spell words correctly when you post, and try to use perfect grammar and punctuation
you deserve a ban boss
HealthRe: Simple Way To Know If You Have Bad Breath by SirTunechi(f): 6:54pm On Nov 12, 2013
[quote
author=Mobsync]Lick your wrist with your tongue in just one
swipe

Then, leave the wrist to dry (this takes only a few seconds)

After your wrist has dried, smell it. Any smell it gives off is the
smell of your mouth and breath.

What is bad breath?

Bad breath, also known as halitosis, fetor oris, ozostomia or
stomatodysodia is an unpleasant smell that is given off from the nose or
mouth of an individual when he or she breathes or speaks.
Causes of bad breath

(1) Types of food or drinks ingested: Foods with strong odours like
onions and garlic; exotic spices like curry, thyme and cinnamon and
beverages like coffee, when ingested and digested, are absorbed into the
bloodstream from where they enter the lungs and are expelled when
breathing. And unfortunately, even after brushing and flossing, their
smell doesn't go away unless they've completely passed through the blood
system.

(2) Poor dental hygiene: Improper cleaning of dentures (artificial
teeth) and failure to (properly) brush, floss and tongue scrape daily
causes food particles to remain between the teeth, gums and on the
tongue which causes bad breath.

(3) Use of depressants and stimulants: Depressants and stimulants like
tobacco (smoked, chewed or sniffed) and alcohol enter the bloodstream
from where they make their way to the lungs and are also expelled when
breathing.

(4) Health problems: Health problems like gum disease, candidiasis
(yeast infection), xerostomia (dry mouth which can be caused by
continuous breathing through the mouth), diabetes, pneumonia, sore
throat, and Gastro Esophageal Reflex Disease (GEAD) which is the
backflow of acid from the stomach to the mouth and also, damaged
internal organs like the liver and kidney release toxins which are
expelled through the nose and mouth and cause bad breath.

(5) Lack of carbohydrate: High protein and low carbohydrate consumption
causes the body to burn stored fats for fuel and leads to a condition
known as ketosis because as fat burns, ketones are built up in the body
and are released through breathing.

Treatment of bad breath

Make sure you brush, floss and tongue scrape at least twice daily
(see image below). Tongue scrapers are sold in pharmacies but if you
can't get one, use a teaspoon.

Drink plenty of fluids especially water so as to prevent saliva
imbalance which causes dry mouth.
Quit the use of tobacco and alcohol.
Limit spicy foods, coffee and other foods with strong odours.
Take more of wholegrain carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables.
Take tea, as polyphenol present in tea plant helps hinder bacteria
growth.
Take sugarless gums as they contain xylotol which kills bacteria and
reduces plague but note that the use of gums, mints and mouthwash only
stop bad breath temporarily.
Finally, you might need to consult your dentist or doctor as the bad
breath could be due to health factor.

EducationRe: Nigerian Tertiary Institutions And Hand-outs by SirTunechi(f): 8:00pm On Nov 11, 2013
boay: Hello Nairalanders
It is not a subject of debate whether hand outs are being sold to students in some tertiary institutions in Nigeria. In my school(OAU), lectures dont sell hand out to students but they sometimes release material for the class representative to make photocopy so that other students can also do the same. NO COMPULSION

I was very surprised when I listen to my friend from a polytechnic(FEDPOFFA) who narrated her ordeal about buying hand outs. According to her hand outs are means of passing exams automatically, atleast the lecturer will give you a pass mark if your name is among those who bought his/her hand outs.

Here are my questions:
1. Is it lawful for lecturers to sell hand outs?
If NO
2. What is NANS doing about it?
3. How can we fight against this?
4. What is the situation in your school. Kindly include the name.
Thanks
the lecturers in your school don't do it, so why are you forming commando for another person's problem na. Or is she your girlfriend ?
