We have so many issues plaguing this country from all sectors and income generated cannot sustain or solve these issues. What kind of sacrifices do you want from government exactly? We have to come to terms with reality, the money generated by the educational system can't solve half the issues plaguing our universities alone not to talk of secondary and primary. Our universities need to start generating reasonable amount to contribute to the our national revenue. Until we pass through this fire before we can finally relax if not we'll just be beating around the bush

Even if everything comes down to income generated...the educational system still has a role to play

I see schools abroad where the students are challenged to solve pressing needs of the economy...in terms of ideas, concepts and designs that bring about that revenue generation we're looking for...where organizations, corporations and various establishments within and outside the country come to seek solutions to pertinent issues, then we can say we have arrived.

Till we make our education system what it is...we would have those in position of power and leadership sending their children abroad cz they know that we can't offer half of what is given outside our shores.

catchment area of the school. Some people fail to
understand what catchment area means; but I will shed
more light on it.
Catchment area can be described as states that will be
considered admission if they do not meet the cut off
mark. For example, catchment areas for UNILAG are Ekiti,
Lagos, Ogun, Osun, and Oyo. How does this works?
Simple!!! Assuming student A from Jigawa state and
student B from Osun state Has 250 and 240 in JAMB
respectively. In UNILAG, student B will be considered
because he is from the catchment area despite having a
lower mark compared to student A from Jigawa.

There are few details missing from the catchment area writeup...

For those in the catchment area they have a lower cut off than the regular, so they still have that as a target to meet

so if from your example, the catchment area cutoff mark is 241 (despite if the regular cutoff was 245 or 249), the Osun state student has no chance cz he/she was given an advantage that wasn't capitalized on...meanwhile the Jigawa candidate gets in with no hustle
