crowley: it is not a flexibility, it a routine. and it drives me nutssssss!!!! U are being controlled by time. You sell your time for money. That prostitution to life. The bill gates of the world dnt live like that. Like animals caged and told what to do or not. It makes me physically sick. Too bad the Nigerian system does nt give us the chance to break into the bill gates world. monday to friday you must be at work at 8am - 5pm, saturday you do ur chores, sunday 8am - 12noon at church. every single day till we quit or get fired 4 breaking one fu€king rule.. sorry for my foul language. just pissed we dnt get to live life to its fullest. we cant go hiking, we cant travel round the world for site seeing nd just enjoy life. we fu€king have to always be at work to live. That is the life most people get cz of the official work wahala. I see very people each day living that life...where you can even hit the gym every morning or head down to a sporting club. They're never in a hurry to get up in the morning to beat traffic. |

SleekyPosh: Your Salary is that Bribe you Keep getting in Order to remain a Caged slave to another Mans dream..
For me I will rather become a Fulfilled Farmer or CEO of my own Buisness Empire than waste my life, time and Energy on another Mans ambition.
BTW..
Beautiful Piece @OP. Remember people would still have to work for you when you start your business Your motivation shouldn't be cz you feel like a slave building another man's dream, but rather cz you have a plan, and your current situation is just a means to get there...either financially or maybe an understudy from your current employer or just learning a thing or two from others around you before you move forward |

Upon the fact that they marry up to four wives, they still act like dogs. Nonsense Maybe he was looking for another wife...you know they select them at that kind of age But seriously...why do certain people permit interaction with minors, cz there is a problem with sexual advances to children being a norm |

benji93: As much as i am not against awards given to students for their excellence over their peers in the memorization of methods of solving predefined problems in very very basic science, you dont give people money to pursue research activities until they have proven their mettle.that should be in the tertiary institutions.Mind you their are some scientists that are more theoretical than they are practical, but theoretical science(physics for instance) is probably as important as its complementary practical knowledge, you dont conduct an experimental research work, without a purpose or a direction, the theories serve to guide our experimental work, theories could be advanced development of knowledge gained from previous experiments or theories, sometimes a theory could be a total departure from precedence, and those usually lead to breakthroughs. So focusing on paper should be part of our university system. At the research level, it is necessary.so probably you meant to say that, we only read science literature, we largely do not contribute to it. I get all you said...but what I mean is a balance. Not just for us to read paper, acquire certificate then it's all over. I mean a system where the practical aspect is imbibed in each student, so that people who have that flair, drive and intellect can be cultured into making things work. Here in Nigeria, there are definitely undiscovered talents who never got the chance cz we did what we do best...continue a cycle Regarding this case...like you rightly implied, it might end up being an underutilised resource cz I dunno what the young man can achieve at this stage. When I read through and saw that all he did was answer objective questions...then I realised he needs to do more; either advanced development of knowledge gained from previous experiments or theories, or a total departure from precedence. Initially, I thought he used his basic knowledge to do something out of the norm and thus was given a grant to follow up on a indepth research to make it better or more efficient |

kumulus: Congrats to d dude but this isn't wat I was expecting to see when the mentioned 'Scientist'.....
***Pls don't ask me what I was expecting to see....IF you have brain, I mean IF YOU HAVE BRAIN, you'll know I do hope Nigeria gives him the opportunity to thrive...cz the money is not just meant for school fees alone, but to enable him carry out research that can lead to pioneer discoveries in science and technology; applying knowledge from core subjects learnt in school. But I think that might be a challenge, cz we focus more on paper than what really is necessary for our university system in Nigeria. May God guide our leaders right...we need something different from the norm year after year |
