The irony is that later Human rights will say you can't seperate parent and child and end up giving parents and putting parents worse case on a 10 year path

Even today I got another update on this at the hospital where I took my wife to and we were on some paper work for my child. My dear, let's just take each day as it comes and give God thanks in all things, that's the focus, enjoy the rest of the beautiful day o jare.

The below which I got from this link will provide clarity. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1060729/E02724891_-__HC_1118__-_EXPLANATORY_MEMORANDUM__PRINT_.pdf

Appendix Private Life introduces new rules for children, bringing the concession that allows children and young adults to qualify for settlement in 5 years into the rules, and aims to ensure these applicants benefit from simplified immigration rules.
Changes from the provisions in the current rules include:
• A person who arrived in the UK as a child and was subsequently granted
permission to stay based on private life, as either a child who has been resident
for 7 years, or a young adult who meets the half-life test (between the ages of
18 and 25), may be able to qualify for settlement after five years continuous
residence on the private life route. This replaces the requirement for such a
child or young adult to have permission under the private life rules for 10-
years to qualify for settlement;
• Children and young adults will be able to be granted permission for an initial
period of either 30 or 60 months rather than 30 months only at present;
• A child born in the UK who has lived in the UK continuously for 7 years can
qualify for immediate settlement. Such a child may be eligible for citizenship
at 10 years old, so the change will support their journey to citizenship;
• A child born in the UK who has been continuously resident in the UK for less
than 7 years may be added as a dependant to a person on the private life route
in certain circumstances, making it clearer how these children are able to
regularise their immigration status;
• Where a dependent child born in the UK is being granted permission and both
parents have permission in the UK (unless the parent on the private life route
has sole responsibility, or the other parent is a British Citizen/ordinarily
resident or there are compelling and compassionate circumstances), the child
will be granted permission in line with the parent who has shorter leave. This
is a change to the length of leave granted to children born in the UK under Part
8 family provisions but brings consistency with other simplified routes.
• Appendix Private Life is intended to comply with Article 8 of the European
Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and where a person does not meet
eligibility requirements, we have clarified that they may still be granted on this
route to ensure compliance with Article 8. This will provide transparency for
all users.
• Applicants will need to meet requirements in Appendix Continuous Residence
to qualify for settlement.
• Where a dependent child under 18 is applying, suitable care and
accommodation arrangements must be in place which comply with UK laws

My dear, don't stress yourself jare. It was written in English, those who also form a cardinal part of the economy have spoken, and that's the focus. We thank God for the update, no shaking at all. Cheers!

Don't worry like i said to you before...if your wife is expecting a child then apply after 5yrs then come here to call me out.

Its obviously that you have refused to read this immigration changes published sometimes last year properly and understand it.

My reply has got you triggered but no worries street immigration lawyers will take you to the cleaners here.

The video you uploaded is saying children born here can apply after 7 yrs (1.08 mins) and you are still here arguing

Do have a great day sir

It does not mean that a child born in the UK will apply after 5yrs

Its for young people and not for a child.

Eligibility Criteria For Grant Of ILR Under The Concession

To be eligible for ILR under the early settlement concession an applicant must (at the date of application):

Be aged 18 years or above and meet the criteria set out in paragraph 276ADE(1)(v) by having spent at least half of his/her life living continuously in the UK (discounting any period of imprisonment) or has met the criteria set out
in paragraph 276ADE(1)(v) in a previous application for leave to remain;
Have either been born in or entered the UK as a child;
Have held limited leave on the basis of family life or private life, for example under Appendix FM, Part 7 or granted outside the Immigration Rules, for a continuous period of five years, disregarding any period of overstaying where
paragraph 39E of the Rules applies; and
Be eligible for further leave to remain under paragraph 276ADE(1) of the Immigration Rules (or, having previously qualified under paragraph 276ADE(1)(v), be eligible for further leave to remain under paragraph 276BE) and have made an application under those rules.

Like I said, I stand to be corrected, and I think it's clear enough. If you read the full internal memo, you will see there are various criterias, one of which is "if the child is born in the UK and has held limited visas for a continous period of five years, the Law isn't putting a bench mark on" only " 18 years and above. There are various averments which have been clearly spelt out in the article. Like I said, a further research will give you more insights and enlighten others as well.

If you work in the healthcare sector (even as a Healthcare assistant) you can get your ihs refunded after a period of time "only if you apply"

Link to support this?

Its called concession on longer settlement, its meant to come into force in a month or so, you can check it out via google as well. I was even told about it by my wife's midwife before I ran into this material. I stand to be corrected tho, kindly give insights if this is false (which I doubt it is). A deep research if you deem fit, will be necessary.

It's probably becos they were also trying to obey rule 3 by staying away from their fellow country people

Making frivolous reports about fellow Nigerians is also part of the rule? Reports that dolt hold any ground and was so ignored by management? What a perspective lol

No 3 touch me ooo. I am all about our people raising our people. ... how can we grow if we run away from each other

Truth be told, in some cases we hate ourselves. I got a job in a hospital as a mental health worker, the hospital is one of the biggest in the UK, they even have branches in Dubai and other top sites in the world, we got some Nigerian nurses from dubai to come work here, these nurses got here and started seeing us as competition, I mean most of us aren't nurses yet o, we are morelike assistant nurses and some of us are aiming getting a nursing degree in two years or so (since it's flexible here even with any degree as your first degree you can get your M. Sc. in Nursing as well as your license), these Nigerian nurses tend to be more friendly with other nationals, offer more assistance to them, you greet these nurses, they don't answer you, they make frivolous reports against some of us being that they want to prove they are working and these has made them look funny to management because the reports don't hold any grounds. Truth is, just be at the top of your game, remain straight forward and upright in your dealings, hopefully, one day, we get to see ourselves as one.

There is no right or wrong answer to this. Some will agree that you are being crazy for not grabbing the sponsorship ‘opportunity’ with both hands, while some would argue that ‘at what cost’? From your tone, it seems you do not want to sacrifice your family for the fast track ILR. While I agree that not every opportunity is an opportunity, my advice for you would be to sit down with your other half and agree what’s best for your family.

If you could get 2 job offers at the same time now, you will certainly get another one with sponsorship close to home - sooner or later. See these 2 offers as your stepping stone - each has one advantage over the other - so the question you should ask yourself is which of the 2 do you want to take as a stepping stone to what you really want? England for a few months to start the ILR clock or Scotland for a few months to get UK work experience and boost your chances of getting one with sponsorship locally? Whatever decision you make is not crazy - they are both valid and sensible - you just need to decide based on what you believe is best for you and your family, given the circumstance.

PS: if you take the one without sponsorship and perform really well on the job and decide to leave after a few months due to sponsorship, chances are they will offer you the sponsorship to keep you. And if they don’t, it’s their loss!

Finally, you will receive advice from people based on their own circumstance and what matters to them. What you make of it, is entirely up to you.

You spoke with so much wisdom

Greetings from Dubai.

Visa Alert! And little testimony.

It's been heck of a journey. The last time I felt like this was in 2012 when Drogba was walking to take the last penalty kick...it was like forever.

It was almost impromptu. It was just late October we decided to apply. Almost too late for January enrolment. Admission came, but there was just no way we could meet the deadline for Pof at Bradford. But our agent said NO PROBLEM. so we took leap of faith, submitted four days POF. {don't use this as yardstick. It's just pure favour}.

Luckily, my wife was scheduled for interview. Alas, network took better part of the interview. Everyone she met on telegram got CAS but she didn't. We wrote a 'beautiful' letter to the interviewer and copied Andrew. Two hours later, CAS dropped. Hallelujah!

She applied but no date till 4th January and my son got Biometrics for 6th. I couldn't wait for them, I went ahead to submit my application on 20th, Biometrics on 22nd December. I applied for priority. (ain't that foolish? Main applicant has not done Biometrics, dependent dey do priority).

They dashed me NSF on 30th December and asked me to submit copy of my wife's application. I did same day. VAC dispatched my parcel yesterday, I received it today.

To crown it, my wife's passport arrived at TLS ikeja today also only after 7days. Wonderful God.

He who began the good work is capable to finish it as we await our son's application to be moved back to VAC.

SPECIAL THANKS TO @SIRWELLINGTON and hosts of others. Merci!

Congrats bro. See you soon.
