Oga, I have been to Badagry. Can you compare it to Elmina Castle, Cape Coast Castle, Osu Castle, and many others? If you are interested in the slavery thing, there are many far better places for tourism than the dry Badagry.

To your second point, yes, there are far more pyramids in Suda,n but any and every tourist would be interested in seeing the best, most historic, and the biggest. If I had limited time in Africa, it would be a complete waste to go see unnamed and obscure pyramids in Sudan when the best are. It is quality over quantity.

To the last point, let's be honest, do you really think Lugard House in Kogi, the Shrine, and Badagry even start the argument for Nigeria being in the top 25 inAfrica? Let's be honest here
What you are referring to are personal preferences. Nigerians did not see a big deal in Igbo Ora until UNESCO recognized it. One man's meat is
..

I just saw that you updated your comment. Badagry shouldn't even be mentionedhuh Really? Okay thank you for this conversation.

Oga, just one question to make you understand. If you are an American looking for a waterfall to visit in Africa, why would you visit Erin Ijesha, Gurara, and Farin Ruwa when you could just visit Victoria Falls?

Again, have you ever seen the pyramids in Egypt? That's why people visit Egypt. That country may not have a safari, but it is an archaeological gold mine.

You are a travel advisor, and your European clients want to visit 20 African countries for a breathtaking, remarkable experience. Make an argument why Nigeria should be on that list.
.

Your first question, my answer is THAT IS WHAT IS SHOWN OR MARKETED TO ME. When the Jacksons came to Nigeria, they went to Badagry because of the story there.

To your second point, I'm sure you know in history about Egypt and Sudan. Sudan actually has more pyramids in the world than any other country but we go to Egypt, not Sudan.

For your last question, na Hawanatu Musawa go answer that one o. Na her work be dat cheesy but she's been talking about Shettima not being replaced so maybe there's something else she needs to do. On a more serious note, I will argue if I was given the task because one man cannot build a country, it's concerted efforts. I will advocate more based on sentiments and what I know but this may not be felt by the foreigners. For instance, I personally like the 'mystery' around Lugard House in Kogi but what's the concern of Michael with that? Again, I cited Macron's visit to the Shrine and that was because he lived here so he must have visited the place for fun as an officer. The government has to coordinate all of these and make it a package people are interested in. For so long, our government did not see the value in Nollywood but the artistes did and they saw the value and recognition when they went out of Nigeria. When you travel as a Nigerian, who do foreigners ask you about your country? It's what they see they know. If I visit a film festival, they will show me a place where a popular actor stepped foot on. Tourism is a serious topic to be worked on by our government. There is no need to

Oga, I can bet you have not traveled much. With all the many things you wrote, you could not mention one beautiful place in Nigeria. Now, I did not say that Nigeria doesn't have beautiful places, but for it to become a meaningful international tourist attraction, you have to compare it to other African destinations. My guy, your country won't crack the top 20. There is nothing really remarkable; our mountains are not close to the biggest, and our wildlife does not rank in the top 25. Our lakes are just there compared to many others. Our waterfalls are ordinary. So what is the Nigerian advantage?
Travel outside Nigeria, and you will see that we have nothing to boast of.
In Nigeria, we still think Olumo Rock is some remarkable thing.
I deliberately did not write where I have traveled to for my personal reasons. I have been to nothing less than 30 states in Nigeria FYI. And when I say visit, it's not a one night stay or passing by. But if you take it that I am not well traveled because I refuse to mention one place, I am not obliged to release information about myself to the internet. Some bloggers are able to show us what they have experienced. Whenever I see what's visual, I share, just like I did in previous posts here. Which reminds me, when you watch travel bloggers from Around the World in 80 days to YouTubers, it's all about showing different experiences and environments.

First off, nobody is claiming Nigeria beats Kenya or Tanzania at classic safari tourism. Tourism isn’t a premiership board where “biggest mountain and most lions = top places to visit.” By that logic, Switzerland should be irrelevant because it has no wildlife, and Dubai should be nothing but sand. Nigeria doesn’t have Kilimanjaro neither does Ghana, Senegal, or The Gambia and people still visit them. Obudu isn’t meant to compete with the Atlas or wherever similar but it competes with places like Nyungwe (Rwanda) or Cameron Highlands (Malaysia) with cool weather, views, forest hikes.

We are also not top-tier safari. But again, Morocco, Egypt, Cape Verde, Tunisia, none of these are wildlife destinations either, yet they outperform many “wildlife-rich” countries in tourism. Why? Culture, cities, food, history, access. Most famous waterfalls worldwide aren’t extreme. Niagara falls in Canada is basically wide water falling off a modest drop. Erin Ijesha, Gurara, Farin Ruwa aren’t “ordinary” in a global sense, they’re ordinary only if you’re benchmarking everything against Victoria Falls, which is lazy comparison. I remember listening to Saheed Osupa Who was so disappointed with Niagara falls and he was asking himself if we didn't have that at home. I chuckled. I am sure you must have watched the AFCON or bits of it, I told someone that there's a reason the Arabs invested in a loss making world cup in Qatar. Morocco is also hosting different tournaments because it's part of the government's plan to attract new investments and showcase their tourism industry

Lagos alone generates more global cultural influence than entire African countries that rank higher in “tourism beauty.” Nollywood, Afrobeats, fashion, nightlife, these are real tourism drivers globally. I don't want to veer into entertainment and focus on nature. Ask why people go to Seoul, Mumbai, or São Paulo. It’s not waterfalls. So yeah, if your definition of tourism is “animals + tall things,” Nigeria has nothing to show. But that’s not how modern tourism works, and plenty of successful destinations prove it. Even SMALL Detty December that Lagos did got Accra shaking. If Nigeria takes organization seriously, I won't have to write story. Our vibe alone is much to be experienced.

The issue isn’t that Nigeria has “nothing”, it’s that we keep marketing the wrong things and underinvesting in the things we’re actually good at. When you travel to any country, from the planes, you start reading about the country and destinations. You see places you can visit. I was writing on the other thread why the place Tafawa Balewa died isn't a historical site or why Akintola's house was converted to a court. There are plenty stories to tell about is and only the outsider sees us better. I wrote there too why you think visitors go to Mende in Maryland to buy hand made products but there are too many things to sell that we don't see them. When I travel, what each country sells is not special, they are selling their stories and if nature is part of it, it's an extra.
France sells romance, food, fashion, and museums. The USA sells scale, cities, entertainment, and national parks. Brazil sells carnival, football, beaches, and energy.
Japan sells culture, technology contrast, food, and order. Thailand sells affordable luxury, mangirls cheesy beaches, and nightlife.
The UAE sells excess, luxury, shopping, and spectacle. Morocco sells exotic culture, old cities, and desert views. Egypt sells ancient history, pyramids, and legacy. Kenya and Tanzania sell safari and wildlife. Tanzania adds Kilimanjaro as the extra. Rwanda sells gorillas, order, and cleanliness. Cleanliness is a feature but it's also tourism and people go to Rwanda and Japan just to feel cleanliness. Ghana sells heritage, diaspora connections, and culture.

At least 26 states, and to me, the state with the most natural beauty is Taraba
Someone who has travelled 26 states of Nigeria can never write what you wrote. I agree that Taraba is beautiful. In all my travel round Nigeria, the country is blessed. I know some foreigners who deliberately come to Nigeria, Kano precisely because of the sun. East, West, South or North, the country is beautiful. There's nothing they show abroad in their tourist sites that Nigeria does not have the equivalent. They are just poorly managed and our government officials don't think. Train rides was a norm in the past and people schooled in the north and lived in the south. I am always wondering why our president will be doing vacation abroad where Obudu is. There are places in Ondo and Enugu to get away from the noise and live on the hills. Cold, hot, mid, you'll find it in the country and the natural scenery is nothing to be seen elsewhere.

I am happy social media is now capturing some of the beauty for all to witness

PoliticsRe: Sowore Calls Wike "A Bully", Predicts Political Disgrace (Video) by SixSeven: 11:07am On Jan 28
Sowore himself is a bully. What's the definition of bully.

bully1
/ˈbʊli/
noun
a person who habitually seeks to harm or intimidate those whom they perceive as vulnerable.

someone who hurts or frightens someone else, often over a period of time, and often forcing them to do something that they do not want to do

I like Sowore's analysis. He's useful to our ecosystem but whenever I listen to him, he threatens people who are his opposition. That's why I know he can't be a good leader. Of course, exchanging insults is part of the trade but with his SR and his interviews, you see someone who is just like Wike. And to me, these kind of people are not good leaders but they are good critics and democracy needs them on the other side. SR used to publish stories about individuals and threaten them, call them names and intimidate them because they have intel from their sources. I guess his aluta was installed in him so he can't take it away. When Sowore talks about other candidates, that's when you see his bullish side. Someone who releases confidential information between himself and another person, especially as a journalist who is trained to protect his spruces cannot be trusted with leadership. It's like Trump who released Marco Rubio's note to the press and showed us Macron's text. That's what Bullies do.

Those who want him are the racists who are insecure and want to blame everyone else for their insecurity. The problem with America is they overdo. The left overdid their ideology that Americans needed someone to reset their brains... And more young people are getting conservative probably because they've lived their early lives liberally on the internet and need a reality check. People have already posted what it will look like if Vance takes over and Donald is still on 3G. The Republican party needed him because of his base and whatever they needed to win the elections just as Democrats tolerated Obama against the institution of Clinton when they saw that his base was organic. The left had gone too far left recently and Donald is also going too far right. Wither the equilibrium?

Therefore, Lagos city kept on choking with relevant and irrelevant migrants daily who are there for survivors.... I could think that Cross River, Akwa Ibom, which is far better than Lagos in terms of tourism, will take up this challenge, thereby making their state a hub for tourism, but the reverse is the case. @ Topic No one told Macron where to go when he went to The Shrine as a President. Many of you don't know what it is to LIVE. They have influenced our brain to think it has to be infrastructure whereas it's the little things of life that counts. When you see tourists going to Mende to buy hand woven baskets and collections, E get why. When you go abroad, what do they show you? Historical sites. What do we do here? We destroy them and build modern infrastructure on it 🤡

Yesterday I listened to Soludo threaten the market people that he will bulldoze the buildings just because they don't open on Mondays and I smh at a professor who should know better. We love to destroy at the slightest provocation.

By the way, this is one reason Nigerians love shopping abroad. To them, luxury is about posing in front of a modern shop and consumption 😂 We never learn, it's all show off.

Tourism-wise, Nigeria has very little to offer, and as for nightlife, maybe Lagos and that's it. Then, when it comes to culture, if you are lucky, he will come during one of our traditional ceremonies, that is, if it is his thing. Honestly, we need to develop our tourism. We dont realy have much to show the world.

What pella is saying might sound crude and unserious...

But traditional or formal education is rigid and slow to reward effort. Maybe the system needs reforms to make it less rigid in a fast paced and changing world.

Where pella is wrong is presenting it generally that formal education is useless or a waste. He should present it like education doesn't fit his chosen career path not that education doesn't have value.

Success is not a one show size fits all!
The traditional school may be outdated but there's no place on earth where education will be ran on overdose. Every school, whether it's the western school or traditional school requires discipline and patience. This guy is taking drugs but he doesn't know. All of us who use the smartphone, research has shown that it's like dopamine effect. Imagine that kind of person now forced to sit down to listen to a teacher when there's fun and excitement in streaming and sharing, like, comment and repost. His reward system has been messed up. Imagine the internet going off for a week, there will be a crisis for this young man because he feeds on attention to survive. Streaming is even worse than recording videos and posting when it's ready.

We have had enough time to see the effect of social media and technology and I put it to you that the world is now admitting that we don't need it in the classroom. France is banning it in their schools and others are proposing policies to go back to old school. His brain cannot handle the patience of education and that is a life problem. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

Dear men... Kindly make your marriage work. Also stop producing baby mamas. If you can't abstain, ensure you don't impregnate.

Do this for the sake of innocent child that will suffer the consequences.

As for the ladies, always try to be sensible and not take decisions out of emotions.

At the long run, it's the ladies who bears the greater part of the consequence. A lady who play runs to feed herself, when the sun set on her beauty, she may become miserable without any source of income. But a man, even at 60 years can just enter site and do labour work. At least money to feed no fo hard.

That's why I said ladies should be sensible.
.. Thank you, I repost my previous comment.

The bad rap single women have on this forum is for me a disgrace to men because that baby mama and baby daddy nonsense is a sign of failed family upbringing. While people can lose their loved ones or divorce due to irreconcilable differences, men who leave their wives or did not consult the elders before marrying into a family are a big disgrace to men. Give me a man that has 3 wives above useless sissies who are comfortable with their women mothering their kids alone abandoned.

You people copied the thing the government used against the Blacks in US and left your culture. Now you are telling us about single moms 🤡 Nonsense

In some cultures, the brother married off his late bro's wife because women were never treated like Street Vendors and abandoned. I blame women too because western influence has deceived them with one yeye independence and fake patriarchy that we are having more kids without dads because of some strong head women.

Where is the honor our women once had?

Who are the men getting them pregnant and leaving them?

Who are the families allowing their daughters wore about?

You can't just blame the women. Men are the biggest culprits because let's assume women are moomoo as many of you claim, who are the moomoo men planting their seeds in her 🤡 Weak men. Clowns.... It was a ticking time bomb, Nigerians copied street lifestyle of America and the 'independent' life of Europe, then abandoned their own traditions and culture about marriage, family and childbirth, here is the result....
