lol dont do the math  cause it goes by states, regions not by tribe.
You are using information to bash Lagos when previously you said igbos are 40% of Lagos population.
Of course poverty in SW increased when there's an overwhelmingly amount of migration from all over Nigeria (the west is more hospitable). The study was done by region so those igbos in Lagos are part of what effected the increase of pverty in the SW.
As population increases from outside migration in an area so does poverty and criminals practices. DUH
Lol population in the SE is probably the smallest in Nigeria, so its expected to have less poverty(but i still dont know why everyones kidnapping) from your fact you posted

lol its funny how you dont add Rivers to your list of armed robbers when you people said 80% of it is igbo or whatever and it was among the highest in the country. hypocrites

Nigerians love to use reports made by the Government, they believe it when it favors them and call it a lie when it doesn't. What about the report from the igbo senator that said igbo birth rate is on decline, maybe hes telling the truth since you believe this cbn is accurate and true.

The difference my friend is that we need to declare war on rigging and voters' disenfranchisement. It is either Ojukwu got caught up in emotions or simply played into the hands of the press.
Thank you
Not to mention Akande didn't head the first civil war and Akande didn't say his people are looking onto him to be "commander in chief".

EUT: May7ven tells us a bit about yourself?

My name is May7ven I was born on the 7th of May that's where the name originates from and the number 7 is when my dad played professional football he wore the number 7 jersey throughout his career.
The number 7 was his lucky mascot number, I was born on the 7th and we lived at 7th avenue. It's a whole numerology thing it's a number of perfection (laughs). So when I was choosing a stage name for myself I didn't wanna be like a conventional R&B singer I wanted a bit of an edge to me, I can rap if I want, wear jeans if I want yeah there are lots of reasons behind that name.

EUT- What's your heritage?
I was born in Ibadan, Nigeria and I've been here (UK) now all my life so yeah I'm Yoruba (laughs). Both of my parents are Yoruba.

LDA’s collection filled the runway with yards of lace, Tartan and adorable flower applique. She features dresses which can be worn out to lunch and those  that will definitely make statements in social events! She mixes soft colours with delicate fabrics to execute very feminine pieces. And as for the bolder pieces, she experiments with  vibrant colour mixes, intense ruffles and rose applique. The pieces in this collection are expressive of an eccentric, vibrant yet an equally subtle personality.

i assume youre not yoruba or maybe a very stupid one because any sensible yoruba person would know that egba omo yoruba doesnt have anything to do with being Nigerian as i said earlier. Egbe omo yoruba clearly states " Egbe Omo Yoruba, National Association of Yoruba Descendants . . . . ."

I dont see any particular thing stating ONLY Nigerian yorubas anywhere there

so i think its hard for you to grasp the Idea of what egbe omo yoruba is.

and for your information the Togo and beninoise president have stated their ethnic origins being from ife and oyo. Last time i checked they were both in Yorubaland which happen to be in Naija. So either way your Argument or point is dead. sorry
CultureRe: Celebrating Egbe Omo Yoruba by sjeezy8: 10:41am On Nov 06, 2009
please tell me the meaning of "egbe omo yoruba" since you think it means yorubas who are only in Nigeria.
And where in any of its websites or meeting does it say for yorubas in Nigeria ONLY?

Who are the Yoruba?
The first obvious answer to this question is the Yoruba are a nationality, numbering about 40 million, the majority of whom live in the South Western part of the state of Nigeria in West Africa. Obvious as this answer is, it is not wholly explanatory, and certainly, it is not without its own controversy. First, regarding its explanatory status. One has to add, that the Yoruba are people, that speak a common language, Yoruba, which belongs to the Kwa group of the Niger-Congo linguistic family, and it has about 12 dialects; that they are a well urbanized group with genius in arts as symbolized in the famous "Ife Bronzes"; that Yoruba people are also found in Togo, Benin Republic and in other parts of the world, including Brazil, Cuba, Trinidad, and the United States. Second, regarding its controversial status, one has to confront the question what makes the Yoruba a nationality, or a nation, not a tribe or clan, and how does one then mark a distinction between Yorubaland and Nigeria.
now when i say yoruba I mean a person who sabi yoruba well well and can tell their origin. All the people i Posted of being yoruba can do so.

and which people that i posted do you think are not yoruba ?

Sunny Ade's Musical Sound has evolved from the early day when the band was called Green Spot, then African Beats and Golden Mercury. His career, which began with Moses Olaiya's Federal Rhythm Dandies, a highlife band. He left to form The Green Spots in 1967. Over the years for various reasons ranging from changes in his music to business concerns,Sunny Ade's band changed from being Green spots to African Beats, and then to Golden Mercury.

Jeffrey Lawal-Balogun: from chasing buses to chasing dreams
Jeffrey Lawal-Balogun powered to the top of the UK 200m rankings with a sensational PB of 20.38 last month. spikesmag.com caught up with him ahead of this weekend’s Aviva World Trials and UK Championships.  It turns out he had a very unusual introduction to the sport…

23-year-old sprinter Jeffrey Lawal-Balogun rocketed to the top of the European rankings with a stellar 200m performance in Switzerland last month. This summer he could be competing for Great Britain at the World Championships in Berlin,  just four years after his talent was spotted – as he sprinted for a bus.

“I was coming home from college when I saw the 28 bus,” Lawal-Balogun tells spikesmag.com. “I started running for it but just missed it.

“A girl saw me run, she said I was fast and that I should go to a club,” he says.

Aloy~Emeka:
Sjeezy, are you sure you are Yoruba because the names above are far from being Yoruba. Any name that doesn't sound igbo does not automatically mean Yoruba and vice versa. I've never seen or heard of Yorubas that bear the name Abubabakar or AL- whatever.
number 1 alade aminu is a muslim-yoruba name and thats his younger brother. Its not New news that There's almost no such thing as an Hausa name. Most if not ALL of their names are muslim/arabic NOT of african origin. The same goes with many Yorubas esp from Ogun Kwara, Oyo and Lagos . Thats like saying bode george isnt a yoruba guy, because his last name is english.

Yorubas with the Alade and aminu names:
adebanji alade
Muyideen Alade Aromire
Dare Art Alade
Aminu Olaribigbe
DR.AMINU KAZEEM OLAWALE
Olajide Aminu
Aminu Adediran
Chief Aminu Akinbode
Alhaji Ismael Aminu - omo ibadan http://www.iduusainc.org/
Muslim yorubas: Alhaji Ladi Hassan from Ilorin West Local Government Council; Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Adebayo Dele, from Oyun Local Government Council.
Alhaji  Abubakar Kannike
LANRE AMINU, National Coordinator, Oodua Youth for Good- opc member
Now that im finished proving you guys WRONG again- Whats different in this case its not anything new that MANY yorubas do not bear yoruba names? When Mr. George went to jail everyone was screaming Yoruba man right, so what different in this case?

I wouldnt put a yoruba person there if they're not yoruba. If an igbo claims someone is igbo even if their surname doesnt sound igbo. I wouldnt doubt them, BECAUSE I DONT KNOW IGBO CULTURE TO MAKE CERTAIN ASSUMPTIONS. No biggie educating folks on yorubas is not hard work, even yorubas themselves.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Community Alleges Marginalisation In Enugu by sjeezy8: 4:12am On Nov 06, 2009
If so much land is owned by igbos every where then what is all this complaining from the East?

If Nigeria was to break up, I seriously doubt these igbos who are investing in all of Nigeria will leave their investments behind and go to biafra. I mean who has the most to lose if Nigeria was to break up? Everyone except SEs invest in their homeland.

So these igbos that you talk of (I've known plenty of them) are definiely not on the same page as you. They know they have the most to lose. Business money and greed knows no tribe. The same igbos you talk about in abuja/lagos are the same ones who align themselves along with the elite(hausa and yorubas) NOT along igbo tribal lines.

Ive have always said there are two types of igbos. I have igbo friends- some of their parents attend biafra igbo kwenu meetings not part of the elite, the Elite ones(most from anambra) live in Abuja,Lagos massively rich and can careless about any biafra or the east in general. Anambra state people lead the pack in marrying and living outside igboland.

but lets stick to the topic.

Back to the topic then

The title of the article is misleading because the fact that they are yoruba has nothing to do with why they are asking for land. The  title should have stated muslims.
They shouldnt be given anything if its not in the government policies. But if it is, you cant blame them for asking for what others did not. The matter is that they are Muslims, it has nothing to do with being yoruba, if they were catholics, Im sure they would have recieved what ever they had asked for.
Even though im christian i wouldnt find myself in the East, too many closed minded people, but its their land so let them continue on. These Muslims should return to their land of origin if it no suit them,

I dont know where these fools got that Lagos in not yorubaland.
If these fools new their history they would know that Eko had no owners and was a place where people traded with small indignes living their UNTIL the yorubas INSTALLED an OBA there.
I wonder why people like to argue about the west WHEN THEY'RE NOT FROM THE WEST.
I know its hard for igbos to understand the concept of conquering and expanding an empire. This could be due to the fact they never conquered or even had a real empire, thats in history. Unlike the yorubas who were known to conquer and install yoruba obas in the land they conquered.
