eze has always been an idiot 600 lives lost in communal lashes are minor . . . . not really, I actually laughed at his lame excuse had it been muslims the whole world would have been saying BS. 600 lives lost is not a small number nor is it minor. |
what heck type of clash is that |
Money |
Domino you are correct but military intelligence can always be gained over time. All southern presidos and miitary people see is strength in numbers. Zik stayed one Nigeria because he was head of eveyone and had the fulanis-hausas under control. Ironsi stayed as one Nigeria because he controlled everyone(until those ibo oficers killed tafa) Awo wanted a country for yoruba people only, but when he saw that he could possibly control hausas-fulanis aswell,he was Mr. One Nigeria. This was even before Oil^^^^ Ojukwu lol- Mr. One Nigeria even ran for presidency because he thought he could gain control of the army aswell. if he really believed in biafra (back then) then that thought would have never crossed his mind. He wants biafra but ran for president of Nigeria and accepts govt checks lolObj samething- he even went as far as to let sharia law be in north, he was thinking like a yorubaman in the SW " I dont go to the north so they can have any law they want, just make sure the numbers in the army are there to be a world power" |
aloy is dumb you think i make different ids llike you. |
Pllllease the only One Nigeria that is there is for military strength in being a world power which just as important Oil. Northeners are very useful military wise even Jonathan knows that, Obj also, Zik, Ironsi, Awo realized, even king of Biafra Ojukwu knows that (as he ran for presido) etc - all of them know that. |
Youbas folks arent in denal- they just dont give a f about the rest of Nigeria. I can careless One Nigeria or 4, most yorubas arent leaving the SW. |
Im not even reading what nikkus wrote because to your average yoruba person Hausas and ibo are the same NON YORUBA PEOPLE. Im from the SW and have no plans of living in the north or east- so i dont givee a shiot what they do, just dont bring tht shiot to yorubaland. Hausas-fulanis already know the deal they cant have ethnic clashes in the SW and they cant have religous clashes in the SW. peace out |
Nigeria: September 2000 riots between the Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba; current relations between the two ethnic groups in Lagos Information on riots in Lagos between the Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba ethnic groups, in September 2000, could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. However, several sources report of violent clashes between the Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba, in October 2000, which resulted in over 100 deaths and the displacement of 20,000 mainly Hausa-Fulani (Global IDP Oct. 2000; ARB 23 Nov. 2000, 14155; HRW Feb. 2003, 16; ICRC Dec. 2000; BBC 18 Oct. 2000). Reports of clashes between the Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba in Lagos during 2003 could not be found among the sources consulted. However, for detailed accounts of ethnic violence between the Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba in Lagos during July and November 1999, October 2000 and February 2002, including interviews with community leaders and witnesses to the fighting and an overview of relations between the two groups, please consult the February 2003 Human Rights Watch report entitled "The O'odua People's Congress: Fighting Violence with Violence." The report states that one of the effects of the inter-ethnic violence is that "many Hausa – –fled the southwest and moved back to the north; some have not returned since" (HRW Feb. 2003, 11). |
OPC Men Murder Fulanis in Iwoye Although Thursday July 18th has come and gone, the Hausa-Fulani community in Iwoye, a border town between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin near Imeko in Ogun state will not forget that day in a hurry as seven members of the community lost their lives in a bizarre manner in the hands of overzealous Iwoye youths suspected to be members of the dreaded Yoruba ethnic militia, O'odua People's Congress (OPC). The seven Fulanis slaughtered after an apparently premeditated attack on their community during a spurious Oro deity festival include Anchi Umaru, Mohammed Jobe, Manman Bende and Garuba Sule. |
and aloy needs to read again no yoruba was killed in ekiti It was an edo and Tiv. The people of the SW tend to look the other way when it doesnt involve yorubas being killed, but this time they should do something stern. Aloy is a fool - im sorry fulani hate igbos and ss folks not my fault. ok Us yorubas mainly stay in th SW and the fulani in the SW arent killing us. - because theyknow the deal in the SW. lol |
This is nothing because there has been numerous accounts in the SW where fulanis have been killed by SW people and it swept under the carpet by indignes of SW states. These people want to hunt down all fulanis and start slaughtering them, and the fulani in the SW have not done anything wrong as of yet. The only thing of concern is their cattle on farms. Fulani cant do anything in the SW like the middle belt because there is no indignes of the SW aside from yorubas. There is no question about what city fulanis discovered like the unsure middle belters. |
this article is wrong and im tired of reading fake Nigerian news because those who advised jonthan on gasau include IBB and Obj. lies |
hahah I cant help but laugh @ plat shes wack and dumb @post like I said everyone I know abroad and in Nigeria(from all tribes) complain about small things nothing about breaking up or having a war. lol I only here BS from losers who if you give a million dollars to, they will be screaming One Nigeria to the high heavens. |
Nigeria is fine aside from bad leaders |
^ those may very well be the two leadng candidates in 2011. |
^^^^ yea and african american slaves came to america willingly . . . not really. They were forced to be in america as everyone was forced to be in Nigeria. added and at the time Zik was in power he chose to stay as one. |
He could but I doubt he will run He might be under the radar but he is well respected in the North, middle belt and south well among the elite. |
hahah lmfao IBB can win in Nigeria- i keep saying that. When I heard people wanted IBB to comeback I was like HELLL NO- but he is one of the VERY few people that can preside over naija firmly. If he says true federalism in nigeria- no notherner will oppose him If he says no sharia that it undermines the constitution- no northerner will oppose him. He has the respect of the military He definately has the power to change Nigeria if he wanted to. |
theres something real fake about mo cheddah |
^ lol says who? The north can win an election fair and square anytime.- thats just the truth. they have more states |
hahahah lmfao this is the funniest thread with the most hilarious comments. ![]() |
^^ Why not? If America supports IBB 80% of Nigerians would forget his past. and if there are two northerners as candidates- people would probably vote IBB as they did Obasanjo-when both candidates were from the SW. So IBB will probably be president. |
I dont think its anything of jealousy because im here in America and most of the BS said by Nigerians abroad are complete bullshiot and just far from reality. Like Nigeria splitting peacefully- Fairy tale Americans have Nigerian Interest at heart- blood BS Americans have nothing to do with corruption in Nigeria- lol i have to laugh at that one. because US sure loves Obasanjo and IBB |
US State Department denies preparing troops to intervene in Nigeria Mar 20, 2010 (BBC Monitoring via COMTEX) -- The US State Department has flatly denied a newspaper report that alleged President Barrack Obama is preparing American troops for a "special intervention" in Nigeria. In a statement issued by the State Department, it said "we have done nothing to suggest that our concerns are only based on our desire to retain it as a source of dependable oil production." Making reference to the said publication, the State Department press officer of African Affairs, Russel Brooks, added: "The Nigerian Compass newspaper says it bases its story on comments by the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) chief, General William Ward. "The compass says Mr Obama would send troops to Nigeria if the country broke up and widespread chaos threatened oil production." But Brooks described the story "In a word, flabbergasted. This story is a complete fabrication. "There are no US troops being prepared to intervene in Nigeria. We have checked with AFRICOM and General Ward has made no such statement," he said. Brooks said had the Compass reporter checked his facts, "he would have learned that, in fact, there are no troops assigned to AFRICOM for them to put on alert." The press officer said the "fabrication, is made up from speculation about concerns that the US may have about the situation in Nigeria." On the record The United States has publicly addressed its concerns about Nigeria’s political situation and the recent violence in and around Jos. “Yes, the U.S. does have legitimate concerns about the political situation there. And we have expressed those on the record. And we are doing what we can to encourage Nigeria to remain on a democratic path, to retain its constitutional values. And we have done nothing to suggest that our concerns are only based on our desire to retain it as a source of dependable oil production or that we are only concerned about the potential for terrorism coming from Nigeria,” he says. Russell says the United States is concerned that the creation of AFRICOM will be misinterpreted as an attempt to “bring the war on terrorism to the African continent, so the U.S. could more easily intervene into conflicts.” Instead, he says, AFRICOM aims to “increase the capacity of African militaries to conduct legitimate external and internal defense, for instance, to combat terrorism, to protect…borders, to respond in a case of humanitarian disasters.” The U.S. has not contacted Acting President Goodluck Jonathan about the Nigerian Compass report. “At this stage, I would not believe that is necessary. We have frequent contact with Nigerian government…. If they were to believe there was any basis, I’m sure they would contact the appropriate individuals and ascertain the truth of the matter,” he says. Brooks says he wants to reassure average Nigerians, who don’t have ready access to U.S. officials. http://www1.voanews.com/english/news/africa/decapua-nigeria-us-19mar10-88600407.html topic- https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-416547.0.html |
