Simply saying absence of evidence is evidence of absence is silly and yes failure to disprove something can constitute its evidence for existence which itself is a logical fallacy same way a lack of evidence is said to be an evidence of absence. Both are logical fallacies which preclude other options such as the option that states that something can be unknowable and simply because it is unknowable does not make it non existent.

This brings me to the famous philosophical position which says " When a tree falls in the forest when there is nobody there does it make a noise"?.

I am sure if you give this thought you would see the many variables involved and not your usual one sided close minded atheistic positions.

When has an atheist ever said that? The correct answer to the main question is simply 'I don't know'. No one can say for sure what lead to the beginning of the universe. The problem is when Christians like yourself assume that it's a god and more specifically Yahweh which is an argument from ignorance- we don't know X, therefore Y. We don't know how the Great Wall of china was built, therefore, it was built by aliens. In this case, we don't know how the universe began, therefore It's God. By so doing, you are neglecting so many other factors.

This is a very flawed way of reasoning but it's a shame you guys don't see it.
