Best time to get inspiration is when you’re broke. Finally got into an online hustle Ive been looking for. What’s with nigerians and hoarding info? Done with AltSchool Exams, currently on a week break.

Dropped out of HNG at level 3 although my premium subscription will allow me get to level 4/5.

The last task was about deployment design and architecture. Already lost interest and just looked on, the time to complete the task was insane, Used that time to make some dollars on the side. Will copy the projects down and complete it at my own time.

Guess what they dropped at level 4 , Containerizing, deploying and automating a micro service app. Easy to figure out if you’ve done it before. Think I wrote a post about that.

They definitely know what they’re doing.

As for Alt-Africa. Next 2 weeks is the first semester exams. Did a lot of practical html Css assignments ranging from simple to a full landing page and deployed on vercel. Time to focus on Java script

This HNG internship is tough! 10k+ joined, less than 3000 scaled Level 0.

I checked the designers project and no amateur would have scaled that. It’s a lot of work and you need to have been exposed or designed something similar to find a template like that.

For the Devops part, Stage 0 was about deploying nginx over an aws ec2 with a custom message.

2 was about creating an API that returns random numbers with fun facts, deploying it over a public accessible endpoint and adding a well detailed github readme. I wan craze, no be backend duty be that.

Used flask and python to develop it, troubleshooting the damn code was the major part.

Still on My AltAfrica Cloud engineering course, Going through html, css and recently JavaScript. No problems. Only new thing I learnt was how to deploy to netlify and vercel, some new tricks in vscode ; didn’t know I could upload directly to my github repo from VScode. Github CLI can go to blazes lol, Think I prefer git bash though. Also like the warp terminal but it’s not available on windows for now.

Also preparing for AWS solutions architect certification. Got info from an insider that things haven’t really changed, most won’t even look at your application if you don’t have the cert upon all your workings . Lol

And seems Google Cloud Certs aren't really worth it in Nigeria, so better aim for that AWS. I like the hoodie they sent me though.

Locked in and keeping my fingers crossed for now. I have a clear laid out path in front of me. Just have to be patient.

DevOps is not a beginner role. Just like SRE. Start from something like Linux , System Admin, Cloud Engineer, Database Admin etc. Then work your way up.
