Pls note that CIC has specified that as from March 2016, all PR holder leaving or entering Canada must show their PR card. If you need to leave before your PR card is ready you can apply for a temporary permit to leave.

Bro Twaj , i think you can mislead people with your comments..
Can you tell us where it states that from March 2016, you will need your PR card to exit Canada ? For reentry yes, but for Exit ??
I dont see any such info:

Hi twaj,

Can you help us to show where you get the info saying that CIC had specified as from Mar 2016, all PR holder can apply for temporary permit to leave before receiving PR card?

Is it from here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/travel-document/ ?? Permanent resident travel document?

I think the temporary permit to leave is needed when you want to enter Canada again but still you havent received the PR card.

Thanks!

Dear Bros and Sis, I used to follow the thread but since things started to take its toll with my life and work, I havent got updated ever since.

I would like to share with you about my time line.

NOC Code......: CIVIL ENGINEER
App. Filed.......: 21-11-2014
Doc's Request.: N/A
Nomination.....: 13-02-2015
AOR Received.: 17-03-2015
Med's Request: 11-12-2015

I have important situations that seek your helps or inputs.

After landing in Canada for 1st time, can I leave Canada without bringing my calid a PR card?
I heard the PR card will take few months to get mailed at a Canada address.

There are few important issues i will need to take care at least until Sep 2017. Meanwhile I already set my Medex (medical exam) on 30 Dec 2015 so it means that theoretically my entry visa shall be given and valid til 30 Dec 2016 (a year from the Medex performed).

Then by the time the PR card arrives at the Canadian mailing address, my friend is able to mail it to my residence address overseas then i will be able to get it.

Q1: Can i enter Canada again? Will my action raise any yellow flag or suspicious from immigration authority?
Q2: When we leave Canada, will we be questioned by a Canadian immigration officer at the Canadian airport? What will happen when they start to ask "Show me your PR card before leaving Canada"? Will this jeopardize my status?

Thanks

Pls I need urgent help from solomon wise and damkollinsnd anyone that can pls help me. My application was received (2145 - petroleum engineering ) . But it was posted back and it had a letter that the money order was stale more than 6months, the whole document was ticked ok and the calculation of fee was even done on the left hand coner, the IELTS where verified and the ECA too as copy of the verification was printed out cos it came with the returned document, UCI was given as 92473640, and ticked ok and every other things where actually ticked ok, they wrote R10WMQ, NO rep,MI12-NOC, PA550, SP 550,they shaded the date on the date on money order. The money orde was purchased from canada and prior to using it I made enquiries and was told that money orders don't expire on like bank draft . And on their site it was stated that payment instrument from issued outside canada has 6mnths expiry date! So y say my money order is stale is it possible that the officer that treated it made a mistake? But my main question is that I was told by my relative in canada who works with CIC that am suppose to resend it with a proper new draft or card payment. Pls I need your kind help damkollins, solomon sis and all. Very many tnx

Bro Biadroit can you please attach the letter that said that the cap of 25,000 was already reached by 29 Dec 2014?
My friend's application has not yet been responded since 23 Dec 2014.

Hello Skidmarkz.
Whats your Visa processing office?
I got the PER in January 2015, after submiting in October 2014 but haven't received an AOR from Accra - my Visa processing office; although I'm not sure Accra sends an AOR.
Anyway, I'm realistically looking at July or August for the Medicals

Hi bro, mine is @ Singapore Visa Office (one of the slowest in the world according to the people here)

Thx a lot DoubleBam,

Regarding the POF, can you send just a statement that simply mention you have this amount of money xxxx, under this bank xxxx and on the date xxxx? Or you must also send the POF that has list of debit and credit transaction?

Thx

DoubleBam2X:

Hi skidmarkz, the AVO requested for the following docs:

1) Updated POF
2) Proof of involvement in family business and right to profit from same (this came because I claimed in my initial application that I was involved in running a family business)
3) Police certificates for me and spouse
4) Forms like IMM5669, IMM0008 etc
5) Payment of Right of Residence for me and spouse
6) Payment of Permanent Residence Fee for my new born
7) 4 passport photographs of my new born

Hi guys I do have quick questions regarding an employment statement (certificate) and criminal background history.

1. When I submitted my hardcopy paperworks to CIC, i only attached the photocopy of the employment statements or certificates (company letterhead, name, job desk, job title etc). When the local visa office asks for an interview, do you think they will ask me to bring the original employment statements?

2. I used to be in the US (2002-2009), Indonesia (2009-2012) & Singapore (2012-Present). Will the local office ask for the police background check based on the country i am currently living in now (Spore) or they will ask for all the countries i have been in?

Thanks and i hope you can reply my posting. It is very important to me. I am currently on the waiting stage after AOR.

If I understand you well...you want to know the validity of the issued visa before entry into Canada.
The permanent resident Visa (PRV) is normally valid for one year from the date an applicant successfully carried his/her medical test out......or if by chance,if your passport document is not valid up to year and you submitted it to your local visa office like that, the permanent resident visa(PRV) on such passport will expire on the date the passport document expires....because it is less than one year.
Otherwise...its one year.
Please be informed also that Accra normally require that the passport been submitted have a minimum of 6 months validity to be considered for stamping.
Cheers.

Thanks Damkollins
Sorry if i asked a redundant question. i was using an old blackberry which its display screen is so small. Therefore i must have skipped your response.

@Skidmarkz
I haven't been issued the visa yet. I first have to do medicals but I do believe that the PR visa lasts for 5 years and it is renewable

Hi bro Sevule, I understand about the validity of 5 years once you land in Canada.

My question is that once the Canadian embassy in your country issues you with an initial visa (arrival visa), how long do you need to come to Canada before you become a PR there? Please let us know later once it has been issued.

Thx

Hello Guys

Just wanted to update the House. I received my invitation for Medicals today and instructions on how to pay the Payment of Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF). I was pretty shocked because i was not expecting it to be ready this quickly. My FSWP timeline is as follows:

1. Oct 15, 2014 Submitted my FSWP application
2. Jan 19, 2015 Received my PER
3. Mar 3, 2015 Invitation for Medicals and payment of Permanent Residence Fee

Bro Sevule, if you have been issued with the special visa from the Canadian embassy, when will the visa expiry?

Thx

1. POF amount is a function of family size. You may check CIC website for yours.
2.from the trend VO usually requests for 3months statement of account showing your POF. So that will be 3months from MR/or POF request date
3.Email

Many thanks bro

Facilitate kee... Keep your fingers crossed and knees bent as you wait for MR(Medical Request). There is no specific date as to when this will come so redirect your attention to something else and most importantly your POF should in case AVO requests for it.

1. How much is the mininum fund i need to show?
2. How latest is the POF we need to show?
3. Will the correspondance from the local visa office to me be done in postal mail or e-mail?

As a lawyer, you will do well in Ontario as that's the hub of business in Canada. British Columbia especially Vancouver, will not be a bad idea if you are into commercial law. In general, you should be looking at Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Montreal in Quebec (if you can speak French),Saskatoon, Regina, etc are some of the best places for lawyers and you know what? Lawyers are some of the people earning big bucks now in Canada.

Bro Solomon, while staying in Canada for total of 730 days in 5 years, during those period, does he/she has to work so he/she can contribute such as: tax to the government of Canada?
