michaelbelgium: Bosco...when i applied to uni of ottawa i also saw second language test as a requirement on my admission file...all i did was to send an email to them telling them that my language of instruction from primary to undergraduate level was english and the nigeria's official language is english...they had to remove it...note: it took me several mails for them to respond and remove it. canada tags lecturers with a Phd as professors unlike what we have in nigeria. get a vibrant lecturer from your department possibly with a phd to do that for you. they are given ten days to fill and submit it. make sure you send your CV, SOP and student copy transcript by email to them Asap....i guess the deadline is very close please is uni of ottawa app for fall 2017 still on. please what's the tuition fees for masters programmes? |

Good day all, my hubby's app for fall 2017 was refused at both uni of sask n uni of manitoba. sask was because of his ielts score. we added university of manitoba to the list of school ielts shud send results to. I'm convinced that's why he was refused there too. we are left with just uni of Regina. Pls is uni of winnipeg app for fall 2017 n winter 2018 still opened. seems thompson rivers university does not have a masters program in computer sci.pls house are there any other affordable schools still opened. is UNBC app opened for winter 2018. do I need to get a supervisor first? thnks |

boldinc: Use this link to calculate your score: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
In some cases, your score might be high a enough for an ITA without you spouse's ECA nor IELTS. The best way to find out is to use the link to calculate your score either way and then share your scores here and we can advise. The most recent cut off is 447 and could most likely reduce further.
With regards to ECA, it's advisable to start right now, as it may take while to get sorted. You don't lose anything by starting right now. pls can I pm you? |

mrsirdam: Oh i see. Your aunt's best bet would be through the CANADA EXPRESS ENTRY under the Federal skilled workers sub category. She would need to create a profile, include all supporting documents to prove that she has X amount years working in a bank as a (for exmaple branch manager; please note that she has to check the most updated list of eligible occupations under the Federal Skill Workers Sub category to ensure her occupation is on it).
She would also include info on her family, age, education and work experience and she would need ro have some money which i believe is 12,000 for her as the principal applicant and 2,000 per dependent.
She would also be looking and writing an english exam; preferably IELTS (general), and she should attain the highest possible scores per aspect (speaking, writing, reading and listening). Also she would need to get a document that translates her educational qualification from Nigerian to Canadian. This can be gotten from WES (World Education Services) located in Toronto because is is a required document.
The other route for your aunt woyld be to get a Provincial Nomination which is quite tricky to get unless she has a relative who lives in the Atlantic provinces of Newfoundland, New Brunswick or Nova Scotia, the western provinces of Saskatchewan or Manitoba. These provinces have this family spinsorship where a canadian Citizen or permanent resident can show that thwy have relevant ties to those provinces and they are will to be suppotive of New immigrants. If that works out (which is a high probability), the would get a Provincial Nomination certificate which is an almost 100% guarantee of getting her PR.
Please know that i am just giving you general info about this things while i am multitasking so i would recommend that your aunty reads up on the intricate details from www.cic.gc.ca
You can email me for more info please sir can I pm you as regards this. thank you. |

edwinbiz: Everyone should consider applying to University of Regina, they accept almost everyone and in a few weeks too. (Review their admission requirements and apply )
University of winnipeg and manitoba are also accepting applications at a massive rate.
As well as thompson rivers university, they even have their adverts everywhere asking students to apply!
Greetings from Regina sk and goodluck. Applied at both regina n manitoba. should I send official transcripts now or wait till I get d conditional letter of admission |

Osemigho: As a lecturer, you must have PhD, except if you assistant lecturer which means PhD in progress. Your case is best with express entry. I am sure you will meet up. Don't waste your money on study and study visa I am currently running a masters program here but not thru with it. thinking of abandoning it and applying for another masters in canada as this my present masters program has some complications. my ielts score is 6.0 n I didn't qualify for u of s. waiting for u of regina and u of manitoba. manitoba is course based and regina is coop.both research and course work. thinking of adding simon fraser uni to it shud I just go with the two schs and forget abt simon fraser or shud I add simon fraser. can I apply for the PR without my masters as I'm not thru with it. Pls what do you think. thanks |

@ Osemigho, thesoj, MichV and other gurus in the house. Pls will an msc course work in computer not raise an alarm to the VO while applying for study visa as a lecturer. won't it be suspicious as they might think he needs to apply for research based instead of course based. thnks |

Travel › Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by skylar2020(f): 12:52pm On Jan 08, 2017 |
Eladua: You should be qualified for them all. But why mot pick an occupation that is both on SOL and CSOL like software engineer, analyst or developer programmer. ok. but my fear is how it tallies with current employment. though software engineering is still part of computer sci. I just feel if I pick any of those occupation, points from employment myt be reduced or would not be considered. |

Okosay: certificate shouldn't be a delay at all, statement in lieu of certificate should answer ur delay. Most people including myself used it and it was sent along side transcript.,, thanks ok sir.thanks |
Travel › Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by skylar2020(f): 12:12pm On Jan 08, 2017 |
Eladua: Firstly, it is ACS that assess computer science degrees not VETASSESS. And, why are you particular about lecturing occupation, there are at least 4 occupations in the SOL list that you can nominate. What you get in with does not determine the kind of job you would do when you get there. @Eladua what do you think about these jobs Software Tester 261314 ACS Software and Applications Programmers nec 261399 ACS Database Administrator ICT Trainer Analyst Programmer 261311 ACS Developer Programmer thanks |
Travel › Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by skylar2020(f): 11:39am On Jan 08, 2017 |
bellong: @Skylar2020,
No state is sponsoring the occupation you chose except South Australia and it is on restriction. Means you must have at least 75points to be sponsored.
With your computer science degree, I believe you can always find an occupation to relate it with to one of the ICT occupations on the list.
Don't waste resources assessing for University tutor. thanks a lot sir. what about university tutor and ICT Trainer. they are both on csol.would that be better sir? |
Travel › Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by skylar2020(f): 11:15pm On Jan 07, 2017 |

Osemigho: When supervisor is needed before applying, you need to get one before applying. Else, chances of rejection is high. My little advise is that you shouldn't apply, if supervisor is needed and you unable to get one, except if application fee is waived like UBC . but don't put your mind in the app sha. Alright thnks |

ObenJoshua: Manitoba has the three options, thesis course work i cant remember the third option and I also know that thesis option attracts more funding, though its competitive.
And for Guelph, I am not quite sure, but I know of a brother of mine in church who left around September for Guelph, apparently He is doing a thesis program, and has been in contact with supervisors since, so he enjoys benefits of one of these assistant programs.. couldn't get a supervisor for manitoba. Shud I apply like that without the supervisor support letter/email or change to a course based |
