Politics › Re: Ndigbo On Nairaland There Is A Valid Suggestion On Ground Now by SlayerForever(op): 7:50am On Sep 09, 2021 |
proeast: I'm happy with the progress so far. However, with time as we progress, we will have to draft a list of all the Igbo clans and communities wherever they are found in Nigeria, be it SE, SS and NC. We would have to conduct a research and also as new members join on Facebook, they would mention their village/clan as well as LGA and state.
Then communal assistance through freewill donations will be to offer assistance to those clans at the fringes of Igboland, by popular vote, after the admin must have listed the clans that could be assisted. The account that would be receiving the donations would be managed by the Catholic/Anglican Church to aid transperancy.
Assistance to communities could be in the form of bore holes, health centre renovations and stocking of basic drugs, donations/grants to needy widows and orphans etc. With time and depending on how donations are coming, we can expand to other areas. Such donations would be done in the presence of the community Eze and the banner clearly written that it is coming from the group because the community is part of the Igbo nation. Any Eze or community that is still suffering from identity crises or doesn't want to belong or be seen as Igbo would not enjoy the benefits.
With time, the national Secretariat would be in Enugu with state Exco members that would be registered in all the states that have Igbo clans in it. It would be the duty of these registered exco members to organize any visitation or supervise any project going on in their domain. They must also be Igbo indigenes of those respective states and they must be passionate about Igbo affairs and be ready to defend Igbo interests at all times.
Otua ka oha m n'onu. Ka anyi bidogodu ebea. Salient points.

BKayy: The issue most of you have with history is that you go for folk tales instead of recorded, archaeological and relationship reports. What you read is just folk tales. It is in the same category as that of Oduduwa falling from the sky, Eri travelling from Israel and so on. It is not history but story. Not for academic purposes. Nowadays, they make out a column for it and classify it as folklore This is what distinguishes some people from the others here on Nairaland. |

Here is an excerpt. Damn |

Vintagepipes: Yes, in the researched book, Brass was treated as separate entity from the Ijos.
In this account, James Spiff, the chief of the Brass people was angry with the Ijos for paying homage and worshiping the Aros for eliminating smallpox. It seems like he has some beef with the Ijo for their servitude to the Aros. I believe the Spiff's beef no be today. CC: Bkayy. History! |

Let me add here that while strolvideo the internet last night I saw a video from Brass, made earlier in the week from that attack. In the video a young man can be seen agitating in the background while putting on our okpu agu.
A little detail I decided to overlook in that video. I'm just mentioning for people who say the youths who attacked the palace are from elsewhere.
Another thing I came across was a picture from Brass in 2018 showing total compliance to the IPOB sit at home order. I just took a mental of that information. I will reinvestigate. later. |

Vintagepipes: It is interesting, I found in this book compiled from 1800s and published in 1906 was one of the most thorough works done on the the people of the Lower Niger.
The Okrikans elders were interviewed in the 1800s and they claim that their ancestors came from Afam in Igbo land. CC; Bkayy, slayerforever, Ariani. Wowwwwww!!!!! Can you see Brass?? ?? ?? |

JANK23H: Oga,no difference between Ijaw and Izon.Stop confusing your self.Ijaw is the white man "adulterated" way of saying Izon. There is no J sound in the Izon language, hence we couldn't have called ourselves Ijaw.
Kalabaris regard themselves as Ijaws, unless the ones with Igbo mothers with an agenda. Kalabari has refuted Ijaw claims. Why are the Brass boys speaking Igbo while attacking the palace of Diete Spiff? |

Crime › Gunmen Launch Attack On Police Checkpoint At Obeti, Ukwuani, Delta State by SlayerForever(op): 7:05pm On Sep 08, 2021 |
From Paul Osuyi, Asaba An early morning attack by unknown gunmen on a police checkpoint has left three officers dead and a patrol vehicle burned in Delta State. The incident occurred at about 7:30 Wednesday morning along the Obeti-Oliogo Road in Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state. The late officers were attached to the Unity Divisional Police headquarters. It could not be ascertained if other officers survived the attack as at press time. Local sources said the burnt Toyota Sienna was donated to the police by a commissioner on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC). According to the sources, the gunmen laid ambush for the officers, adding that after the killing they went ahead to set them ablaze inside the patrol vehicle. ‘Three police officers attached to the Umutu Division Police Headquarters were attacked and killed on arrival at a checkpoint between Obeti and Oliogo in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta. ‘They were burnt beyond recognition in their patrol Toyota Sienna,’ a source said. Acting Public Relations Officer of Delta State Police Command DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the killing, stating: ‘What I can say now is that three policemen were killed and the vehicle burnt. I don’t have other details,’ Edafe stated. The police spokesman said operatives of the Command in conjunction with vigilantes killed a suspected member of an armed robbery in Obogo, Udu Local Government Area of the state. He said the suspect died at the hospital after sustaining injuries during a fierce firefight at the community where the gang was operating before the security team arrived following a distressed call. Edafe said the Command also made a breakthrough in the case involving the murder of a prince in Orhuwhorun, Eric Takerere, and two mobile policemen on escort duty, during an attack that also left Eric’s brother, Franklyn, critically injured. According to him, six people were arrested Tuesday in addition to two other suspects earlier in July in connection with the murder of the royal. He listed the six suspects as 36-year-old Onoriode Shefo, aka Chicago, 30-year-old Omagbeosa Sholla, 30-year-old Godwin Obukoemu, aka Million, 34-year-old Ejime Mugagbam, 24-year-old Ejiroghenen Nushe and 28-year-old Egho Monday. Edafe said the earlier suspects – Godspower Agabarhayowe, aka Ganagana, and Tony Edwin, both 27-years-old – had led operatives of the State Anti-kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad (SAKCCS) to their hideouts in Udu, Warri and Aladja areas where the latest six suspects were nabbed. ‘They all confessed to being involved in the murder of Prince Eric Takerere and his two mobile policemen. ‘They also led the operatives to their armoury where two AK47 rifles, one pump action gun, one locally-made pistol, four magazines, 76 rounds of live ammunition and 38 rounds of live cartridges were recovered,’ Edafe stated. BKayy: I don't think you understand the Man. He is neither here nor there. He never said that Aboh is Igboland. He is still maintaining neutrality, that is Igbo/Bini/Isoko. In other words, Aboh could be considered as a "No man's land" from his submission. But that doesn't mean Ndigbo will dive in when the Indigenes never proclaimed that they are on any of the three party, Infact they are openly against pro-Igbo movement. Go back to the thread from the Aboh dude when he was claiming Igbo. His intention was made clear that is "OK I am now igbo. I have considered to be Igbo after much persuasion and grovelling from Ndigbo, but Aboh must be reinstated as the commercial hub of Igboland over Onitsha then Aboh again shall be considered as the Cradle of Igbo Civilisation with Aboh Obi considered as the kind of Ndigbo" This is exactly what his thread was saying. Go back and read it again. Read in between the lines. The Dude is never Igbo and won't in the near future. Don't let Aboh of all people play the Ikwerre game on Ndigbo over again. Hmm. |
