When Nigeria only had pyramids of groudnut and cocoa for foreign exchange, was it only the farmers or their regions that benefited?

What you should be asking for is diversification not greedy regional control which will make one region lazy and the others hardworking.
Check history and cross check facts and you appreciate the wonders Awolowo did with cocoa proceeds to develop western region.

Why can't the Niger Delta be allowed to self develop it's territory using her resources?

See regionalism as a forced approach to diversification. Regionalism breeds healthy competitiveness and not laziness as currently being witnessed.

It makes no sense. That would further make the rich richer and the poor even poorer.

It is oil that made us lazy not the sharing of resources.
Nigeria is blessed and every region has it's own resources to thrive.I've seen the data. The Niger Delta should be allowed to use their God given resources to better their lives.

The illiterate ruling over you and your family with all the levels of education you acquired. Shame on you.
More like shame on an electoral system that is rigged to always throw up unfits for the job.Are you not ashamed that only a medieval man as buhari was found worthy over 200 million people?

Where is there leadership? D should garner support. Aisha is not a big wig in the present admin as u can she has no office buh even d big wigs cannot do anytin for the ND Avengers as d ve branded themselves militants and re hell bent on sabotaging nation treasures.
Even the development commission Aisha is championing is under threat as long as there's no peace in the Niger Delta. She doesn't need an office to speak up against injustices.

I have lived in the North West and the South South, their leaders aint the same.

Give an average Hausa politician N1billion, the crowd you will see in his house will be unbelievable. He will build houses for his people, bore hole and roads. On daily basis, he will be giving cash assistance to friends, family, villagers and even strangers.

Give the same amount to a Bayelsan politician and he will hire thugs to keep people away from him while he sits on the entire money.

I know it is more expensive to build roads in the south but if the southern leaders are taken to the north, they wont build what the northern leaders are doing for themselves and their people.
The solution to all these is regionalism.Let each region develop at it's pace with it's resources. This current structure as practiced breeds laziness and corruption.

But why should thru choose to bomb thier own community. Let them take the fight to the Lion's den

They are playing to their advantage.Although violence is not to be supported,in this case it is the only language the rogue government understands.

Let the government come to a roundtable or conduct a military operation with precision to fish out the avengers.

Were were the Niger Deltans during elections? The ate their cake and are still looking for it!
You should instead blame a rogue government system that dishes out cake to a select few knowing it won't get to the indigenous people of the creeks.

These demands are fairly reasonable and can be met easily. Federal government should negotiate sharp sharp!

We should be happy they have demands not some that bomb and kill people left and right with no demands!

N0.9 demand is very funny....PDP will love that demand!
Buhari just granted amnesty to boko harem members so must come to the roundtable and negotiate.

If this are truly the demands of this group then they are truly better than boko harm, human and have very negotiable deals. There is no need for military in this business. It calls for wide and deep diplomatic intelligence to be put in place to manage the crisis.
It's as straight forward as that.Buhari must humble his rigid self and come to the roundtable.

How did The Avengers-Warriors of justice miss out El zakzaky name and justice for the massacred Shiites?

The Nigerian state in the strict-sense of it with its Efcc,Dss and military are the real terrorists of the Nigerian people and every patriotic Nigerian that seeks justice and truth MUST align with the Avengers. Although violence shouldn't be a means in demanding for justice but, that's the only language that gets the attention of the rogue government.

The money ends up in the pockets of the socio-political and economic elites. Nothing gets to the indigenous people of the creeks.

You have been shouting creek creek. Did it happen within one year? Gej from the creek...what did he do about it for over 6 years he was in power? The 16bn monthly the person you quoting mentioned that they have been getting and refused to do anything to this creek people, you have intentionally ignored to talk about. These pipeline they keep blowing up, will it not pollute this same creek further?

I am from Delta state myself and i am with Tompolo on this one. No to violence and destruction of national assets.

This agitation by NDA is entirely motivated and supported by hate and tribalism.
This is nothing about hate or tribalism but a clarion call for justice to be done.

I have lived in the creeks of Bayelsa before for 9 months, that was about 15 years ago. I understand the area is not what it should be - it deserves to be way better. I also understand that only a few gets whatever help comes from FG and the oil companies in those areas. Wealth there simply don't circulate.
You are not far from the truth.

What does it mean to toast and dazzle? The implementation of the Ogoni cleanup, the Lagos-Calabar railway plan budgeted for, the road started from Cross Rivers last year, the 2nd Nigeria bridge all in less than a year. Despite the outright and violent rejection of APC in all the elections held same period. Who made life not to be ideal for human habitation? Have you bothered to query your governors? Does Oando not pay for whatever it uses? ****
The Nigerian government in collaboration with the oil companies rendered the creeks a wasteland.

my question is,... What has been happening to the 13% Niger Delta states received monthly? The same people who loot dem dry is the same people they praise sing. Imagine this fools seeing the late Alameseigha as a good man who was killed by the pressure of the FG. Come on, The billions spent on amnesty what do you have to say about dat. Rather than engaging the govt in a rational discus they blowup pipelines and further pollute the already polluted environment. I can tell you categorically that this Avengers were among those who benefitted from the amnesty bonanza. The very mistake we made was by dialoguing with criminals, criminals should be treated as such and nothing more. Go through the FG revenue sharing formula and see d amount these Niger Delta states get as against other states, yet they want more. I wish I'm the president, I will crush them to pieces.
You and I knows the monies ends up in the pockets of same elites. There are three strata. The ordinary people of the creeks, the militants and the social-economic elites.

If the social-economic elites are given 13% derivation to loot and the militants are given amnesty packages without the ordinary people whose lives are ruined as a result of oil exploration it will only take few years before the ordinary people graduate to militants and the cycle continues.

You can't win this war with the militants without the economy grinding to a halt.

All the piecemeal revenues are in the pockets of the social-economic elites. The ordinary indigenous people of the creeks are left with only deaths as a result of oil exploitation.

I'm from the creeks myself. The riverine area of Ondo state, but I want to ask you if Buhari is the cause of their hardship and if he is, why is not being targeted that all Nigerians will have to be punished for it, with darkness. There are oil installations in places like Akwa-Ibom. Why are those not always showing "our oyel". Why always these Ijaw guys?
This issue should not be misconstrued as personal vendetta against Buhari. This is a wakeup call for the government of the day to right the injustices of yesterday. Military occupation and amnesty has failed to tackle this same issue and it would be foolhardy of buhari to try the same thing and expect a different output.

Do you even care to know that most communities in the creeks has no access to drinkable water, electricity and means of livelihood?

Check your history to understand why the ogoni and ijaw are poster child of the struggle.

If only you have an idea of how long these Niger-Delta youths have been complaining. Certain people are just impossible to please. Even if the FG and oil companies give billions to them (certainly through their leaders) monthly, it still won't satisfy them because their leaders hold on to most of it and still leave the others hungry.
That's how deep curruption has gotten. I don't believe oil companies and the FG isn't doing their best to satisfy these people, but is it getting to the needy in these region?
If you visit the creeks and see living conditions, you would pick up arms and fight against such injustice.

Didn't read past this line. You insult and call them empty heads while they cripple the economy. Those boys deserve much more than full resource control.First take the evil out of the people and they would act right.

That's chicken change for jagaban to offset cos his boy ambode just internally generated over 100 billion. Tinubu is just not interested in repaying the loan. Atiku can go to court.
