I only highlighted Hausa language but I meant that any region that is uncomfortable with English as the lingua franca of Nigeria can always seek for secession and make their language the lingua franca of their new country.

The argument that students do more when being taught in their native language is highly flawed in this context. Yorubas , Igbos and the Niger deltans are being taught in English language in our various regions and are doing exceptionally well. Nigerians who have English language as their second language even outperform their counterparts in UK, USA etc who have English as their first Language. So why are the hausas not doing well?

Imagine an ethnically diverse state like Delta towing the part of Lagos by ensuring that house of assembly proceedings be held in our native languages. How will communication be effective when they have at least 4 indigenous languages ?

If we all spoke different languages and didn't have English (it could have been any other language) as our lingua franca, how will there be effective communication on Nairaland seeing that we would each speaking in our different languages?

The north should stop blaming their cataclysmic education on English language because it the same English language being used in teaching students in the south who do exceptionally well.

I don't know why atheists are pained at this news when they won't pay 1% tithe.

My arrow is on Ikwerre and not Asaba and Anioma. I know a good number of Asaba people who are proud to be called Igbo. Also Anioma people. Its not a general thing.
You need to listen to radio stations here in ph and hear the bitterness that flows from Ikwerre people when they phone in to comment on igbo matter. U will know they dont have sense. Meanwhile radio stations in Igbo land don't discuss Ikwerre. Nobody has time to discuss irrelevant people
