san26dy:

I think a pregnant woman should not ride okada. It is not safe for her and the baby.
Many women are ignorant of this and when miscarriage comes, they say it's attack from their village.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Is Your Definition Of Poverty by slimes(m): 2:49am On Jan 02, 2010
Poverty isn't isolated. For one to be poor, he must have the potentials of being rich but fails to attain affluence. Being poor is in relation to either ideology or materialism as a man full of ideas but without cash/assets is not really poor.

Romance / Re: How To Approach,attract And Get Any Woman You Want by slimes(m): 9:47pm On Jan 01, 2010
a. Have confidence in yourself
-Don't see a girl and turn deaf and dumb mumu
-Try to be honest friends with her

b. Commit some trust in her
-It actually, ruins your chances of being friends when
you have no trust in your mate.

Politics / Re: Nigeria Airports To Buy 3-d Full Body Scanners by slimes(m): 8:24pm On Dec 31, 2009
edmann:

Nigeria is one 'great' country.

Disasters have to happen b4 we profer solutions.
So we never needed this scanner had this incidence not happened.
Just as the VP is just summoning a 'meeting' to 'rescue' the retrenchment situation on the Banks after about 4,000 employees have lost their jobs in the Nations most-engaging sector. Yet yesterday we heard another 800 had joined the un-employed from Oceanic Bank.

In Nigeria, the word PROACTIVE exists but only in written form.

Biuldings will collapse b4 we set up a committee to enforce regulation on the standards of buildings;
People will die in accidents b4 we call for special FEC meetings to approve and award contracts for road rehabilitation;
Cholera outbreak will occur and thousands die b4 we will think of providing portable water for our citizens;
Less than 10% of our students will pass entrance exams b4 there is a call of the overhaul of the educational sector;

The list goes on and on,

We need our own Mandela, Ghandi, Nyerere, Nkurumah, or even Obama, for these times.

We're just giving medicines after death.
Family / Re: Is Getting Married In Your Late Twenties, Early Thirties Too Late? by slimes(m): 11:48pm On Dec 30, 2009
Y.M.E:

Friends, then lovers, always works. But be careful not to feel obliged.

Anyway, to the topic of the day. All this maturity nonsense sorry. You guys are giving the idonkia folks here d go ahead to be un-accountable. If you grow up in a well respected home and train yourself plus the one your parents gave you. I don't see why anybody should not be "matured" enough to get married at say 25 for women. It all boils down to how responsible you have been and how you have set your priorities. You can only get off my hook of irresponsibility folks; if you had a natural disaster or was a victim of something that disorientated or had a bad impact on your life. Other than that, Not matured at 25, COW DUNK!!

Not matured yet so what has the parents being teaching him/her all this while, perhaps nothing.

Family / Re: Do you ever think Marriage Is Overrated? by slimes(m): 11:10pm On Dec 30, 2009
sodconfirm:

MARRIAGE DOESN'T WORK AGAIN BECAUSE OF OUR FORGOTTEN TRADITION

1. When going to your husband's house it was a taboo to come back.

2. When you have some misunderstanding in your marriage then (those days) family elders will be invited to settle it no matter the magnitude, I don't think that still happens now( the decision in yours)

3. It's some sort of a shame then to have a child without a father.

4. It was also shameful to be a single mother. No body cares now.

All of the above makes divorce or separation difficult, But now western civilization has taken charge, Quite interesting though but you will have to your village to get a wife "that's if many still have one".

The tradition of our fathers are left to rot into oblivion.
