Taraba state is governed by the constitution. It is clear that there is ambiguity concerning the Governor's health and his fitness to rule. One would think that by now the instance of getting a medical expert to examine the governor by now, would have been settled. In this light, the relevant clauses should be invoked so that a just and amicable decision be taken. #mynigeria. |

Each to his or her own belief. It is better to be faithful then when your time is up, you go to face God and realize there is no Heaven or Hell than to live a carefree life and later regret. 1 Like |

Besides the quantum of problems, issues and social skirmishes like the Boko haram attacks here and there, Nigeria still goes strong with finances though our leaders still act clueless at times. It is no longer news that our leaders are aiming for a vision 2020 that will place Nigeria on the list-20 most developed countries in the year 2020. Could this be that we are truly heading that way? Education / Re: Who Is To Be Blame For Student's Poor Performance? by slimes(m): 6:19pm On Jan 05, 2011 |
For every problem that affects man, it can be traced directly or indirectly to the family. That said, the society is like a conglomerate of different families. Education for instance can only be efficiently delivered to the taught if his immediate family he lives with gives some form of encouragement. Support in forms of paying school fees on time, the parents taking time to guide their children through the everyday learning and also psychological support i.e. helping the child conceive a positive mindset. O levels or UTME or whatever exam has a standard in each of its subjects. It is not in believing that you have done your best and you very well expect to pass. How many Nigerian students take time to actually cover the syllabus. I don't subscribe to just studying because you are told. Find the interest and build on it The teachers that are imposed on us as tutors are also not helping matters. I am not talking of 150,000 naira a term private school. Obviously, not many can afford that. You go to a so called public school and what do you see? The visible neglect of the government. Teachers who are deficient in their qualifications. For goodness sake, how can a college of education graduate who was forced to the school as a last resort deliver when the interest is not there. Education is now seen as a last resort of many ex-NYSC corps members who could not find befitting jobs. The problem of bad grades is bigger than the students who become the victims. See the causes so visible. It is once said that Education is a slow way to make money. The youths of Nigeria may be misguided by believing in the get rich quick syndrome and trying to frolic in entertainment agents like TV, Video and PC games etc. The government should try to increase the budget on education to something meaningful. No developed country abandons its education sector that is one reason, we would never get developed like this. |
