Cybercrime act is encroaching or in similar terrain with a social media bill that the legislature may pass later in the future. It's just a way of testing the waters.

Seun doesn't want social media to be regulated in anyway, form, or manner. That itself could be the end of Nairaland if a social media regulation bill is passed by the legislature, and that bill has a clause that the owner of the social media platform is held accountable for any content posted on it...

Some people would also see these arrests as an attack on freedom of speech.

Here, the Dein of Agbor stopped a man praying to Chukwu, the name of a deity god in Ibo language in their midst, told him to use Osanobua, the name of God in their language.

The Dein made this move because he knows that “Chukwu” or “Chukwu Abiama” is a pagan deity in Ibo land, just like Ibini Ukpabi in Ibibio and Amadioha in Etche. It had shrines where they did libation and other pagan practices.

Most ibos don’t know this today because they focus on editing and rewriting Ikwerre people’s history on Wikipedia instead of researching their history and knowing who they truly are.

He was making mockery of the man and how the man was crying online for his life.

This is the man who worked against Peter Obi in the east last elections. He claimed Peter obi is a sponsor of ipob and called the man all sorts of names.

So now he has been arrested? Kai this man cup don full oh. I always warn people don't come online or Nairaland to just type anything thinking you can get away with it.
There is always a day of reckoning. Now this man is on his own. Who will help him?

Is that not the same way Obidients defame Tinubu, the justices of the supreme court, justices of the appeal court, law enforcement, politicians e.t.c ?

Did Nnamdi Kanu not call Peter Obi an homosexual as well?

The good thing about this arrest is that Nigerians can now start approaching the police for cyberstalking and defamation over social media posts. This would help curtail the activities of those uncouth headless mob cult. Some of them have started deleting their tweets e.g Serah Ibrahim below.
