NAFDAC Seizes ₦1.2 Billion Worth of Fake Malaria Drugs in Lagos Raid
NAFDAC has intercepted 277 cartons of counterfeit and unregistered Malamal Forte malaria drugs, valued at over ₦1.2 billion, in a warehouse located in the Ilasa-Oshodi area of Lagos State.
The fake drugs, which were concealed in cartons labelled as Diclofenac Potassium 50mg, were illegally imported from Shanxi Tianyuan Pharmaceuticals Group in China. They were falsely declared as spare parts in the shipping container.
NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment, with the full support of the Presidency and Federal Ministry of Health, to eliminating counterfeit and substandard medicines from Nigeria. This seizure is part of NAFDAC’s sustained nationwide operation to protect public health and ensure only safe, quality medicines are available to Nigerians. https://x.com/NafdacAgency/status/1966454744823599368

Politics › Reno Omokri Educates A Follower On Why Nigeria Remains Indissolube by Slytiger(op): 5:45am On Sep 12, 2025 |
Dear Amaka,
Thank you for your feedback. You have two people to blame for Nigeria's indissolubility.
Chief Obafemi Awolowo mooted the idea of a secession clause in 1954 during the Lagos Constitutional Conference, but Nnamdi Azikiwe rejected it, galvanising a majority of the conference attendees to kill the idea.
After this was rejected, Chief Awolowo again wrote to the then Governor General of Nigeria, who rejected the clause because the majority, led by Nnamdi Azikiwe, did not support it.
A year before Awolowo tried to get a secession clause into the Constitution, Nnamdi Azikiwe had threatened Northern Nigeria with war if they tried to secede from Nigeria at a speech he gave on Monday, May 12, 1953. Please find below a quote from that speech:
"It may lead to economic nationalism in the Eastern Region, which can pursue a policy of blockade of the North, by refusing it access to the sea, over and under the River Niger, except upon payment of tolls."
Because of Nnamdi Azikiwe, section 86 was inserted into our constitution with the proviso that if any region should secede, it would be an act of treason.
Just a year before Biafra tried to break away from Nigeria on Tuesday, May 30, 1967, Isaac Boro tried secession by declaring the Niger Delta Republic on February 23, 1966.
Please fact-check me: Colonel Ojukwu first sent troops to quash Boro's rebellion. When he could not overwhelm Boro's Niger Delta Volunteer Force, he requested for federal troops, and Major General Aguiyi-Ironsi granted his request and sent soldiers to Ijaw land on February 27, 1966, following which Boro was captured and sentenced.
The then Head of State, Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, quashed what he called the Isaac Boro mutiny using primarily troops of Eastern Nigeria origin.
So if Ojukwu and Ironsi did that to the Ijaws, how then would you want the Gowon administration and future governments to let Eastern/Southeast Nigeria secede?
That set the precedent for indissolubility under the military.
Therefore, Amaka, if you are looking for anyone to blame, please turn your attention to Azikiwe and Ironsi.
Thanks again, and may God bless you.

Politics › Re: Why Are Tinubu Supporters Afraid Of Protests? by Slytiger: 5:33am On Sep 12, 2025 |
No. You can protest, but if you decide to loot and burn like Nnamdi Kanu advised some of his I.P.O.B members to do during end sars, then it only make sense for you to keep that protest in your state of origin.
The world is still horrified at what happened in Nepal. Nigeria's endsars burning/looting and kano looting is still fresh on people's minds.
So again, if you have evil intention, please stay in your state of origin and protest. I read on twitter that some boys are already planning a protest in Abia and Enugu which is a good start.

Crime › Update On Arrest Of Self-Acclaimed "Obi Of Lagos" - LSPC by Slytiger(op): 3:15am On Sep 12, 2025 |
UPDATE ON ARREST OF SELF-ACCLAIMED “OBI OF LAGOS” ALONG WITH THREE OTHER SUSPECTS Preliminary Investigation Update on Self-Acclaimed “Obi of Lagos” and His Fraudulent Activities
The Lagos State Police Command wishes to inform the public of updates on the ongoing investigation into the criminal activities of the principal suspect, Engr. Chibuike Azubike ‘m’, aged 65 years, who recently acclaimed himself as the “Obi of Lagos” and announced plans for the “…unveiling of the prototype of a ₦1.5 BILLION PALACE of Obi of Lagos State…” at Apple Hall, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, a ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 13th September 2025.
2. Investigation so far revealed that the principal suspect, Engr. Chibuike Azubike, later confessed to the Police that he is not a qualified engineer but merely a supplier of construction materials to construction companies, which formed the basis upon which he has been parading himself as an engineer.
3. Further findings revealed that the planned unveiling of the “Obi of Lagos Palace” was fraudulently designed as a ploy to swindle unsuspecting personalities and other Nigerians of their hard-earned money under the guise of the “…unveiling of the prototype of a ₦1.5 BILLION PALACE of Obi of Lagos State.” 4. It was also established that the principal suspect acted alone, without the backing or recognition of any legitimate chieftaincy authority. Members of the public are therefore enjoined to disregard his claims and other misleading publications on social media aimed at causing disaffection among the peace-loving people of Lagos. Meanwhile, investigation is ongoing, and all suspects involved will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of the investigation. 5. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, strongly enjoins the people of Lagos to remain vigilant and not to fall prey to fraudsters of the likes of Chibuike Azubike and his gang. He further reassures the good people of Lagos State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace, security, and public order while protecting citizens against all forms of criminal deception.

Politics › Re: APC ( Fearing The Monster They Created ) by Slytiger: 6:11pm On Sep 11, 2025 |
OredoPikin: The APC supporters hypocrisy is staggering. They're the same individuals who introduced hatred and divisiveness into Nigeria's politics. They pioneered the mob mentality that they now fear.
Let's recall 2014, when they threatened civil war and vowed to form a parallel government if the 2015 election didn't go their way. They sponsored countless protests and strikes against the then-government, making the 2014/2015 election campaign all about personal attacks on GEJ and his family.
GEJ's decision to concede was a deliberate attempt to avoid the bloodshed that followed the 2011 election, where hundreds of innocent young Nigerians were brutally murdered.
Ironically, the APC is now in power, and they expect everyone to praise the government despite being tens of times worse than the GEJ administration they forced out. They've mastered the art of tribal division, fueling Nigerians to fight each other along ethnic lines while they loot the country dry.
They pay few individuals to champion this act of division, using them as puppets to spread hate and fuel ethnic tensions. These paid agents, often masquerading as influencers or thought leaders, are instrumental in amplifying the APC's divisive agenda. By doing so, they create a false narrative that pits Nigerians against each other, distracting from the real issues of governance and accountability.
They sponsor all kinds of lies and propaganda to manipulate public opinion and maintain their grip on power. From fabricated news stories to hired social media trolls, they'll stop at nothing to silence dissenting voices and maintain their control over the narrative.
The APC fears the very mob mentality they created. They fear the consequences of their own actions. Today, when you advocate for protest or holding the government accountable, they label you unpatriotic. Yet, they were the ones who wanted to burn Nigeria to the ground just a decade ago.
Their hypocrisy is appalling. That was Peter Obi in 2011 2013 and 2015.

Foreign Affairs › Hilton Kathmandu, The Tallest Hotel In Nepal Burnt To Ashes During Protest by Slytiger(op): 2:43pm On Sep 11, 2025 |
Buildings were set ablaze and politicians furiously attacked this week as Nepal citizens brought down their government. Military choppers evacuated several lawmakers as the protesters set fire to their homes and chased them down the streets. They also torched the Supreme Court and set several official buildings including the Presidential residence ablaze. Visuals that have since gone viral showed the Kathmandu Hilton hotel turned into a charred husk and vandals looting the house of a Nepali businessman.
Hilton Hotel in Kathmandu torched The tallest hotel in Kathmandu turned to ash on Tuesday — merely a year after opening its doors. Dramatic visuals shared online showed flames pouring of the windows as protesters raged across the city. It remains unclear whether guests were caught up in the carnage with some later posting videos seeking help. Some on social media claimed that they had seen visuals of toursts trying to escape the building.
“The fact that protesters targeted a hotel where tourists were staying shows how the situation spiraled beyond any legitimate protest!” fumed one X user.
“Bhatbhateni burned, Businesses burned, Factories burned. Major national institutions burned. And people are cheering that. No one will dare to invest in Nepal anymore,” a Reddit post lamented.
“This is so sad. I watched some Instagram stories of tourists escaping the building. This was completely unnecessary,” added a third.
Some on social media have offered an explanation — contending that the building had stood for corruption and “elite capture” in the minds of many Nepalis. It had been mired in controversy before its repeatedly delayed opening and even faced raids for suspected irregularities and other backroom deals. The benefits of ‘foreign investment’ had allegedly flown to a handful of politically connected families — coming back to the core of the ongoing uprising.
Similar incidents of hotel-burning were also reported from other Nepali cities — with one Indian tourist requesting Embassy support via social media.
“I request the Indian embassy to please help us. All those who can help us, please help. I am stranded here in Pokhara, Nepal. I had come here to host a volleyball league, and currently, the hotel where I was staying has been burned down. All my luggage, all my belongings, were in my room, and the entire hotel was set on fire. I was in the spa, and people were running behind me with very large sticks, and I barely managed to escape with my life,” the woman — identified as Upasana Gill — can be heard saying.
House of Nepali businessman ransacked Multiple houses linked to Nepali politicians and business leaders have also been ransacked and destroyed by the protesters over the past two days. Videos of protesters targeting Nepali businessman Upendra Mahato have, however, gone viral for all the wrong reasons — as it appears to have been a case of mistaken identity. The official is currently in Russia and serves as the president of the Russia-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Local media reports later suggested that the protesters had mistaken his house for the residence of Janata Samajbadi Party Upendra Yadav. https://www.financialexpress.com/trending/symbol-of-luxury-linked-nepo-babies-hilton-in-kathmandu-burnt-down-video/3973470/Nlfpmod

Softmirror: The concept of Idum is not different to Sabo. It is used to refer to settlement of migrants. Idu is actually a Yoruba word too. It means settlement, station e.t.c As such, ‘Ìdú-[ì]gànràn’ means ‘the pepper* settlement’. And there are other places with the same prefix within Yorubaland like: Idu-Jimoti in Oyo state, Idu-Soko in Osun state, among others. ìgànràn=pepper. The current location of the Oba of Lagos was built on a pepper farm belonging to an Awori man called Aromire. Hence its called Ìdú-[ì]gànràn. Whereas in the benin dictionary, idu means dove

Odi Oṣòdì This palace officer, in some Yoruba areas, is known as ‘Òdì-oba’. In other Yoruba areas, he is called ‘Ọ̀gbẹ́ni-òdì’. In some, ‘Olósì’. Etc. He’s an aide of the Ọba, but yet he wields some considerable power. As for its literal meaning, the term ‘òdì’/‘òsì’. As such, the word-anatomy of the term ‘Oṣòdì’:=“o ṣe òdì”=“o ṣòdì”. He is the “one who serves as the [king’s] alter-ego”. A certain Landuji of Nupe ancestry seems to be an outstanding Oṣòdì at Èkó, and in all Yorubaland. He was Ọba Kosọkọ’s Oshodi & he remained loyal to him till the end. The Bini lexicon from the 1930s also attests to the Yoruba origin of ‘Oshodi’. See screenshot below. It says "of Yoruba Origin".
