Op let me enlighten you a bit.... of all the security details Kumuyi has, u can't find one policeman there, he has his own special security that follow him everywhere.....the ones whipping people with koboko are the ones sent by the governor to pick him from the airport to wherever he was going...you can make your findings better... and why won't that kind of person needs security personnel around..he started moving around with security the day he was robbed at new garage in Lagos Bariga...that was long ago sha.... and I personally had an experience when his convoy was held up in traffic for minutes in Lagos back then when I was in secondary school, you need to see how pedestrians flocked around his car when they found out it was him, even we the students were not left out and all he did was smile, waved and said "you students need to be in school"....not even his details chased us, though they came down to keep us away from the car.... |
was already scared as I was reading until when i checked the date...... but did this actually happened then the northerners are just too gullible... this issue will have been forgotten had it started in the west or south..... |

little by little, they'll all be caught...big ups to the military forces... |

samoks: Nigerians and blame game.......yes he's condemned internationally, but locally, which visible alternative(s) do we have? If the closest as rumours have it is Buhari/Tinubu, then I think we should just continue with GEJ. If APC is really serious about saving Nigeria, then they better come up with credible alternative other than those two names above.as far as I'm concerned with the recent happenings in the country, the man is not fit to govern, has no leadership qualities, a very slow decision taker.....he gets tossed around easily....isn't it glaring that he doesn't even have power over his own house? how can a man govern 160million people if he cant control just ONE WOMAN!!! How many first ladies have you seen coming out and on air talking about governmental and political issues? how many? even state first ladies....we will only be punishing ourselves if we allow that man come back again...I will vote for whoever contest against him even if such is an underage.... but for GEJ?? I rather die than vote for him he is such a disgrace to the menfolk... and has brought our exalted sit into disrepute......very saddening |
If this man win the 2015 election then I will conclude that God is punishing Nigerians cuz I've not seen just ONE REASON why he should be reelected into office, not even for character, integrity or performance..... he is so woeful |
they should start giving out bags of rice too......cuz Nigerians don't think, they want their share of the national cake urgently just like the super eagles |
mizzthang: Awww...Emmm... that's not what I'm saying... what i feel the girl should do is to have a private chat with her brother on why he doesn't want to see her with the guy and hear what response she'll get, then chat up the guy in question telling him to speak up on what's going wrong between the two guys....and all what nots shaaa |
Everyone dreams—every single night—and yet we tend to know so little about our dreams. Where do they come from? What do they mean? Can we control them and should we try to interpret them? We spoke to the dream experts to bring you nine surprising facts about dreams. Read before snoozing. 1. Dreaming can help you learn. If you’re studying for a test or trying to learn a new task, you might consider taking a nap or heading to bed early rather than hovering over a textbook an hour longer. Here’s why: When the brain dreams, it helps you learn and solve problems, say researchers at Harvard Medical School. In a study that appeared in a recent issue of Current Biology , researchers report that dreams are the brain’s way of processing, integrating and understanding new information. To improve the quality of your sleep— and your brain’s ability to learn—avoid noise in the bedroom, such as the TV, which may negatively impact the length and quality of dreams. 2. Just like men, women can have orgasms during dreams. Did you think only men experience this phenomenon? Not true, says Barbara Bartlik, MD, a psychiatrist and sex therapist in New York. Warning, further reading may produce blushing: “Women have orgasms during their sleep, just as men do,” she says. “These orgasms often accompany erotic dreams, but they also may occur during dreams of a nonerotic nature.” When women dream, she says, it’s not uncommon for their genitals to become engorged and lubricated. “This occurs during REM sleep, which happens several times during the night,” she says. A similar thing happens to men. “Men get erections during REM sleep, whether or not the man is having an erotic dream.” 3. The most common dream? Your spouse is cheating. If you’ve ever woken up in a cold sweat after dreaming about your husband’s extramarital escapade with your best friend, you’re not alone, says Lauri Quinn Loewenberg, a dream expert, author and media personality. “The most commonly reported dream is the one where your mate is cheating,” she says. Loewenberg conducted a survey of more than 5,000 people, and found that the infidelity dream is the nightmare that haunts most people—sometimes on a recurring basis. It rarely has anything to do with an actual affair, she explains, but rather the common and universal fear of being wronged or left alone. 4. You can have several—even a dozen—dreams in one night. It’s not just one dream per night, but rather dozens of them, say experts—you just may not remember them all. “We dream every 90 minutes throughout the night, with each cycle of dreaming being longer than the previous,” explains Loewenberg. “The first dream of the night is about 5 minutes long and the last dream you have before awakening can be 45 minutes to an hour long.” It is estimated that most people have more than 100,000 dreams in a lifetime. 5. You can linger in a dream after waking. Have you ever woken up from such a beautiful, perfect dream that you wished you could go back to sleep to soak it all up (you know, the dream about George Clooney?)? You can! Just lie still—don’t move a muscle—and you can remain in a semi- dreamlike state for a few minutes. “The best way to remember your dreams is to simply stay put when you wake up,” says Loewenberg. “Remain in the position you woke up in, because that is the position you were dreaming in. When you move your body, you disconnect yourself from the dream you were just in seconds ago.” 6. Even bizarre dreams can be interpreted. While it can be hard to believe that an oddball dream about your mother, a circus and a snowstorm can have any bearing on real life, there may be symbolism and potential meaning to be mined in every dream—you just have to look for it, says Harvard-trained psychotherapist Jeffrey Sumber. “The meaning of our dreams oftentimes relates to things we are needing to understand about ourselves and the world around us,” he says. Instead of shrugging off strange dreams, think about how they make you feel. “We tend to dismiss these dreams due to the strange components, yet it is the feeling we have in these dreams that matters most,” he explains. “Sometimes the circus and the snowstorm are just fillers that allow us to process the range of emotions we feel about our mother and give us the necessary distraction so we can actually experience that spectrum of emotion.” 7. Recurring dreams may be your mind’s way of telling you something. Do you have the same nightmare over and over again? Loewenberg suggests looking for underlying messages in recurring dreams so that you can rid yourself of them. For example, a common recurring nightmare people have involves losing or cracking their teeth. For this dream, she recommends that people think about what your teeth and your mouth represent. “To the dreaming mind, your teeth, as well as any part of your mouth, are symbolic of your words,” she says. “Paying attention to your teeth dreams helps you to monitor and improve the way you communicate.” 8. You can control your dreams. The premise of the new movie Inception is that people can take the reins of their dreams and make them what they want them to be. But it may not just be a Hollywood fantasy. According to the results of a new survey of 3,000 people, dream control, or “lucid dreaming” may be a real thing. In fact, 64.9 percent of participants reported being aware they were dreaming within a dream, and 34 percent said they can sometimes control what happens in their dreams. Taking charge of the content of your dreams isn’t a skill everyone has, but it can be developed, says Kelly Bulkeley , PhD, a dream researcher and visiting scholar at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkley, California. The technique is particularly useful for people who suffer from recurring nightmares, he says. Dr. Bulkeley suggests giving yourself a pep talk of sorts before you go to sleep by saying: “If I have that dream again, I’m going to try to remember that’s it’s only a dream, and be aware of that.” When you learn to be aware that you are dreaming —within a dream—you not only have the power to steer yourself away from the monster and into the arms of Brad Pitt, for instance, but you train your mind to avoid nightmares in the first place. “Lucid dreaming enhances your ability to learn from the dream state,” says Dr. Bulkeley. 9. You don’t have to be asleep to dream. Turns out, you can dream at your desk at work, in the car, even at your kid’s soccer game. Wakeful dreaming—not to be confused with daydreaming—is real and somewhat easy to do, says Dr. Bulkeley; it just involves tapping into your active imagination. The first step is to think about a recent dream you had (preferably a good one!). “Find a quiet contemplative place and bring a dream that you remember back into your waking awareness and let it unfold,” he says. “Let the dream re-energize.” Wakeful dreaming can be used as a relaxation tool, but Dr. Bulkeley says it can also help your mind process a puzzling dream. “It creates a more fluid interaction between unconscious parts of the mind and wakeful parts of the mind,” he says. |

I'm a 2013 batch A corp member posted to Kaiama, Kwara state. Will love to share the experiences I had there to you people in here.. There are some aspects I'll keep away till after POP to avoid stories that touch and by the way, the NYSC act does not permit me to speak. Kaiama is a very nice place, the environment (physical) is so conducive, food stuffs are relatively cheap, accommodation is cheap too, all in all, the cost of living is low and the standard of living is not bad if you know your way. In the midst of these, that community has so many negatives which i'll state out here. Firstly, the people of Kaiama are baruba speaking people and are Muslims, rarely will you see a baruba Christian. The sad thing about religion there is that their is so much discrimination against Christians in so much that they wouldn't buy a pure water sachet produced by a christian even if it's the best around. Churches there are situated at the outskirts of the community far away from the indigenes, you will be attacked if you dare try to convert any indigene. I remember the day I tried teaching them about Jesus in one of the classes at my PPA, I was challenged and almost beaten by one huge student, wat saved the day was my being a Corper and I have loyal students around.. that is not to say that there are no persons that tolerate Christianity, of course there are so many people who do, like my principal and some teachers. I want to believe their imams often teach tell them in the Quranic schools that Christians are going to hell. that's all for now about that. Secondly, Kaiama is a land of evil spirits, that place is an headquarter of spirits and those spirits reside in 45% of their girls and also live in the mountains and trees. the girl with the least spirit will have about four. what saddens me about this is that once the spirits start disturbing the girls, their mallams often resort to begging the spirits to leave the girl in question and they prefer to allow the girl to die instead of being delivered by one of the churches. I remember a corper friend that was beaten in his sleep for unknown reasons, I myself often feel a spiritual presence in my room at the lodge till God gave the antidote. pakam Third, Despite the girls and women wearing hijabs, their level of promiscuity is second to none. Their is no girl that can be trusted once she starts growing "balls" in her chest except for some few that have good home training. A man with one wife is known to be poor except if such can his richness physically. Even some that have one wives in their houses have concubines to the extent married women too have concubines. The level of promiscuity there is visible in the life of the animals where about four he-goats will be chasing a she-goat, same goes to the cocks n hen. You'll rarely see a she-goat that is not pregnant except if such is immature, even at that, she will still be chased, the little he-goats too are not left out in the chasing. Fourthly, exam malpractices there is as high as the highest mountain in the world, if you want to pass your WAEC, GCE, NABTEB, JAMB...pls go there. They will ALWAYS write the answers on the board for you, that's why most of them don't value education. iyen naa ti to. Fifth, NYSC can NEVER be scrapped, NEVER. A greater number of their teachers can't speak good English, not even the English teachers and the Literature in English teachers too. Some teachers teach rubbish, absolute JARGONS! It's the few intelligent corpers take it upon themselves to teach the students, especially those that are ready to learn (though there are some corp members that are so embarrassing and disappointing). Sixth, the road from Ilorin to Kaiama is so so bad, especially from Kisi to Kaiama. The road is so bad that you will have to think through before embarking on any journey. I'm finding it hard to pick an adjective or sentence to explain the sorry state of that road, it is that bad. if you wear a white clothing and pass through that road, it will turn brown in less than 2hrs. The day our new state coordinator came on a visit, he vowed never to come to Kaiama again until when the government construct the road, he had to congratulate we the corpers there, in fact, our LGI tag passing through that road "a punishment". hmmm..gotta put my writings on hold here.......I hope it makes front page so I'll write the part two cuz it's my first ever thread, I joined nairaland few days ago though I've been reading updates n comments for about 5yrs. Thanks mod... |
the northerners are just too gullible... this issue will have been forgotten had it started in the west or south.....
