lolzz...sister, marriage committee is not easy doh but I learnt letting them have their way and considering my position....I started off with telling them I can get married to the same girl without them....with that in mind, they softened up....cuz I'm good at standing my ground and the lady too....we've both learnt how to deal with issues and satisfying all parties....and guess, the girl's parents are leaders too (no nonsense people).....TGIF

Mr "real deeper lifer" is it suppose to be about the "progress" you or your parent make in the church or about your personal Christian race to heaven? Sister I understand you perfectly well but until our parents understand that we are in a new age what we the kids have to do is to live that life of sacrifice till we stay on our own...I've walked that path and I'm living fine all by myself now and still attending the church...I still watch my darling Real Madrid and I don't joke with any Nigeria match whatever grade....just finding my way to satisfy all parties....the bible said " obey your parent in the lord for this is right"...we just have to obey them...and all the leaders that meet me are always proud to relate with me and know my mum...in fact all of them call me their son....I'm even toying with the proposal of joining the workforce....

we are the ones to bring the much needed "adjustment" to that body....God will help us...

lolzz..I'm a happy man and my kids will so enjoy me as my fiancee is doing too....that our parents do things wrong doesn't mean I'll do same...that's why they sent us to school and we are more versed than them...we are in a new age but don't have to do away with the old time religion.. just a few modification here and there and we are fine...

I'm a deeper lifer too...and my mum has been a choir up till now and added to that, she is a woman coordinator....she was kinda direct in bringing us up (4 of us)....and guess wat, I came out d better for it...

See these people telling you to rebel don't know what they are saying cuz d Bible said, a child left to himself will be a disgrace to his father...its a fact your parents cannot allow you do things your own way, but you know adults now, they'll want their decision to be your actions...

and another thing is, if you are a real deeper lifer, you'll understand that we the children of leaders don't have a life of our own because the progress of our parents in the church is tied to how well we the kids are living the "proper" life we are meant to live...and as you know, it will be a disgrace if your parents are suspended from being a worker just because of your own "wayward" attitude...I can understand them but its not the perfect way for them to curb your excesses.......

Guess what, from the four of us, I chose to follow my mum's hard teaching....and with all humility, I'm better off than my siblings... I'm working now with a six figure salary, my own apartment, and I'm getting married in the church, presently sorting things out with the marriage committee....


You see, I found a way round that while not loosing focus...I do "things right"....what made me follow her was not because I want to but because of the discipline she got several times cuz of my siblings...and I don't want to toe that line..never ever...I sacrificed my comfort and Life for my mum's hapiness...

it was tough but I'm fine now....in fact people are wondering how I'm managing to cope in deeper life...but I'm doing great....

Mr op, u don't have to complain. I served in Kaiama local govt, kwara state which is about 6hrs journey from Ilorin compared to about 4hrs journey from Lagos to Ilorin and the state govt didn't pay us a dime!

Service year is meant to serve your fatherland, we people often expect that we get something in return for our service to others.. the federal allowee is the most important, all others are secondary, they are not a must. the govt can choose to cancel wateva remuneration they had planned to give corps members.

when you know you need money, why didn't u organization private classes and home teachings the way we did then in the villages. parents were eager to bring their kids cuz they wanted them to be like us too. stop depending on the govt for survival.
