"what group were you in school?"...I answered. "volleyball, handball team of my faculty and the football team of my department"..... he asked again..."how did u cope with cult activities in school?"...I answered...."I have three stops...sports complex, chapel n PGD where I read and two mains..my hostel n lecture classes... the third question was..."describe the road to your hostel from the gate...I took a paper n pen n drew the paths... he asked again...."what's the colour of trade fair's gate?"...I described d length n colour.... the last question was..."any difference between profit maximization n wealth maximization?"....I replied "short n long run"..... the most shocking was when I was told to be interviewed for a higher level in the bank, that was after I passed d interview, was invited for their training and came out as d overall best... I met with three new set of people and they grilled me like a fresh fish....they gave me task I will never forget in my life...I was given a diary that represents a corpse n was told to market it....I managed to talk for 4mins and hanged...I just laughed and said.."I don't know what else to say"...... you know what? iwonbaoko: Every time I read the bible I struggle with two versesI think I'll go with Prov 25:28, 26:12,16 cuz u obviously lack 22:6 but I'll 21:23 since 20:3 and I'm 24:5...... |
aitanofi: omo imota ayayo, AIT says 'Hi'I sight u bro..... |
hmmm.....may God help us...I pray a positive change will come in 2015 |
iwonbaoko: In your eyes you are smarter than everyone else. You understand English more than Queen Elizabeth?Did he ever mention subsidy on tuition? or you are finding it hard to digest the info supplied there.... What d governor is saying is that the fee reduction has reduced the income accrued to the government which is needed to execute the projects in the school, therefore, he wants to move funds from other sectors into the project....get that straight... And by the way your so-called "subsidy on tuition" of which there has never been a subsidy but rather called BURSARY is always planned for before the new accounting period which most times is at the beginning of the year...and forthwith has no business reordering.... As per smartness I'm sure I am but as for you, I really don't think so..... shalom |
Is it that most nairalanders don't understand simple English or they lack basic education? The man is RE-ORDERING the budget and not ASKING for another money.....he is just telling them to accept his plan of moving excess funding or so from a particular unit to the health n education sector to meet the current challenges his government is facing in those sectors.... QED To now think someone called this a recurrent expense is surprising...he can't even differentiate between a capital n recurrent expenditure.....SMH4U |
oh! my darling ikorodu oga, a soko bi eni seke .... omo imota ayayo........ the truth is this, for them not to have bury him, the traditional rites still stand.. I remembered when my dad's elder brother died..(he was an aro in my village in imota, ikorodu) we spent weeks to bury him...but first, the Muslim clerics came around to perform their rites cus he was an Alhaji....then the oloros and others took over....it was tough and hectic....I and my family only went for the final burial cus of our Christian belief.... Adieu my lovely Ayangburen....... |
Kanwulia: Kimon GERRRRRRRRRRRRROUT! ![]() are you touched...get your facts right babe (dats if u are cus na only leg I dey see) |
Kanwulia: I don't wanna know.who told u everyone dies after a brief illness ooo.....the last time I checked no Nigerian has been affected by the disease more or less die....who are those spreading false news? and pls I respect u a bunch, I dislike hissing....wen u r not a snake... lolzzz......if not for my job dat is kipin me off d web...I for answer u wella...buh I'll b checking on ur replies and giving immediate responses.. |
Kanwulia: Between EBOLAND and JONATHAN. . . . I AM STAYING THE HELL AWAY!!!!Are u a Nigerian?? and who told Ebola is all round the country? You need a bit of education |
by Sam Nda Isaiah Many people who are scared stiff of the deadly direction the country is moving, including very influential friends of Nigeria in western nations, always talk about waiting till 2015 to solve the problem. The idea is that, in 2015, Nigerians would have to save themselves at the polls. That may well be true, but what will happen to us and our country between now and 2015? The disasters of the past weeks have made answers to that question more urgent than ever before. In the past weeks, we have seen several teenage-girl suicide bombers. And we are now being told that most of them could be the kidnapped Chibok girls who might have been “bewitched” by their captors with funny substances. Last week, a new twist was added: a 10-year-old child was strapped with bombs by the terrorists and prepared for suicide bombing. The president has been totally bereft of any idea to protect the Nigerian people and has left us at the mercy of those who want to kill every one of us. His main preoccupation now is to protect himself and his household. That is why he is not going to Chibok. Every other day, churches are bombed, mosques are bombed, emirs are murdered, ordinary Nigerians are killed, villagers are murdered, schools are bombed and burnt down, malls and markets are bombed; “gunmen” invade northern villages and forcibly snatch away people’s wives and daughters to use as sex slaves and nobody goes looking for them. And, these days, several brides are kidnapped on their wedding days in Borno, Yobe and Zamfara states and are kept as sex slaves. The government has not even shown that it is aware of these horrendous happenings. Today’s Nigeria is certainly not the same one that Jonathan inherited as president. To make matters worse and frighten us even the more, the president just told us that his government did not foresee terrorism coming. This is supposed to be an alibi for the egregious incompetence that has been displayed so far. That is shocking, because there was terrorism elsewhere in the world including parts of Africa long before he became president. This government’s problem is not just a total lack of vision (of not foreseeing anything), it is corruption that has made it impossible for the government to fight terrorism and other crimes. Our president obviously does not know the effect of corruption, especially the extreme type that his government has been associated with, on governments. It is that type of corruption that could conceivably make a nation send 200 guns to 400 soldiers as happened not too long ago in an army unit in the north-east because there was no money to buy enough guns, not to talk of other more sophisticated weapons. It is also that type of corruption that would make a country like Nigeria not have enough bullets to prosecute the war against terrorists, a war which the president himself has declared to be worse than the civil war. And in spite of the outcry, the situation worsens every day. The corruption is now such that the money that the country would make tomorrow gets stolen today. What that means is that the terrorism and mass murder we will experience tomorrow will be worse than that of today. The coming calamity can only be imagined. Even as I write this, the Boko Haram flag is still flying in Damboa and a few other villages in Borno State. These are territories that have been captured and confiscated by Boko Haram from the Jonathan government. President Jonathan has done nothing to reclaim the captured territories. Expectedly, the terrorists have become even more motivated by the president’s incapacity. They have blown up one of the last remaining bridges linking Maiduguri to the rest of the country. It is only a matter of time before they cut off all the roads leading to Maiduguri and declare Borno State a country of their own. Once Borno falls, Yobe State will follow within hours. If Borno and Yobe states fall, the momentum will be on the side of the terrorists, and, by that time, other international terrorist groups which are more organised, especially ISIS that is desperately trying to carve out a country for itself from Syria and Iraq, may just start getting interested in Nigeria. And that would be the catastrophe. Let us just pray that, under President Jonathan, the UN will not have to send a multinational force to liberate Nigeria. A president, any president, who can say with his own mouth that he did not see terrorism coming to his country, in today’s world that is defined by technology and terrorism, certainly has no business being president. So how is Jonathan supposed to foresee the grim picture I have just painted if he has no vision? The question we should all be asking ourselves at this point therefore is, “What will happen to us between now and 2015?” source: www.facebook.com/sola salako |
Op, are you sure FFK wrote this? thought he joined forces with PDP not long ago..... #confused..... |
Its so sad that the president in whose hands our lives and wellbeing is has abandoned us and lusting after power and position.... the security personnel that are not enough to fight terrorism are abundant when it comes to elections... the trick they applied in Ekiti is what they want to use in Osun...all they are doing is steal mandates through the use of a rifle...let's see if they'll be there forever....Karma is just by the door shalom |
inasmuch as I detest the extent the governor went to stop the lawmaker's documentary, I'm seeing it that government is a continuum, the governor can't be perfect and do everything, that's why the incoming administration will need to concentrate on the areas the governor has not or failed to touch...... and the other hand, those accusing BRF of media propaganda should open their eyes and see for themselves..... |
tit: these jweeds are well trained, organized and numerous.u are the real jweed..,....u r so on your own |
saw this on my Facebook wall.....does it mean the Ebola cure is right under our nose ??. |
congrats to her |
hopilo: I will not blame or exonerate Omisore for Bola Ige's death. One thing I know is that we had a president then, can he be question? Is it only the President? how the the judicial system who discharged him? to now think the man in question will now come back to contest an election..... do they think we are fools? |
There was confusion on Saturday night over whether the new moon of Shawwal was sighted in Nigeria to mark the end of the Muslim Ramadan fast. The Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa’ad, who is also the President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, had around midnight on Saturday announced the sighting of the new moon and therefore the end of Ramadan. ”The new month of Shawwal was sighted in different places within Nigeria and therefore tomorrow (Sunday) is the first day of Shawwal equivalent to 27 July 2014,” the Sultan said in an announcement aired on the Nigerian Television Authority [NTA]. But when contacted after the Sultan’s announcement, the Secretary-General of the organisation, Is-haq Oloyede, a professor of Islamic Studies, said he was not aware that the moon had been sighted. “I spoke to the Sultan about four times tonight and he did not tell me that the moon has been sighted,” Mr. Oloyede told PREMIUM TIMES. “In any case, any such claim is ridiculous and unscientific. It cannot be right. “The National Moon-Sighting Committee has not informed us of any credible sighting of the moon. Rather, they said the moon wasn’t sighted. The new moon was only born at 11:45 P.M. tonight (Saturday) and it will take several hours for it to be sighted. “Is our own sky different? Is our own moon manufactured in Nigeria?” Professor Oloyede urged Muslims to continue their fast on Sunday and prepare for Eid-Fitri on Monday in line with the verdict of the National Moon-Sighting Committee, [NMC]. PREMIUM TIMES learnt that the chairman of the NMC, Hafiz Wali, from Kano, had on Saturday night forwarded the report of his committee to the Sultan and Mr. Oloyede, indicating that the moon had not been sighted. “Assalamu Alaikum. As expected, the NMC has not received any credible moonsighting report,” Dr. Wali said in a short message report to the NSCIA leaders. “Our team in Gwandu has reported that the Moon has not been sighted.” Sultan Sa’ad could not be reached as at the time this report was published at 1:56 a.m on Sunday and it is not clear where he got the report that the moon was sighted. Prof. Oloyede had issued a statement on Friday asking Muslims to look out for the new moon on Sunday and dismissing any possibility of sighting the crescent (of Shawwal) on Saturday. Crescent Moon Visibility, Sunday, July 27… Photo Credit: www.moonsighting.com “… Any information on sighting the crescent (of Shawwal) should be conveyed to the National Moonsighting Committee so that the President-General of the NSCIA, His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, may pronounce the end of fasting,” Mr. Oloyede had said. “It is an indisputable fact that the old (Ramadan) moon will set just before sunset in Nigeria on Saturday, 26 th of July 2014. The new astronomic moon would be born few minutes before midnight of that Saturday. “Consequently, the search for Shawwal moon is on Sunday 27th of July 2014. It can be sighted in Nigeria on SUNDAY with optical instruments or with some difficulties with naked eyes. Any claim of sighting a moon that is yet to be born is not only false, mistaken or impossible but also ridiculous.” The sultan is said to have approved that statement. PREMIUM TIMES also consulted popular moonlighting website, www.moonsighting.com, which compiles reports of moonsighting all over the world. In a detailed report Sunday morning, the website said: “Moon is not possible to be seen anywhere in the world” on Saturday, July 26. Controversy in Nigeria over sighting of new moon to mark end of Ramadan “Moon is not expected to be seen in almost the whole world except with difficulty in South America, and with ease in Polynesian Islands, where there are not many Muslims reporting moonsighting. There is small possibility in South Africa but only experienced observers may see it.” It added, “The Astronomical New Moon is on Saturday July 26, 2014 at 22:42 UT. There is no possibility of moonsighting on that day. On July 27, the moon can be seen with difficulty in South America, but can easily be seen in Polynesian Islands. However, there are not many Muslims reporting moonsighting. On July 28, the moon can easily be seen in almost the whole world, except Northern Asia and Europe.” Also, a Nigerian and member of the Moonsighting Committee Worldwide [MCW], Kareem Isa, from the Kado estate mosque area of Abuja, was quoted as reporting not sighting the moon. “It is Ramadan 29 today in Nigeria. It was partly clooudy, and I tried from 19:00 to 19:20 local time,” Mr. Isa was quoted as saying. The same kind of confusion now trailing the end of Ramadan in the country also marked the commencement of the holy month in late June, with miscommunication within the NSCIA itself. The Council later apologised for the situation and promised Muslims in the country that it would work hard to avoid a repeat. “It is in this respect that the NSCIA wishes to remind all Muslims who know, and notify those who do not, that there is an established structure for moon- sighting in Nigeria,” Mr. Oloyede had said in a statement. “Due to its significance and technicalities, the Council has a National Moonsighting Committee under the leadership of an expert. The Committee is equipped with necessary equipment and technological gadgets that are relevant to the discharge of its assignment.” Sultan Sa’ad has now announced the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal without recourse to the committee. |
Thunder fire the mouth of anyone that says that brainless GEJ should not be insulted...doesn't he deserve it with all the stupid things he has been saying and doing ![]() As the president of efcc cds group during my service year, my first point of call when talking to students during anti corruption advocacies was STEALING!!! The Masked one, Lagbaja, has been reported to have turned down an offer from the Iyiola Omisore Campaign Organization to perform at the grand campaign rally and reception for President Goodluck Jonathan coming up in Osogbo next month. Lagbaja was reported to have declined to perform at the rally because, he was convinced that Senator Iyiola a Omisore, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the Osun State election was culpable in the death of his mentor and benefactor, Chief Bola Ige. Real name Bisade Ologunde, Lagbaja was quoted to have said “Though the court of the land discharged and acquainted you in the murder case against the Former Minister of Justice in Nigeria, The Late Cicero of Esa–Oke and Foremost Nationalist; Chief Bola Ige, I have deep rooted innermost conviction that you are culpable in the death of my mentor and benefactor, if you offer me all the allocation of Osun State during your four-year tenure par-adventure you win (which I seriously doubt), I will not perform for Iyiola Omisore Governorship Campaign Rally” Lagbaja it would be recalled last year recorded a song titled ’200million’ mumu where he criticised top members of the PDP. source: www.voiceoflagos.com |
