Hello house, Please if an application was submitted via paper route and you get an email from vfs saying it's ready for pickup, but no update on cic...what does that mean? Is it a denial? |
Heledy:Congratulations. When did you submit? |
Hello Ladylco. Are you a Canadian PR or citizen? If so, did you do the supervisa or regular visit visa for your parents? I am a citizen and would like to apply for my parents to come visit me but they only plan on coming for 3 weeks because of other engagements. I am the only one in Canada, the rest of my siblings, nephews and nieces are all in Nigeria. I prefer to apply for a visit visa for them but I'm worried they may get refused. Now for the supervisa, the insurance for them is costing about $5000 which Is alot especially if they r only coming for 3 weeks. What do you think? |
Hello house, Please does anyone know if it's quicker to apply paper or online? Application would be submitted in Abuja office. Thanks in advance. |
r231, Please do you guys ship from UK to Abuja? I am looking to have some parcels sent to me. Kindly, provide me with the details as well as contact information. Want to know the price and all. Thanks |
Please does anyone know a reliable company that ships from canada (toronto) to Nigeria, preferably clearance inclusive and what the rates are? Its just for sending things like shoes and bags. Thanks. |
dora2007:You do not need to apply for your daughter, so long as she has her vaild US passport. Since you were denied, it will be better to not include your daughter in your travel plans to Canada. In the application forms it will ask you to indicate your daughters nationality (American) and it will also ask who you will be travelling with. Do not tick that you will be travelling with your daughter that way you can show proof of home ties and also show that you just want to visit and go back to nigeria to your family. If you get approved, I also recommend going alone for a visit then next time you can go with your daughter, that way it proves you were honest in your application. |
busychild:my friends sister applied May 30 to visit her sister who is a citizen. But they havent heard anything till date. I am not sure if there are any people left from May applicants on this thread though. |
Hello, Please if I open a skrill account from nigeria using my gtbank naira mastercard. Can i transfer money to another skrill account holder that is in US or Canada. For example, if i want to send 46,000 naira to another skrill account holder, how much would they get in canadian dollars or USD? |
Hello All, Please my sister is in Canada and we do business together. She buys goods from there and sends to me to sell here. I would like to know what the best way to send the money back to her after the goods are sold, without going through the black market exchangers. I am just reading up Scrill but not fully sure if it works. Thanks in advance. |
MineMK:Good day, As jayfierce mentioned in terms of the visit visa it is taking them a long time to process online applications. You just have to be patient, because everyone that submitted online endured long wait times so its not just you. Don't send them another email for now. Continue to follow this page, you will see people updating their files, that way you know whether yours is within the normal processing time. |
ajobi21:Online application took my brother 133 days before getting response. Luckily, it was an approval. Paper applications seem to be taking about 2 months if I'm not mistaken. I really don't think you have a better chance by going online or paper. The IRCC officer will determine based on what you submit, be it paper or online route, and as much as we may all seem to have an idea what is needed to get approval, theres always unique cases of people providing all required documents and still getting denied. If I were you, i would go the paper route and avoid over 4 months of suspense. Good luck with your application. |
jayfierce:Something along the lines of them not believing he planned on coming back, no strong ties to home country. |
jayfierce:I said the US visa, because when he applied a few years ago he got denied. At that time he had employment but didnt have a us visa or any visit to western/developed countries. |
Sorry guys for the late response. I have been busy th3e3 past days. Below are the documents submitted for TRv via online route. -invitation letter -bank statement -valid US and Turkish visa -entry/exit visa for US and Turkey -employment letter with payslips To be honest, i think its just the US visa and visit to the US that did it. I am guessing they felt if i have the opportunity to go to US and remain I would have done so, and therefore wouldn't do the same for canada. |
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE......Just got passport request letter just now. So thankful to God. Application took 133 days today. Wish everyone else the best of luck. |
jayfierce:Lool....with these CIC people, i am sure someone else holds the title. I did not receive any email, i just decided to log onto the portal just in case and thats when i saw updated, but it was an empty update. |
Hi All, Today marks 133 days since submitting the online application. I went to check the portal, it said updated but upon opening, I saw nothing had been updated. Has this happened to anyone before? |
Hi All, Just wanted enquire about processing time for visitor visa to canada. On the website it says 37 days as of July 11, 2016. My friend applied May 9, 2016 through online process and nothing till date. Anyone recently applied through online process that can give input/their status update? |
demosoft:I will be sending the money from my US bank account to her GTB domiciliary account. What do you mean by 0.5 fees? |
Has anyone withdrawn cash (dollars) from their domicialiary account in Nigeria at the branch? I called GTBank and they said you can withdraw up to $2500/day, but upon asking around I was told, they will give it in Naira with N200 exchange rate. Is this true? I want to send to my sister but want to confirm before doing so. |
What Nigerian items would you like to be seen sold across USA/canadian stores (in other stores not just African stores). Mine would most definitely be the original MALTINA not that Goya stuff. |
eddiebruk: there is no GTBank in SA, you can use any ATM to withdraw money from your account if you have a MastercardOk thanks for the response. Will try it tomorrow. |
I have searched the gtbank website for a branch/atm locator but could not find one. Does anyone know where their branches are located in Johannesburg or where i can get the information? |
earthgreeners: Applying to MUN, and UManitobaJust a word of advice, I studied Environmental Science for my masters in the US and I am currently living in Canada (Toronto). I noticed that you are thinking of studying environmental related courses in Canada. My advice to you is to look into schools in and around calgary because of the oil industry there. They are really looking for employees there with background in the environmental field, and they pay very well, better than toronto. So while you are at school, you could be able to get part time work or full time work during your holidays. Upon completion of your studies, I am sure getting a company to sponsor you will most likely not be difficult. |
dnpasion: I'm having the same issues too but my school said they will write me a letter which I will take with me to the interview in case if they ask me. So I don't think that should be a problem but I hope Α̲̅ℓℓ the gurus in here can shield more light to this. ThanksIn response to your question, generally if your school did not ask you for it, then you should not have to provide it to the embassy, BUT these are Americans we are talking about, they want you to go above and beyond to prove that you are fit to go and study in the US. When I took the TOEFL, it was very easy, it was computerized, therefore I got my result immediately. So if you can afford to take it, i really suggest you do so. Try make your application look as perfect as possible. If you cannot take it, then make sure you get the letter from your school so that when your interviewer asks for it you can just say it was not part of their requirements. During the interview, just be calm and try your best to look at the interviewer straight in the eye, they study your body language alot. Do not overdress or under-dress. Best of luck and feel free to ask any questions you have. I have had years of experience dealing with american and canadian visa interviews. |

To all my fellow Nigerians. We have all witnessed one too many bombings by Boko Haram members that has claimed the lives of too many Nigerians. We (the northerners) are in equal pain, disbelief and offer condolensces to the many lives that have been lost. It is very clear that our leaders from all parts of the country do not care what happens, since they are still yet to make any moves to eliminate these Boko Haram members. We do not have weapons like these Boko Haram members therefore unable to fight them, but we do have our voices and our presence. These members have been using religion as their tool to kill and recruit members, which we are NOT in support of. Islam as many have said is not a religion that teaches violence against innocent people. Below is some information of the peaceful protest we plan on having. I will continue to update once dates and venues have been decided upon. For now the protest has been planned by North and Northerners with the intent of sending a message that northern Muslims are against their activities, but we also want to merge with other christian groups from all across Nigeria in order to show ourselves and the world that we are one Nigeria despite our cultural and religious differences. The poverty, lack of education, good healthcare, electricity, clean water and many others is already too much WAHALA that we are all suffering from, now we cannot allow suicide bombing to be added. "PREPARATION FOR PEACE PROTEST! In line with recent bombings that resulted to loss of lives in both citizens & security operatives in the North. Nigerian youths are very much upset about the recent killings of innocent lives which resulted to serious tension that almost divided the youths along religious & regional lines. In view of the above, the youths in the Northern part of have decided to stand up against all odds to call for PEACE & UNITY. While we prepare for the date, we are CALLING ON VOLUNTEERS from all the 19 States in the North who will mobilize & coordinate the youths to please send in their Names, Contact Address, & Number to my (Ibrahim Garba Wala) inbox. The following are the HIGHLIGHTS of the expected PRE PROTEST activities: - A Press Conference ( a letter to BOKO HARAM - THE YOUTHS ARE PLEADING FOR DIALOGUE, PEACE & CEASE FIRE) in the Northern Headquarters at the beginning of the Week - A 2day Fasting & Special Friday (Muslims) & Sunday (Christians) Prayers for Peace & Unity respectively, to take place in all the states. - One Million Youths Peace & Unity Protest will hold in one of the States in the North. But for now, we are appealing to all Nigerian Youths in all social media to dwell more on Peace Promotion in all the time. Pls for inquiry call the peace line - 08036426789, more peace lines will be made available. WATCH OUT FOR DATE, VENUE & TIME!" |
GEJ resign? NEVER!!! that can never happen in nigeria, a president resigning. As for everyone blaming northerners for nigerias bad situation, please remember in the past 11 years, a northerner ruled only 3 out of the 11 years yet look at how bad the country is. in fact nigeria is worse than it was 20yrs ago. so its clear that whether a leader is from the north, south, east or west we get the same bad result, in fact one turns out to be worse than the other. All i know is that i will surely vote wisely next elections, will search and try to get as much information as i can about candidates before casting my vote, i urge we all do the same. i mean Jonathan as governor was ineffective, so if he couldn't handle just 2million people, how does anyone expect him to have the ability to handle approximately 170million people. so far, my vote in 2015 is for fashola or Lamido (if they contest). and if u have better suggestions, please state them and tell me why, i need concrete proof. |
