That's what science described early humans as. If today is 2017, I'd assume it's 2017 AD and Jesus couldn't have died any more than 2017 years ago, max 3000 years even including possible errors in the dates. The bible includes Adam and Eve in the old testernment, Christ and his disciples in the new testernment. Are we saying some folks were around 4.5billion years ago and someone somewhere was alive to document everything within both ages in a book?2017 years ago is entirely far from 4.5billion years you mentioned. Why is science and religion on two separate pages? Things don't add up here. |

I once worked for a firm that was entirely into satellite communications (Echostar). They launched a satellite into space while I was still there, and we all saw the satellite imagery broadcasted from space. It was a huge milestone and they wanted every employee to see the entire process. We all watched the entire process. I saw it with our monitoring equipment, smart devices, and TVs at home on some special channels the employees had access to, but I wasnt in space with the satellite looking at the universe with my bare eyes. It wasnt even my job to monitor satellites, I was just watching everything like everyone else did, but was inquisitive about what the firm had a passion for. I was with the company for about 3 years and left for something else. But they launched other satellites after I left. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Since the bible only mentioned the earth, who then created the other planets? Satan? Certain things just aren't adding up anymore. Do aliens that live in some of these planets have their books they read since their planet weren't mentioned in the religious books we read here on earth? Their existence weren't even mentioned in our religious books. Just trying to learn from those with more knowledge in this area, a problem shared is half-solved. I ponder over this a lot, and believe my brothers and sisters from the motherland can help. Serious responses pls. No point quoting verses without any logical comparison to the earth we all live on. emmanuelpopson:Like I mentioned before, your degree doesn't have to stop you from whatever you like to do, just go for whatever you have a passion for, be sure your decision is tailored. It's no point learning what won't lead to some income - in my opinion. I'd be lieing if I said I have experience with 3d and animations. That's not my area. Applications like 3dmax, Maya and others could probably be what you need to learn, but I'm really not in that line, and other pros in that area can recommend what you really need to get going since that's what you like. However someone I went to college with in Nigeria (Yabatech) is a movie producer/director now and many of his works are around 3D and animations. Though we studied Elect/Elect together, that didn't stop him from what he liked to do. He doesn't know me as smartmugu - he knows me by my real name (lol, I'm not all that smart, neither am I a mugu, I have no idea why I came up with that handle bur that's what I am on NL.), but he's always willing to help people with the right talents grow professionally in that area. He's cool people though. He knows the right applications you need to learn and can show you the ropes. He simply loves grooming the right talents and I remember he once said he came up with the first Sci-fi movie in Nigeria, (Kajola). I think he's doing well in his chosen area and has movies where he featured Desmond Elliot, RMD, Jide Kosoko etc. Heard he even won some awards on some of his movies, but im really not in the movie industry and dont know that area like him. I last saw him 3 years ago when I last visited Nigeria. I regret not investing in one of his movies years ago. I backed out at a point which was a mistake on my part. Just tell him you like his works, tell him your skills and see how it goes. He's a smart dude and knows what he wants in a person, so you need to have something to bring to his table. Like I mentioned earlier, you just can't jump all over the place - you have to chose an area you like because IT is so broad. What you like may be different from what your neighbor likes, yet both of you are IT guys speaking in different languages. For me personally, I started with SAP Security and GRC. Because I knew to learn SAP Security, you need to understand at least one module of SAP. So I learnt SAP Sales and Distribution (SD)and SAP Material Management (MM). If you prefer Oracle, there is a learning path as well. Business intelligence does have its own learning path as well, it's just up to you to know what you like to do. |
Fela40:Yeah, I'm in the US, but I lived in Nigeria for a long time. We used to go to cybercafes a lot back then, and my overnight browsing back then were focused on whatever I liked to learn. Not sure if cybercafes are same as at then, but as long as you can stream videos, you can learn one a day till you have an arsenal of skills. |

kayjee101:It's doesnt matter what your background is. To get into IT only requires basic comprehension skills, which I believe you do. Just be tailored in your approach and not jump from all over the place. If you like programming, focus your efforts around programming trainings and get certified in the languages you like. Same applies to networking, project management, business analysis etc. Just choose an area you like and build your skills around it. For me, I like security and have worked several years around applications Security (Oracle and SAP), Compliance applications (GRC for Oracle and SAP), Business Intelligence (OBIEE, Spargo BI, Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI and Cognos), Network Security (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint) and recently on Cyber Security/ Ethical Hacking. Some folks prefer other (boring to me) areas like project management, analysis etc. So what I like might be different from what you have strengths in. I've seen folks with degrees in architecture, accounting, English, religious studies etc from Nigerian universities/polytechnic delve into IT here in the US, earning certifications as they build their portfolios. So, don't let your college major hold you down. The IT opportunities are indeed too much, but that's if you like that area to begin with. As long as you can think and learn, nothing is stopping you. Based on what I've read so far, I think the area he was talking about is either networking or network security. If that's what you like to do, do this few things.... 1. Go to www.udemy.com and open an account 2. Search for CCNA, CCNP, Cisco ASA, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint courses. Wait! Don't buy them yet. Read the next steps. 3. Some of these courses will cost $200 and above, but let's get them cheap. So let's wait, relax and get them cheap. Go to www.retailmenot.com, and search for 'udemy'. You will find coupons that will only make you pay only $10 to learn each one of the classes, even those that cost over $1000. Just copy the coupon codes from retailmenot.com and go paste it on udemy.com, and you're not paying same amount. 4.You have to learn these stuff in a certain order, else you will end up confused. Your understanding of CCNA will make the rest easy for you to comprehend, so I'd recommend you focusing ur efforts on that initially as that's the basics for the rest. 5. If what you want is Network Engineering, after learning CCNA concepts and possibly getting a certification in it, an additional Certification in CCNP will make you stand out amongst your peers. Some of the courses will expose you to using simulation tools like GNS3 and Cisco Packet Tracer, so you don't have to spend on buying actual devices to learn them. 6. If what you want is Network Security, after learning CCNA concepts, learn Fortinet, Checkpoint and Palo Alto. If you're good with command lines, add Cisco ASA. Then you are good. Don't jump all over the place, stay focused on one technology at a time, else u will get confused jumping from one to the other. 7. Afterwards, draft out your resume stating your skills and watch how you're flooded with calls. Mind you, you're only investing about $70 for all these courses. In the US network security professional make from $110,000 per annum, in other words you'd make more than your initial investment within your first hour on the job. You can make yourself 'badder' by adding Citrix Netscaler to your skillsets and start earning nothing less that $150,000 per annum. Not sure what the rates are in Nigeria, it might be less.But these skills will always remain your personal skills for life anywhere you go in the world. 8. Something happened almost two decades ago that I still can't comprehend till today. It was in my OND days back in Nigeria. Most of us lived off-campus and usually hung out at various bars and spots after classes. On a certain day, me and my friends went to a snooker spot, and were playing pool and drinking. There were three guys there before we got there and one of them was the leader of a cult there on campus. Everybody knew him, he wouldn't tolerate oppression from anyone but at the same time he was jovial and friendly with everyone. So, even jew-men and those that belonged liked him for his personality. To me, he was a cool dude - he never hurt me and I never hurt him either. He knew me very well and actually spent a few nights with me in my room off-campus with his team. He was cool people. I won't say his name, but let's just call him 'K'. Back to what actually happened. It was me, two of my friends, K, two of his friends and the bartender at the spot. In total it was 7 people. The bartender was the only female there and she was doing her thing behind her counter, and the remaining six of us were playing pool and drinking. All of a sudden, the police popped up at the spot and rounded all of us up. Everyone could be seen except K. I was just playing pool with him, where was he? All 5 of us, except the bartender were arrested, K was no where to be found. All the police wanted was just money, we gave them all we had and they let us go before we even got to the station. We hadn't commited any crime really, we were just playing pool and drinking before the police popped up. We were all searched, and none of us arrested had any weapons on him. After we were released, all 5 of us went back to the same spot to ask about what happened to K, the bartender said she was shocked. She said the guy just reappeared from no where after the police took us and walked out majestically. If that's not voodoo, I have no idea what else it is. There was no where to hide in that spot. I still don't have any other explanation for what made someone I was just playing pool with disappear within seconds as soon as police arrived. No he didn't hide anywhere, he didn't go to the bathroom, he didn't run, I was on the same pool table playing with him. So where did he go within seconds? The guy simply disappeared. Days later, I saw K on campus and asked him what happened the last time we were playing pool, in his words "It wasn't you guys the police were looking for, it was me. So I disappeared. I could see you guys but you guys couldnt see me. But I was there through the whole thing". K naturally never talked too much, he just walked away after saying that. Till today, I still can't understand what he meant. How could he disappear and I couldnt? Arent we both humans? Me and him were about same height, did he fold himself into something tiny? He definitely did something weird. I have googled how to disappear several times, but google comes up with nonsense in my searches. What's the scientific explanation to what K did right there in my presence? I've seen stuff like that in Nigerian movies but that was my first time seeing it live and direct. It was weird and still confusing. I simply cant comprehend it. Unfortunately K ended up dieing mysteriously. About 200 students went on tour to the beach in about 2 of the school buses. I was one of them. After having so much fun it was time to return to campus. Everyone could be accounted for except K. His gang members said no one was leaving the beach unless K was found. Everyone searched everywhere until it got dark. So we headed back to campus. His members sent some of theirs to the beach to continue searching for him and about three or four days later his body was seen by the beach with his eyes gone. The only way I can try to comprehend this is that guy did so much jazz. How come he was the only one missing from over 200 students at the same beach with him? He always had his gang members around him for his security at all times. His gang members confirmed he wasn't swimming and had his clothes on. How then did he end up dead in the beach? He obviously drowned, but how can someone drown when they're not swimming nor went close to the water? I can only guess he was trying to do the same disappear trick he did at the snooker spot and ended up in the middle of the beach or something. Everyone else was at the shore of the beach, no one went deep in it. How did he end up there with his clothes on? Another experience was in my HND days when two rival cult groups had a clash. We could all see them shooting at eachother right in front of our hostel. This particular dude was being shot at and the bullets wouldn't penetrate him. He was screaming loud 'try harder, try harder'. Every one could see it from their windows. Since the bullets wouldn't penetrate him, the rival group just rounded him up, laid him flat on the floor and busted his head with a huge piece of rock and left. That was the end of him. Everyone came out of the hostel to see his lifeless body and his brains right in front of the hostel. Why wouldn't bullets penetrate him if that's not jazz? No, he didn't have on any bulletproof vest. If both cases i just went over doesnt mean jazz is real, what in the world were those? It's been almost two decades and I still can't come up with a scientific explanation to what I saw with my eyes. Even google doesn't have the answer to both cases. Unless someone has another explanation, both cases I mentioned seem like jazz is real to me. |
