streetfabulous:Who is paying you for this thrash? What are you even talking about? The president that refused to address his nation before the protest got this big, now ure telling him to address them now after they have massacred innocent protesters? What do you want him to say? It was a mistake? Was he not at one point a protester too? Did he get killed. Put yourself in other people's shoes, if your son or daughter was among those that just got massacred tonight, is your next line of action going to be for them to address the nation? For them to order investigations that will take over 10 years to complete? The president and vice president kids are safe in aso rock,, protected by the same unknown soldiers that killed other people's children in Lekki tonight. If those bullets killed the president and vice presidents kids, do you think they will want to wait for one stupid investigation from a mule they collectively orchestrated to get in office? Do you think the president will wait to address the nation before he bursts into tears over his dead kids? Every human feel pains, if he can't take the pains other parents absorb, then he shouldn't cause them more pain. No life is more equal than the other. What investigation is needed? Everything is on social media. Who doesn't know delay tactics? People were complaining about the random killings by the SARS arm of the police and they sent the army to kill some more. Dont you see its their evil agenda unfolding? They already moved all the Power bases to the north. The rest of the country can now only fight back with stones and clubs, the sophisticated weapons are in their hands already, and your entire family isn't worth more than a cow to them. Wake up, fool! I knew Sanwo-Olu was an asslicker all along. He licked Tinubus ass to get in power, in return, Tinubu licked Buhari's ass to stay relevant and position himself for the next election, and now Sanwo'Olu is busy licking two asses - Buhari and Tinubu's asses must taste good to him for him to stay in power. No wonder his mouth looks somehow. And yall still blame Abode for refusing to lick Tinubu's ass? If he did like Sanwo did, then he had to be professional asslicker. Sanwo's name is ruined in the eyes of Lagosians from what just happened tonight, and nobody will listen to that fool anymore because he's been bought just like his godfather, Tinubu. Pls dont come here with those nonsense grandfathers say. You should be wiser now and even know you might be their next body count. They can't face hard targets like boko-haram, the soft targets they prefer are the peaceful Lagosians that were only expressing their constitutional rights. Is that too difficult for even a fool to know the real agenda? Its history repeating itself again, this time its Tinubu and the pawn, Sanwo putting Lagos in this shape because of their selfish agendas. |
einsteino:If you were the president or a governor, what would you do in this situation? They listed their demand and you agreed to work with them, yet they still chose to shut the cities down for more days and miscreants are taking advantage of the situation to create havoc. What would you have done? Just fold your hands and watch them take over your government? |
Aboki, kwenu! |
RomanianNinja:Abi o. Na buhari remain to carry #endsars placard. |
This is funny. Ignore man leading protest in Abuja. What happened to the Abokis that were threateningthe IG yesterday? |
Simple mathematics EndSARS Protest = Closed Lagos Tollgates = Lost Daily Revenue for Tinubu = No Usual Bullion Vans = Anger = Youths, pls stop it if na play. Who no sabi the scope? |
PhiliptheArab:Please cite the part of my comment that indicated that im pained that the plant is located in the north. You made a comment that it is privately owned, which I didnt know and I asked why FG is interested in a privately owned company. If it is FG owned, I'd expect them to finish the ones they abandoned, but since you explained that it is owned by indians, then a private owner can choose to cite his business anywhere he wants. So, why these divisive comments. You know what, im done with u arguing over nothing. Bye. |
dokie:Lol. Between them and Rivers boys, I no know who craze pass. I been think say na bini boys when dem free prisoners until I saw Rivers Boys protesting naked. Different levels of craze full this naija, I swear. |
PhiliptheArab:So the entire $1.5b came from the Indian company and FG is talking about the Indian's $1.5b investment? What attracted the insult about my governor or local government chairman? Is the minister of finance your state governor or who talked about any governor or local government chairman here? Must any question attract tribal or stereotypic insults from your end? Grow up bro. |
AbijaJ:It really shouldnt even matter what state a person is from, as long as they are Nigerians. Its complete no no. Its like someone from Lagos telling another yoruba person to return to Ogun or Osun state, or someone from Kano telling another person to return to Kaduna. What sense does it even make? Many of these states have intertwined for decades and no one should see another as being different in anyway. |
PhiliptheArab:It is private sector owned and the minister is talking about it? Who owns it? Why isn't she talking about the potentials of Dangote refinery since FG has no stake in it? |
I thought that was the purpose of the abandoned Ajaokuta Steel plant. |
And whom do they talk to in the government when the so-called president doesn't talk to his citizens until a script is written for him? We see real presidents in other countries that are quick to spring to action to calm the populace down by explaining achievable plans to meet the youths' demands. Must he wait for scripts to be written for him to know his country is on fire? He doesn't feel it yet because protests and hoodlums haven't gotten to aso rock yet, is that not where him and his family calm their nerves. Wait forever till you address this national issues and see what the nation becomes. People are tired, many are frustrated, what can be done? Its not #EndSARS, its #EndBadGovernance. Nobody is comfortable with the status quo. The demands are beyond #EndSARS now, more people have woken up now and are calling for #RevolutionNow. |
ednut1:Like they did Festus Keyamo, they bought him with government appointments. |
[quote author=Ronaldinho10 post=95041880]nigeria will be the first then[/quEra. Lol. It doesnt qork that way bro. Every country on earth that ever gained independence is sovereign over itself, no external bodies can control it and the citizens are the ones that drive everything. If US can take over any country, they should have started with North Korea that doesn't do much with the rest of the world. Nigeria is still the most regarded country in Africa based on size and population, unfortunately we have always been ran by weirdos, keeping us behind even tiny nations anywhere else. Bro, pray for your country o, the prayer point is "Nigeria Wake Up!" |
Ronaldinho10:Pls mention one country UN has taken over and ridiculed her sovereignty. Nigeria can't be first. Nigerians clearly saw better and vibrant candidates during the election and voted for parties that offered them more cups of rice than the other, neglecting the brains parties beyond APC and PDP that bribed you with cups of rice brought forward. Now you want the person you voted for to resign and you are begging UN to help you remove him after your collective agreements to sell your votes for N5k and a few cups of rice. UN has no say on this, they can't interfere with how any sovereign nation is ran. It was indeed a huge deal to know Nigerian youths could come together on a common desire - #EndSars. If the youths can come together on a decision to have a political party ran by youths and an agenda that truly makes the youths "leaders of tomorrow", these old men and women currently ruling should be receiving their pensions by now. UN cant do it for Nigeria, its the Nigerian youths that can fight for their freedom and keep these old cargoes where they belong. The current Canadian president isn't as old as many of the Nigerian youths, why then does Nigeria need very old dinosaurs to rule them in a cyber era. |
Chapter1vs6:You can't use the words "hoodlums", "money" and "truth" in same sentence. Hoodlums care more about "money", not "truth". |
Virginnn:You are very harsh for this request. How do u expect buhari to be able to answer questions? Are they discussing about cows? The man must read scripts o. Una see am like that before voting for him, even for second term. Lol |
JEmma1:#EndSWAT bawo? SWAT wey never receive first salary. No let them march come ur house o. ![]() |
lekki1444:Nobody has had any recent encounters, SARS dey hide face right now. |
lekki1444:The last person that said that was a cripple that doesn't go anywhere. SARS usually don't go to meet people in their living rooms. |
smeag0l:I never watched any episode of the show, I only read about bits of it here on NL whenever someone posts it. May be I would have watched if it was aired where I live, but thats not the case. I have never met or even communicated with the random people on the show, so no ties to anyone. One lesson I learnt though is that everybody can make something out of nothing and be rewarded for their efforts. BBNaija just happened to what translated to some people's success story, so, lets jubilate with them. |
smeag0l:Students have to be able to prove they have exceptional qualities to earn scholarships. Every Tom, Dick and Harry cant possibly get scholarships as that is not sustainable for any government. |
smeag0l: smeag0l:#1. Your definition of "frivolities" would have helped. I just hope you understand that everybody in the country dont care about aiming to be the next Awolowo, Azikwe and Tafawa Bello. Scratch that off your mindset pls. After those names,, who else is regarded a legend? History books in schools still regurgitate same names over and over again as if no one has achieved anything after them. We all can't live our lives in one general way because we are innately different. What worked for them back then and made them recognized as early as their late 20''s and early 30's dont apply to this generation. The presidents then even became presidents in their 30s or 40s, far unreachable for today's Nigerian youths. Our generation has to fight with all we have to even get noticed at all. So whoever succeeds first in making his or her name recognized today has achieved something some of us will never get close to until we die. After death, some of us still won't be remembered like Awolowo and the rest. Fela died, made his impacts through music -not as an intellectual and his name remains for our generation to acknowledge. Same with Gani Fawehinmi, Azikwe, Tafawa Bello and the likes. What do they all have in common? They all aimed at what they wanted and they got it and the society recognized them for their efforts. That was back then in their generation, our generation is different now, dont you think we deserve to have people in our generation that will be remembered for something? Thats what every youth should be aiming for, and it doesnt have to be academics or bbnaija, anything that will make anyone standout from the rest. Is Fela recognized as a first class professor? Must we all be first class students to be recognized? #2 That you think he spent weeks doing "nothing" makes no sense. Was he asleep through the entire show? Would anyone in the society have voted for him if he was asleep and did "nothing" through the weeks? Are those that voted for him stupid for voting for him because you and your camp think they all did nothing on the show? Were you expecting them to start lifting blocks and cement like laborers on the show to prove they were doing "something", so people like you dont think they're doing "nothing" . If you owned the show, what exactly would you want them to do to prove to you that they're doing "something"? Become wrestlers or boxers? If he spent weeks doing "nothing", and you spent the same number of weeks doing "something", can you please tell us about what you achieved from doing "something" while he was doing "nothing" within the same weeks? #3 State monies dont have to be spent only on people that have made meaningful contributions to the state or country. Why do states give scholarship to some students? Why do some states send their indegenes overseas to further their studies? To me, its to show them their efforts are acknowledged and to motivate others to do same and expect some rewards. It doesnt have to be bbnaija, it could be anything at all. Whatever me and you do today can translate to something beyond our expectations. If the dude was an undergrad, the state governor could have decided to give him a scholarship worth the same amount. He gave same reward to his a graduate that aimed higher than his expectations and everyone started barking. If you were the governor, you'd only rewards 1st class and 2 class university graduates and expect to be liked by the society? The society is beyond 1st class and 2nd class students bro, you have to be able to mingle with the grassroots to be worth anything to be recognized, and the grassroots doesn't need college degrees at all. You mentioned 1st class students etc, whats their usefulness in the competition? That they want to read all the time only means their types are the ones that recognize them. Do they have a social life? What have they achieved beyond school grades? Does life revolve around school grades? #4. Laycon graduated from Unilag as one of the best in his class, so he's not dumb academically. He prefers entertainment and chose music and the likes, it means he still has a focus in life, same way Fela chose music over what he studied in college. Not everybody wants to be that boring lecturer. That you choose to measure intelligence and achievement via academic prowess makes no sense at all because not everybody gives a damn about academics. Being able to read and write is enough for many to make important decisions life needs. Must everyone have first class from a university to even be recognized? Pls let us know where Dangote got his first class from? I bet u don't know, but you know his name, right? Thats all that matters - make your name known through whatever positive ways explorable. How many presidential candidates did Nigeria have in the last general elections? Almost 100, right? Many of them only ran because they wanted to change their status from "Mr" to "Former presidential aspirant". Huge difference and ot happened like they wanted it to because they made an effort. First class means nothing to nobody if you can't communicate with them in a language they understand. So many first class students without jobs, probably because they lack in certain areas. As stupid as it may sound, interpersonal skills are something we all need but many chose to focus on other skills and leave that behind. A thorough measure of who needs to be recognized should capture both academic knowledge and social knowledge. Laycon grasped both, he's still learning like everyone, but he was able to show his supporters that he's not all about books. What if academic + social skills are what the governor thought of before making him an ambassador? Are the first class students able to prove their social knowledge? How is social knowledge even measured if not from inputs the entirety of a society? Winners in elections win because the voters voted for them, winners in bbnaija won because voters voted for them too. So, no difference in both realms - both of them have some societal values that's worth other people's votes. The dude fought for what he wanted and he deserves some accolades. If you and anyone aim for anything and achieve it, it shouldn't be a problem if your state governor or the president recognizes your effort. While others are asleep, some are working towards their goals. Its life, winners don't strive harder than others bro. |
smeag0l:On the boldened, State monies dont have to be spent only on people that have made meaningful contributions to the state or country. Why do states give scholarship to some students? Why do some states send their indegenes overseas to further their studies? To me, its to show them their efforts are acknowledged and to motivate others to do same and expect some rewards. To my knowledge, Laycon graduated from Unilag as one of the best in his class, so he's not dumb academically. He prefers entertainment and chose music and the likes, it means he still has a focus. Not everybody wants to be that boring lecturer or however people choose to measure intelligence and achievement. First class means nothing to nobody if you can't communicate with them in a language they understand. So many first class students without jobs, probably because they lack in certain areas. As stupid as it may sound, interpersonal skills are something we all need but many chose to focus on other skills and leave that behind. What if academic + social skills are what the governor thought of before making him an ambassador? Are the first class students able to prove their social knowledge? How is social knowledge even measured if not from shows like bbnaija and social reactions to it through votes? The dude fought for what he wanted and he deserves some accolades. |
smeag0l:You may have misunderstood my point. Laycon is a graduate, so the governor's action doesn't translate in anyway to be an indirect message that education isn't important. Laycon had the option of doing what every graduate does - build up resumes looking for jobs here and there and if it doesn't work blame the government and the bad economy. There's not much difference between a musician like wizkid, an actor like Mr Latin etc being made a brand ambassador than Laycon being one. Not sure why the outrage about Laycon's appointment, it could have been anyone else in the showbiz scene instead of him. Or worse still, get a laptop and start scamming like many youths do. But dude believed in himself and vied in a competition with many others and became an overnight celebrity. That should motivate many youths if you ask me, and the opportunity was open to every youth, including those that dont like the show. I never watched any episode of the show, never voted for none of them, I just like the grass to grace stories, I like hearing good news about people that made something out of nothing. Its Laycon's time today, who knows if God wants you to be the next He will surprise by answering all your prayers? So, let's be joyful for with whoever God has blessed and pray He answers our own prayers too. May be I'll understand if u can list your reasons why Laycon shouldn't have been considered, yet illiterates and school dropouts get nominated for brand ambassadorship all the time. Timaya for example doesn't have any college degree and he is a brand ambassador for firms. Are you saying the firms are stupid and made the wrong choice? So only people like Wole Soyinka are worthy of being brand ambassadors? The governor is trying to reach the youths by encouraging one of them, I personally dont think his decision is as terrible as yall paint it. |
Ehiscotch:No mind these scientists. They said we used to be apes until we suddenly became humans, shouldnt we still see apes that suddenly become humans everyday? What changed and stopped today's apes from metamorphosis to humans? How many gorillas have graduated to humans since we were born?Lies everywhere. |
sammysneh:What if. And just what if this dude is falsely accused? Read the story, it really doesn't add up. The incident ended in his apartment, what if its a girl he knows that suddenly twisted her story and converted it to rape? I'm not saying thats what happened, but fear women! |
bolabadmus38:Its the idea behind it that counts. Its encouraging to recognize the efforts of someone that believes in himself and went out there to get what he wants, legally. Other youths may want to look inward, discover their inner values and translate it to rewards. Every dime cant be converted to agriculture like you said, thats why there are other ministries beyond the ministry of agriculture. Believe it or not, the governor's initiatives may translate to positive drives in the youths, especially those on the verge of giving up. We have been reading of many youths in Ogun state arrested for skull mining activities, scams and other crimes, what if this is a message that one can still make it without being involved in such? Laycon hussled his way through all ordeals and gained something out of his sole efforts and his drive to make something out of nothing but his originality. Even a billionaire's son couldn't get close to him around how he was accepted, implying even the broke ones still have fans that believe in them and they rays of hope regardless of their current situation.. No crime, no rituals, yet he was purely liked by many, regardless of all odds - which is enough to drive other youths to aim high and believe in themselves. It doesnt have to be bbnaija, everyone has a talent that can be harnessed but only need to discover themselves. Some are blessed with talents around sports, entertainment, arts etc but just dont know it. Seeing one person getting rewarded often drive others to discover themselves, which I think every society needs. Its a message that everyone can achieve something in life, regardless of their backgrounds. |
Righteousness89:If only you know they have been saying its almost time for thousands of years, way before anyone in your family was born. |
naxee9294:Im back bro. Sup. |
Realadey:If he has it, they will never reveal it. It's dangerous for the nation. No president in the world has revealed that they have it, if they do, their stock market will be greatly affected as investors panic will be triggered. Imagine Canadian PM saying he doent have it but his wife has it. Yimu. |

well i have nEvEr been harrasd by sars yet infact i dont evn think i have seen any SARS officer in my life. TRUE STORY
