Greatihex: he is beta than u.as a student in IMSU, i embarked on a small scale business where i was selling frozen foods, i built a small container store worth thousands, bought two deep freezers and a generator that will power them, you must know their prices i guess. Now the good news is that i travelled home because of the strike caused by Ohakim and his co-horts, only to receive a call one faithful morning from my neighbours that Barr Willie and group is on our street demolishing " illegal" structures and before i get to Owerri from my base in Onitsha, my shop and everything in it is gone and nothing was saved courtsey of Ohakim and his 'Clean and Green Initiative'. I have moved on though and doing well, making clean money. SO HE MAY BE OLDER THAN ME, RICHER THAN ME, BUT HE IS FAR FROM BETTER THAN ME. He couldn't stop my destiny with his politics instead he stopped his political destiny. |

maxwello.yg:if u MUST choose one, which would you? |
Lets just say that you are to tolerate, manage, between mouth odour and body odour in your partner, fiance, fiancee or spouse, which one can you live with? You must choose between the two and then give your reasons. As for me, in the absence of no other options, i think i ll go for mouth odour because some body odour are very chronic and can reduce your life span..... I can live without kissing her if that is the case and then open a toothpaste mall for her ![]() |

chei: Are you guys stupìd or what? She said she's not involved you fools! It is Amaechi that started this mess by sacking local government chairmen without due process. You fools should learn to read."The fundamental cause of trouble in the world is that the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt." |
franchizy: This news is fabricated and does emanate from the First Lady. Pls speak evil of no manm I still insist dat neither GEJ or PEJ ve hands in the Rivers crisis rather they are consulting wit Elders of the state and stakeholders to restore peace in the state.you are of all men, the most miserable. |
The First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has asked Governor Rotimi Amaechi to fly the olive branch, and resist being used by outsiders against his own people. Speaking at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, when she received members of the Niger Delta Bishops Forum/South South Christian Association of Nigeria, Mrs. Jonathan reiterated the need for the warring factions in Rivers politics to employ dialogue as a means of resolving the contending issues amicably. She urged those “who are crying more than the bereaved to stop magnifying the misunderstanding,” according to a statement sent to the media by her aides. Mrs. Jonathan said “Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Mr. Nyesom Wike remain her sons, brothers and kinsmen, and would do anything to protect both of them” The First Lady again called on various interests in the Rivers State crisis to sheath their swords, and find ways to restore peace to the state, so that the current generation can leave a legacy for generations to come. She expressed her commitment to ensuring that peace returns to Rivers State soon, stating that as the President of African First Ladies Peace Mission; her desire is to have peace in her home base. The leader of the anti-Amaechi lawmakers, Evans Bipi, had stated that he was challenging the governor because of the former’s disrespect for Mr. Jonathan. He described Mrs. Jonathan as his Jesus Christ after the violence in the Rivers House of Assembly following attempts by Mr. Bipi and four lawmakers to impeach the speaker. Quoting biblical references, Mr. Jonathan said she has committed the situation in Rivers State to prayers, “because I believe there is nothing prayer cannot do” and “when God says yes, nobody can say no”. The First Lady, who charged the Bishops to pray that God should return peace to Rivers State, expressed faith that the present generation of leaders will leave a legacy of peace for generations yet unborn. The Bishops, led by Archbishop God-Do-Well, said that they were not influenced or bribed to pay the visit, but got inspiration from God to take practical steps to restore peace in Nigeria, especially Rivers State. Mr. God Do-Well stated that their presence was in fulfilment of the church’s responsibility to shape a culture of peace and justice. Prayers were offered for peace in Nigeria, Rivers State, and for the well being of the first family. |
and u guys forgot that Patience Jonathan invented the rarest form of gbagaun english in history |
Ten people drowned and 20 remained unaccounted for after a boat carrying West African clandestine migrants sank off the coast of Gabon, the police said on Friday. The boat had left Nigeria and was within 15 minutes of arriving in Gabon’s capital, Libreville, when it went down late on Tuesday night. Gabonese authorities rescued 23 survivors and the search continued into Friday. “Last night, we had six bodies and since this morning we have found four more, which makes a total of 10 recovered bodies. The immigrants drowned,” said a member of the nautical brigade of Gabon’s national police, who asked not to be named. Police said the survivors – from Benin, Nigeria and Burkina Faso – claimed to have each paid the boat’s crew up to 500,000 CFA francs N160,000) to take them to Gabon where they hoped to find work. Local newspapers reported that the human traffickers attempted to extort more money from the immigrants and began throwing those who could not pay overboard. Gabonese authorities said they were investigating the cause of the accident. Oil-rich Gabon’s relatively high wages for manual labourers have made the tiny central African nation a popular destination for regional migrants. However, entrance requirements are strict, pushing many to enter the country illegally, often using the dangerous sea route from Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria. At least 45 people died when a wooden boat carrying 166 migrants bound for Gabon capsized off Nigeria in March. Some 35 people taking the same route died after their boat sank off Cameroon in 2008. |
An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday struck out an application for the withdrawal of a N710, 000 fraud charge against a Choir Director of the Christ Embassy Church, Lagos. The police had on May 15 arraigned the director, Sunday Eboh, who allegedly defrauded another member of the church, David Egaifa, under false pretences of helping him to purchase a Toyota bus. Chief Magistrate Omolade Awope struck out the application when Egaifa exhibited ignorance of implications of the withdrawal. The complainant, who had earlier agreed with the accused to withdraw the suit, told court on Friday that he was not properly enlightened on the implications of withdrawing the case. Mr. Egaife made this known after the prosecutor, Corporal Adekemi Adeniran, told him that he would not be able to bring back the case once withdrawn. “Madam, it is during this section that I learnt I can’t come back for the same case after withdrawal, but I was told that l can re- arrest Eboh if he refuses to pay my money. “My Lord, l don’t want withdrawal again. I withdraw my application,” Mr. Egaifa said. The choir director, who lives at No. 11, Church St., Ketu, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of false pretence and stealing. He had pleaded not guilty on arraignment, and was granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The prosecutor said that he committed the offences in February, 2012 at 12:30 p.m., at the Christ Embassy Church, Ketu, Lagos. “The accused told the complainant that his relatives are living in United Kingdom and that they frequently sent cars home for sale. “The complainant was not totally convinced, so he asked the accused to deposit his B.Sc certificate and his NYSC discharge certificate, to be turned to him when he brings the bus. After collecting the money, the accused ran away until last week when he turned up to demand for the certificates,” Ms. Adeniran said. She said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 285 prescribes three years imprisonment for stealing while Section 312 provides for 15 years imprisonment for obtaining by false pretences. |

The Aids Healthcare Foundation, a Los Angeles-based global organisation that provides medicine and advocacy in 28 countries on Monday declared its commitment towards reducing HIV transmission in Nigeria. In a statement signed by the Advocacy Manager, AHF, Oluwakemi Gbadamosi, the organization, in line with its preventive advocacy measures, has set up various strategies to bring down barriers in accessing the use of condom as noted as core evidence based HIV prevention strategy. Lamenting on the spiked hike in the increase of new HIV infections in Nigeria with 300,000 new infections recorded in 2012, Mr. Gbadamosi indicated that the organization is making efforts with education and awareness on the use of condoms for safer sex. “The AHF initiative sees condom dispensers and baskets being strategically positioned in hotels, brothels, and relaxation joints. This effort also comes with condom education and awareness as a conscious attempt to emphasize the importance of safe sex and in an attempt to bring condom closer to the people, especially those who cannot afford or access it conveniently,” Mr. Gbadamosi said. He further noted that in Benue State which has the highest HIV prevalence, 50 outlets have been opened with over 25,000 condoms dispensed in 26 outlets in various locations in the country. Appreciating the hotel managements and individuals at various outlets for their support in the fight against HIV/AIDS, Mr. Gbadamosi said the organization assures Nigeria of its continuous commitment and support as successes based on this model have been recorded in countries such as Zimbabwe, Brazil, Thailand, and Cambodia. |

A mild drama occurred at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa on Tuesday night as President Goodluck Jonathan dragged the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, before television cameras, shortly before the commencement of the closed-door meeting of the National Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The president’s action seemed an attempt to show journalists that Mr. Tambuwal was still a member of the PDP despite recent reports of his closeness to opposition leaders and his rumoured presidential ambition. The speaker had boycotted major events organised by the presidency and his party including the second year anniversary of the Goodluck Jonathan administration and presentation of a mid-term report by the president. He also recently condemned the leadership of the ruling party for the suspension of Sokoto Governor, Aliyu Wamakko. The suspension was later reversed. Mr. Jonathan was walking alongside the Vice President, Namadi Sambo; Secretary to Government of the Federation, Pius Ayim; National Chairman of the Party, Bamanga Tukur; and Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Tony Anenih; when they were confronted by an array of cameras. Perhaps realising that the Speaker was trying to avoid the cameras, Mr. Jonathan teased him, saying, “Why are you hiding? They want to see your face.” The speaker also responded in a jocular manner. “I am not hiding. I am your property,” he said, as they proceeded to the venue of the meeting which started at about 9.00 p.m. The meeting is expected to discuss the ongoing crisis within the ruling PDP, including the expected exit of some members of the party’s National Working Committee; as well as the National Executive Committee meeting of the party scheduled for Thursday. |
