Freedom of Speech is entrenched in the Supreme Law of the Land and equally at the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights which Nigeria is a signatory. undecided

2. undecided You say things you very well know are not true. There are more innocent Nigerians in jail than there are actual criminals who committed crimes worthy of jail terms in there. So what makes you think you and yours are somehow immune? undecided
Where did you do your own law? cheesy The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is not a treaty; therefore, it does not have any signatories. It is a mere proclamation (like a statement of intent) adopted by the UN General Assembly, and it is not considered to be enforceable by any international tribunal.

There is no law anywhere in Nigeria or in the international sphere that permits people to commit defamation and get away with it. I've explained this to you before.

Nonsense impostors from amala/ewedu region. Stale gimmicks

By the way, Ibos have zero rivalry with the Edo people

SS & SE have so much in common - same food, religion, dressing, appearance etc

Yes but on average, I don't think Igbos consider Edo as part of the SS that they like and relate with, rather you see us as SW and more of a threat to your unity with other SS groups since most of them like to trace their ancestry to Benin.

When you get your defense angles right, you can come back to quote me.
lol but what is stressing you here?

A person says he doesn't like another person for a particular trait. He then says the other person should change that trait. Ergo, the trait, not the person is the issue but as long as the person possesses said trait, they remain dislikeable.

If he doesn't like them, why is he complaining about them not being nice?

If I do not like a group of people, I will never be bothered about what they don't say or do to me tobthe point of sitting down to record a video about it.

"Be nice, be friendly, say hi" doesn't seem to me like someone who doesn't like Lagos girls.
He isn't saying he dislikes everything about Lagos girls or that he views them inherently as bad people - from the video, it appears he dislikes one particular thing, which is that they are overly commoditized, and according to him, they should change that by becoming genuinely friendly and open to genuine connections.

Just like asking Nigerians to stop being corrupt wouldn't mean you hate Nigerians.

I mean? I can "understand" such statements coming from a broke man who does not have the money to "pull" the woman of his dreams.

One would think there should be baddies flocking all around him, with his physique and all.

His money is up, yet he still has a problem getting women.
Or...he just doesn't like Lagos girls like he said. Expressing it the way he did is ridiculous though.

Maybe people around you are just plain daft!

The average Nigerian child will grt into Uni at 16/17 and will do very well.

My classmates were in this age range and most had no problems.

Then there were those who were 15.
They thrived to.

So oga, speak for yourself!
I don't know if you don't realize this, but I'm really not dragging any point with you. If you notice, my post was directed to a more reasonable person (I don't debate with just anyone on here). So on that note, I've taken note that you believe 15/16 is ripe for uni. Good for you sir, and bye.

So...

Just don't be fvcking daft!
Clearly you don't understand the meaning of "the average child". Without meaning to insult you, clearly, you are the daft one here.

Landmark selling point was the beach... He won't build that thing there is there was no beach you killed the beach so what do you expect?

Is it that you are pretending or you don't know jack about business?
That's a lie. The constructions on the beach were an afterthought as Paul Onwuanibe himself has said. And if built with the intention of claiming the beach then he committed an illegal act. It's a basic thing.

So what now happens if a child passed out of basic 5 by age 16,will he/she stays home till he is 18?
The question is, why would a child be out of "basic" by 16? If you enroll your children in school at the appropriate age, 18 is exactly the age they should finish at, as is done almost everywhere in the world. So where are the parents rushing him or her to, and why? Do you realize that mental development occurs in stages and the average child is not ready for university life and university-level work by 16?

Politics › Re: Atiku Would Have Failed As President — Bode George by SmartyPants(m): 7:23am On Aug 24, 2024
emkz:
I don't think it is fair to say Atiku would have failed as president. He is not the president, so the assumption is meaningless.

It was due to selfishness on the part of everyone in PDP that Atiku emerged as candidate. In fairness, the ticket wasn't handed to him; he fought for it like a man. So that is fair. Southern governors met in Asaba and agreed that the south must produce the next president. What then happened? Selfish interests took over, the PDP governors could not implement their own accord, and Atiku went into the competition.

Atiku won.

Had Atiku been able to consolidate his victory by uniting the PDP and bringing back the likes of Kwankwaso, Obi, and G5, he'd have won the 2023 elections. The divisions within the PDP into main PDP, Kwankwaso's NNPPC, Obi's LP and Wike's aso-ebi boys split PDP votes. That split handed victory to President Tinubu. Atiku might have worked to prove himself and immortalize himself as a good president, or he could have ruined his opportunity like a former president did. No one knows for sure.

What pained me about Atiku's case even though I do not support him, is the people that surrounded him. They failed to advise him properly. In this game of politics, bigmanism has its limits; you must stoop and negotiate with those who hold the aces to swing things. You'd make concessions to them. For example, what value did Okowa bring to the ticket? Even after the election, I can't remember Okowa attending the presidential elections petitions tribunal sittings frequently. I also can't remember if he granted interviews as much as Datti Baba-Ahmed did. Okowa was honourable, but aloof, as if he felt Atiku was on his own. If it was Wike that was chosen, you can imagine the onslaught. Now, see the risk Tinubu took, did it pay off for the victory?

Anyway, Atiku is a resilient man, he just doesn't have good friends and good advisers.
He didn't say Atiku would have failed because he can't govern or lacks capacity. He said he would have failed due to southern resistance to another 8 years for the north. It's all there in the article.

Wills can be challenged on the grounds if mental capacity and reasonableness. If anyone prepares a will like this it needs to be accompanied by an ethical will that lays out the reasoning behind such a decision.

If the person is married only under customary law, such a testamentary declaration will be over turned at the speed of light.
Which law is that in Nigeria?

I will take this more seriously if it's came from a female lawyer.

Everybody naturally supports what favours them, if they were in the shoes.

Only a person of truth and high level integrity will stand for what is right no matter it's favourableness.

Conclusion: it would have more impact if comment was from a female lawyer.

Modified: Someone onced said "WOMAN is Woe Onto MAN"
There are a number of judgments that flow opposite to what this one is talking about so I don't know which law he is referencing. In the South at least, the likely position is a 50% split of properties and wealth acquired in the life of the marriage.
